Premium Member A Song of Three - Favorite

I sing a song of three.
There’s Larry, Curly, Moe;
the Ego and the Id
and the Super Ego.

Three Kings of the Orient
are known as three wise men.
Showing up at Christmas too
in song are three French hens.

Rock, paper, scissors -
three gestures with the hand;
tricycles; three-legged races -
 things of kiddie land.

Three little kittens; three blind mice;
three were the billy goats gruff.
three bags of wool; three little pigs;
three bears for Goldilocks were more than enough.

Being three sheets to the wind
won’t be very good
if a 3-ring circus
becomes your neighborhood.

But three are the Amigos
and three the Muskateers.
Charlie had three Angels -
they were TV dears!

Huey, Dewey, Louie;
Kirk, Spock and McCoy;
Peter, Paul, and Mary
I sure did enjoy!

Three were Cream, ZZ Top,
Rush and Motorhead,
Diana Ross with her Supremes
(but not the Grateful Dead).

Three’s Company, but three’s a crowd!
Three strikes you’re out: a yard’s three feet.
Three-piece suits and Hanson Brothers.
Girls think those are sweet!

Ice cream Neapolitan
comes in flavors three.
So does three-cheese pizza
or a sandwich BLT.

Three-leaf clovers do abound
though luckier are four.
Yellow, red and blue when mixed
make three colors more.

Three things evil not to do
are to hear, to speak and see.
Holy is the number three
when it’s the Trinity.

Splendid are the trilogies
like Lord of the Rings.
Clearly you can see by now,
in threes there come good things.

i virtually hug the stuffing out of my birthstone,
the moody opal, with its raging volcanic flame —
leaping, delighting, entertaining my eyes.

specks of tinted lipstick - yellow, orange, red
kiss my irises. iridescent charm of color, play
with my mind, body and soul. calmer effects —

of green and blue like leafy trees & Caribbean sea.
Like Frodo, i slide this otherworldly warmth on my finger
rotating the silver band - “my precious” cabochon.

Parody of Crocodile Rock/an Elton John/Bernie Taupin song
(some of the lines may seem strange, but I truly tried to imitate the exact syllable
count of the song Crocodile rock, and in some lines you have to sing the words
extra fast!)

Reading in Bed

Long ago before VCR,
The internet and DVR,
I’d hang out with family
‘cause there were only four stations on the TV.
With my records playing, I would get
A little crazy dancing; then in my bed
While my sisters played, I lay and fed my head.
I was cozy with my nose-y in a book, in my bed.

Chorus:
While in my bed reading, I sure was feeding
my small head with fantasy!
And when my Mama called out for me,
in my bed is where I would be!
Oh, how I just loved my Stephen King,
romance novels, Lord of the Rings.. ..
Yeah, that reading in bed was a cool thing!
Wow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow

Well, the years have flown , and now I’m all grown
but I hardly know how to work my cell phone.
All night commenting to friends on the net.
Reading their poems is all the reading I get!
I’m so busy, by midnight I’m dead.
Can’t imagine my reading in bed.
It’s a cure same as counting sheep.
‘Cause now when I try it, I just fall to sleep!
Chorus

(Repeat first stanza and Chorus one last time!)

Premium Member Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

It may be hard to find me, see, because
My journey never stops - I only pause
at places you could hardly dream to quest
without imagination at its best.

I've been to Panem, where the Capitol
devises 'Games' that ruin families,
Along with Katniss, Gale and Peeta, we
fought till the end for equity and peace.

Of Hogwarts surely, most of you must know -
The sole academy that none can hate.
And now, not even portraits seem the same -
To owls and narrow alleys we relate.

They change our lives. They change what we can be.
Their tales and deeds give sight to those who see.

From finding a stone for cracking a case,
To launching a restaurant right into space
In forbidden cupboards and planets of elves
You can live as another and still be yourselves.

They spend our time, eternal, with a knack
Of one whose presence beckons from a rack.

