Best Giddiness Poems
This fortress is overgrown with moss,
guarded from storms of selfishness,
when the waltz with winter left behind
a mausoleum covered in frozen dahlia dust.
Fading with scents of summer Jasmine,
peaches rot in a forgotten orchard,
where ivy strangles statues of past lovers,
whose infatuation drifted with nemesis clouds.
But, beyond the barricade
with every butterfly beat,
there is a sigh craving for comfort from
lips that will surrender this solitude.
My soul searches for Rumi's field of fairness,
where 'forever' is not just a gesture and
honesty is not hidden behind metaphors.
Yet, I wonder if love is a beautiful phenomenon
that will endlessly evade my grasp.
In this giddiness, I ponder
why romance is an abused cliché,
so should I gift my garden to another,
when petals I plant only perish?
Maybe, I am not worthy,
maybe, I seek for it in starry eyed fantasies,
where all bonds are evergreen -
but in reality most are moulded artificially
Confined inside the sanctuary of this heart,
behind a stubborn shield,
there is a love story where roses flourish,
alongside honeysuckle, untouched.
Knock to enter if you desire to cultivate,
not conquer through self-centred crusades.
Compose a chorus of internal birdsongs,
to revive extinct flowers. blossoming in my
oasis of kisses, only seen in your dreams.

I stand here at the center of the world
embraced by a sweet joy that makes me feel
so good! I'm melting ice cream that's been swirled
with luscious butterscotch. I want to reel
from giddiness. I cannot merely stand.
I need to move. I want to leap and dance.
There is no other feeling quite so grand!
I'm thinking of long kisses and romance
while feeling loopy! It's as if a wave
of happiness has risen from the sea.
It's oceanic, and its willing slave
I want to be as it rolls over me.
Here where I'm standing in the middle of
HIS world, I am engulfed by his warm love.

Faith means believing
If there is a chance in the million
You could be the one who gets it
Faith means giving yourself the benefit of the doubt
Being happy with what you have accomplished
Focusing on the things you did right today
Whatever you tell your brain, she believes you
So be kind to yourself. Be optimistic. Be forgiving.
Dance your own dance, bring out the feathers.
If you want to wear a tutu, wear a tutu.
If you want to wear your zebra pajamas, wear your zebra pajamas.
Take care of yourself. Nurture yourself. Love yourself.
If there are things in your background that hurt you,
Speak to your child self. Tell her you will take care of her.
Assure her that you will not accept meanness of any kind toward her.
Above all, live your life as a beacon of hope to others.
Show them that you can twirl and whirl and be crazy with giddiness
About being you. God does not make mistakes.
I tasted summer…
It sure tasted good
I was dying for a sip
Of my iced coffee CHINO
Only in Cyprus…
My drug of choice
Crushed ice with sweetened coffee
OH....YES!
In the evenings
succulent watermelon treats
Eating it all with relish
Even the seeds
what greed!
I tasted summer…
In that first dive into the pool
How cool!
Immersed in liquid delight
Open eyes
I touched the bottom of the pool
Two dolphins painted there
Let me have my way...
I did a handstand
Legs pointed straight up into the air
The water running down my legs
Straight up....I held on
Weightless
Weightless
In my element
My hair flowing around me
As I did my strokes
Diving in and out of the water
A fish…
That's how I got described
by the one who watched,
"Your so agile"
Such exuberance
I thought…OH…this is better...
Better that a sensual high
There was I
Gliding in and out
Water above, below, all around
Carrying me
Splashing around me
loving me
Playing...playing with my hair
Saturating my soul
With giddiness
Muted sound
Below the surface
I swim underwater
The width of the pool
I thrust up for air
Water slides off my body
The sun kisses me
Applauding the feat
I taste summer
It sure tastes good
Salty scent in my hair
My body slathered in sunscreen
Sand clinging to me
The beach
My sensing feasting
On every single thing...
My eyes delighted
A small September crowd
Enjoys the breeze
that creates the waves
I wade into the water
Intake of breath
I squeal
It's refreshingly cold
The water laps at my legs
crawling further and further up
Making me gasp
Finally....
I submerge
I laugh
I dive into the waves
One by one
I play...
I push myself high
My face to the shore
They pound on my back
I take a deep breath and let them roll over me
Enjoying the roughness
That "out of control" feeling
This is greater than me
And then
I lie back
I float
Blue above
White puffs: baby angel breath clouds
I let the sun ravish
The water carries me
I forget everything
My mind blank like the blue sky
There is nothing but the NOW
NOW
And there am I
Tasting summer
Salty and sweet
September treat
And happy
Oh, so, happy, am, I!

