Best Gaze Poems
While I gaze in your eyes, cool cerulean blue,
Sifting night, straining stars through morning’s sweet dew,
I can fathom the depths of empyreal skies,
Angels fluttering by, riding wild butterflies
While I gaze in your eyes, changing, aqua-blue greening,
I’m sucked into chasms, cascading, careening,
And yield to enticements which meekly disarm,
Seeping virtuous beauty, sad sensuous charm
While I gaze in your eyes, bleeding fiery blue
Ever tempting with treasures, with pleasures for two,
Being caught at the core of a blazing sapphire
Possessing, enthralling, aflame with desire
While I gaze in your eyes, misty emeralds, deep green,
Veiling laughter and banter, and echoes between,
Then I dream, so it seems, in whatever the place,
Of your scent, of your breath, of your radiant face
While I gaze in your eyes, at times placidly blue,
Near’ as calm as the weirs in the woods all bedewed,
Forty winks relegate to a shimmering lake,
Gently floating on lilies, while waiting to wake
While I gaze in your eyes, caught engulfed in the greens
And consigning my fate unto verdant ravines,
My reactions, at length, become shyer and shyer
Reminiscent of ravens at risk in the briar
While I gaze in your eyes, restless, hesitant blues
Overwhelming sensations with turbulent hues,
I’m succumbing to waves of a storm battered sea,
Being cast like a plank, never meant to be free
While I gaze in your eyes, shadowed, Midnight Lake green
Glowing hazy with dreams, misty thoughts so serene,
Sudden silence befalls me, a fast sinking stone,
Looming lost in your eyes, I am never alone
While I gaze in your eyes, saddened, lachrymal blue,
Spilling trickles of rain, pearls obscuring your view,
I’ll attend to your anguish and feelings morose,
Lightly kissing your tears, touching, holding you close
While I gaze in your eyes, pulsing infinite green
Of the earth and of heaven and all in between,
It is simple to see that my hands can hold all
Of the treasures I find which so humbly enthral
While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re bountifully blue,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning is granted to few...
While I gaze in your eyes, when they’re blindingly green,
I’m reminded, love’s lightning cannot be foreseen...
Yet I hope... and I wait...

And did his rash actions give this prince
Cause, in moments of troubling quietude,
To ruefully ponder on all which could not
Be rewound?
A lamentable lack of honourableness and
Uncemented fortitude
Which brought those crashing towers down;
An inevitability borne from the desperation
Of his passions...
So unlike her own desperate passions contained
Inside the hapless extremities of a single gaze.
Her obvious compliance; the tawdriness of this
Sordid contract enabling an old-fashioned
Demand for dutiful obedience...but still betrayed
By a resigned sort of hopelessness. The futility of a
Guilt; his schoolboy-pawing of the tensioned strap;
Your revulsion; his constant bolstering...the
Belittling with that inane, maddening, witless chat.
The whirlpool stars of the Milky Way appeared when she was feeling grey.
Mother-of-pearl constellations shimmered across her skin in the candlelight.
Saturn’s red rings spiraled wildly at her climax—
A solar flare unleashed in breathless surrender.
Turquoise desire bled into solemn greys,
And those greys married verdant dreams, swirling in slow motion.
To gaze at her was to weightless drift in a heavenly sky,
A vacation from this unforgiving world.
Her allure was all-encompassing, enchanted and unique,
Spiraling me into a pheromone-induced high
Each time she glided by like moonlight on water.
She was a celestial mesh of chaos and charm
Unreachable, until the universe paused and she murmured, stay.

I gaze horizons of the day
I only see what I can see
But there before my eyes does shine
A moment caught in time
Where everything is beautiful
Because I call you mine
I find a sunrise formed of love
Sent down from up above
I gaze horizons - of the day

Ok the song “I’ve grown accustomed to her face” by
Nat King Cole came on as I was flipping stations
this morning on my way to work and I had
the melody stuck in my head so I wrote a verse
to it.
P.S. I was listening to Aerosmith prior to that. : )
Stunning turquoise eyes
Clear, bright and captivating
Couldn’t look away
A slave to your gaze
I needed to see your soul
Peered through the windows
Deep warmth camouflaged
Eyes locked as two became one
Our joyful hearts soared
*For Michael's "Eyes First Meet" contest
by Carolyn Devonshire
Awakened from a mid-sleep tingle
of the wind ,your absent body drifts
gently like a formless cloud into
night’s minutes: a holy air which
smells of musk, weaving through
a quiet stillness of tender love’s fervor.
Just there, graced calm lingers mildly in our
own space: this yearning embrace of your
as foggy arms cuddles my entire spirit…
and this gentle evening turns warm,
remembering your life has reached
its final time: the pain melts like
colored mist as loops of distance widen,
your beautiful shadow slowly,
slowly evaporating… I return to
this one and only dream-like visit
with a question and melancholic gaze…
“ Dad, why did you have to leave us so suddenly?”

