Once They Grow Up

This country i have grown up in Has made me so proud My children in prosper As i rise above the clouds But there comes a day When they will all leave home What ever direction they take In safety roam In my thoughts They will always be On this world of today Let them all run free Children of mine All my neighbours and friends Be safe in your journey's My thoughts to you extend Our children of today Are our day after tomorrow They are our future and beyond Let's lessen their sorrow Let's do what we can And do it now For tomorrow's too late Please don't ask me how? You express great hope for the future by leaving it in the hands of your children, James. I hope their days are blessed with happiness. Again, your love for them shines in this write! Love you, Carolyn

Love personified ... excellent verses, James, and we will all strive to make this old world better for them.. and theirs ... parents will always help their children no matter what ... u need to frame this one and put it on the mantle... so your kids can see how proud u are of them and how much love exists ...bravo.. another classic.. I am sure that no one but God has the answers. It is a scary world we live in if we stop and think about it. I have written two one called "The Knight" and the other "Country Squire" can you tell me what form of poetry they are? I appreciate your comments. Keep the pen flowing. Sara
