Best Hockey Game Poems

Premium Member Mr Smith

Now I ask you this
A more common name you will not find
Cities have thousands of them
Small towns have at least one
Why pretty much everywhere you go
You will find a Mr. Smith

Why once in china
In the middle of nowhere
This old Chinese man came out of his hut
Shook my hand
Said , Ni Hoa me Mr. Smith
I was truly and duly shocked
Being a Smith, he made me tea and served me lunch

Go to any hockey game and I will tell you this
In the stands
There will be 1000's and more
of Smiths, Mr. and Misses and all manner of Smiths
Why even the Montreal Canadians have one!!!
Now if you turn around, there will be a smith behind
The odds say this is true, and thankfully for all,
To hold a door open
To help an old lady across the street
The Smiths are gods angels
Lending a helping hand
Love and good cheer, you know a smith is near

Now you may ask me how I know all this to be true
The answer is quite simple you see
I know a Tim Smith
A kinder man you will not find
A family that loves him
Friends that appreciate him
A tavern that knows him by first name
Someone who always buys me a DRINK!!!!
A man of loyalty this is for sure
What else explains a Blackhawks fan?

So I tip my hat to my friend Tim
I raise a glass of good cheer and salute
To a family man of honor
With a heart of gold for those lucky enough
To know Him
Cheers

Hockey War

Imagine life without a war,
And just a hockey game to score,
When countries start to point the blame,
They take it out in a hockey game.

If someone threatens our coastline,
We face-off on the centre-line,
A slap-shot and a body-check,
By the hockey team from old Quebec.

We'd never need a military,
A hockey team is much more scary,
Instead of running all amuck,
The one who wins, controls the puck.

The winner of this hockey war,
Would best be known as "Hockey Corps",
We'd celebrate a "Hockey Hour",
With Canada, the World Power.

The Big Hockey Game

I'm in the locker room,
our team is ready to zoom

Equipment is on,
for there is a game to be won

The music is playing,
nervous, my body is shaking

The game, just moments away,
it's the highlight of my day

Butterflies in my belly,
I hope our team is ready

Coaches go over our strategies,
of course, we don't want any penalties

Last second thoughts race through my head,
I'll make it a game that I won't dread

Coach says it's time to play,
I want a win for my red and gray

Now is my time, I got to go,
see you after the game, when I'm covered in snow

Premium Member Bad Ice

What a disappointment, and not very nice,
when a hockey game is cancelled for bad ice.
For some reason, the refrigeration unit goes on the blink.
Because of it, there is rough and inconsistent ice on the rink.
There will be no slap shots, checking, and scoring of a goal.
It’s just like getting a Christmas stocking full of coal.
There will be no lights and sirens, and not even one fight.
The teams will have to give it a go on another night.

Golf

Maybe I'll go to the driving range this afternoon. Hit a few. Oh that's right. I have a chronic pain in my back... Maybe I'll go home and have a beer; maybe watch a hockey game. I keep forgetting the storm knocked out the cable last night. Maybe I'll get into a profound conversation with the wife. I keep forgetting she's not happy with me. Maybe I'll die in obscurity. Maybe I'll just fade away... I guess I'll postpone the golf game... Save it for another day...

Premium Member Hockey the Expensive Sport

The expensive sport
Is the hockey game
Big kids and small
Play at the arena

Many sports fans watch
The hockey games
Hockey is expensive
Uniforms cost money

The hockey sticks and pucks
Together these items add up
Ice skates are needed
These are special skates

To purchase the skates
Its a big price
Then more spending
Oh more money spent
When going out of town

Staying in hotels and plus food
So the game can be played

Like a Boss

LOL (Laugh out loud) xD
I love your effort
Kangaroo hops
Easy and hard hits

A little better than before

BAM (Be a man) o.o
Owning the Hockey Game
sssssslither like a snake
Sam! You're like a boss - Ooh! Like a boss
(hey man...sorry for my loss)

Metronome Moaning

A fistful of a metronome is an organic matter in a metro dome. Fish not a pirate ship and swim swim swim. Great isn't it. Marvel at the many passing floating cakes that arrive. And mirror not a choice of words fir remarkable is never found in a plastic case. It is quite unnatural you see. And unnatural means not characteristic. So upon playing charades with rain drops be aware the shape they create upon landing. Mission beams from above. Callously charming chequered chins. And it is not to be said that a yawning yacht equals tiredness. It is the laundry from a vested belt that breeds the spawn. So suit on a sawn off **** gun attends a hockey game and the pistol in a pink top scores. Underneath the ironing board. Sails snails and pails. Squalid yet atmospheric. And indifference is neither a sign of acceptance nor thought. Ho ho ho to all that. Ran the hahaha out of range earlier. Dare to dance with the signal box then? ***,, correspondences Z

Premium Member Last Night's Hockey Game

I saw a hockey game last night
It was there that I saw the fight
The one that some saw as a brawl
While others stated, “It’s part of the game after all.”

