If we could cross the sunset skies,
We'd never need a place to lie,
Finding ourselves above all else,
We could fly until the end of time.

But what goes up must also come down,
Although in spirit form we shall be joined,
So fly we will for all eternity,
Perhaps we'll find our true energy.

On a serpent's tail, we'll ride till then on Draco,
And float down the river of Eridanus,
Ride on the winged horse of Pegasus,
Visit the harp of Lyra and gaze at Vega.

Stay in the summer triangle with Aquila,
Then off to the winter triangle to gaze at Sirius,
With so many wonders in all the constellations,
We may even find if all the myths are true.

But if they aren't I'll still have my star you.

Celestial Lullaby

Listen to the lullaby of the stars
As the symphony of the sunset
Shifts to the ballet of the twilight.

The stars dance across the sky
While the lunar spotlight shines on
Lyra as she strikes her harp and sings
Her sweet song, echoes through the night.

The world soundly sleeps in quite peace
As the celestial lullaby quietly comes to a close
As the golden rays of light peek over the horizon.

The stars silently fade as the sunrise waltz plays out
And begins the bright ensemble of daylight
That beckons the to the waking earth
Until the night plays its soft lullaby once again.

I Love An Alien

Well and in the season of the Crows Moon
In the year of the rat and Lyra twice as bright
I was in for the surprise of my life...somehow
I managed to transmit my souls desire and
Passion up into outer space and to a planet
In the Andromeda Galaxy well and you heard
My secret confessions and you had to find
Out more about me...traveling faster than the
Speed of light you tracked me down in just
One night, I turned around and saw you and
Your dark eyes saying I love you and I can
Offer you more than any human ever could
Now want you come and live with me where
You’ll be the center of attention and never
Grow old baby take my hand and set yourself
Free don't you know I can take on any image?
You wish, I said somehow I know, I just know
Your intentions are true so yes I will take
Your hand and come and live with you...
Goodbye big ole blue I Love an Alien
Whether or not this is too much for you to
Believe, I love An Alien and an Alien loves
Me, I love An Alien, I Love an Alien from
Another Galaxy!

Damned Souls

Lyra and Herdsman
Two constellations erotic couple
Milking over the Lotus Fiber-Haired River

On the nurtured bridge
That is attached to a celestial meet
From the standing

Of your heaven gaze
Before the evening
Of a large form.

Premium Member These Two Old Pups

These two old pups are near and dear;
I’ve kept them both throughout the years.
Lyra’s brindle, still cheetah-fast;
Lemony’s best years, in the past.
The thought of losing brings a tear.

When daughter schooled quite far from here
and had them crated, it was clear
they could not last, were much harassed,
these two old pups,

so I kept Lyra for a year.
Then, there’s the time Lem’ disappeared;
she got away from us quite fast,
a week in snow, did somehow last,
and then like magic, reappeared!
These two old pups…

Premium Member Night of the Waning Gibbous Moon

She went stargazing
in her dream.

As the light of the waning gibbous moon
washes out views of the dark night sky,
she and her lover stood transfixed,
their eyes filled with wonder
taking in the sheer beauty of it all!

There was so much to see and marvel at;
scintillating magic in the wide open
night sky; meteor showers emanate
a magnificent bright light.

They looked through the telescope
searching for the constellation Lyra the Harp
and the bright star Vega, hoping
they'll spot them overhead before dawn

'Twas a night and a dream
to remember!

Premium Member Oumuamua ------ Am I Poet Enough

look out from Hawaii
where summit isles peek at volcan panorama
like curious messengers scouting out ahead
where we spied Oumuamua skim slanting past
interstellar sliver rock tumbling by our yard
from Lyra curving by the sun, on to Pegasus
hyperbolic speedster, too fast for solar capture
  ......
am I poet enough to catch your angular drift ?

  prophet of the space age
Arthur foresaw your approach some years ago
for moments our eyes meet, tangential traveller
mysterious wanderer, wonder who probes whom ?
wonder whether we are worth your fleeting visit ?
here's hello from us to the white-horse mythical stars
wisdom and excitement resides in not being sure
  ......
am I poet enough to read space between the words ?

  do not stare directly
be askance, be oblique and somewhat off-kilter
watch the molten islands plume across the ocean
cosmic time, ancient journeys, canoes and planets
stumble on a meaning, kneel down, breathe in, rejoice
feel transition, change of key, symphonic rise and fall
music in the silence, in divergent destinations
  ......
am I poet enough to hear gaps between the notes ?

