Best Inundating Poems

In the Gravy

The sea was unusually wavy,
When a cook in the Royal Navy,
With a roll of the ship,
Accidentally slipped,
Inundating his captain with gravy.

Premium Member The Lover Wind

A lover most capricious is the wind.
At times he goes to Meadow. He exhales. . .
Beneath his breath, her grasses’ blades are pinned
until he’s spent, and then, away he sails.

He’s been to visit Forest many nights.
He gyrates through each tree, whose every limb
responds by rustling leaves, and this excites
him even more. He moans and gusts with vim!

But lust is inundating when Queen Sea
meets Wind. She surges when he starts to wail.
Her body rolls and rises. . . . Ecstasy
the times he comes as Tempest or as Gale.

But I prefer the side of Wind that’s soft. . .
when he caresses me with gentle waft.

Premium Member Winter Love

when light faded out
and darkness descended
when all over me
the icy chill began to creep
I slammed the windows and doors
tightly shut
and like a child crawled
into my padded bed,

while the winter gale
was still raging outside
you broke upon my thought
as a euphonious melody.
when I longed for your warmth,
you knocked upon my feeble heart

as your voice trailed across to me
louder and louder,
I woke up from my languorous sleep
felt snug, the chillness around me, swept away
and a strange desire,
coursed through my nerves

I could feel the heat
of your tumultuous passion
the soft touch
of your caressing hands
the musky odor
of your fragrant breath
the warmth in your almond eyes

you stood before me
as an embodiment of grace

you opened the windows to let in the light
not leaving me grope in blinding darkness

you took me to the seas
of shore less delight
you enlivened every atom of my being
kindled in me the fire
of amorous desire
swept me off my feet
by the inundating tide of love

I felt my sleeping passions
suddenly set ablaze

Alas, with my senses lulled to sleep
leading me into a state of serene calm
through the door ajar,
you faded out like an evanescent dream
leaving me so stupefied....!

Two Thousand Miles

She bathes my soul within her
Sanguine waters ardently
Inundating my senses whole
I become upon her embrace
We become one spirit aloof
Within both light and darkness
Depraving sharp hunting eyes
Perceiving the mirrors self image
Of high tribulation chiseled
Stone falling across studio floors
Swept scrupulous and surgically
Transfusing this beauty of essence
Upon the humid air of breath
Sweetly scented floral calling
Across unmeasured distances
Trekked of unfettered resolve
Heightening as you draw close
Tending my wounds unshaken
Confidence in trusting touch
Eases tautness now diminishing
Away flying into night taking
Pieces of you in my pocket
Clutching for hope and strength
Of this blossom rooting deeply
Within one another we discover
All that we behold and feared
I give to you willingly…untainted
Wholly my poetic heartsong
Inscribed within and without
My trusted two thousand miles

Premium Member Aftermath of Flood

Damaging winds whip and slash, whirling wild, drenching rain,
Roads decimated come to standstill, as gushing floods reign,
Inundating swollen terrains, roiling deluge of a tenebrous day,
As trees bowing to gusting storms; erratically waltz and sway.

Houses naked with roofs blown, now ache, mangled and worn,
Where loss of life, in makeshift shelter, neighbors sadly mourn;
Sharing stories of a sudden event, rushing through the town,
Disheartened life, since torn-down, anguishing in wistful frown.

Danger lurks, where flood waters submerge fallen power lines,
As rivers and tributaries of muddy-flows, float uprooted vines,
What once was a harmonic rhythm, now perturbs pulse of life,
Dawn that rose on a lambent arc, now shudders in sullen strife.

People stranded, anxious for rescue, assess the damage done,
Cars are destroyed, fires are burning, recovery has just begun;
Sirens blaring of dire emergencies, are chasing to plug gas-leaks,
Searching for victims of drowning, scouting the rivers and creeks.

Swindlers are hovering, ripping-off elderly, exacting heavy price,
Hit by the tragedy first, then by the cruelty of defrauding vice;
Some now blame callous humanity, some name it~ an act of fate,
Mired in untold challenges, as remnants-torrent start to abate.

Premium Member A New Journey

Nimbus clouds drifted over me from the sinking horizon
Etched on these I saw the image of my marooned mind
Wandering forlorn in the seamless smoky sky of sorrow.

