Best Get What You Give Poems

Premium Member Ode To Christmas

My fondest wish this Christmas
Is for all who read this poem
To believe in Santa Clause again
And truly get to know him.

He’s not just a childhood dream
He’s a feeling in your heart
A show of love for all mankind
Of which we play a part

So be a child once again
And in Santa Clause believe
Give the gift of love my friend
And that gift you will receive

The true meaning of Christmas
Is not in gifts we receive or give
It’s in how we treat one another
Each day we’re blessed to live

The real lesson of Christmas
Is one we all should learn
Treat others with kindness and acceptance
And you’ll get what you give in return

Christmas is a magical time
To spread some holiday cheer
But we should keep that spirit in our heart
Each and every day of the year

Family and Friends are like Christmas ornaments
Hanging on your Christmas tree of life
They decorate your best of days
And shine light on your darkest days of strife

The spirit of Christmas past
Keep alive in your hearts and minds
Remember loved ones no longer with us
Precious good memories there to find

The spirit of Christmas present
Is not in the presents that you buy
The price of the gift is love
A cost that is never too high

The spirit of Christmas future
Is not a foreboding shade
It’s spending time with family and friends
More good memories to be made

The fruit of the spirit of Christmas
Is to give each other a chance
To move to the beat of their own drum
And in the world together join the dance

Remember that Jesus is the real reason
That we have Christmas from the start
He is why we celebrate the season
So always keep Jesus in your heart

My wish for you this Christmas
Is peace, joy, good health and love
And remember family and friends
Are gifts received from God above

So in the spirit of the season
And spreading holiday cheer
Merry Christmas to my family and friends
And a very Happy New Year

Lessons in Love

Love,
You know Love?,
I know what love is,
Love is total contentment,
Love is never having to say, sorry,
Love is being sorry, even when they’re not,
Love means being able to see past the here and now,
Love is respect, honor and is always unconditional,
Some people haven’t allowed themselves to feel Love; they are the lost souls,
Some of these lost spirits are evil, you must beware, Love will not protect you,

With Love, comes commitment. Uncommitted Love is just temporary happiness,
Despite your emotions, sometimes you need to let go, it will be painful,
The most important part of Love, is to Love yourself above all,
Without a good sense of worth, you’re emotionally broke,
Expect Love in return, get what you give, that’s fair,
The bottom line, Love is you, loving me,
And expecting that love returned,
My Love lesson is done,
Go, now, in peace,
Always.

Premium Member Givers Gain

To give is to gain
in the eyes of the mind
of a soul that is honest
and loving and kind.
It's fair to expect
that you get what you give
as your life is a measure
of morals you live.

What do we gain
when were willing to give?
What force feeds the soul
in our willing to live?
When given the chance
of a lifetime to choose,
our hope is the treasure
our hearts cannot lose.

Like a torch we pass down
to each, one by one.
To mothers as daughters
and fathers as sons,
a hope burning brightly,
a steady flame fast,
the strength of our future
through hope from our past.

We pass on these ways
without saying a word
as actions speak louder
and clearly are heard.
The examples are set
by the actions we choose,
without even thinking
of what we could lose

What is the worth
in the willing to give?
What is the point
of our purpose to live?
We give with the hope
of a better tomorrow.
To give up our hope
were are certain for sorrow

What is the cost
when we won't even try?
To give up our hope
and eventually die?
We break the connections
that keep us in sync,
a game of survival
that's lived on the brink.

All things find death
in the journey of life.
Hope is the light
through the darkness of strife.
We give and we gain,
give up and we lose.
What we will give
shapes the world that we choose.

Appointment For Love

I turned to my wife
With desire in my eyes
And my loins a little disjointed
Forestalling sin,
She asked with no grin,
¨Kind sir, do you have an appointment?¨

You'll need to make an appointment
If you wanna have a shot at love

I was having a chat
With a sweet bureaucrat
Whose curves nature had appointed
The moment seemed right
When up came the red light
And a billboard reading, ¨Make your appointment¨

In the future, you'll need an appointment
For love, for kindness, for care
Some justice of the peace
Will preside your release
Or decide on your fate of despair

In time we'll be damned
To a hostile land
Ruled by gods we ourselves anointed
Hey, you get what you give
So don't ---- where you live --
Or at least not without an appointment.

What you do to others good or bad,
Someday the same will unfold, unto you.
When you give respect, you get respect,
If you offend someone, expect retribution.

If you let your light shine for others,
It will also light your way tremendously.
The evils you did, and the lies you spoke,
Will visit you one day and knock at your door.

What we plant, grow around us,
Man will reap what he sows.
Our deeds have boomerang effect,
The thoughts and actions sent out will come back.

You can’t run away from evil and good deeds,
The universe is based on a fair exchange.
You will only get what you give others,
Always be good to everyone.

The good fortune and happiness you give others,
Reflect back in magnanimous way in your life.
Problems or successes, are results of our own actions,
Therefore do good things , good things will happen.

Life is an echo, It always gets back to you,
Learn to see good in every person,
Treat others as you wish to be treated,
It will make you to reap the most reward in all areas of life.

