Abortion (Another Life Gone)

There you are being conceived in your mother's womb.
Before you know it you will be born in this world
real soon.

As you develop; you start to move around. You take in
your first food as your mom gobbles it down.

Your ears start to develop; behold now you can hear!
You start to move around as the sounds you hear are
weird.

You look around to only darkness. So you yawn and fall
asleep. Look at those precious toes that are taking
shape on your little feet!

You hear your mother talking and you react to her voice.
You start to kick. You start to coo. It seems to make
you rejoice.

I can hear the sound of your heart beat, and at hearing
it I fall in love. I take a moment to see what is now
going on in heaven above.

Yah smiles down upon you as a precious baby is starting
to take shape. Everything seems good so far, but hold up
baby...wait!

A pain hits you hard. You're wondering what's the
commotion. You don't even know it, but your mom
is now having an abortion.

You don't deserve this. You're a precious baby. To be
born is the Father's will. But you don't even know it,
because now you are being killed.

The pain is killing you...unbearable pain, but what can
you do. It hurts too much to say this is what your mom
thinks of you.

Some think they know better, but your life began at
conception. Why do some think otherwise? Is it because
they fell victim to the devil's deception?

Look at you torn to pieces. I'm crying at the sight
of you. But it's a relief to your mother, she sees a
different point of view.

Another child dead. Another life gone. I can't control
my emotion. A precious gift from above is now the victim
of another abortion.

Premium Member Saga of the Green Peas

Along the baseboard in a small kitchen
there is a tiny hole, the perfect size to go
unnoticed, perfect for a secret hideaway.
Little twin girls imprisoned at the table
not allowed to leave unless those cold
olive green peas are completely gone!
Canned peas, that had a bit of the flavor
of the tin can infused into them, pushed
around the plate in a marble shoot.

When is she going to leave the kitchen,
quit watching, stop repeating, "eat every one!"
Salty tears dropping on the plate, incapable
of adding any flavor as an hour passes and
little heads are laying on the table beside
the plate with those cursed tiny vegetables
staring back with their small green eyes.

She has to take a trip to the toilet, this must
be timed just right...half the peas leave the plates
and are scooted into the tiny hole in the wall.
She returns, unaware of the subterfuge.
Admonishment causes more tears and little
voices pleading, "they're almost gone". "Not good
enough, finish them or you stay here all night!"
A guardian angel makes the phone ring and she
leaves to answer it. Two little girl's plates quickly
converge upon the tiny hole that gobbles up the
last of those dreaded cold green peas.

She returns and the ordeal is finally over, with
her none the wiser, until a few weeks pass and
she keeps trying to find the smelly odor coming
from the kitchen. She follows her nose to the
secret hideaway exposing the rotted peas.
Infuriation welds up within and then out comes
the razor strap and a painful dance ensues.

Premium Member Diet Footles

Sweet tooth
In youth

On scales
She WAILS!

Hot date
Lose weight

Diet?
Try it

Big eyes
Large thighs

Fat tum
Huge bum

Gobbles…
Wobbles

In mood
For food

Crunchies
Munchies

Wants choc -
Whole block!

Adore
Fridge door

Keeps shut
With butt

Risk it ...
Biscuit

Crispbread?
Drop dead!

Think thin
As pin

Eats less ...
New dress

Now slim
And trim

Look great
For date

Premium Member Ruben's Sandwich

Hey diddle diddle
We poets will fiddle
With poems that jump over the moon.
But sometimes we blunder
He still claps like thunder
And soon we are smiling a tune.

While he sits on his tuffet
and gobbles his sandwich
He brings a smile with each comment he makes
Collecting his wits,
With humorous bits
Jay Leno would gladly be paid!

To have him crack jokes
He cheers all the folks
Who stay up by light of the moon

Even little dogs laugh,
While the rest of us grin
You're a great guy, we love you! ... Ruben!!

Premium Member A Trail of Destruction

A snail has thousands of teeth
No wonder it is such a thief
It gobbles my plants
You should hear my rants
Slug pellets will give some relief!

I discovered from a quiz question that some species of snail can have over 25,000 teeth!

Wabi-Sabi

Empty the mirage of perfection
Whose shadow wears scars
Of perpetual broken rainbows –
Cracked rose petals –
Gilded edges joined by hibernation and spring.

A pilgrimage into amnesia
Timeworn victories fade into badges lost to time
Moonlight swallows the waning heart of morning
Sunlight gobbles up unfinished faces of the moon
Storms inhale fragments of sunbows.

Out of exploding ephemeral stardust broken beauty
As galaxies toss and turn creating quasars
Like waves sculpt eroding sands
In the orbit of perpetual opening ceremonies -
A journey into morphing excellence of golden seams.

And love grows to bloom then scatter rosehips
Into time’s silken wrinkles
Star born magma bows with gratitude
For unexplored shapes crafted on new shores
Where only eternity lasts forever.

Premium Member The Ostrich

A bird of grandiose stature, he struts the veld
do not anger him for his powerful kick
can main or even kill. Gently he watches
over his brood their mother left long ago.
It falls onto him to incubate their eggs.

Impressive wing span as he shades his chicks
from the relentless midday scorching sun.
Watch those long legs hammering away
as he chases off a rival who strays too close.

Yet for all his strength and size a pea of a brain
famous for hiding his head in the sand
as if it will make him invisible from sight,
he does look so weird bum stuck up in the air.