Broken dreams drizzled from the melting morose clouds
Enmeshing me with the latent lattice of gripping gloom
Gliding on the surging cascade of agony inundating the eyes
In swirling storm of devastating despair I searched for a trail.
Nascent dawn ascended with the rising sun promising me
New beginning as I found fervent hues flash on your face
Inspiring me to return from the edge of desolate wasteland
Never to stray away from the verge of the verdant meadow.
Gleefully I began a new journey on the garden path with you
Saw in your eyes all my departed dreams return one by one.

The Rain On My Glasses

The rain on my glasses
I see it, so magnified
Each droplet, a crystal
Gliding
Upon the wall of my mind,
On every lens,
A waterfall, a river,
A stream
In the rear, I stand
Pondering
As if in a marvelous dream.

The rain on my glasses
I see it, so magnified
Each droplet,
A spring inundating
The arid ground of my mind
Through every lens,
A world drenched, colored,
Surreal
In the rear, I stand
Pondering
As if I have just begun to feel.

My Unique Line : Jsl -------A Day of Ones In the Sun---

Inundating radiant sunshine beams
down on my face
fervently tracing crows feet
nearing the frown I can taste

obliterating tear streaks
transmitting them
into the depths of outer space
introducing an iridescent spectrum
of piercing waves
golden ears fear in the race

Electromagnetic oscillation
inspiring me to rely
religiously
upon solar energy
photosynthesis
eradicating unwanted toxins
by chasing them
vehemently

So on this sacred date of "ONE"…
negative energy is trumped
by the positive tsunami
of the sun

and as she dares me
to stare into her face of grace
ninety three million miles away…
I sigh
as her radiance blasts my face
in such a merciful way
suddenly my shaking knees
give way to an epiphany
that this day is laced with sanctity

Finally
the world's eyes feast upon
an auspicious
uniformed alignment
five ones standing side by side
gold adorned
a spiritual aspirant

making change the world will see...

"The Sun's Seven"
pronouncing a unified spirituality

* Entrance for P.d.'s "Unique Line" Contest-----This poem's title is unique "A Day of Ones In the Sun" because it describes a very special and unique calendar date 11-1-1. But if you missed it...
don't worry or let your eyes get blurry with tears
cus' 11-11 's comin' in a hurry to relinquish your fears.....so yes there will be another day of ones on 11-11-1! tho' I can't promise you at the Soup that the 11th will be filled with sun!------I believe my poetry, like many others on this amazing site, has a fresh variety, inspired by life and everything in it! I hope you enjoy my lines like :"the world's eyes feast upon
an auspicious
uniformed alignment
five ones standing side by side
gold adorned
a spiritual aspirant"

The Flood

Inundating, binging,
the muddy, bulimic river
gorged the flood plain, consuming
everything that wasn’t nailed down:
tree limbs, leaves, bleating sheep, chicken coups,
plastic grocery bags, inner tubes,
cesspit contents, only to vomit
it back up to its torrential torrent surface.
Helpless victims stand the high ground
with a wing and prayer their homes
be spared the wrath of God
knowing only too well that the laws
of nature…
have no favorites.

God ! God ! Why have you forsaken me ! Translation of Pierre Emmanuel’s Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani by T. Wignesan

Opening the eyes requires such an immense effort
As if the entire sky were their eyelids
And the forehead how to hold it up raise the earth
To stare wide-eyed the space between the sticky eyebrows
In order to be able to see

All of a sudden the neatness of the slashes
Of black and white during the afternoon’s storm
A world of sharp detached angles
The exact banality of the tiniest things
All for nothing

So therefore it’s really for nothing he was going to die
On this stump of a cross his ankles frozen
By your atrocious coming and going to the beat of the
         lapping
Inundating the cramped sinister woods
O ! the Crowd !

If the gallows were the Tree in the Garden
Indeed it has changed since Adam enjoyed its shade
So vast and dark in waves of palms towering high
The taste of these nocturnal waters rendered them insipid
The sky

Adam concentrated on the fruit and in the fruit the night
His eye was the ultimate star the most solitary
Someone wanted to destroy himself screaming into it
The hand already held the fruit. Of a sudden the anguish
Abated

Now the Tree is extirpated from all space
Its sap is concentrated in one monstruous fruit
This body where God is shrivelled up this Face
Of the Person in the désert of an over-populated world
This is the Man

God ! God ! Why have you forsaken me !
The Christ as pulp bruised empties itself in the depths of
           the void
The entire spirit is drawn upwards by the cry
But the taciturn echo awaits that it enters into him
The Yes

This Yes that Adam has refused him in the Garden
Adam Christ uttered it out loud to sum up his tortures
Necessary that the act of abandonment be out of
           proportion
And the cross the supreme echo of divine Names.

