Best Hard Worker Poems

I Am

I am Tim
I am Tim
Tim I am
That Tim-I-am!
That Tim-I-am!

I do not like
that Tim-I-am!
Do you like
green eggs and ham?
I do not like them,
Tim-I-am.
I do not like
green eggs and ham.

CUT CUT CUT.....That's Dr Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham....now why did I start writing that...Oh I know must have been the 500 times I read it to my 4 year old daughter last weekend...I asked her older sister and two older brothers but no I did read them Dad-I-am!

A father of four and proud of them all
Youngest is still short, my oldest- he's tall
Give to them my time, wouldn't have it any other way
Playing tennis, coaching baseball or driving to ballet

Hard worker, they say, a motor that wont quit
Adapt with a hammer, chain saw or drill bit
Not afraid to get dirty, greasy, smelly or wet
Work sun up to sun down with barely a sweat

My friends are my treasures, I hold them real tight
Each one is special but they all are a delight
If they are ever in need, I'm there in a flash
Bringing comfort, happiness, and the occasional cash

I am quick with the wit and enjoy a good laugh
Not too into vanity, a quick shower no bath
I am a lover of woman and a lover of life
I am married to nature she is a great wife

Grew up rough and tumble, clawing for scraps
Volunteer, mentor, teacher, wore many caps
Wear my heart on my sleeve, shy away from a spat
Tim, Timmy, Timothy...I am who I am and that is that

Equalitoria

To a place with no money
I'm takin' a hike
Where you work for your food
And you build what you like

No permit is needed
For the castle we'd build
No laws must be heeded
For the deer that we'd kill

A town marketplace
Where citizens share
And the stock market crashes
But nobody cares

And the smell of fresh food
Is rich in the air
Cause the barber must eat
For cutting our hair

And the hunters are tired
From catching the game
And the culligan man
Is catching the rain

And the doctors and lawyers
They never complain
They sold their Mercedes'
But they're happy they came

The police are not crooked
Just fat as can be
Not a whole lot to do
When everything's free

Not a single hard worker
Is wanting to leave
There's just one blasted problem
It's only a dream

Premium Member I'M a Stranger That's Homeless

I've been a hard worker all my life
Got married and was loving wife

Me and Al became best friends fast
I just knew our wedded bliss would last

Our family became a total of four
I was so happy, I couldn't ask for more

A friend asked me to go to Vegas
I got super high, it was contagious

I went from middle class to an addict
My home was no longer loving, just conflict

I emptied out our joint account
               It wasn't no small amount

I got fired from job, because I didn't show
My husband kicked me out and said just go

Now I lay on the sidewalk that's now home
I can't sleep at night so I just roam

My life is constantly in danger
And my kids see me as a stranger

A Dedication To He That This Old Poet Truly Admires

Hardened was his sad heart when a mere lad-
Never a kind word, all seemed very bad-
Born a true and strong athlete to behold
Into slavery and dark he was sold,
Emerged an honest man of mighty girth
A living Samson, a man of true worth.
As gentle friend one could truly thank God
Woe to those that felt his wrath or his rod!

Such great prowess one should never deny.
Always willing to give others fair try.

Stone-hard product of American shores
With hand axe, a slayer of savage boars
A majestic hunter of no small fame
Savage man or beast he could and did tame,
A hero returning from the great War
Proof as was seen, his many battle scars.
Never had he ever failed to show might
victor in every hand to hand fight!

Such great prowess one should never deny.
Always willing to give others fair try.

Never one to fear world's darkest powers-
A hard worker, no lover of idle hours-
Racing to do that which others so fear
Holding mother and siblings very dear,
Lover of horses, cats and faithful dogs
A Paul Bunyan one stroke, splitting huge logs.
Rock steady and never once defeated
punishing those who had his friends cheated!

Such great prowess one should never deny.
Always willing to give others fair try.

Rewarded to live to a ripe old age-
Some called hero, others a wise old sage-
Myself, I just loved him as my best friend
True chap that is faithful until the end,
Bright red roses adorn his earthen bed
none daring to walk paths he had once tread.
His life and memory are treasured gold
kind of brave man, I long to be when old!

Such great prowess one should never deny.
Always willing to give others fair try.

