Hocus Pocus

Poets are like magicians.
They trick the heart into feeling,
“things” they had no idea, were there at all.

Sadly poets don’t always know how their tricks work.
They sit and think, and study, and hope and even pray.
They are prone to mistakes and misinterpretations.

Yet…

Poets, dare to dream in colors,
of blue, and yellow, and green.
They sing songs to no one,
people that can barely hear at all.
They make jokes that people miss,
sometimes on purpose.

“May I read you this?” a courageous voice in the crowd.

Met with scoffs and “Oh my’s” or worse.
“How long will it be, why did you bother?”
“Will it make me laugh or smile?”
“Perhaps I do not want to feel that way!”

Then…
they leave their words,
lying on the ground.
Un...cared for.

A blessing,
they are found…
treasures all around.
words on a page, a tiny perfect stage.

When we are alone,
not being what others say we are…
we are closer to ourselves and not far from Him.

Some of us, not all of us, but a few…
look at the words and dare to consider,
to ponder how it feels to fly, from a wheelchair,
to sing without a voice,
to laugh at yourself,
and even…
dare to love.

Hocus Moon

she looks on earth with joyless eye
beneath her light, the lonely cry
and so I'll pluck her from the sky

happis crappis, alakazam
eye of newt and elephant yam
a conjured spell on mystic sphere
I'll tug my ear and call her near
then pluck the moon out of the sky

by strange magic or hocus trick
I’ll tempt her with a wand or stick
out of the sky, out of the sky
I'll pluck the moon out of the sky

companionless before the day
still in her mist, the hopeful pray
then watch her slowly fade away

abracadabra, witches' brew
compel her light to cast askew
will her to pleasure, not give pain
so I ordain; by morning, wane
her loveless light shall fade away

her pale shadow will end the show
then wait the dawn, her fleeting glow
will fade away, will fade away
her loveless light will fade away.

Loves Hocus-Pocus

I will cast spell by love’s hocus-pocus
Believe me jaan it’s not at all bogus
I will become formula of your math
I will become the water of your bath
I will become your most favorite food
I will keep you healthy happy and good
I will become your life’s sweet spring season
I will become your life and death’s reason
I will become oxygen that you breathe
I will make our love story a great myth

Hocus Bogus: a Curse That Could Be Worse

HOCUS BOGUS, BOGUS POCUS!
A hex on the dryers of you who owe us
A pox on your socks never to be found
Unwound and pulled down underground
I voodoo better than you do, and you'll rue
The day you walked my way because I knew
If I'm toil and trouble, you're definitely double
So bubble bubble grow no more than stubble
It might seem weird as something feared
But I know you've always wanted a beard!
You think I'm too lily livered to deliver?
Just wait until I conjure... A WOODEN SLIVER
Didn't think this is something you'd fear?
You'll think twice when near tweezers disappear!
Such sorcery the likes you've never seen
An enchantress so mean there's never been
My final vengeance enclosed in this vile
You cry and I smile, I fly while you're in a pile
A potion with eye of storm and tongue of twist
And whatever else is on my list, with a flick of the wrist
I cast a spell you cannot quell that’s straight from hell
You’ll swell as you yell in pain as you fell
Unable to imagine such a fate is more than fable
As your pinky toe catches the corner of a coffee table!

Heebiejeebie Hocus-Pocus

Don't forget your incantations
Gods wait with inoculations
Only for you and your relations
Have faith my friend, in creation
Above all else know your station
It depends on where you're from
Allah, Buddha, Genghis Khan
Which ever one takes your fancy
Mono, pantheistic religious candy
Your God created Beetles apparently
(But mostly Beetles ...actually)
So prepare yourself for the rapture
Avoid being caught on the crapper
Change underwear before you die
Never know when ya need to fly
Hocus-pocus kneel and pray
Wait your turn for judgement day

Sometimes I order hobby items from China
I love scrapbooking supplies
The package was in the mailbox today
could not remember I had something on my order list
Maybe something I had forgotten
At first I was just surprised by what I saw
A small bag of seeds and a sample image
of a plant with real diamonds ... no flowering
yes, you heard right ... an unrealistic statement
"Seeds that give you wealth" was written on the bag
I planted my seeds and watered them a little every day
Waited patiently, but nothing happened
It's not fun to be fooled, but life goes on
And life is a mixture of jokes and seriousness

Hocus Pocus, Balderdash,
Newspapers print horror and trash.
Oligarchs hungry for extra cash,
To add to their enormous stash.