Returning a Hymn To You

Your voice was born from twilight's
Breast.
Your name stole the mystery
Of the night.
Ambrosial hand of gold
Bowled along the white
Surf
To glorify the lost souls
Of a time
Winding off with each chord,
the locked secrets of the world.
Orpheus!
You are the Sun's chosen
And the Sirens are trying
To steal a song
To bewitch the seamen.
Time is trembling among
Melodies and laments.
A lost lover behind the
Turning light.
Your silence is calling
The Muses
To carry you beneath
The sky's festival.
Maybe now you are near her
again.
Father of melody
Your untouched Lyra awaits
To form sounds of time,
To bring up an era lost.
Taming the darkness
You offered a soul to the cold.
Fingers divine,
Heart of gold!
As near was the end
You stood in front.
A bending moment was your Fate's circle
Following you
As condemnation for the centuries to come.
Journeys across the Sun's arms
As a prayer for the dreams you loved,
As a plaint for those you lost.
Still, your voice travels along the sea
To justify the unexpected turns
Of Time.
You, Orpheus, are the star,
The lighten flame,
Across the fields of gold,
Calling your love to come
With unreachable promises you hallowed.

This poem is for Orpheus, the Greek Heroic Legendary
figure who charmed even the God of Darkness
with his music. The story of Orpheus is unique,
showing love dimentions, his Hymns have made
an impact to world's music over the time.

History Rising from the Sea

Treasure from the sea
Golden doubloon
Sixteenth century artifact
By ancestors hewn

Earth's history lays buried
Beneath five oceans
As undersea tremors
Create violent commotions

Freeing from Spanish galleons
Precious metals, gemstones,
To greet early beachcombers
History on loan

Memories of bygone ages
Scattered on the sand
Finally kissed by sun again
While in a searcher's hand

I pursue this morning trek
With Atlantis on my mind
Seeking proof at last
In treasures I might find

When ancient civilations
Seem to disappear
Comb the beach, you might find
The evidence is here

For from a phoenix rising
New finds appear each day
And I'll not stop searching
Till doubts I can allay

Caroline and I shared of love of water - she the ocean and I lakes and Puget Sound. Her poems flow like tides - effortlessly - with bits of wisdom scattered like treasures of seashells or driftwood found on the beach. This poem speaks of our mutual love of beachcombing for treasures and the pondering of history brought to mind by life's flotsam.

The poem below represents my tribute to Carolyn.

Girl on a Dolphin

Stargazing ocean pixie
Rides the playful weathered waves
To surf the ocean tides
With laughing dolphins
Leaps to catch Delphinus
Starfarer in a star bound chrysalis
To ride this five star celestial constellation
On heaven sent lapis astral waters
Wearing moonstones like Apollo’s poetry
Where starry Aquila flies to Lyra’s music.

Salt spattered waves only gaze
At a girl – eternal sea sprite –
That sits atop a stellar dolphin
And feels the shell torn loss
Of feet that danced through tidal pools,
Delight and awe surging through her signature,
As time bound day searches midnight legends
To align in twinkling sidereal day –
A quest for remnant memories in verses
Of a star born spirit – girl riding on a dolphin.

The constellation Delphinus is made up of five stars and can be seen between the constellations of Aquila, the Eagle, and Lyra, the Lyre. It is named for two Greek legends based on dolphins one of which tells of Apollo setting a dolphin in the sky in gratitude for saving the Greek poet Arion. Apollo is the god of music and poetry.

Premium Member Sky Then and Now

Once there were billions of them; dotting our night skies; stars.
So few are seen today; thanks to smog and city lights.
Back then, I thought they were Gods eyes; not heavenly bodies.

There are many constellations; formed by those swirling, ancient bodies.
Scorpio, the Dippers, Lyra, Cancer and more; created by the stars.
Orion and his daughters three; Leo and Delphinus all formed by heavenly lights.

