Hockey the Expensive Sport

The expensive sport
Is the hockey game
Big kids and small
Play at the arena

Many sports fans watch
The hockey games 
Hockey is expensive
Uniforms cost money

The hockey sticks and pucks
Together these items add up
Ice skates are needed
These are special skates

To purchase the skates
Its a big price
Then more spending
Oh more money spent
When going out of town

Staying in hotels and plus food
So the game can be played

Hockey is a very expensive & it also is in every other recreational sport.Put that together with family gym & pool memberships, figure skating, dancing, soccer, plus trips etc. I guess we can thank the govt. for that. Have a wonderful day Darlene, I enjoyed reading your poem.

Money, money money - that is all we seem to pay out nowadays, and as the years pass, we get less for the same amount of money as the cost of living goes up _ I love your poem Darlene, so down to earth and true. Blessings, Jennifer.

Hi Darlene! I adore hockey. Any sport is far from free. But if a child wants to p,ay, three cheers for them. My grandson was in Little League since he was very young. It's quite an expense. Plus parents weekends are no longer their own. Add to that attending MLB GAMES...costly! But far better than tapping a keyboard. I was luck enough to get free passes to hockey games from season ticket holders. I met many Canadian players. Dean Evason, Pat Falloon~ great players.Panagiota xx PS love Zambonis

Hello Panagiota Romios,yes that is right te weekend is not the parents own.Yes hockey games are expensive. But when they have the talent to play hockey then it is worth it.Oh you were very lucky to get free passes. I do not have favourite hocky players. Hugs Darlene

Hello Christopher Flaherty,I do not think it is worth it, when the family is struggling with money. Food and shelter and bills to be paid should come first. Hockey skates cost too much money, along with travelling to games out of town. Golf is alsoexpensive sport to play.