Easter Wake-up Call
Jesus ~
When you woke up in the tomb did you smile –
The living prophecy complete -
As death cowered in your victory?
Throw back your head to laugh in giddiness
As you broke free from burial’s mortal bonds
Trembling at your feet?
Sing a kingly Psalm of morning joy
Lion of Judah in roars of Resurrection
That banished Adam’s shame into oblivion
Tap your toes in rhythm to your quickened heartbeat
Chasing evil shadows around the tomb
As they cringed within your reborn shadow
Dance the dance of triumph
And mend the temple curtain torn in shreds
When wickedness groveled in defeat before you
Breathe in sweet breaths – mercy’s living testimony
To exhale in pure whispers of grace
As evil gasped in thrashing suffocation
Shout Amen! Alleluia! It is finished!
Prince of Heaven as sin yielded stinging tears
To the union of omniscient forgiveness.
Jesus
When you woke up in the tomb
Time’s framework shattered – the lost chord found
Heaven’s landscape showed through the thin matrix membrane
Mercy’s healing fragrant balm caressed earthly nails scars
The Anointed now anointed exile’s wounds with restoration’s incense
The mystery of God and man’s enigma unraveled
When you woke up in the tomb.

Boys carry their snow sleds
up, up
to the highest peak
scaling risk
their voices pitched
chattering noise of expectation
frozen giddiness on snow packed hills
boys belly flop onto plastic sleighs
bubble-headed jauntiness launches them
lunging down, down
bewildering "swish" of speed
smashing white drifts
projectiles scattered
boys tossed in snowbanks like pizza dough spinning
baked together in joy
pushing the balance of extreme
runs repeated
brash, blunt, bold
epic span of freedom
ignoring downfalls from ill timed moves
in a lost sense of direction
gleefully tired
snow flecked
boys wheeze the icy air
make their way home
their talk clotted with bravado
beneath it, the unspoken promise to never tire
of boyhood
in twilight, the slopes gleam
gouged by sled marks
that clear a path for growth
targeted direction
and if boys fall from the path
are there souls
who'll notice?
when ruts threaten
when sleds teeter
in unruly spaces
Poem composed February 2, 2022
When the red wasp come out,
and the lush tree limbs begin to sway in the breeze,
Shaking off the residual drowsiness of their six month slumber,
I know that it has come
I see cool bitterness chased from the atmosphere
The misery is melting
Prompting jollity to come out of hiding,
It's petals bud slowly and then blossom into euphoria
With no concept of boundaries it overtakes the heart,
spreading its green tendrils along the ground until it
finds the cracks in the walls of my spirit
So that even the crumbling parts of me hold life again
Giddiness flits around like a bee playing tag with its companions
becoming intoxicated off the nectar of flowers
This is the season in which my body buzzes with contentment
I am a reclaimed house
in a garden of good vibes
And every day I pick a bouquet
Of smiles
Wrap them in brown paper
And deliver them to the world
Proudly the white tummies purposefully sauntered forth
Orange arrow beaks decidedly pointed
Stubby feet not nearly strong enough to hold them up
Yellow mirrored eyeballs, reflecting the sun
In sheer giddiness, frightening the menfolk.
I stopped the wagon train and gave them a stern talking to.
Yes, I am the wagon master, thank you much.
And this is the Wild Venus, not the Wild West.
It is a new world, of course.
Unfortunately when I stopped them, they fell over
Onto each other’s laps, making the menfolk laugh and laugh
Making me sorry we had given them their lobotomies before we reached destination
It was the only way we knew to control their testosterone,
Of course, it was my idea, one of my worst I later discovered.
We resumed our journey after they all regained a semblance of composure
Our pet menfolk and our pet yellow-bellies.
I smiled, knowing I might have been right all along.
Women would rule the Venus colony
TVs would be banned, and no animals would be harmed
In cages or hunted or trapped or any of that nonsense.
Some other women came to my wagon that night
We formed a sing along bonfire, and we laughed and talked well until morning.
Knowing our menfolk would be more than willing to get up with the
One point two children we had allowed ourselves and our
Yellow penguin brigade.
Congratulating ourselves on our new status
Rulers of Venus, Committee of Sixteen,
Power of the Woman
In Charge Forever
Until we realized sixteen women cannot agree on anything.
Without at least one or two opinions from the yellow penguins.
That is when it all changed. And they slyly took over,
Feeding us the feminine-out-sauce that took away our will and our minds.
Well done white tummies. Well done!
Youthful love erupts,
Embracing all rational thoughts,
Lurking during times when it is not sought.
Longing in its euphoria, the heat smiles.
Overflowing with giddiness, you laugh at its whiles.
Wondrous is young love, for with it, the world brightens.

