Premium Member One Brief Moment

Look...See how long nights are drawing in.
Dreary birdsong gradually abates -
Opaque dusk grows dim;
And just outside the creaky little garden
Gate,
Stood opposite the empty wood
Where the vacant threshold silently awaits,
I pause, when, resonating quietly back...
I now hear...
Far distant echoes of my glorious childhood
Tugging like a Siren upon my ear.

With a heartfelt pang I turn to move,
Before my staring should offend some
Old friends ghost
To manifest in vengeful affright,
Towards the comforting sanctuary proffered
By the warm kitchens weak neon light...
That sneaks out from behind the half-shut
Door,
But held - Transfixed!
Brought from wither-not-where to this one
Small place - Staid...
As if caught in a state of heavenly grace,
Conversing to the soft wind in harmonious
Angelic rapport:-
Thus soothes like enchantments waves...
Rolling gently up to repeatedly break upon
Magical banks girdling Nivians lakeshore.

For what be this odd muse
That upon my aging senses does so readily
Enthuse...
And to my inner soul so inextricably
Implore?
Ahhh...But this much I may be allowed to
Say,
Before darkly gathering skies extinguish
Over weak flames of the last spluttering
Ray,
Perhaps it is our inner voice
That seeks out the solitudes of
Tranquilities choice -
To witness and record and dutifully store...
Those rare and fleeting moments
We all too briefly adore.

Premium Member In Eternal Sleep I Will Find Thee, Julia

As fiery beacons
Blaze
And cut through the
Night;
As restless sleep
Doth so tax and
Trouble me;
And I hang upon
A promise:
That my love
For thou
I did most fervently
Swear unto thee!

As icy comets roar
And sail against
The galactic tides,
Their streaming tails
Lingering upon a
Solar wind,
I will grasp
This one last chance...
To bare my soul
And chasten myself
From all my sins.

Then immortal wings
Will downwards sweep
From heavenly ramparts
Where divine Angels
Do so keep...
To gently raise me
To my feet,
And, softly brushing
The dust
From mine eyes,
Lift me high
To be seated down
Before the wise.

Whenceforth,
Hence so empowered,
Whilst slumbering
Fantasies
Once more take flight -
Unremitting and
Without respite:
When, passing through
Heavens doors...
To search you out
Across the sands of
Timeless shores.

Thus, finally, after
Stumbling
Across starry Aeons
Of an almost infinite age,
Throughout these
Many anguished trials
Of forlorn,
And seemingly,
Endlessly
Despairing days,
To overwhelmingly
Rediscover your
Presence:
Beholding your perfect
Form -

Suddenly and inextricably
Revealed
Before my wonder-struck
Gaze!

After enduring what feels
Like the damnation and
Curse of eternities
Countless years,
Now, heretofore:
How I shall cherish
And much adore...
This one true heart
Forever more.

Premium Member - Always Love You -

Broken tears - unforgettable love
I can still remember the way they looked
They radiated with elegance and grace
A unbroken chain with roots on the ground
I wish I could rewind time
give love a second chance

As long as the stars shine
- soft as a cradled baby
"I will always love you"

East meets west and love is put to the test
Amor arrows made of stainless steel
Should love's stand or fall
We know that heart and pain
are inextricably linked
Faith, hope and love
Only God has the right to judge

As long as the stars shine
- soft as a cradled baby
"I will always love you"

Sweet scent breathed from the parting lips
Like fragile wings of a hummingbird
Passion, words alone cannot express
Everything was perfect
nothing at all was wrong

but you don't see his blood"

Premium Member Stoicism as Way of Life

Purposeful thought leaders, empowering intellect they reign,
In disposition phlegmatic, indifferent to pleasure or pain,
Rejecting emotions vain, impassive within taciturn domain,
Questing for mindful contentment, virtues of reason ordain.

Missives tolling of rectitude, emanate from heart and mind,
Guiding sanctity of awareness, wisdom virtuous aligned,
Maximizing positive thoughts, amplifying tendencies kind,
Of knowledge and understanding, spirits tranquil designed.

Freeing from distress, achieving balance in purity sublime,
Reverberating in noble song of life, echoing through time,
Strumming happiness, where refrain of reason is prime,
Where goodwill of speech, and actions benevolent rhyme.

Enlightened people find harmony in realms of self-control
Overcoming disturbances that in silhouettes of past troll,
Vying aspirations of tomorrow, enamored in sanctity of soul,
Consciously shedding negativity, passions imprudent extol.

Volatility of perturbed life calms, embracing thoughts divine,
As sapient ways of erudite mind, on arc of cognition shine,
Triumphing over negative vibes as dissonant distractions decline
When goals of reason and acts of virtue inextricably entwine.