* My Dad passed on alone in his
death bed; we were all requested to go home
for a while after spending hours in the ICU
of a military hospital.
There is nothing left of life
that death cannot resolve,
times velocity spins on stolen lips
and minute pieces of adamantine
pierce the edge of soles
worn with pain
----
Right here,
Where night and dawn merge
the membrane strains
cleaving, as shade blackens blue
for mere milli seconds
Standing in the hollows of night
still, watching forever shimmering
in the shadowed corner of my eye,
I, me, always a curious creature
swallow bricks and mortar
tasting truth
In my head an orchestra plays
the symphonies composed of my life
strings wring my heart with melodies
wrought in pain and self-loathing
shame and eventual surrender
to the beat
But,
in the beauty of renewal
in the peace of your reflections
I've wondered at the universe
memorizing the mysteries unsolved
ever tantalized neurons smashed
awakening ever and over again
Sleep has been a foreign land
settled by the fortunate
longed for by the tortured
spirits of my mind
Yet in these dark magnificent galaxies
when snores softly sigh in peace
or monsters haunt your dreams,
I have watched millennia of mourning
shatter the promise of darkness evermore,
I wondered as sunshine held a drop of dew
and as light of hope captured the ghosts of night
banishing them forevermore, or until nights edge
I am a watcher and a teller of tales
Singer of forbidden songs and tragedy,
downtrodden, I rose to fight again and again
with a schizophrenic mind harnessed
within the beauty of a single star
and the promise of humanity
in the kindness of a strangers touch
Now at the end of all journeys
my final battle lays in that
which I know not, shackled
that foreign land whisks me away
again and again, dreams cease
as moisture rolls from my brow
---
Slowly, slowly, slowly
winding down into nothingness
Gently, gently, gently
I will lay down your cries of grief
My words aren’t never-ending
my breath will someday cease
Yet true beauty and wonder lies
in the wondrous infinity of peace
just look into these eyes overflowing with pain
know !! there will be an end, even that shall ease ...
Staring, you might call it gazing, staring
out into the great vast sky
the great unknown
searching for answers
to question I don't even know
The moon, in all her splendor
brilliant and bright
shining, not just down upon me
but shining deep into my soul
bringing with it much needed light
drawing a smile upon my face.
The stars so carefree and wild
reflecting life
some rising
some soaring
others falling through the night
auspicious as they might
never giving up the fight
Staring, not gazing, staring
off into space
finding answers
without ever asking questions
My mind clear now
peacefully
I go to you
lovingly
I gaze
ever so deeply
upon your beauty and grace
drawing a smile upon my face
Transpiring for tranquility,
For that loving long embrace…
Once again, I look away from my existence
And meet your precious gaze
Of whom do we owe our lives, our hearts, our time?
To the one who has died, or the one that dies yet still, for you..?
I ignore the moments of pleasure so trivial in blinded eyes,
To focus my awareness of your bleeding cadence
I see the fury of jealousy riding on the outlines of your jaw
The tension in your frown, the pain in your still, genuine smile
Your face becomes soft in my presence, though from a distance,
You are terminally coarse
You are breaking, awakening by the frenzy of my love,
Crying so darkly for my mind to comprehend your doomed destiny
And in spurts of silver moments,
I do see you,
In all pools of blood and tears,
Mixing with all of the familiar hesitancies and fears
I am fighting now, to push away the useless light of the ignorant multitude
Parting from their detached arrays, into your sweet supple gaze
Where freely the tears fall upon my breast,
Tortuous, the pulse begs merciless against my chest
Your pupils enlarge, rivaling the world in my stare
Perspiring peace glistening in our blend
We realize in this union we owe each other nothing
For we have died together, loved freely, and lived
To suffer again no more
-For Justin Bordner's "The Crosses In Your Eyes" Contest-
Beyond green meadows, humming birds slow flight
To gaze on beauty as she passes by
When my love comes, she brings a brighter light
And jealous stars dim with a whispered sigh
To be lonely when my lover is gone
As she came to me when my need was King
She filled my eyes, a lushous fiery dawn
And took my spirit from Winter to Spring
Did you not see the sun's red setting blush,
When she took my chalice filled with its pain?
Opened my arms for her passionate rush
And led me through darkness, out of the rain
Oh dear love, with eyes of a darker hue
You tell my heart why God created you

Morning light now comes to glow
on weary smiles and waking eyes
As ribbons of a crimson flow
paint dawn upon these early skies
I gaze towards an eastern place,
so far and yet so near to me
In hopes of dreams I long to trace,
such beauty for my eyes to see
And as the heavens cast their shine,
a canvas tinted sapphire blue
This wondrous day again is mine
as I awake to thoughts of you

Note:
When Dawn And Blessings Both Enter Ones' Life
Today I caught a young student staring at me.
This young man, who seldom comes to class,
greets me, nonetheless, with a beaming smile
the days he does show up!
This adventurer (who once described how
he had driven backroads of Alaska all by himself
to enjoy its raw beauty) is an unassuming, attractive man.
When I noticed him watching me,
he did not too quickly withdraw his gaze
as I would have expected someone to do.
His dreamy look held a soft touch of wistfulness.
It both flattered and puzzled me,
for I must be at least thirty-five years his senior.
When he left my classroom,
I was left to conjure
my words for this poem.
In a different time and place
I probably would have followed up
on what that gaze
had been about!

Until I gaze at you
The evening tide returns to shore,
as moonbeams kiss the sky
Reflections shimmer ever more,
this night as time goes by
Though, in its rippled glistened light,
a wondrous summer view
True beauty cannot find my sight,
until I gaze at you
Good night Soupers
Revelations Of Beguiling Gaze, From The Witch's Head
From dark abyss, many light-years away
witch's head, its beguiling, evil gaze,
yellow-eyed sockets, curses to betray
far more sinister in that blacken haze.
Alas! Its lights gleam in brightest allure.
Leading its lost victims to blindness sure.
She steeped in paganism, its evil spells
spiral coils, deceiving serpent-like trance,
heaving breasts, illusions from distant hell
baits true romantics, by star rays romance.
Alas! Its lights gleam in brightest allure.
Leading its lost victims to blindness sure.
Her reach, into space and far, far beyond
mighty darken surge, her galactic source,
hiding darkness of which devils are fond
to destroy innocent mortals of course.
