Lin, sorry to hear, as I am sick too
But I know it's not covid or the flu
Been blowing my raw nose
Sneezing still comes and goes
Maybe this cold needs a brandy or two
Written by Tania Kitchin
Hi poets, I've not been ignoring you
I've been battling the naughty germ, the flu
Writing this just to say
Feeling better today
I'll catch up on comments. Merci beaucoup!
Written by Lin Lane
Poor Tania and Lin are both ailing
I’m healthy but my muse is sailing
Away on a cruise
So I’ve got the blues
My chagrin is not worth detailing!
Written by Jan Allison
What I'm about to tell you is no lies
And it may come to you as a surprise
That all your sneezes
And all your wheezes
Are caused by covid virus in disguise
Written by Tom Cunningham
Tania and Lin, want to make a confession
They went out on the town for a session
But some bug sneezed in their wine,
On his way back from Des Moine’s
Now Feds have nailed him for indiscretion
Written by David Kavanagh
Poor Tania and Lin are both sick
In blighty we say Tom and Dick
But struck by girl flu
We men would boo hoo
So I’m getting out of here QUICK!
Written by Terry Flood
Our friends, Lin and Tania- feeling ill
Seems they both have a cough, cold...and a chill
They wrote each other a letter
To make each other feel better
So, their hubbies could get back on the pill
Written by Charles Messina
Everyone feels sick at the same darn time
This is a get well limerick in rhyme
No more sneezing issues
You've used all the tissues
Drink some tequila and suck on a lime!"

You live on an island not at all on an island
But smack, in the middle of life,
The center of our small word loving society
If it weren't for you, I had drowned
In that Soup-sea of incomprehensible
rules for autists.
It isn't strange for hubbies to say: "I love you".
So there you go ;)
Ask your first hubby if we can share
to eternity and back, because that
would be so lovely.
Jan, life kicks us so hard sometimes
but we kick back with a vengeance!
One day we'll swim that canal
and meet halfway on our rubber duckies
Smiling broadly and drinking
ginger tea.

The cock wakes her up in the morning
she loves his cocka doodle ring
its longer then hubbies thing
thicker then a piece of string
Perhaps a vibrator that sings ?

I need to make some calls but I can't even use this phone of mine.
I live in a hick town and me and my neighbors have a partyline.
People are always squaking on their phones and I've had enough.
When I ask the people to hang up, they tell me to get stuffed.
I need to make some important calls but I'm out of luck.
Women are gossiping all day long and that really sucks.
When I asked them to stop gossiping, their hubbies broke down my door.
They each took turns punching me and I wound up eating the floor.
When they finished beating on me, I was in a lot of pain and I'm still wearing a cast.
This is the twenty-first century for Pete's sake, partylines should be a thing of the past.
If you move to my neighborhood, buy a cellphone or you'll be driven out of your mind.
I'm not kidding when I tell you that it's both annoying and dangerous to have a partyline.
(This is a fictional poem.)

I need meat on Valentine ’s Day
A Love Sausage was on display
We will eat one tonight
And to hubbies delight
Much later he will get a lay
But hubby keeps pestering me.
To see my ‘pasties’ after tea.
I will give him some hassle.
About my titty tassle,
Cos they are not very comfy
I admit, yes I have to confess,
A love sausage brought from M & S,
Is a valentines treat,
Cos I do love my meat,
And there’s ‘pasties’ under my dress!
Fictional Poem For Libralori who loves eating Croissant's, thanks for the inspiration!
*M & S is a British Store, they are selling 'love sausages' for Valentine's Day

A HABITAT OF MODEL AND A MEDAL: BAHAY KUBO
Our bahay kubo*
Is an achievement
And a dream come true
For us to dwell and live
On this simple hut
Whose inspiration I’ve drawn satisfaction
Indeed: I had gotten: A model and a medal.
Why would I say this, a self-reverenge
A MODEL “coz
This is a design
Typical of a Filipino
Worldwide known as Nipa Hut*
Is amply commemorated identity as a race
It’s simple and yet it generates
Patriotism, love strength, upheavals
Unity and success
A model in itself not anymore a caricature
Of value but a realism.
Be it poor, underdeveloped
It was conceived with faith, love and peace
A place for rest and recreation
A hub for hubbies
A hide-away from the crazy world
A stop-over for a voyage
And a playground as well as a battleground
Shared for all by forebears.
And, then also, a MEDAL
More than a bronze, silver or a gold
This hut, hub or a habitat for living things
Is an achievement, an accomplishment for greatness
Which I have a strong convictions of honor
And heroism deserving of a prize, reward and a medal
It is a tremendous height of wisdom
Hot, hut model and a medal!
*bahay kubo--- small hut
*Nipa Hut---native house in the Philippines, synonym of bahay kubo

Deprived pilgrim wives ruminated
On ways to get hubbies elated:
After Thanksgiving chow
Ogling men hollered “wow!”
As wet-shirted women they rated.