I saw a hockey game last night
And it made me wonder
Yes I know we have come a long way
But the crowd cheered and the noise felt like thunder.

There were punches
And there was blood.
And the “settling of the score”
And some in the crowd wanted more.

I saw a hockey game once
Perhaps it was played in my mind.
I thought it was played right
I think it took place somewhere outside of time.

Maybe it has yet to happen… I don’t know
Perhaps it happened a long time ago.
And they played for the game
For the love of stick and puck in a having fun domain.

It was hockey and that I’m sure
There was skating on ice and speed
And shots that hit the nets
And the cheers came from the players’ silhouettes.

I saw a fight today
On the internet and it took place not far away.
It happened in a school yard they said
The two wanted to “settle the score”, is what I read.

I saw a hockey game last night
It was there I saw the fight.
The one that some saw as a brawl
While others stated, “It’s part of the game after all.”

My Pet Rocks Tragic Accident

I have a pet rock that i carry everywhere
I love him take care of him treat him with care
I gave him some clothes that fit just right
I gave him a bed to stretch out at night
I gave him a TV for his hockey game
A birth certificate so my friend would have a name
He was sad cause he was small
So i called him bolder to make him feel tall
Bolder was taking a nap one sunny day
When along came the dog and swept him away
I jumped from my chair to try and save my friend
But tragically boulders life came to an end
Than i thought could a rock survive an accident of this kind
Than i remembered what i did when my dog ate my dime
So a bag in one hand in the other the scoop
I fed my dog lots of food and waited for the poop
It took a few days but i got my friend back
We found a home for the dog and now we have a cat

Be Canadian - 2020

Be Canadian, stand together. We'll get through this, if we try.
Stay at home, and help your neighbour, there'll be victory, by and by.

Every day we say good bye to so many as they die
All alone we must perish, all alone we must cry

Front line workers, we salute you. Hope you all can soon go home.
And to you who give your life for us. Such bravery, never known.

Not quite half through twenty twenty and already, we've all seen plenty.
How can we go on each day? When will all this go away?

Afraid my couch is getting worn out. Lately it don't feel the same.
Oh I guess it never will without .. the good old hockey game

Way down deep in the Covid blues. Hanging up our working shoes
Heavy on our minds today, which relief pack shall we choose.

Now the red meat's on the run and old Fort Mac has come undone.
The barrel fell right through the floor. How can it go down some more?

Those who served with such devotion and found the bottom of the ocean.
We are honored by your deeds, as we drown in our emotion.

Teach your children, if you can. With any luck, they'll understand.
Then we'll all go to the couch, we'll go together hand in hand

All the friends of Nova Scotia crying out with grief untold.
How could any of us know how that story would unfold.

Words of love not yet spoken echo now and ever more
In our hearts and on our minds, as we slowly walk the floor

Stay at home and help your neighbor. Maybe won't so many so many die.
Stay at home and teach your children, there'll be victory, by and by.

Premium Member Walking Behind Elephants

Use caution when walking behind elephants son
You don't want to step into a big pile of dung
Take care in passing the pepper to dragons my girl
Just one sneeze and fire will blow you into a whirl
Be ever so polite when riding the unicorn
If rude he may flip you into the horn
Say grace with eyes closed in the eagle's lair
Otherwise she may drop you from up in the air
Never steal home from the brontosaurus team
One swipe with their tail and you've been beamed
Let penguins win the ice hockey game
Losing drives them into flights of insane
Give your entire sandwich to the grizzly bear
Or you may end up on the menu my dears
When sharing your bunk bed with a whale
You take the top or well, well, whale

New Journey

I’ve waited my whole life.

To see those magical dreams come true.

Of hiking in the mountains,

Seeing man’s first step on the moon.

Independence, I learned on my own.

Self worth was so important to me.

Learning who I was, a great education.

Where in the world will I be?

Computers had started to become a beginning.

The technology world was awaiting thee.

Off to college I did go.

Only to earn a degree.

Later at a hockey game, which I loved so much.

A stunning man sat beside me.

Understanding the game, we shared similar things.

Three years later we wed, the happiest we would ever be.

The dream of being a mom.

Holding a newborn, five fingers and five toes.

First steps, reading to them.

Even a silly runny nose.

Now they have wings to fly.

Adults with dreams of their own.

Now a new journey , some call empty nest.

I call it new beginnings at home.