Weep No More Madiba

An Elegy for Anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela

Oh Madiba! My Warrior! My Rolihlahla!
Madiba a proud warrior of ancestral savannah
Thousands of your children sing your name
Many of your children chant your fame

Your fame that flows like blood in our veins
All veins are broken for the loss of a great son
A son we stood tall, proud and strong
A strong tree has fallen and is now cruising along

Tell me Madiba! Tell me Rolihlahla
Is this your bow that is broken?
This bow that once shot western kings
Now sleeping in the Lord of the rings

You were taken forever from your children
You were taken deep into the woods
Torn and tortured in the dungeon of great pain
Only to be gathered and think off in our brain

Weep no more Madiba! Weep no more great son of Africa
Now, like never before we are standing together as one
Freedom you fought, we’ve had for many a day
God be with your soul great Madiba as we mourn and pray

The Snitch and the Seeker

The qolden snitch is lost in the air
A lost, that no one ever could bear

The seekers are out on rides of Sauron
They look furious and won't move-on

A storm is certain, the clouds are howeing
The flakes turn blizzard, the lightning roaring

Hey, where is the snitch ___ where did it go?
How come the seekers couldn't get to know?

Far from the world, up in a valley
A Potter is out on the quest already

The Chrysalis gives him the Phoenix wings
And here he goes up in the winds

Those wings have the key to break away
The curse They cause once on the bay

He has to find it before they do
She is trying hard, she knows it too

A swish in the air, a snitch being chased
He dives in, take the leads in haste

A battle erupts, the storm getting violent
But he catches the snitch and passes like lightning

In a hidden cave he open his hand
Flap his wings and cover snitch's face

Thunders striking, winds whipping, trees cracking
Something new is nearly unwrapping

A boom.. And the transformation completes
There now lays a pretty lady whom he greets

The curse is gone
It's now a never ending dawn

For she is a snitch... a charmer
For he a seeker and a keeper

First beams of sun touches their skin
As they fly high in sky and Wind plays violin

The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings

12/22/14

Props to the original Baggins
And his bravery towards the dragons
While he could've stayed behind with the wagons

Just a hobbit and quite the comic
But he should've watched it
And use all logic
Before trying to put on the ring inside of his pocket
Because another was unfortunate and lost it

This made him scathing mad
As he continued aging and
Inside a cave in the hills, far away from any raging sands

Originally had a name
But overtime he had changed
And was no longer the same

They didn't know what else to call him
Except for Gollum
Because he had fallen
And became solemn

Meanwhile the orcs
Marched with force
After coming into contact with the source
Of all evil from the North

The bell continued to toll
As the trolls
Looked to take all souls
With a heart darker than coal

During the events
The mist was dense
And full of suspense
But the ents that were immense
Put in their sense
And helped their allies get across the fence

Here we go again
Around the bend
It didn't end
In the eyes of children, ladies and men
Who could be considered a trusted friend?

Premium Member Tree Talk

When soft zephyrs are stirring arbor leaves
Words may be overheard whispered from trees.
Leaned against a trunk, my ears on alert,
This ranger heard soft words from a filbert.

A long-limbed water oak, leaning half bent,
Wryly some cross-cultural humor lent:
“An ancient Sawtooth oak nearby is king
His wide girth makes him The Lord of the Rings.”

Wanda the willow was awash in woes,
Dripping with languid leaves down to her toes,
Wondering if she would live some morrow
With strong upright arms as a saguaro.

A stately stout chestnut amidst the grove
Is the President tree where children rove.
One, draped on a limb, attention to gain
Fell; our President said, “I feel your pain!”

A gnarly bald cypress with knobby knees
Said, "When I tumble down, promise me please
My fallen large trunk you will boldly seize
And shape it a ship's bow to sail the seas."

A maudlin Mulberry preached and raved
Saying, “A fallen log cannot be saved.”
Yet Salty dogs yelled, “Shiver me timbers!”
On caravels of north wood, once limber.

An adjacent Scotch pine needled me too,
“Pine nuts are better than ice cream for you.”
Feeling that his advice was out of bounds
I arose to resume my forest rounds.

The Centre of Life

That we love is unquestioned, not a point of controversy,
Our marital or partnership ring is personal and never mandatorily issued;
Youth lets us find it in order to keep and hand it on a generation,
As it symbolises our joy, contentment and exhilaration.

