Best In Agreement Poems
I stand at the wooded edge
where goldenrod bows with the wind's wave
its yellow heads nodding in agreement.
A chickadee perches
its heart a tiny drum of joy
echoing the forest's pulse.
In this moment a smile radiates—
not mine but the earth's—
a ripple spreading
a gentle caress touching all it meets.
A maple leaf lets go
red-gold luminous
spinning down in a silent dance
a quiet farewell to summer's warmth.
I catch it as a gift.
How strange, this silk
between bird, leaf, and human
this quiet belonging that holds
as frost approaches.
What is this feeling
but love's quiet whisper?
This moment
but life itself, distilled
to its essence?
And now, having tasted
this wild sweetness
how will you carry
your one precious life?

Yes the combination of those words sounds quite atrocious.
Clearly it describes a guy with serious psychosis.

The President of USA is really a big chump.
He spreads all kinds of nonsense when he is on the stump.
And when he got elected everybody was in shock.
Maybe he can talk the talk but he can't walk the walk.
Oh, supercallousfascistracistsexistnazipotus.
Yes the combination of those words sounds quite atrocious.
Clearly it describes a guy with serious psychosis;

He's travelled all around the world and everywhere he goes
the people turn and shake their heads because he really blows.
When kings and queens and ministers all spend a day with him,
they all are in agreement that he's really f-ing dim.
Oh, supercallousfascistracistsexistnazipotus.
Looking at his food he risks arteriosclerosis.
Response from neighbors far and wide is turning quite ferocious.

The economic diagnosis' looking mighty grim.
His chance of reelection - hope to God - is very slim.
Everyone around the world is praying a great hymn
that he'll move to Gaza and purchase a kibbutzim!
Oh, supercallousfascistracistsexistnazipotus.
Looking at his food he risks arteriosclerosis.
Response from neighbors far and wide is turning quite ferocious.

My Father asked me about you today...
I told him that you are a brilliant woman
extremely beautiful, compassionate and creative,
how could I want anything less,
he shook his head in agreement saying...of course...
I said that I will love you until the day I die,
and that if the Afterlife
is anything like the way we conceive it to be
that I'm sure I'll see you, and love you there too,
he sighed as if passionate love was just a memory and said...
I forgot what that's like...
What do you mean I asked...with you as my only genuine knowledge of love,
and he replied...
To be in love so absolutely...
and we both remained quiet for a few slow moments,
he, looking sadly into a distant and dying need
and I, staring proudly into the certainty of our love's immortality -

When you get to stand
On the outside of the circle
Do you like what you see around you?
How you react to life
How you react to the challenges thrown at you
Do you feel guilty about your actions?
How you handled a particular situation
Do you sometimes wish you could do it over?
When that hits you,
You can feel at ease with who you are
Because you still have a conscience
Unlike others who go through life
Hurting people,
Those who walk all over others
‘Cause they not in agreement with their needs
In life we tend to forget
That being human involves compassion
Humanity means to show that you actually care
Especially when no one is around to praise you
For all the unseen extra you do

The Birch tree said, I want to be a Christmas tree
The Balsam Fir tree said, you can’t be, you’re a Birch
The Birch tree said, I am white as snow, yes I can
The Maple tree said, find a purpose, I make syrup
The Oak tree said in agreement, I feed the squirrels
Then, the squirrels nearby could hear the chatter
Feeling bad for the Birch tree, they decided to gather
They collected acorns and strung them with blades of grass
They hung them around the Birch tree as perfect garland
Then the Blue Jay gathered some Holly Berries too
The Eagle put together some special leaves for a star
Soon, the Birch was a Christmas tree, gleaming from afar!

