Premium Member Hold Back the Sun

The curtains riffled by a breeze, intrudes upon the solitude
....Please, let us warn them, if we must, to restrain the hour once again,
for we intrust to weave this time to be our sacred interlude

So, a dawning sun lays softly still, resting on the golden hills
softer than a white moth's wing, ... sifting light upon the sill

Your hands are guided by the dawn...
no use pretending we will rise, to view the morning sun...
Or that we choose this time to sleep for, less than that,
which claims the heart,... comes wild with strokes of fondled touch
the essence, of ecstatic love, ... as old as time itself

And as for now, ...desire's plea,
demands the trace upon my face,
while other needs will beckon thee
to trace thy fingers eagerly, .... across my bone and flesh

I beg of thee, suspend all time, ...with nothing spared
content to hold our secret nest, ...against the dawn of time

Caressed, by daylight on the crest
a fading moon, will find retreat
as the sun delays, without defeat,... where it remains, in compromise

Your whispered breath, upon my ear
will halt the sun, from coming near, ... until we fill our love complete...

..... and then it will arrive

Hold Back

I don't want to lose you,
We vowed this life is ours to share,
If these words are really true,
We could have a perfect love affair.

You said you really want me,
Yet you're letting us fall apart,
Am I too blind to see,
If only I had known from the start.

All you do is hold back,
Hold back the fever,
All you do is make me feel,
Like there is nothing real,
In you heart.

All you do is hold back,
Hold back the hunger,
You are making me cry,
I don't know why,
You hold back.

Hold back your love ...

Hold back, Little Heart,
Hold back the deluge of love
That threatens to gush out
From your portals
Hold back!

The object of your affection
May only require sprinkles
Tiny showers
Droplets of those emotions
That you keep in store
Hold Back!

The flood of your feelings
That could drench him to the core
Could also drown him
If he is not strong enough to swim
In your boundless sea
Hold back!

Though overwhelmed, Little Heart
Hold Back!
Know that you will not perish
With the weight of the love you bear
Keep it in check
Till one who is worthy
Gently knocks on your door
Who having tasted the droplets,
Comes thirsty for more.

Then let the floodgates go, Little Heart
Don’t hold back...one tiny drop
Set the pent up torrents free
And in that flood of passion
You will find your release!

Premium Member Can'T Hold Back My Tears

Sometimes I wish I could hold back my tears.
Like when I get hurt by someone dear
or when there's no one near
to comfort my fears.
Can't hold back my tears
when that miracle happens
and my heart is filled with joy
and I'm overwhelmed.
My very soul fills with cheer
and the tears begin to show.
Can't hold back my tears
when my ears listens to the things
not meant to hear,
and my throat begins to choke
fighting back a deep sear.
As my eyes become soaked
the flow slowly trickles my face.
Can't hold back my tears
when living and giving is a joy,
changing lives of others,
and the face is not a color,
just an expression of gratitude
and love for one another.
Can't hold back my tears
when in the beginning
the ending was already spinning
and time kept going and the universe
kept growing, out of control.
I wish I knew the exact date
before it gets too late.
Maybe the script could be
rewritten and we, the people,
could stop this mass destruction.
Can't hold back my tears
when babies and children are hurting,
families deserting one another,
money, drugs, and guns
now more important then life,
and I start to cry
for yet another innocent life taken.

I Will Not Hold Back

I will not hold back

My dreams have traveled
As far as the heavens exists . . .
And beyond

I have created my own dimensions
That I may dwell
In a certain certifiable solitudionous state
Where I visit
To reclaim my ‘Self’
And recover my divine balance

I have looked into the eyes
Of ‘Reciprocity’
And saw my self
Looking back at me
Examining my
Authenticity

I have spawned
Alternative lives.
Existences
That I have lived to their fruition
In but a
Blink of the eye

I saw you there

My heart has danced
To the undulating rhythms
Of concordant harmonies
Shared betwixt
The Waves of the Oceans,
The Moon
And the Mother of all things . . .
Earth

The pathways and the waters
Of Life
May be uncharted
But have I not been this way . . .
Before ?