When we are lonely or selfish in our relationship with the other,
The ring on our finger inspires with platitudes which save,
From ourselves or society’s fashionable, glamorous glaze,
To treasure the person that we love, until we are for them brave.

When Bilbo embarked on the journey to retake his land,
He found a ring which he felt so personally attracted to,
And so kept it for the use, meaning and magic that did from it emanate,
‘Cos its semiology was his cosmology as its sign was life immaculate.

But when he approached his land, a dragon claimed it so,
Which made Bilbo consider his strategy and individuality,
And when he actioned the ring, strength was his reality:
He only had to think about or touch it, and so upheld it in supremacy.

Our symbol of the ring for love alludes to a greater ring,
A friendship ring to admire and like, and maybe to suggest and fight;
If someone’s land is his or hers, and is not, it means evil lurks,
So Bilbo invigorated love’s power to kill and vanquish this night.

Smaug the dragon held evil and torment in his breath,
Fiery and without request of light, gumption or relationship;
Bilbo even calls himself a bulgier of its world of hardship,
Slavery, murder and creatures of all-consuming darkness.

The physical ring only facilitates the person to aspire,
But in Bilbo’s time it was in danger of falling into the wrong hands,
So Bilbo allowed Smaug’s hell-pit to thus consume the golden circlet,
Such that all that was left was those who accept love’s commands.

That killed Smaug and the origin of sin and immorality,
‘Cos to posses the ring is not to necessarily to honour it,
So when Bilbo returned home from his adventure,
His life continued on in his nephew’s by his conjecture.

About Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit adventure.

Being With You

Being with you is like a magical dream
Living in a place like an enchanted realm

Being with you makes me grow magical wings
And I feel mightier than the lord of the rings

Being with you takes me so high up
And from loving you I will never stop

Being with you makes my fantasies real
Nothing can compare to how you make me feel

Without you I wouldn't know what to do
Cause completion I achieve only by being with you

Premium Member Saturn Dances With the Moon

Saturn will be dancing with the moon tonight,
The spectacular “Lord of the Rings” will be quite a sight.
Even seasoned stargazers will be transfixed and amazed,
Looking to the right of the moon, they will offer their praise.

Lord of the Rings

I was once obsessed by Tolkiein,
But now I've kicked the Hobbit.

The Return of the Ring

Rugged room of like cavern, mountain.
Beneath is a stream of hot fluid.
Sole soak the Lord of the rings can bleed.
A meteorite quiet fountain.

Hot golden lava slowly strickles;
Behold, floats Gollum the monstrous ghoul.
To the volcano's bluff, it fast crawls.
At last, came and flaming fright bristles.

Before, like princely film, in air, hoofs.
Hole gate of Mordok to interfuse.
Volcano's chamber choked to peruse.
Lava ripples as the mist storms soft.

Now, Gollum reels with a nova, sonic.
Strikes the vale about, corpses quicken.
An army grows of ressurection.
Orc bones and rotten flesh- demonic.

Premium Member Take me to Lothlorien

The basement bulb goes out, I lack a spare
My cat licks my ice cream, I'm OK to share
My laptop gives my face a glow
I'm wrapped up in a magic flow

I imagine leaving the world of men
through Moria to Caras Galadren
float this door to the Arduin shore
reclaim my wonder there once more.

Take me to Lothlorien
I'll meet you in an elven glen
we'll stand on Amroth Cerin
and see our realm, the gem within

Come Pearl Maiden, to that mystic land
Please cross Mirkwood, I'll lend my hand
We'll walk the grass, we'll scale the height
Gain audience with Galadriel the White.

I've only met you online so far
In a fantasy book club, wherever you are
You might live in a basement too
But make it here and I'll meet you.

A! Elbereth Gilthoniel!
silivren penna míriel
o menel aglar elenath,
Gilthoniel, Albaness Tirath.

So take me to Lothlorien
Away from the stressful world of men
We'll share our love of legends made
In this land, we're not afraid.

For Celeborn has the elven ring
He hides this land from the evil king
If you make it here, then I’ll meet you
And hopefully my cat comes too!
