Best Magoo Poems
I had a black cat called Magoo
The slippers and clothes it would chew
This damaged its jaw
And broke every claw
Thank goodness I had super glue!

It`s summer and it`s pleasing
in 12 shades of green.
I think i`ll go fishing
or maybe just dream.
In a trillium forest
by a trout lily stream,
or a white daisy meadow
where the waters run clean.
It`s summer and it`s pleasing
and i`ve no where to be.
With my shovel and pail
think i`ll go to the beach.
and walk through sand castles
dip my toes in the sea,
roll in the swells
that blanket the deep.
It`s summer and it`s pleasing
and it`s good to be free.
just to hang upside down
like a kite in a tree.
Fall through the sunlight
softened by leaves,
drop to my hammock
with a good mystery.
It`s summer and it`s pleasing
and i`ve no want or need.
Think i`ll sit in my garden
as the glories drop seed.
Rejoice with the bluebird
high atop the elm tree,
lie back in soft clover
point to clouds with my feet.
It`s summer and it`s evening
no desire to sleep.
On a night strung with diamonds
over firefly blinks.
Symphonic crickets
and peepers that peep,
as a moth named Magoo,
bumps it`s head on the screens.
His name was Mutt
'cause he was the runt
of a family of giants you see
and at only five foot three,
everyone called him Mutt.
Mutt wore glasses very thick
but unlike Magoo, Mutt Muster was quick
at all kinds of games
when you would think he couldn't see.
Well, he even played golf
and a real pool shark was he.
We all loved old Mutt
and were sad when he had to go.
He got a cold one day
and it didn't go away
so it took Mutt Muster
to the other side
where we think he's a giant today.
for Matt Caliri's "Fictitious Name" contest
Never missed a show Their antics filled the screen These two totally different characters Made me laugh howl and scream No murder mysteries here Definitely no pornographic behavior Just two middle-aged bachelors Living life with a different flavor Felix Unger and Oscar Madison Two names I`ll never forget The day their show was cancelled Was one of my biggest regrets If you have no problem with reruns Their still on channel 2 Keeping audiences in stitches Between Bonanza and Mr. Magoo
Those magazine covers,
All over your walls…
Do not matter-- Mr. Trump-
You are greedy corporate master.
We don’t need a one man show-entertainer.
In some other lifetime, perchance--
You were a snake oil salesman.
We have enough self-naris-tic people.
Parading around thinking they are the real.
You believe what you say and that it is the only way…
But not me, I just think you’re a @$$...
But No tea or biscuit I would have with you.
I find your demeanor to be Spoiled Boloney—
I would rather elect Mr. Magoo…
Please-Please, tell me
Enquiring minds want to know
How on this earth could you ever
Run this country---
When you can Not fix your hair.

Ya know baby you're usually right
Center cut, intherace, that's your place
On target, red carpet, gotomarket
Hittin' the bull's eye, 'n baby, I'm your guy
Smack-Dab babe
Like the Nile, you flow the right way
Like Carlyle, know what ta say
With you, I'm okay
If ever I'm off and stray
Grab meaway, gimme a jab
Baby, that's Smack-Dab
You're like Ophelia, Antonin Scailia, multimedia, memorabilia
Honey, you're KarmannGhia! Oh, callmea cab
Baby, you're Smack-Dab
You're Lash La Rue, Peggy Sue, Scooby Doo, Mister Magoo
Honey, You're Super Glue! Wow! Back to the lab
Baby, you're Smack-Dab
You're so sure
We're at that stage, we needa sage
Honey, you're the rage!
Baby, you're Smack-Dab
You're like Al Gore, Dorothy Lamour, Dinah Shore, Za Za Gabor
Honey, you're no bore! Ain't never drab
Baby, you're Smack-Dab
You're so fab
Fit as a fiddle, Nelson Riddle, heat upthe griddle
Honey, you're in the middle!
Baby, you're Smack-Dab
You're Buster Crabbe, Colin McNab, take a stab, my bar tab
Honey, you're my rehab! Ah, the gift a gab
Baby, you're Smack-Dab
While it's true only you I adore
I really oughtta tell you more
Baby, Imma big time loser, a simple fleck
Honey, you're a sure winner, a stacked deck
You're my Madonna, only one I wanna
Someday you'll get rings 'n things
For now your praises, it's me who sings
I'd rope a Picasso with my trusty lasso
Ya know I'd buyeth, if I saw a good Wyeth
Honey, you're the latest 'n the greatest
Baby, that's Smack-Dab
Bugs Bunny was a hero that wore no mask
That rascally rabbit, "What's up doc?", he'd ask!
The Flintstones Fred yelled,"Yaba daba doo!"
Wilma, Barney and Betty there with him too!
Popeye would always say, "I'm strong to the finish!"
Do you know why? "Because I eats me spinach!"
Rocky and Bullwinkle almost all of the time
Kept spies Boris and Natasha from doing crime
The Jetsons had all the space gizmos to get
George, Elroy, Jane, Judy and Astro their pet
Mr. Magoo clearly the most near sighted of men
Would say, "Oh Magoo, you've done it again!"
They said, "It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a frog!"
He answered , "It's just little old me, Under Dog"
Then we knew it was the end of the jokes
As soon as Porky Pig stuttered, "That's all Folks!"
oblivion is nothing new ~ i’ve been there once and will go back too
i awoke crying as sensations grew ~ til death rubbed out all i knew
god only knows who’s really who ~ i’m bamboozled a sign could do
blackboard equations esoteric and true ~ chalk dust for us to chew
can’t see past these monokus ~ that’s okay try this existential clue
life blindly flails on through ~ to bumble and fumble like mr magoo