As I stared into the starless night,
the blinding lights of the city blotting out the beauty of a
cloudless sky fading away into day
I wonder what we missed this time - so preoccupied with our
earthly troubles - perhaps a message that Heaven wanted us to hear
Could it be a winsome Sonnet that was waiting in the winds for us, but we did not listen?
As I looked out over the waters of the endless river - flowing steady
The small streams making their own separate way, reflecting the
beauty of the Moon lighting up the night sky; What is the story they
have to tell - but we are too busy trying to sort out the problems we
brought upon ourselves
Could it be a sweet Melody in answer to the questions that flow continuously through our hearts?
Oh Look! Behold the mountains rising in the distance - the lovely
Daffodils and Sunflowers moving in the soft winds - blue green grass covering the Earth from as far as the eye can see - What is this Song they sing? Do we not understand the language they speak to us? Are we so filled with the
worries of everyday life that the meaning is hidden from our minds
Could it be a wholesome Ballad to guide us through the maze of the
issues of everyday life?
It seems we can translate with ease the verbiage of hate filled hearts;
We put ourselves in agreement with the Lie; that our Creator made one
race of people superior to another; we read the dictionary filled with the
meaning of murder, betrayal and treachery - perpetrated upon others who
were made in the same image as ourselves - and then we watch with
closed hearts the consequential results of indulging in this dark information
Could it be that we missed the sweet Song whispering in our hearts
from Heaven's Choir?

Open the door my friend,
Climb on in,
Join me here in this relentless caravan,
This unstoppable, this incontrovertible,
this inexorable movement,
To the depths of the dry gulf.
Join me here my friend,
In this annihilating armada,
This incontrovertible migration,
This inexorable swarm
To the watery crossroads of the dry places,
To the liquid asphalt of insipid time!
I stare at you from across the room here.
I stare and gawk and hawk at you,
And I feel the pelting rain of desire.
You look good over there, sitting
With beautiful gleaming crossed legs.
“Sorry, beg your pardon,
I say, but have we not met before?
Did we not share beers on the Terrace of Tyre
At sunset?
Did we not tell each other stories,
Old stories of love and betrayal and heartbreak?
At sunset?
Did we not look away from each other,
When stories of new love suddenly emerged,
As with a new sunrise?”
My friend, there is no
Escape from this throbbing hole, no
Escape from this cold numbing wind,
This whirlingly insane wind
Of cold blasts of killing ice.
And I ride here
Ride like a sweating Sultan,
Astride the mighty beast of Tyre!
Perched high in rich raiment,
I wave to the multitudes
I send a salute to the throng!
I ride shotgun here
Ride nice and easy
Like a tanning garçon on his off day,
Like a sitting trog waiting wistfully,
Waiting waiting for gams not intended for him.
My friend, the world turns and turns,
It turns today and tomorrow,
It will turn as the river turns in spring,
It will turn as a woman’s heart turns,
When eyes that once stared ahead, now look away.
It will turn my friends because it has to!
Riding, Riding, Riding….
Downhill now! The insane wind
Assaults me. Harasses me. Accosts me.
It presses its loose lips upon my face,
It seeks the mad blood of passion!
“Let us calm ourselves
Reassure ourselves
That all is right and as planned.
Let us all look at one another!
Let us all nod in agreement!
The days ahead will manifest themselves,
Transfigure themselves,
As blooms upon the water lilies.
In many ways, you are immense,
Prevailing in your purpose,
Radiating all shades of Love’s perseverance
As mysteries unfurl
You are restful,
Peaceful, and undulating with a deep desire to teach
Heal, and inspire
You arouse the senses with your fragrances,
The spirits of old heeding along the waysides
The quiet, silent souls nodding in affirmation
“Resilient, meek, and elegant is she,
Giving and gallant in Love’s guiding wing!”
The mighty Lord smiles in agreement,
His beam lighting every shaded flower
For in truth, every precious petal of hers
Draws these hearts nearer
To the root of her works
To the splendor of her unique magic,
Towards Love and Grace