Nervous police officers feel the heat,
When they caution terrorists in the street,
They no longer walk the beat,
They have cars with safety seats.

Police cars drive around at night,
Warning louts that curse and fight,
Often these thugs take flight
Making the cops chase them with all their might.

Sadly the world needs cops.
We will need them until the crime rate stops.
When you see someone coming, a cropper
Phone the station, and they will send a copper.

Hocus Pucus

At every birth is God, by whom
each lifespan is decided,
and when One spends another year,
a cherubim will then appear
to note the age, lest one spend more
than what the Lord's provided...

...and in the wood, behind the thick,
Medieval wenches, ravenous
for skin that clings to flesh like silk,
and in light shimmers, pale as milk,
have a special, ghastly trick
for keeping health like maidens:

Bring a victim to your palms
and hold It to your lips,
purse them, then consume the soul
(slowly; never take it whole,
or leave It even partly full—
waste not a bit!) in sips.

Mind the age of every one;
the rest of what's allotted
upon ingestion of a soul
will be reckoned with your own
longevity, it should be know—
by children, be besotted!

Stay you healthy, young and fine,
for ever uneclipsed,
and them stay humanly resigned,
until they separate, in time,
as we're each to eternity
eternally affixed!

Hocus Pocus

I found a book of ancient spells
It’s hard to read and it smells
I found it at a German bookstore
“My current meal is such a bore,
so this spell I scream and shout
give me a heaping wad of sauerkraut”

Woozy the witch fuelled up her chrome studded besom

Which was parked in the garage at the Cromlech at noon

She polished dusted and oiled the vintage broom’s motor

And applied magic spittle to fix butterfly wings and a rotor

Filled the hydraulic suspension with liquefied fairy dust

Serviced the turbocharged engine to ensure its robust

To weather belligerent storms and spells of bad nature

She made sure that bristles complied with Wiccan legislature

The Aberystwyth Magician’s Convention had been updated

To secure that tail twigs and seat were unicorn plated

Also that camshaft and pistons were organically manufactured

So when Celtic crosses adorned the chassis it became enraptured

Her lover soul-wizard had called for nocturnal cohabitation

High up in the sky so there was no room for any cunctation

She was the proud owner of a caravan feather duster model

With floor heating and magic carpets for passionate cuddle

They had to be careful though as not to inflate the air cushions

With too speedy pushing and pulling there might be repercussions

Not entirely slowly either because romping in a lay by in standstill

Would get them a parking ticket and the vehicle to go downhill

For that very purpose they had enlisted a strong busy bee elf

So when the chronometer ticked forward and rested on twelve

They came together with the help of sandalwood aphrodisiac potion

Holly jelly completed the feast when they changed tempo and position

The morale of the midnight star spanked romp is easily told

Take care of your vehicle and follow precautions when bold

Life is too short to have interrupted coital climax and pleasure

And thus you must adhere to abracadabra if you treasure your leisure

Hocus Pocus

centuries living and walking amongst creatures
reminded to accept our different eclectic features
seeking prophetic teachers
where are the righteous preachers
overwhelmed, we are by distractions
unable to comprehend the universal laws of attraction
they have been ignored
nature's officially in war
fish and turtles flopping dead on beach shores
natural disaster's increasing
animal species decreasing
birds falling out of the sky
anyone questioning why
pondering could things be any more tragic
as if someone is dabbling in black magic
conjuring spells like that evil Aleister Crowley magician
we still can't trust some scientist and physicians
most of man incapable of human emotions
the world is confused, full of commotion
is all of this just simply written
that apple did get bitten
end of times explained in Olivet Discourse
everyone programmed to fear the pale horse
thought processes obstructed
mentals being abducted
the time is now to focus
steering far from the hocus pocus

Hocus Pocus

Better days don't come easily without effort.
You'll most likely have to repeat the 3peat.
You can't reach me without a spaceship.

Follow me if you want to live on Mars.
He who does not ride with me will become ashes.
Go into the infirmary once you're out of the flames.

Hocus Pocus is the name of the game and you'll NEVER escape.
Are you a witch or giant I don't care what other people see, only I can judge who I wanna be.