I have sang along
With many different types
Of birds
Emulating their charming
Chatter, chirping
And the characterizations
Of their presence
And congruity

I have peered
With my naked primal eye
At the Sun,
The Moon
And the Stars
Embracing my endless possibilities
And all that may be
Can be,
Will be
And is

I saw you there as well

I have thought about things
Until I was high on them;
I have thought about things
Until I believed
There was no way out
Of the abyss
I created
From my own consciousness

I have even though about things,
Until my head began to hurt,
And my spiritual zeal
Wilted
Like the dated and
Unnurtured flowers
In the Gardens of Hope

I live mostly
With my heart on my sleeve,
But from time to time,
There are vagrant weeds,
Fears
And doubts
That visit my doorstep
Hoping to claim my abode
As a home
And share space
Along with my ego
And it’s un-founded esteem

My ‘Soul’ is of all things
And all things are
Of my ‘Soul’
And the truth of ‘it’
And all of its darkness
And grandeur
Can be found
‘Right Here’
In the ‘Singular’
We call ‘Now’

Will not you sing along with me
As we skip through this journey of wonder,
Wandering here and there
With no particular agendas . . .
But love

I see you there . . .

Me . . .
I will not hold back

Don'T Hold Back (Diatelle)

Give
Till it hurts
Give all you’ve got
When you’re done, give them more
They will then appreciate you
Not for what you gave, but for your giving
After all, it’s not what you give, but if you give
That lets a person know that you do care
Making them always feel so loved
Giving them new feelings
Then about you
Showing them
Heart

Premium Member Hold Back the Night

Hold back the night

She was a chestnut haired beauty,
standing there all alone...
I knew that I... had to get close to her,

She had a stare that could melt
your heart... if she wanted to...
I felt... something deep and warm start to stir

The night was still young, but both
of us well... not so much...
I knew that I... had to make her mine

She had an elegant way, and a soft...
tender touch...
If I could...I'd hold back... the hands of time

Chorus
So please hold back the night,
I don't want this to end
everything feels so right,
this is true...not pretend
so please, hold back the night,
please don't say we're just friends
so please hold back the night,
wish this night never ends

She told me straight to my face...
that, love was not kind to her...
I could see she needed, someone to hold

I wrapped my arms around...
and I tried to comfort her...
Cos, too many times she'd been left in the cold

Chorus
So please hold back the night,
I don't want this to end
everything feels so right,
this is true...not pretend
so please, hold back the night,
please don't say we're just friends
so please hold back the night,
wish this night never ends

We spent the night at the station...
waiting for the early train
I fought desperately to hold back the night

She said I'd made her feel better...
would we ever meet again?
I said sure... cos it just felt so right

Chorus
So please hold back the night,
I don't want this to end
everything feels so right,
this is true...not pretend
so please, hold back the night,
please don't say we're just friends
so please hold back the night,
wish this night never ends

I called her two days later to see...
if she was ok
She said, that she ...was doing just fine

I didn't know, that Toronto would
be our favorite place
So glad... I tried to hold back... that night

Chorus
So please hold back the night,
I don't want this to end
everything feels so right,
this is true...not pretend
so please, hold back the night,
please don't say we're just friends
so please hold back the night,
wish this night never ends

please hold back the night
please hold back the night
please hold back the night

Don'T Hold Back

Don't hold back
Gave but
 don't expect back
Before I was born
It was said
givers never lack
Doe some use it as
An avenue of extortion
Yet like a truth
The great are those that gave
Their are more to come
When you gave

Don't hold back
If you got it inside
Express it outside
It you got the idea
Share it out
If you understand the truth
Don't hold back

Don't hold back
when you know a
Truth and hold back
That makes you
part of the problem