Dreamer's Disease

Written August 5, 2011

Why don't these constellations follow me
Smash-up mercy disease
When you go outside to find the light
In the middle of a cold dark night
Is when I'll ask if all your dreams are dying out

You only got one dance left to rid this dreamer's disease
Hey you over there
Do you give up more than you give
All my friends keep breaking down in two
Is there really any reason to live
When you can only get as much as you give

Davey lives at the end of the sea
So sink on down and look him up for me
And when the curtain's falling
Morning's calling
Won't wake up you got the dreamer's disease
Won't wake up you only get what you give

I've seen how mean
You treat others.
You're well known for stepping
On the necks of those
You deem beneath you.
You've conveniently forgotten
Laughing
Over many a misfortune,
Mine included.
So legendary is
Your cruel nature
And peacock-like arrogance.
You carry a baffling air
Of invincibility.
You think yourself
Infallible; better than the rest.
Or are you? Now I watch you
Slip deservedly
On a banana peel of poetic justice
With laughter
In my eyes. You hear folks
You've trampled upon clap,
And you don't like that?
Well, what did you expect?
I hate to admit
I feel no guilt or pity
For you and your troubles
As you've taught all and sundry
One true thing;
You get what you give.

24

... then again I'm almost 24
but i wish i could be 8 again, Kobe
Ignorance isn't bliss, it's a door
of perception, shoutout to Huxley
Bliss is knowledge & knowledge is power
& that's an insurmountable tower
but all the fun's in climbing...
Where it'll take you's impossible to foresee
But you can't put a price on bein' free
Free from the parameters of society
an people tellin' you what to think....
i speak what i think and do what i speak
and It took me awhile to find that sync
So... If you speak what you think
and you've been told what to think
Isn't that just a lip-synch?
Buy this, buy that
What we've got is fine!
Come and live amid the poverty line
& you might change your mind
about what you think you need
All that people remember are deeds
and they'll often only remember recently
Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme
But please don't concede
You get what you give, guaranteed
Lord forgive me but you left alotta debris
And you programmed us oh so greedy
They should call religion the lottery
Pick 1 out of 10,000, Hail Mary!
Ohhh... what's it mean to be alive?
i used to be scared to die
Until i looked death in the eye
And you know what he told me?
Try and imagine before you were born
That's all death is, no need to mourn
Realize this and you have eternity...

Money

Money is a universal language. They say money talk bull crap walks
even the def hears it. You gotta pay the price to live nice.
Money can turn people cold as ice. I like my pockets fatter then Kelly price.
Success is my friend, i learned to fight with my pen. Words close as kin
the more money i earn the more money i yearn,thus i can't be broke.No
money life is a joke. You cant take care of your folks.I love to count
that cheese yellow yolks. You know what they say another day another dollar holla. You could bet your bottom dollar. Money makes the world go round.
Build a mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door. To get what you give sometimes you gotta cash in your chips. Don't bit the hand that feeds you money i need you.

Much Love

Words sometimes slip off of my tongue/
sometimes I trip and get stung/
never the same mistake, I only make 'em once/
I make a lot so I have scars from the cuts/
look at the stars when I walk with a limp and a crutch/
looking for answers between bars the I've shut/
the mind can be a penitentiary when it lusts/
now I clutch the bars and they crumble to dust/
sometimes it's still hard to breathe when I'm rushed/
take a step back catch my breath, it's a must/
I'm fiending the rush/
still dreaming, no luck/
you get what you give, so it's only me I can trust/
that causes problems with the people you love/
they'll come around when they get to the whys and the whats/
that's why when I speak I always say it's much love/
so to all my people, I'm feeling the love and it's always gonna be.....much love

It Could Be You

I see how she is going to be.
Another repetition of our history.

The drama with sister Roni,
Could happen to anybody.

When you call me on the phone,
My undivided attention is shown.

I take an interest in your day,
I am here for you come what may.

Send me a text, I said,
With disregard, she went to bed instead.

you fail to get back to me, not occasionally,
But ten times three.

You get what you give in this relationship,
I’m done with the courtship.

If you have not the time to answer me,
This relationship is a bust, I do decree.

(own title: Get What You give)

You need me
I am well aware of that
You love me
and in your own way, you show me that

but your way is not necessarily my way

If you want the real me
           don't condescend to me
and don't put down in me
                    the things that define me

Accept my flaws
Don't try to tell me how I NEED to be
Accept me for who I am . . .
                        as I do you

Hold me in the night
Don't make me ask for that
If you see me crying. . . open your eyes
            and realize why-
 then hold me even tighter

If you do these things,
you'll then get back from me
    a love that is real.

"play Fair"

There is no shortcut you see...
We all must play the game to the tee...
No cheat notes or templates to show us the way..
Even a book or a movie won't work today...
The rules are so simple and easy to read...
Be kind to one another and show a good deed..
As the old saying goes , more bee's with honey
then swatting them away..
Same holds true if you want to be heard listen to
what people say..
Don't deal from the bottom or cross in between...
Say what you say and only what you mean...
A little lesson here on human respect...
You get what you give and no more then you expect..

You Get What You Give

The energy you put out
Is what you get in return
Although this is a lesson
Some will never learn

There are those who
Murder, steal and lie
Their lives are chaotic
And they’re left wondering why.

Some are getting in trouble
Always looking and trying
Then defying authority,
getting shot and dying

Loved ones left behind
Heartbroken and crying
Their stories being twisted
By the media’s lying

When all it would take
Is to be reasonable and collective
Rather than being resistant
Angry, and selective

When faced with authority
Just be calm and compliant
Rather than being mad,
Aggressive and defiant

When you are living a life
Full of love and hope
It makes life better
much easier to cope

With what life throws at you
No matter what it may be
With each challenge in life
the bigger picture you'll see

Do your actions support
The life that you truly want to live?
Are you emitting the energy
That you really want to give?

The energy you bring in
Is the energy you put out
Getting what you give
Its what life is all about