Freedom:
Tonight is the night I fill the sky
With pure scents of Jasmine and Anise
Tonight people shall rest in peace
For no one shall be a worthless spy
War:
Your dream shall never come true
You are nothing but a shadow on a wall
For you are always in the blue
Even lightning and thunder make you askew
You see, I am the energy people need
I am the one that waters the seed
Without me, the world is nothing
Without me, news will be boring
Freedom:
Ha! Is that what you think?
People treasure me deep within
For I am their twin
I am there writing ink
Haven’t you heard in what you call “news?”
How many repeat the words of “Freedom of speech?”
Behold those who chanted my name
Recording the pages of history
Celebrate not you treacherous monster!
For the people shall rejoice once more
War:
I shall never let you destroy what I have built!
Freedom shall never seep into my soldier’s heart!
For they have no wisdom to make them feel guilt
I shall always have smoke ready to start
Until I demolish the sky;
until I see it cry…
The world shall collapse, turning into dust!!
Damage, chaos, and WAR are a must!!!
Freedom:
Today, people might not see me
But, tomorrow everyone is going to be free
I shall plant unison in today’s children
I shall always whisper into their ears
Awaiting the day where I, Freedom, shall become your fear
The day where you shall turn into DUST!!!
A spell shall be cast to banish you away
Nightmares shall haunt you as you play
War:
Mommy!! You scared me!!!
Look out, Freedom is coming after me!!
HA! What you say is nothing but Fantasies
Fantasies that shall crush you when…
Screams are heard instead of laughter…
Bombing is heard instead of parties…
Thus, I advise you to wipe away every Hope within you
Come, join me, and we shall rule the world…
Freedom:
Never!! Your schemes shall never work on me!!
Enjoy what remains
For it is not more than the ticking of the clock
That shall wipe out your existence
Though War is one of the physical influences in our world,
People might be delightful mirrors from the outside
And an intruder with a gun deep inside
Never nod your head in agreement to one who seems kind
For in the end, the idea of a friend dies with the wind
Always stand up for yourself and do not Always agree on what it said
HARMONY
Harmony is important to handle different areas of life;
your inner self, relationships, health and career. It is
getting in tuned with yourself to know and be conscious
of who you are and finding inner peace and contentment.
Harmony is getting in agreement with your mind and spirit
to know your life’s purpose and to relate, connect and be
in sync with loved ones, family, friends, relatives and others.
Getting in accord with your body for your overall well-being.
Harmony is the key to art and artists perfecting their craft.
It is a principle of art, how the elements work together
in logical progression or relationship and to look and feel
all the elements work as a whole, in unity or unified way.
In Music, it is the combination of simultaneous musical
notes to produce chords or chord progression with pleasing
melody or rhythm or it is simply, the pleasant combination
of notes or music played at the same time, like a symphony.
In vocal music or singing, it is the supplementation of a vocal
melody with additional notes that fit the underlying note.
In Poetry, it is the combination of the topic of the thought,
the words and the sounds for a poem is like a musical chant.
In dance, it is the combination of balance, rest and succession
of movements, like in one direction, pattern, jump, turn, slide.
In drawing, it is the combination of straight lines, angles, space,
curves, proportions, alignments creating sense of togetherness.
Harmony is the principle that produces unity or wholeness,
achieved when the elements come together in a unified way.