Don't hold back
Don't fear
Don't fail to move
Don't with draw that in you
Don't hold back yourself
From your dreams
And aspiration
Your life could save another
Your vission could be the solution
For others to be part of the living

Don't hold back
The brave always hold on
The man of value never gave up
The earth need you
Our generation is in need of all
Who cares, and act
Don't with hold back
that you know
Don't hold back to fear
Oh my love
My dear brothers
My lovely beautiful sisters
People all over Africa
All over the globe
Hold on
Don't hold back

Dont Hold Back

In the darkness not a soul in sight
Outnumbered but still join the fight
All around you there’s no where to turn
It’s time to sink or swim I know you’ll learn
Stand your ground there’s no where to run
Gave it your all don’t hold back for anyone

O Death! Hold Back Thy Sting!!

Crippled by a serious deformity,
And imposed masterly inactivity,
Gloomed by utter poverty,
Many wail in anguishing adversity.

A waif, a forlorn wanderer,
A clueless shipwrecked brother,
A totteringly striding blind,
A helping hand is all they need!

Not for the riches, not for the power,
Not to revel in Heavenly pleasure,
But to them, my help, mirth shall bring,
Hence O cruel death! Hold back------

Hold back thy venomous sting,
Hold back thy venomous sting!
Hold back thy venomous sting!!

Hold Back the Dawn

One early morning in May
Just before the break of day,
I spied a haggard looking Sun
Appearing to be on the run,
Bedraggled but feigning zest
Oh, was seen rising from the west!

Sneaking behind some clouds,
Like a thief hiding in shrouds,
Scurrying towards home eastwise,
From where each morn he must rise.

The sun it seems got lost,
Carousing out and about
after all night on a hot date
with a pretty twinkling starlet,
Dancing away to the rhythm and rhyme,
Alas, the sun failed to rise on time!

Scared of what Mother Nature would say
Why didn't he in the east stay,
And terrified of Father Time
the sun could not smile or shine.

The day failed to dawn that way,
And the world got to sleep another day!

Hold Back the Rain

Hold back the rain
   just a little while.
Let the clouds gray the sky
but hold the flood gates closed.
Hold back the chilled wind
up in the trees high above.
Let the warm remain
   just a little longer.
Hold the color of the leaves
   in brilliant reds and yellows.
Let the oranges and the greens
cling tight and unrelenting on each branch.
Hold the end of autumn standing still
   with soft pastel sunsets.
Let the night inch slowly
   earlier each evening.
Hold back the silence of dusk
   whispering each sad goodbye.
Let the earth sing loud and vibrant birdsong
amidst the chatter of the squirrels.
Hold silent the caw of the crows
  once sharp, repetitive and shrill.
Let the scary tingle of their cries
  slip away into the cold.
Hold steady and still
   this moment in time.
Let it not step forward
   or back
Hold me safe in the here and now
   before the rains come.

Premium Member Hold Back the Dawn

My love, my life
You whom I adore
Hear me now
I ask but one thing of you
For this, only you can do
I implore and beseech
As for your arms I reach
Hold back
Hold back the dawn

Let me stay in your arms
Where there is safety and warmth
Where my dreams nestle deep
In your arms, they will keep
In my nest of paradise
Where all that I am
I see in your eyes
Where our passions reign
Where there is no pain
Come, come now my love
Will you not hear my plea?
Will you not grant this request?
Please grant it to me….
Hold back
Yes, hold back the dawn

With the dawn dawns the reality
That my life ebbs away
Nothing I can say
Will bring back one day
Caught up in mundane
I’m driven insane
For all want a part
Of my sensitive heart
The world has demands
Little it understands
Of my needs and desire
Of my bright inner fire
Within my four walls
Release sweetly calls
Tonight is all I have
Tonight my respite
Tonight my fantasy
Tonight my paradise
Tonight my destiny

Oh, my heart, my love
Grant this to me
Set my heart free
Please....
Hold back
Hold back the dawn
