Hold Back the Dawn
My love, my life
You whom I adore
Hear me now
I ask but one thing of you
For this, only you can do
I implore and beseech
As for your arms I reach
Hold back
Hold back the dawn
Let me stay in your arms
Where there is safety and warmth
Where my dreams nestle deep
In your arms, they will keep
In my nest of paradise
Where all that I am
I see in your eyes
Where our passions reign
Where there is no pain
Come, come now my love
Will you not hear my plea?
Will you not grant this request?
Please grant it to me….
Hold back
Yes, hold back the dawn
With the dawn dawns the reality
That my life ebbs away
Nothing I can say
Will bring back one day
Caught up in mundane
I’m driven insane
For all want a part
Of my sensitive heart
The world has demands
Little it understands
Of my needs and desire
Of my bright inner fire
Within my four walls
Release sweetly calls
Tonight is all I have
Tonight my respite
Tonight my fantasy
Tonight my paradise
Tonight my destiny
Oh, my heart, my love
Grant this to me
Set my heart free
Please....
Hold back
Hold back the dawn