i sometimes dance to giddiness
i sometimes dance to sorrow
i sometimes can't find uncensored tunes to dance to
gotta get up tomorrow
to whom ever's drumming

chagrin
~~~~~
Right isn't so important
when ya need help
we've all been taught
needing help is sign of weakness....
~~~~~~~~~~~
I beg to differ.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Throw it in there
seriously
c'mon
how much have ya to lose?
It was easy to know…
An ever ready hug
A sticky candied kiss
A sweet clinginess
Eyes full of admiration
Songs full of love
A call for help meant only for one
Arms outstretched always wanting
It was easy to know
It was easy to show…
A wake up call to a favorite breakfast
A new frilly dress
Special occasion celebration
Treat upon treats
A longed for whined for gift delivered
Story time snuggles
Game time giddiness
Attention undivided
Every little need provided
It was easy to show
Yes, it was easy to know she loved me
Yes, it was easy to show I loved her
My daughter, my life
It was easy to know....easy to show
Why is it so hard now?
Refocusing on present realities
New forms
New expressions
New words
I struggle to find new ways
The old ones are worn out
All that’s left now is doubt
It’s hard to show…
It’s hard to know…
Am I still valued in her eyes?
Why does the passage of time make it so hard?
Why?
Isn’t love timeless?
Eden
Come away to Eden
to the mountains far beyond
where streams bear the only traffic
and love the only bond.
On mountain peeks and meadows,
though December bars the way,
we, who are September,
will dream the dreams of may.
Moody, melancholy Mondays
let us leave behind
along with clocks and schedules
that clog the day with time.
The emerald forest beckons,
the ponds , the lakes, the streams,
the giddiness of freedom,
the gauzy gaiety of dreams.
Look now to the sunset
before it turns to umber
unnamed days await us
in time that has no number.
There are three loves so far that I have found,
like triplets, different minds, similar face,
the first where one's feet do not touch the ground
two souls oblivious to time and space.
The second, when the giddiness subsides,
terms and conditions made, a course now set,
doubts cast aside, life now a smoother ride,
comfortable, as good as it will get.
The third a maelstrom, tempest, barren skies
her hand grips his lest they be torn apart
as age and pain rinse colour from the eyes
and circumstance assays the strongest heart.
But as the years progress I feel maybe
there is a fourth love, even greater than the three
whose combined works make it like yeast arise,
a love, once faith, becomes one that we see
when one is taken from the other's eyes.
That fourth love is not a 'where', 'tis but a 'when'
but be assured- I love you until then.
A boy's transition
Uncertainty awkwardness fear
Too young for hope, too inexperienced in yearning
Aware of beauty, but just the eyes and memory
Of sunny noisy crowded halls and gymnasiums
Bursting with adolescent giddiness
A restless morning courtyard littered
with a handful of bystanders
She always caught his attention
Tall slender
bouncing and gliding on the balls of her feet
That beacon of a smile framed by flawless full lips
The smile never intended for him
But he glowed just the same
Everything did
She radiates
A young man's transition
Uncertainty awkwardness reckless
Confusing hormones for feelings
Beauty cannot be held by these nor treasured, nor respected
She smiled at him
Young men are such foolish creatures
that decadence cannot loose them from their folly
But he never forgot....
She radiates
A man's transition
Certain weathered yearning
to behold what he's crossed oceans
and not seen again
What mountain tops have not risen to reveal
or jungle concealed
or prairie failed to whisper
Like those grounds once contained
She radiates
to be silly and true
to be the only times when around you.
to feel no worry
no sadness coming through.
only happiness and giddiness
to be absolutely silly and not care.
waltzing through the crowded places
singing the Doom song.
who knows what is to be
can't hide my emotions when your near.
either in my thinky place or yours
craziness how things work out.
never to be expected
who would have thought?