I will release
Words of my soul
With flair
And tinted: red--
The color of
My purple heart
Into the night
Where wind breathes
With its might
And melts
Them, in your lips
With no one
Hears us
Except, the stars
Winkling--
In agreement
With our
Silent gasp.
She stands on cliff’s edge in her skimpiest nightie, not caring who sees.
Feeling her connection with the east wind which has always protected her.
The shale-like red rocks have settled, they give her a firm grasp of herself. She goes to the edge.
Peers down, wondering if she should have brought someone else, so there would be a witness.
It is only thirty-two feet to the water, her Dad used to say, before he dove off this cliff.
She watched him do it at least six or eight times during his lifetime, he was 78 the last time.
She had never tried it, never feeling that her swimming was good enough, but today felt different.
She felt invincible today; she had a dream about this, and she knew she had to try as a tribute.
In her father’s honor she takes a dive of faith,
falling rapidly toward the water below.
There is a crack as she hits it, she feels like it has
slapped her face. She is coughing and sputtering.
Underwater, she feels scared and cold, ‘Just like Dad,’
says a whispery voice, startling her.
It is not until she is sitting near a warm fire,
in her home that she remembers a sister she never knew.
Dad always said the cliff had magical powers,
but to develop them, you had to take the plunge.
Her sister was killed in a freak accident when they were little;
she had been a few months old.
She rarely thought of her or the few photos she had of them.
Had her sister been the mermaid in the water?
She ponders this for a bit, as her toes warm up.
The flames nod in agreement. She feels her Dad beside her.
She knows she must go back.
"Bat Crazy 5"
Some say
she was batsh** crazy
life hits the windscreens
in the labyrinth of life
that way
the foot remains pinned
to the metal, fast to the floor
full speed, left brained left hand
holding hard-gripped the gear stick
an upwards inflection, “You know”,
in the Queen’s Land, "all under control"
the open palm under the shaft
moving all the way up to 5,
reflecting on the mirror rearview
she watches the eyes
of her child
dreaming of open highways
the foot remains pinned
to the metal, fast to the floor
full speed, left brained left hand
holding hard-gripped the gear stick
never once moving from 5
the left all the way up to targa 5
right hand up on the wheel
left hand down right up to 5
windows spitting emeralds
like a baphomet
the two finger salute
the other above so below
watches on
"here we go again",
the 1 above it all
watches on
as above so below
that 1's long-suffering
that way, aghast, but resolute,
that 1 has never-ending reserves
of eternal patience
and watches on
perplexed
her mind geared on
how to kill off
a spider
and his sister, next
changing lanes
easier said than done
when you're hell-bent on
Freedom
the highway sign
Happy New Year
flashes ever onwards by,
foot to the floor
left brain baffled
at forgiveness
at Christmas
long gone by
right hand on the wheel
left hand down
open palmed
shifting gears
accelerating increduality
towards the accuracy
in the justice of karma
drivers sitting on both shoulders
inside the vehicle
holding the wheel
the internal speaks
to the universe
listening
for kindness
and answers
on a lost highway
Blue Sky
nods, as if in agreement,
that 1's always amused -
but never confused, that way

“Is it possible to switch dimensions?
There is currently no conceivable way to get to these if they exist, and they may only be possible, not actual. To travel between realities, they need to be in proximity. To be in proximity and not interact, they need to be incompatible. If it is a compatible universe you could travel to, it is already here.”
"Won’t you let me know,
if you made it home that night
Oh won’t you let me know
If our bones made it home alright..."
He crouches behind a false wall…hoping, praying,
Listening carefully to the commotion outside.
A knock on the door, another, two more!
They kick the door in and storm inside.
Men with rifles, boys with guns,
Searching, preying, abducting, killing,
They turn over the table and kick over a few chairs,
As they search every nook and corner of the building.
Finding nothing they eventually leave,
He heaves a sigh of relief
He looks at his wife, tears streaming down her face,
They nod in agreement, it is time to leave.
As night draws near, they sneak outside,
Scanning the place for the infidels.
He carries a rucksack, it’s all that they have,
A few clothes, some photos and some medicine.
She follows along, her son in her arms,
They make their way to the sea shore;
They stop in their tracks, their hearts skips a beat…
A gunshot, another, two more!
A man walks towards them, a gun in his hand,
They kneel, he comes in a little closer;
He asks where they are going, they don’t say a word
The child starts crying, they think it’s all over.
Then the man asks them to follow him,
They stand up and do as they are told.
He takes them to a place where there stands a boat,
He takes all their money and asks them to get aboard.
A few hours later, the silence breaks...
A scream, another, two more!
The boat is sinking they jump in the water,
Their life-jackets barely keep them afloat.
A woman beside them struggles to swim,
He takes off his life-jacket and gives it to her,
He asks his family to keep on swimming,
He promises to meet them on the shore.
Later that day she waits on the beach,
A body washes up, another, two more!
She cries as she hugs her dear little boy,
He should be proud, his dad was a hero.
They turn and start walking towards the city
Refugees, aliens, total unknowns;
Some strangers walk up to help them
A new friend, another, two more.
-I wrote this poem based on the true stories of refugees, that have been highlighted on the Facebook page, "Humans Of New York". I want to dedicate this to all those going through the current refugee crisis. Our prayers are with you.