A GEM THAT TRICKS
A Aficionados of gems find this gem emerald by day, ruby by night
G Gem so rare and ravishing turns trickster in the light
E Embellishment in gold to adorn your beloved’s ring or pendant
M Mother Nature’s chameleon in stone, shiny and resplendent !
T This shares its status as June birthstone with cultured pearl and moonstone
H Hosts a magic show this pleochroic gem through its dramatic colour tone
A Alexandrite is this precious gemstone genuinely gracious sans prudery
T This mined in the Urals, named after Czar, seen in prized estate jewellery
T The ladies with pride can flaunt one stone as two, in day and in night
R Radiating green or purplish red matching their dresses with delight
I Invest once on this dear hubbies, it will save you from demand twice
C Chrysoberyl is the embedded mineral causing colour changes so nice
K Kaleidoscope of gems this is with vivid hues and healing energy
S Strengthens creativity and intuition as believed in astrology!

If I could sell away some baggage
Tears and fears would be first to list
My hubbies lackadaisacal attitude
My sore joints and perfectionist tendencies
My son's messiness and lack of sage
Clutter and papers need not exist
Inheritance clutter has in'eptitude
Weighing heavy on my thoughts

We met up for a coffee
to enjoy a ‘little chat’
and catch up on the gossip
I guess most gals do that!
Chris gave me a bag of goodies
it sure gave my heart a lift
A puzzle book to keep me busy
was a very thoughtful gift
A box of hand made ginger fudge
and a bar of Cadbury’s choc
I’ll be ripping off their wrappers -
good job they don’t have a padlock!
The final gift really made me smile
a pocket sized pack of little tissues
for mopping up tears of laughter
and not for hubbies cancer issues!
I met up with my wonderful friend Chris a couple of days before we flew off for my hubby to start his cancer treatment, her gifts were absolutely perfect especially the puzzle book as there is a lot of waiting around time and who doesn’t need candy to give them a lift!

The essence of marriage, “even when you're right, you're wrong!”
A well-known phenomenon that becomes even truer as we move on
It goes both ways methinks
Because I'm a male Sphinx
I've been more inclined to go with hubbies all along

Some folks buy choc'lit for almost every special event.
I've heard of hubbies buying it for discord to prevent!
But I don't need a motive or any momentous occasion.
I'll savor that ambrosia anytime, with little or no persuasion!
Choc'lit white, light or dark, it really matters not.
Better yet with nuts! Now that really hits the spot!
'Tis the nector of the gods as that rich, pure choc'lit
Oozes over and saturates a delectable banana split!
Should my spouse ever muse, "Whatever shall I bake?"
My reply will always be, "I want a German choc'lit cake!"
And there's no better way my taste buds to seduce,
Than to end a sumptuous meal with a creamy choc'lit mousse!
When on occasion too many rum-filled choc'lits I ate,
It made me somewhat giddy and difficult to navigate!
My feelings you would certainly never, ever ruffle,
Should you deign to offer me a gooey choc'lit truffle!
The return to dust is inevitable - it we cannot postpone,
So I've concocted this epitaph to etch upon my stone:
"Dear Lord, be merciful as my eternal bourne I begin;
Please forgive me, a chocoholic, should it be deemed a sin!"

Two identical twin sisters, Mary and Sue
Wiggled their way to maturity
As twin sisters often do
Passed notes in K-5, then their
Grades took a dive, in high school
Which they slept through
More dead than alive
So to community college they went
Part of a big tent of immigrants
Flunk-outs and folks who rent
There they shaped up, earning all A's
Entered the 'Big U' at the end of the day
Where all their friends were bi, trans or gay
But they managed their courses to pass
And swish-boom-bang-fast
They got married and each had two kids
When as so often happens to sister twins
They wondered with silly grins
"What kind of pickle have we put ourselves in?"
We really aren't happy, and our hubbies are sappy
Our kids wear us out, all their pissing, so crappy
We don't even know if we're straight or we're gay
"We'd better start over,"
That's what they said
So that's what they did
Passing notes to each other
As sister twins identical often do
~ Oh, brother!

While those piggies huskies tummy’s are muddy

Once upon a time, love was equivalent to sex,
But in this modern era, this twenty-first century,
What do you, think love is?
I would personally define love as:
A lovers caress, A mothers hug and a friends loyalty.
Lovers hold each other close to thier hearts,
And point of correction, love has no relation with lust,
A caress is sweet, gentle, soothing and satisfying,
Lovers make you feel owned and cherished,
He never leaves due a broken limb,
And she never leaves you due to a dried pocket,
Love stays and hold it doesnt end with death but goes beyond.
The first thing a mother does is to bond with her baby after delivery,
She feels the pains of her child from a distance of two continents,
She puts the life of her young before her own, ask the hen.
Dont tell me youre a friend and you have a loose tongue,
Or succumb your way into my hubbies bed,
You should be able to die for me as my friend,
Or so I think, just dont be the one to kill me,
Thats what I percieve as love.