Rhyme, (Dedication poem)

Note- Presented as was originally composed, no edits to the verses(body of the work).
I was tempted but then I thought may be best to leave as was felt
and written the first go....
Added the word - "Old" - , to the Title, as seemed fitting since that describes the current state of the author

Because of You

His eyes are amazing so serious and so blue
And when he tells you something you know that its true
He takes my breathe away with the small things that he does
He makes me realize what a mistake the last guy was
He shows me how a woman should be treated with respect
Hes an excellent father he spends time and does not neglect
If he makes a promise he will not break it at all
Even if he is exhausted and about to fall
A hard worker he is for sure, the best guy i've met before
He makes me feel special like i matter to him
He makes me feel like my life has just started to begin
When i feel weak he makes me feel strong
He tells me when im right and tells me when im wrong
Hes a special guy that opened my eyes
And made me realize it worth another try
My heart is free and i can trust again
And its all because i let you in
How could i ask for a better friend
I never want this relationship to end

Barn Yard Dog

Barn Yard Dog

I am a Border Collie, recognized for my agility and speed,
I’m also a hard worker, one of the most intelligent breeds,
I’ve worked hard all my life, with eyes fixed on the group,
Not only at round up time, but while resting on the stoop.
My job “back in the barnyard” is to keep things under control,
As the farmers move their herds, to the market to be sold.
I was hired as a “working dog” food and shelter is my pay,
The benefits are a family, with who at days end I play.
I wouldn’t trade this lifestyle for anything in the world,
But I do wish I had a companion, preferably a girl!

Momma Has Dementia

I miss my mother so terribly
yet, she still walks the planet today,
still looking like herself, her smile and her laugh
but her thoughts are only on yesterday.

But, let me look back at her life to see
what I can find,
there is morality in the raising of her girls and
and courage when her loved ones were dying.

As a teenager when my heart would be broken
by some unfaithful boyfriend of mine,
daddy and momma would dance to break off my sorrow
wanting again to see my face to shine.

She has always been so independent
and such a hard worker to,
taking such care of daddy and my sisters and me
so in my heart I praise the Lord gratefully.

Then the fun we have had out shopping
and together going to foreign lands,
sightseeing and visiting and all parts of the trip
just having her with me made it so grand.

For you see, good parents are hard to come by
in this wicked world of ours,
so I know that mine was Heaven sent
and by the Father’s hand they were lent.

And when her earthly life is over
and her time to leave here has come,
I know that she’ll be with Him in Heaven
for she has trusted in God’s only Son.

Premium Member Forever

When I look into your eyes I see love, I see strength, and I see caring.
When I look at your face I see wisdom, I see courage, and I see a friend.
When I look at you I see a hard worker, a great father, and the love of my life.
Being with you made me love more, have more strength, care for others more
than ever before.
You give me wisdom, and courage, you are a great friend.
You make me want to work harder. You make me want to be a better mother, to
be the love of your life.
Since the day I met you, you made me look at me. It was not an easy task, but
having you in my life has made me a better person.
I didn’t fall in love with you for the car you drove or the job you had. I didn’t marry
you for your looks or money. I fell in love with you because I liked who I was with
you. Your love and acceptance freed me. You made me a better person, you
made me whole. We are two whole lives merged to make a better tomorrow for
everyone we meet, for our children, and for each other.
I know without a doubt that I am completely in love with you. I ache when you are
not around. I will love you forever, and the great part about it is I know you will love
me forever too!

Highway To Heaven

-
Packed all our bags and into the car
A family of eight a dog from the bar
My father a publican hard worker as wife
deserved all their holidays each year of their life

We struggled and pushed and found a niche seat
a twin on a knee a boy at Mom's feet
Crew cut and bowl shape a haircut to last
A sister and mother rules they would cast

Up the long Highway M6 to the north
In the Welsh mountains and lakes not far from old Borth
Over the Menai to Holy Island port
Holyhead ship the Munster we thought

Seven in the morning up and alight
Sugar loaf mountains pull into sight
Feeling of home of excitement and glee
Twins are a missing Oh toilets you'll see

Down the N4 by Kilcock Dad had said
Mullengar for a draper shop selling sausages and bread
Past by the undertaker at the back of a dump
A chemist is busy selling petrol at pump

Down to the Granny and uncle who dwell
On a farm in the west with cattle and well
Black jack on bee stings and hay to a toss
Kittens and dogs and pine martens the lot

Father so proud doing well to a view
Mother delighted her brother just knew
Working for family his pride and his way
Both gave us good times as children we say

Premium Member My Oldest Brother

My Oldest Brother

There is a story in the Bible about a young man name David who slew a giant name Goliath. My oldest brother was also name David, and he too slew several giants of a different kind. Please allow me to name just a few of the giants that my brother slew.

The name of the first giant was MR. POVERTY, and David slew that giant by being a hard worker. This David who was my oldest brother slew a lot of giants, and I think those who knew him would agree. David slew Mr. POVERTY by taking advantage of every good opportunity that came his way.

The name of the second giant was MR. MAKE US RICH, and he killed that giant by not spending his entire life making other people rich. In stead, he believed in himself and started his own business.

The name of the third giant was MR. RENT RECEIPTS, and he slew this giant by purchasing his own home and other properties. In so doing, he stopped receiving rental receipts and started giving them out to others.