what is love?
not a glove
doesn't always fit
sometimes its just spit
but its fine wine for someone
when Mister Magoo is gone
This one goes out to any of you who find yourself
feeling like me.
Maybe ones who are looking for a special friend,
or just someone to keep company.
If you’ve had the luck that I’ve had on those sites,
just wanting to find someone to date.
You too want to quit, but each time you start to hit “delete”, who pops up, but your
next “perfect mate”.
I’ve met Cary Grant, Hugh Grant, Superman and more.
I've met Elvis, and Waylon too.
But when it came right down to the truth, they were really
Popeye, Mr Magoo and Spongebob to name a few.
And then, you find one that you think is OK, so you start
having a small conversation.
Next thing you know he’s talking “love” and smut, and wanting you
to go with him on vacation.
He’s wanting to know all that personal stuff, like, well
stuff you don’t want to talk about.
And when you tell him, “That’s just too personal”, he replies,
“Shouldn’t be, I thought you were an adult”
Well, that’s where most of those relationships end. I just
don’t have patience for that.
So then I just go over to the couch and snuggle with the one that truly loves me.
My one and only,...my cat.
IF YOU WERE FOOL ENOUGH TO….
If you were fool enough to ask me things that better be
What I’d rather do twiddle-doo twiddle-dee if I were free
Yes, if you lived in a caved-in sagging igloo like our Magoo
I’d say go to sleep thinking of sweet Sue in downy mildew
Suck honey sirupy through wildly singing tulip stalks
Wake up on clouds fluffy where this world ne’er baulks
Better be listening to long King Crimson aubades fade
Than bang through Doors the mashed ear-drum brigade
Toss through worlds where logico-tractatus makes sense
Than watch elected hypocrites lipservice nuclear rea mens
Who would grudge me leave fuming in contours cannabis
Away from all this ritual rigmarole: watch praying-mantis
Mount your own back to munch your own squirting penises
What a donna-wetter way to perpetuate the human species

Mr Magoo is that you
The Flintstones yabba dabba do
just some of my childhood tv friends
This is my first attempt at blank verse
Don't expect a lot of content
It's a blank verse for goodness sakes
So the dialogue will be absent
How much of a clue do you really need
The verse is supposed to be blank
Do I really need to explain it any further
Don't wanna sound like a crank
Some may find this a little ridiculous
Trying something so bizarre
A poem that doesn't contain any words
Devoid of ABCs and Rs
I'm always game to try something new
It's my very first poem about nothing
Instead of a bunch of silly old verses
Bout lovemaking and passionate hugging
So what do you think of my first attempt
Did it make any sense to you
If it did, then my efforts were a total failure
So it's back to the quatrains, Magoo!

Poor absent minded
Amos Magoo!
He used to be Keeper
Down at the zoo.
But his name was included
On today's obits page.
He tried putting a tiger
In a parakeet cage
On a head, there lived a louse,
It was this itchy louse's house.
Mr Magoo was a mole,
Who lived in a deep, dark hole.
BANG! the head just shot a grouse!
