Best Grow Up Poems

Premium Member It's Hard To Grow Up White

Of this, I've always wanted to write
How hard it is to grow up white
The very idea makes people uptight
Enough to cause a gigantic fight...

In this, the age of the diverse
There isn't much that could be worse
White skin's a plague, a veritable curse
It almost seems to be perverse...

So I've put this off as long as I can
Knowing the flames that it would fan
And how it would be roundly panned
If not utterly and completely banned...

Yet now's the time for a principled stand
This is the moment; here is my plan:
I stroll every day 'neath the sun in the sand
~ To turn my stubbornly white skin tan

Premium Member In Honor of God

In "Honor of God" I will not be a White Racist,Black Racist,Red Racist,Yellow Racist,Brown Racist or practice Racism. God created us,Red,Yellow,Brown ,Black, and White, and we all are precious in his sight: I know that I am "NOT Wrong": I know I am right! "In "Honor of God" I will not be a "Racist"! In "dishonor of God the "Racist" functions,in the Church,in the Media,in the schools,in the police department,in the hospital,in the grave yard, and in many other places, and dishonors God by being a "Criminal by way of being a "Racist"!God has a unique ,and diverse "Creation",and that reality is factual ,and certain!! We see it right before our very eyes, and that makes us who are loving and kind very wise!! A "Racist'''' believes untrue lies that is embeded in their sick minds ,as they are fed lies through their "Eyes"!Unjustifiable Hatred is another name for a "Racist". It was a Sunday morning, and a sermon was being preached, and The Pastor was ready to teach:The Pastor got up and said:"IN HONOR OF GOD " MY CREATOR",I will not be a "RACIST". Eight people got up and left the church, and all eight of them seemed to be sick,as they stumbled out the door, and three of them fell to the floor. The Pastor of the church repeated his statement ,ans said:IN HONOR OF GOD WHO IS MY CREATOR I WILL NOT BE A RACIST OR PRACTICE RACISM. The Church said AMEN.

Premium Member When I Grow Up I Will Be

When I grow up I will be
A forest with every kind of tree.
Part of a dark brilliant woods
I will do all the gets, leave out the should’s.

People will revere me for my age.
My rings will show my wisdom sage.
Of course I’m in no hurry to be cut down.
Unless it’s done by a lumberjack clown.

A lumberjack clown I’d like to be
If I cannot be a forest with every kind of tree.

Premium Member I Never Wanted To Grow Up

The clothes pile has started to form itself into a grotesque man
The bedroom door will no longer open due to the heavy garbage can
The stench of the dirty dishes is annoying to say the least.
To get it all out of my mind I take a giant bite of pie – peach.

Don’t you think you should? My house mate starts to say.
But she watches my eyes furrow and narrow and scurries away.
If I wanted to clean and cook and scour and wash dishes and such
I would not have been born on this planet; for it is too much.

Like Peter Pan I never wanted to totally grow up
To pay bills, and rent, and take care of my cat and my pup.
I wanted to forever go to school and have fun and make laughter
This growing up thing is for others, people much dafter.

I know that eventually I will have to get a job and go to work every day.
But since the pandemic has arrived, it’s a great time to cavort and play.
Virus has not done anything but give me a fine relaxing slovenly break.
I’ll make a cobbler next, for it’s time to eat more sugar for Pete’s sake.

Tailored to Grow Up

In the world of today girls feel the need to sexualize themselves.
Social validation is more important to them than personal values, family, and getting good grades.
Makeup and skincare can be found in their online shopping carts—
replacing Christmas wish lists
along with clothes that are two sizes too big or two sizes too small.
They get so anxious when they can’t find their makeup
that they hyperfixate on their hair and clothes and pray that their face wont receive as much attention.
Their crooked teeth and hairy legs start to feel like defects that are yet to be fixed.
They let their old interests sit in boxes and collect dust in the attic because they’ve been peer-pressured into believing that they’re childish and uncool—
just like they were convinced that food was bad
and teaming up with their own bodies to fatten them
and make them too big to fit in their own minds.

In the world of today, some cant afford to buy food.
And those who can often wish they didn't need it,
because they can also afford screens,
and they can afford to spend all the time they’re not working
getting addicted to the digital drugs we’ve convinced ourselves are not the problem.
Because nothing is ever a problem—
not to those with cool vacation pictures and straight A’s.
Nothing is ever a problem
for those whose perfect teeth and smile serve to display their picture-perfect lives.

In the world of today, life starts being difficult at age fourteen.