Deep among them sits the Milky Way galaxy; a giant display of holiday lights.
But year ‘round they’re all offered; those dancing, whirling bodies.
Though they’re now few; I love to still view, those sacred universal stars.

So get out your telescopes and view some lovely stars; magnificent light bodies.

Desert ,The Constellations and My Loneliness

a dark and quite warm, mid-summer August night
standing on a rock,I humble the desert's fright
a gentle breeze blows, tingling, teasing my ears
whispering an overture, to requiem of my fears
two lights are seen, shimmering, very far, far away
someone like me is drifting, the life's lonesome highway
I gaze high in the sky, finding the LYRA or HARP
on its upper rim's shinning, the VEGA, bright and sharp
the ARCHER stands so still,at Northwest of the CROWN
meanwhile the FOX is chasing, the CYGNUS or the SWAN
a shooting star suddenly, runs away off the SHIELD
the CLUSTER OF WILD DUCK,I do see, in that field
I make a thorough scan,to spot the EAGLE or INDUS
there appears, to my dismay,a huge and dark stratus
I leave, heading for my car, turn on the CD player
John Denver's heavenly words, capture my soul as in a prayer
the dawn just now is breaking,Sunrays herald the day
I wish for;on this highway;a soulmate to cross my way

Of the 10th Order

The wind rattles and shuttles leaves into fall
And grass wipes off its tears in the pour of night.
I hear throbbing haunches and tramps of stallions.
Garlands of blinking cowry shells
Ferried long from the treasury shores of the hoary moon circle their ripe manes.
Their hooves are cobbled ribbons that swim in the vicinity,
In a green picked from the virgin gardens of orion.
Then he appears on a grandeur chariot,
Sublime in the way he stoops for my being.
Every turn of the draconian rims, grand and millennial.
Crickets kick in creak and hearts heat in beats and him speaks in flickers.
The seraph spread of the white of his wings shines,
In purest and fairest of odd
Streaming milky in the way it pours out light unto the sun
His robe was torn from the scintilla of clockless nebulae
His skin freckles in sparkles of the gold of lyra and emeralds of taurus
He is not an enemy yet carries a triple-edged stainless rapier
Fetched from the mouth of draconis.
An aura of pirouetting cub whirlstorms keep him faceless
He thirsts my glory and haunts again
He's my angel of success

Premium Member Playing Among the Stars

They had the same routine every night before he went to bed…his dad would read him a book, tuck him in…then this is what he said:

“May this be the best night you’ve ever had my son of any night so far…may your dreams be filled with wonder as you play among the stars.”

One morning he awoke with a smile on his face…remembering the dream he had…and he quickly ran to the breakfast table so he could tell his dad.

“Dad! Dad! It finally happened!” he yelled…”I dreamt I played among the stars…
in all my dreams this was the best dream I’ve ever had…by far.

In fact I flew right by Venus and Jupiter…stopping on Mars instead…
and when I told her I thought she was beautiful…boy did she turn red.

Then I sat for a little while and dangled my feet off of the crescent moon…
listening to the constellation Lyra as she played a pretty tune.

As I sat there on the moon I began to feel hotter and hotter and hotter
so I picked up the big dipper and asked Aquarius for some water.

I played fetch with Canis Major and Minor…oh how good it felt…
until Orion told me if I didn’t stop…he’d be taking off his belt.

I spent some time with the North Star…of all the stars he’s the politest
and I talked a lot with Sirius..because he is, of course…the brightest.

I even rode a shooting star and you might find this hard to understand
but when I woke up in my bed this morning…I found this stardust in my hand.

His father smiled at his son’s excitement…then said, son, come with me
there’s something I’ve been holding onto I think it’s time for you see.

He opened up a drawer in his bedroom saying. “I too have flown among the stars…
then reaching into the drawer…he pulled out an old and weathered jar.

In here is stardust I’ve saved all these years…as hard to believe as it may seem
but when I was your age…years ago…I had a similar dream.

I suggest you keep your stardust with you always…he said handing his son a jar..
to be shared with your children…the morning after…they play among the stars.