The name of the fourth giant was MR. SELFISHNESS, and he destroyed this giant by helping other family members like myself to better themselves.

The name of the fifth giant was MR. I CAN'T, and he slew this giant by helping me and many others to realize our own success. The jump-start that he gave to others and me enabled us to go as far as our dreams would take us.

The sixth and last giant was name MR. BE LIKE US. My brother David killed this giant, and just like the David in the Bible, he cut his head completely off. This giant wanted everybody to be like him, and David did not try to be like everybody else. He just wanted to be himself and do things his way. I never knew if David had a favorite song, but if I had to guess, it would probably be Frank Sinatra’s song, "I DID IT MY WAY".

Boss Vs Employee

You've been invited to a hot debate:
A dangerous war between two fighters.
Those who are fighting with extreme hate.
An inspiring topic for sci-fic writers!

One side is the boss, the king of the earth,
Who's glory of his Territory.
The Lord gave his fade at the time of birth.
Should everybody reads the story!

On the other side: a real underdog!
Someone who has been neglected for years!
Poor employee, like a tiny bug,
Should be killed and then, hanged from his ears

[Employee:]
I always do more than what they expect,
Hoping to be seen, willing to get "Thanks!".
But they don't give me, award or respect.
They just put money in their goddamn banks!

 [Boss:]
They always discus about football games,
or about movies, when they are working.
They stand against the company's aims.
I should catch their faults, while keeping lurking!

 [Employee:]
I'm real pro, hard-worker and keen,
In my job field I'm a unique expert.
famous companies (Top-Levels I mean)
are seeking me in jungle and desert!

[Boss:]
They are useless guys who waste resources
Why don't we fire them?! How soulful we are!
I like to march on their heads with horses!
and tie their bodies to tail of my car!

Jeremy Corbyn

I'm kind of taken by Jeremy Corbyn, the man and his success,
And believe that for the leadership role he may be able to dress;
I think what’s going unsaid is that he’s kind of in a way funny,
Minutely, not gloomy like Brown or Miliband, but kind of somewhat sunny.

He’s a breath of fresh air on the economy and education,
‘Cos he’ll tax the rich more and increase the tax of corporation,
He’ll set up a National Education Service for any and for all,
And restrict free schools so that upon liberality they will call.

Tax evasion will be dealt with, so Amazon and Starbucks can cower,
And housing rents will be controlled, to let the hard-worker flower;
Immigration will not be dismissed, and welfare reform will be opposed,
And Trident will not be renewed, as political solutions will be supposed.

The renationalisation of energy giants will stop high electricity bills,
And Europe will centre in British politics and system safety drills;
The NHS will not be privatised but with social care it will be warm,
And women’s workplace rights will be proffered in a massive, great big swarm.

He'll have a Minister for the Arts, to trophy art, music, literature and poetry,
He opposed the Iraq war, and will work with Russia at diplomacy;
He’ll fight for socialism and its beliefs, but in a modern way, considered,
And he’ll represent normal people, because he comes from Salford.

However, I don't like John MacDonnell, the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer,
Who should be more for the centrist view and a conscientious people reader;
His right-hand man should be someone who gives the opinion of the party’s right,
To offset Labour Leader Mr Corbyn and his radical, militant, socialistic fight.

But all the best to you, Jeremy, I hope things go your way,
And you stabilise the country with the left-wing policies of the day;
Although your shadow cabinet should be more representative in its views,
I hope that the economy rewards you for your heartfelt unionist dues.

Premium Member Gambling Demon

It all started out so innocently...
An activity of amusement if you will.
At first your satisfied with a small amount.
As time goes by...that small amount no longer stirs a thrill...
so you up your bet...
not realizing a black cloud is beginning to form around you.
You start to reason that if playing once every six months is this great...
then playing more often must be even better.
Like drops of blood being placed in a shark tank...
the frenzy begins.
Soon the machines start whispering to you...
as a small voice inside convinces you it's okay...
you have it all under control.
Like Dr. Jeckyl and Mr.Hyde your personality begins to waver.
You start making excuses.
You don't understand what is happening within you.
You no longer seem in control...
as even gambling a few times a week is not enough.
Then comes the empty promises you start to make...
spending money you don't have.
It's like you're being sucked into a black hole...
whirling faster and faster into denial...
and consumed by a powerful dark force.
What happened?
You are a good person...a hard worker.
I must resist this evil whisper.
I must take back control.
I must be strong and fight this demon
with every inch of my being.
It can happen to anyone at anytime.
These addiction demons are everywhere...
just waiting for some innocent person to start tipping
the balance of moderation...
and it all begins again.
Like a cold chill it penetrates every cell of your body.
The darkness laughs as yet another victim falls prey.