Premium Member Take Me There

There’s nothing like the lovely rustic charm
Exuded by the far flung lush green country farm
Where trees in majesty sweep heaven with their crown
And birds with celestial music, the surrounding valley drown

Where the air, so pristine and sweet like the forest glade
And Heaven with rich profusion bless the country wide.
Where the rural folk in relentless toil, values, and pride
With their simple, artless, and modest life reside

My senses have ere long etched every sight n’ sound
Of that countryside wherein my childhood inextricably bound
Take me to that place of bliss to which I long to retreat
And splurge in memories that cascade down in surfeit.

Premium Member Peace On Earth

When all squabbles and wars shall cease
As for the complete world, we will create peace
Individuals ought to be more socially adept,
not scolding one another for being incorrect.

Contemplation involves ample guidance,
and eradicates our pretentious contrivance
We might also switch the soul's floodgate
Recognizing that we harvest what we create.

War arises as a struggle for power and land
People at times just need a helping hand
Avoid self-interest and under-mount sinks,
And pleading for humanity to peace winks.

Kindred children are resilient and vitreous
Loss of candor led them to become igneous
We might limit our focus to pursuing peace,
Our voice ought to reflect love, not decease.

My spiritual self serves as my divine guide,
Seeking understanding is a process inside
I buried my treasured self hidden within,
where it will be safe against earthly sin.

I place my trust and faith in the Lord above,
Who has convinced me of the eternity of love?
and perseverance that leaves doubts behind,
I aim to induce peace by myself, but inside.

We should all aspire to coexist in peace,
People suffer when there is such a decrease
because it is profoundly ingrained inside,
With our peace, we are inextricably tied.

Premium Member Whispers In the Shadows

Where the haze of the soul and heart meet
As darkness wiggles and enigmas excrete
Whispers hit over an unfathomable abyss
A story of love and shadows starts to wiss

Amid a mist of ambiguity and skepticism,
an opus of whispers bursts aestheticism.
Invisible hands oversee the visceral dance,
When light and shadow share a glance.

Soft, seductive, shadowy muttering,
Raising awareness over innate yearning
Such ethereal sparks on a gloomy night
Sparking zeal to sustain the fire bright.

Within the eerie abyss of one's heart
Love and gloom share an intense start.
Our bond is a tango of dim light and shade
As tales disappear and real facts are laid.

"In the misty corridors of the soul"
The harm of gossip is lasting and taking its toll.
Inextricably linked with affection and gloom
A dance of lies for all to witness and bloom.

Murmurs resound with an introspective tune
We're reaching closer as we quest and swoon.
Digging into the worst depths of our appetite
Grasping the reality that generates love tight.

               awakes, striding seamlessly towards the
              trajectory of daybreak. Abed, passionately
attended by orectic thoughts; of whom
early on was created from man’s thoracic cage.

                                      ~Envisages;~
Without the least trace of compunction; exfoliating the
Saccharine damped canal with the tongue. Combined oils
and aroma lingers on the lips. Though the stiffened, unbridled,
solid thick muscle would supersede the tongue as the
warm tightened canal adjusts to its width inextricably.

                                        ~Pausing~
                           Waterfalls pouring profusely

                             discourse with the sun.

Premium Member The Manchester Ship Canal - Part Two

Stilled again across the canals broadening
Girth;
Mesh cages of rock-filled Gabions
Reinforcing patches of exposed and arid earth,
Reflecting the glints that gleefully
Twist and dance in the hot glare of the sun...
Provoking images and stirring indefinable feelings
That begin to irrevocably up and run;
Pictures and voices crowding into my mind:
Immersing me in the flooding moments
To which i am briefly resigned.

Now momentarily staid by the shimmering
Instance
In which i find myself inextricably caught,
Perplexed by something rather intangible,
Seeming almost to tease and laugh
Whilst confounding upon my evasive and
Fleeting thoughts;
As glancing across at the opposite bank
Where drawn up a line of densely packed trees..
I swore...I heard the reel of a high squealing
Fiddle -
Playing ever so briefly alongside a tricky little
Breeze.

For stood there I, wondering,
On a grey painted swing-bridge:
Of brightly painted Steamers, dirty Trampers
And of double masted white canvassed Brigs.
Oh! The everlasting glory of a New World order
Redefined:
Entrusted to those instructed in her Majesties
Construction of sprawling Victorian sublimes!
The men who heroically dug, picked, blasted and
Strove:
To securely fasten an Iron cast girdle around
An ever diminishing blue globe.

Dreaming of long ago, dutiful, Golden-Age days
Rigorously pursued down, what are now,
Weed strewn, abandoned byways.
Faustian clothing and a Velveteens cap;
The thick buckled leather gaiters held about
By the strap.
Many the word spoken in a soft southern brogue:
All hail the glorious navigators -
The navvies of old!