Heather Bids To Whither

You can't fool a dancer,

hard reverb coming at you like Prancer-

welcome-wagon interstellar like Lancer-

holy demon!
When did my steam stop?

Holly weedin'!
Where did you chop chop?

Heeeeeeeeeeeey! ! ! !

Welcome here...
Its home in the winter.

Heeeeeeeeeeeey! ! ! !

Dear Splinter,

it's a creep in the depths of the beat,

it's the 'I won'ts' in the Orgasms and weeps,

the liver turns into seed,
never forgets to breathe,

because the end will set us all free! ! !

Welcome here,
I have a reason to sound clear,

so don't drop out justifyin' why you're not-
flappin- flippin- rectifyin,'
or wearing any gear...

Heather bids to whither in winter with a sinner!

Dharma- bammered- donner's party at dinner!

Don-wan gets undertaken by the cowards of the crewman,

that's what happens off stage at an out-land!

Astounding as the crowd that attracts,

jumpin' jimmy's all around the facts,

people clambering over outdated nick-nacks,

elders not retiring because they know they put evil back,

William wondered of war over sea's with the remorse,

Donna sang to the serious on stage with the poor,

verdict was made to off set the players inundating us with words,

technology crashed the earth and left the economy for the birds.

Premium Member Shopping Dilemma

My shopping excursions to the local marts are very rare indeed.
My dear spouse does the shopping, I only go when in dire need.
I have no interest in fostering the foreign imbalance of trade,
Therefore, when I shop I want to buy things American made!

Why, nowadays one can tour the world and go on a shopping spree,
Without leaving the county or crossing the billowing sea!
Since most things come from The Czech Republic or Paraguay,
The Peoples Republic of China, Japan and even Uruguay!

I can live sans everything French, especially their cheese and wine.
California wines and Wisconsin cheeses suit me just fine!
I'm desperately trying to find a locally-owned shoe store,
Where I can buy American shoes, not those assembled in Ecuador!

Alas, my turkey for holiday repast is imported from Old Mexico.
I'd much prefer that it be bred and reared here in Colorado!
Can anyone tell me where I can buy American made attire?
Seems all the labels read, "Made in Laos, Thailand, Belize or Eire!"

The plethora of stuff continues to invade our sacred shores,
Inundating the shops and marts, overflowing their cash drawers.
Even the paper upon which I scribe was made in a place called Texas,
But I reckon I can brook that, since with them we have a tenuous nexus!

Suicidal Voodoo

Chase the voodoo to sleep. sleepless freaks i see in the silver screens blocking the vision of me. there's no choice but to eliminate hate inundating the mind. please mute the voices haunting the airwaves making me blind. the big bad budding burden flashing red lights at every intersection. stealing away the insight i try to gain by using time for reflection.

It's a mess the way i test myself with deranged prophecies and bleak scenarios. replaying horror flicks in my head. blasting screams in stereo. all too often the worm hole shoots me to a mid evil castle of torturous devices. impaled in dreams that seem to be broadcasting punishment for succumbing to the world's entice and vices. but other times i fall victim to a good old fashioned "day-mare". people notice the self conversations and can't help but laugh and stare. I must say it's becoming difficult to blame them. if i can't learn to shake this voodoo, it's true my future's looking grim.

What do I do? they're gonna end up arresting me! Toss my ass in a padded room and throw away the key! and get this...as i worry about getting sent away, the paranoia increases inside my head. i reach for medication increasing odds of ending up prematurely dead. I may be crazy, but don't take me for an idiot fool. and don't haze me about where my faith is, cus' this could just as soon be you. and i've learned enough to know that each and every one of us will die. and you may take me as insane, but me not taking my own life's got nothing to do with having a fear to fry.

This is exactly why i choose to write as my mind fills up with crazy thoughts and throws fits. it's a therapy for me to try and work out all the kinks that make me sink, instead of cowardly throwin' in the towel n' calling it quits.