Premium Member Once They Grow Up

This country i have grown up in
Has made me so proud
My children in prosper
As i rise above the clouds

But there comes a day
When they will all leave home
What ever direction they take
In safety roam

In my thoughts
They will always be
On this world of today
Let them all run free

Children of mine
All my neighbours and friends
Be safe in your journey's
My thoughts to you extend

Our children of today
Are our day after tomorrow
They are our future and beyond
Let's lessen their sorrow

Let's do what we can
And do it now
For tomorrow's too late
Please don't ask me how?

Letters Grow Up To Be Words

"Words are just letters,
Pasted together

Their individual sound makes no sense
But formed together they are heaven sent

Giving each letter a voice,
It’s message our choice

As we chose letters to fit,
To form the words of our script

Expressing what is in us,
Framing moments we can trust

To explain feelings within,
And to know where to begin

Today or tomorrow,
Be it joy or sorrows

Picking letters that explain,
Feelings of happiness or pain

Understanding that the “u” and “I”,
Always determines the “why”

Of moments and events,
That each day presents."

Lame excuses don't cut it.
Takes more than flowers to impress me.

Because I'M Ready To Grow Up

Because I'm Ready To Grow Up

I have had enough
Enough with the happy times

I'm ready to take on the stress
No more playground or bubbles baths please
Enough with the piles and piles of mess
I'm grown up now ready for change

I had it with being a baby bird
I don't want to be fed I don't want to cry
I want to get out of the nest, spread my wings
I want to take flight in the sky so high

I had enough of the princess dresses
Get rid of those Barbie dolls
Throw away all those plastic high heels
And bring on the teenage texting of Lols

Don't u get it I've had enough
I'm ready to grow up to break out of the shell
I'm prepared to take on life's earthquakes
Waiting for the day when I'll have stories to tell

Princesses and fairies will never be real
There is nothing in the world that's free
You don't magically have a happy ending
All i can be in life is me

So I'm ready to grow up
To escape the magical world
For you have to earn whatever you want
Nothing comes in a pink sparkly twirl

So I've had enough
Rip my childhood apart
I'm happy to face the impending future
drown the happy memories in my heart

Premium Member The Viper Tells a Rhyme Tale

I ask, at what cost?

Coiled beneath the leaves, nothing is seen of his reprieve.
The viper’s warning is curtailed.

Silently masked among the decay, a wooden shelter becomes his stay.
The viper’s ambush is prepared.

Wanting, searching, like field mice the children are learning.
The teacher prepares to pounce.

Writhing, frothing, innocence from adolescence is fleeting.
Status quo, they begin to denounce.

Like poison, consumption, coveting is quickening within the arterial circulation.
Rebellious youth herald Marxist slogans.

Crying, suffering, parents beg for an answering.
Who trespassed within the kindergartens?

Forty Years now lost.

I Don'T Want To Grow Up

..
Looking back on times when I needed no one....i realize those are the times when I needed someone the most
when I went out on a limb all by myself to prove how tough I was....those are the times when I was most afraid
when I put up my guard because I was afraid of getting hurt....i pushed the people away that loved me the most, and would never hurt me
if there are times that I seem distant...please don't leave me alone,,,these are the times when I am most lonely
If I ever ask you to give me space...make sure that space is big enough for you too; I know for certain, without a doubt that I could not be without you
through all of my soul searching, mind boggling, good and bad times; it appears to me that.........
being an adult means that you can only depend on yourself......that your battles are your own.....feeling loved and respected are luxuries....no truths are said in fear of what “others” might think, and......what you say is not what you mean and what you mean is not what you say.
If I cannot lean on my family and friends in times of need....or....know without a doubt that someone besides me is looking out for me......or.......be loved and respected everyday of my life.....or.....know that honesty is the one thing I can count on.....or......be myself without having to justify who I am......or.....be content and at peace with my life and the decisions I make.....
if I cannot at least hold onto these few things when I cross over and become an adult....then I think its safe to say........I DONT WANT TO GROW UP.....but in reality to grow up is what we all need to do.
Maybe if I do grow up I'll be kid funny too

Premium Member Why Do We Have To Grow Up Huh

When I was just a baby
Many years ago
I was so agile I could even suck my toe
Now I have trouble lifting up a cup
Oh how I hate growing up!.

When you'r a child everyone smiles at you
And say's ''awe, aren't you cute''
Bur now your an adult
Your as cute and popular
As an old worn out boot.

When your a kid
and lose a tooth
You put it under your pillow
And in the morning you find a quid
But now it's something you cannot do
Because you have to put your teeth into chew.

I suppose being an adult has it's advantages
You don't get ring worm nits and puppy fat
But why did I have to grow up
It wasn't in my plan
It just happened
And now I'm a man
Damn!!.