Attracted by anything that glitters
he gobbles up all sorts of weird things.
Once tamed his joy is to run in races but rarely
in a straight line as he veers here and there,
oft times leaving mayhem in his wake.

As dusk falls he gathers up his brood
and struts off into the setting sun
his life is really quite a simple one
with freedom to roam the sunlit veld.

I Love Mommy Because

Mommy loves me more than laundry
More than dirty dishes too
She’d rather spend her time with me
Than doing things others do

She would rather play with me
Than take a nap or sew
I love Mommy ‘cause she loves me
More than any TV show

She’s always there to pick me up
And love away my tears.
She prays to Jesus every night
To keep me from my fears

She gobbles like a turkey
And loves to dance around
I always smile; always laugh
She’s better than a clown

She’d rather eat her food all cold
So she can feed me “HUM”, and
Then wipe my face and clean the
Walls and floor of food I’ve flung

Mommy makes the greatest faces
When I do something she likes
But, saves the best for when she finds
She’ll need the baby wipes

She mostly talks like grownups do
But tries to talk like me
She hasn't mastered yet just how
To speak in baby-ese.

If there’s just one thing I could say
To Mommy when I’m grown…
“Thank you for who you are
And the love you’ve always shown.”

Premium Member Waters And Rolling Sands

Swimming in the cold blanket of waters
Sea of the unheard and unknown surfers

Diving alone in the middle of raging tide
Gasping strong at the surface of surging waters so wide

Your winking eyes that flash in shimmy skies
My drifting heart floating with my steamy eyes

Your smiles shown in meandering clouds
Splashing in miles blown by wind that enshrouds

My chest that gobbles and globs so free
My heart that paddles and throbs in three

Your face on water surface I gape and sketch
Your trace on the sea floor I reach that stretch

Waters is your pillow I snuggle on sea shore
Your body in rolling sands I cuddle so sure

I shall wait on this same spot with you I bind
The place you dropped your heart and left me behind

Upon your return, here I will always be
Your body and soul, your memory in me

Sleep

Sleep
To wait
for a dream
wonderous scenes
of piquant parfaits
with a blended relish
of creamy fruit and almonds
savoring and ready to eat
daunted by an ogre's appearance
who gobbles it down and awakens you

Kronos

You must decide,
Or by Kronos you must abide.
Hail the titan of time,
No, I must draw the line.

So I say he is evil,
Worse than the devil.
Leader of the titan's,
You really need to enlighten.

Holds the power of the scythe,
He thinks he can get a wife.
Can freeze time full stop,
Tie mortals in a knot.

Putting people in human chain,
Gobbles them down like a game.
Possess the body,
Possess the mind.

As Kronos walks through time,
Beware the titan of titan's,
And them of time.

Unquotable quotes – XIV

Don’t trouble trouble until trouble gobbles you ; don’t
rubble rouble until rouble rubbles you.
Don’t marry a woman out of pity ; she’ll make you
regret her lack of fidelity for a ditty.
Don’t lose your temper with any old party member ;
they are all in league licking the leader’s member.
Don’t meddle with paddles if you have never rowed on
water ; it’s not the self-same action you practice with
     your partner.
Don’t run to get insurance coverage when you’re
hanging from a ledge ; better wait for the dredger to
     empty the valley of sludge.
Don’t go to the cinema to rub or warm thighs and legs ;
what you’re watching is not what you see.
Don’t climb mountains only to be rescued in the public
eye ; there are other more subtle ways like making
naked love to appear on TV.
Don’t crack jokes to make others croak ; crack their
     skulls open with a rebuke.
Don’t eat with your fingers noodles soup ; drink the
soup first, then slurp the noodles through fingers.
Don’t tease the neighbour’s daughter for lack of
laughter ; for all you know she may be Bob Hope’s
     screen writer.
Don’t turn tables in a fight if you haven’t got the might,
unless you’re John Wayne in a Western with a
     broken hind stern.
Don’t squirm in bed dreaming of Clark Gable ; his teeth
kept great actresses crying out for a gargle.
Don’t swim against the current pretending to be Tarzan,
unless you have a Jane willing to put up with any
     bane.
Don’t cry for help with a mere yelp.

The Ogre In the Garbage Disposal

He likes an egg
without a shell, cracked
by the careless act
of a grocery store clerk.
There's always some jerk
who could make you sick
then read your obit
with a pained expression
as if that session
and consequence grim
had nothing to do
with him.
The Og. loves
spaghetti
is always ready
when you've got
a question
of indigestion.
He loves a meal
of apple peel
(forgive me Giuseppi
of the Pinnochio
story). I do not care
for apple peel,
and though the Og.
is small, he
gobbles it all.

Premium Member Naughty Brother Bobby

Inspired by Real Life Brother Billy, My Halloween Candy Thief

Every year when it is sweet Halloween time,
my selfish big brother commits the same crime -
he quick gobbles his candy and then steals mine!
I can't tell cause my parents will say I whine
so, this Halloween my mean brother, Bobby,
will feel regret and correct his theft hobby.
Tonight, this sis is a sinister zombie
who will see Bro turn squatty, potty sorry!
I foil wrapped sweets he favs as delicious –
he will soon steal Exlax-styled Hershey kisses.
By the time naughty Bobby grows suspicious
his guts will have already turned most vicious!