Staunch and desperate men forced to resign
Their native Gaelic shores
And burden unto themselves with
Mattocks, shovels and garishly painted-up whores.
Under the high flaming beacons
And over the obscure little brow -
They carved out the new waterways
To float the laden down prow.
Yes! Men of the Emerald Isles
I salute you and your kinsfolk
From lands cast westwards afar:
The magnificent "Paddies" from the verdant island -
Of Erin-Go-Bragh!

NEW YORK-STYLE HUNGARIAN STEW

In the darkest corner of her living room,
she waits to eat. A stone’s throw away,
her ex lives with their kids, his goulash
wafting reek into her open windows.

Through the one in her master bedroom,
the man could easily catch sight of his successor
swaddled in goose-down, identical in color
to the old comforter she could see, if she cared to,

just beyond her window, on the bed where
she’d been fed, “I’ll cherish you always.”
Abutting that room, the den with surround-
sound TV, where the vulgarian had charmed

the panties off her during commercials, turning
up his volume so she could grasp every syllable
of his accented endearments, his excuses.
Adjacent, their son and daughter’s rooms

(now, with suitcases the children bring back
and forth each weekend); and down the hall,
the state-of-the art kitchen where her louse ex
still plays chef. How she’d wished he’d played

spouse with as much know-how and gusto. Oh,
how he’d cooked and cooked their goose, served it
up every chance he got, till she got good and fed
up and fled to an old flame in a brownstone

across the way — where, at this very moment, she sits
with the stench of the dish her ex is, no doubt, cooking
to death, and the essence of her Crock-pot stew
cooking up a storm, inextricably mesh.

Cord of Communion

“it is as if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly and inextricably knotted to a similar string situated in the corresponding quarter of your little frame. And if that boisterous channel, and two hundred miles or so of land some broad between us, I am afraid that cord of communion will be snapt; and then I've a nervous notion I should take to bleeding inwardly. As for you, - you'd forget me.”
-Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

This closeness we share has become a duality of sorrow and happiness,
Expressing doubt undoubtedly,
You see I am no machine for indifference

Love me, please,
And express it so,
For when we turn our separate ways
You shall cease to hate me when I go
You will feel the tug of want in the tightening cord between us
I will see that you have tested me and knowingly I will fail

I will fail to live without you,
I will bleed, and then you shall win
So that you may never test me again

In desperation I plea,
With every effort I can conjure
I plea that you take my heart
Before you take to the skies
I want to see the world with you
I want to dream with you
Live with you
Care for you
Hold you
Know you
Warm you

Please,
Tell me you want the same
Or go!
Leave,
Flee, and fly. . . .

This cord of communion is tight enough to break
But it is also tight enough to hold us together forever

The Scent of Their Soul

Once they walked many parts of this land
A people tall and tanned
They travelled along lines of song
Together banded by brother and sister strong
Their language bares the scent of their soul
In rock art lining walls of ancient water holes
It speaks through spirits of ancestor’s old
Fragrant of Country so olden, before even dreamtime stories told
A soul descendant from Wadjina
Bonded inextricably to land and culture
The creator of Country, of woman and man
It whispers between cathedrals of rock
Soulful ghosts - protector of past and present
Through their ceremonies
The young one’s listen through eye’s bold
Watching shadows dance round camp fire told
The scent of their soul
It lingers in the dust
In the ashes
In the creeks
It reeks of treachery past
A colonial collision
A mismatch of missions
Some stand up and listen
Others drown Christened
It’s time to give in to worry
It’s time to say sorry...

Sin

Guilty as sin
Because sin is past tense
The deed has been done
And not far hence

What measure of you now
Have been newly made
To what pleasure did you bow
Where vanity was paid

How shall men see you
For what you have done
Can time someday heal
What was seen by the sun

Or is there someone waiting
Who will remember the truth
Is there someone hating
Who would set your secret loose

Guilt is an emotion
Difficult to explain
We name those two emotions
Sometimes fear and sometimes shame

Can you desire repentance
Just for fear of God
Has shame touched your conscious
With feelings that are odd

A soul that runs from justice
Haunted by a past
Always checking your shoulders
Tell the lie told last

Many years may pass
Before the string in your labyrinth is found
Those that matter will find the truth
That your inextricably bound

Will guilt and shame clear your name
Or evil face appear
When truth and facts finally attach
After so many years

We blame fate for so many things
Especially our human flaws
But still when things really matter
We ignore our own laws

Secrets, we should keep them
For sometimes truth brings death
Because blood is thicker than water
And all that we have left

We may give time all our secrets
And wonder if time will forgive
But time knows all our secrets
And the fateful time to reveal

Dandelion

tidy floral rows
     stark ragged dandelion
shears’ hungry maw gapes
   shing!
have a care; it will regrow
                     unlike your delicate bloom

surprised, you look down
     your prize tulip’s roots mingled
          with this intruder
               woven inextricably
                    gleaming shears look quite hungry
