A Slave To Your Gaze

Stunning turquoise eyes
     Clear, bright and captivating
          Couldn’t look away

A slave to your gaze
I needed to see your soul
          Peered through the windows

Deep warmth camouflaged
Eyes locked as two became one
          Our joyful hearts soared

CAme back to this oldie of yours to say, I don't remember what I commented to jack about his poem. Usually he does short ones so I probably told him I liked it short? Anyway, I stand by that. The judge you mentioned is very different from me. She did not like one of my poems in one of her last contests because she told me it was not enough detail. I disagreed and would not change it. I think shorter poems are usually better (not in all cases but generally speaking!!)

by the way, I think that wedding song came out in 69, but I could be wrong. I was thinking I met Glenn(son of the preacher man in 69). since I am sure I was 14 then. Didn't you love that song? Glad you liked my ending. I was so repulsed hahahaha. Something you have to aquire a "taste" for!!

Yes Carolyn, much much better! Cough medicine helped considerably -- coughed so hard my head ached:( Pharmacist did advise the cough medicine wouldn't entirely get rid of the cough though and she was right on that. It's tolerable;) This has been one of the nastiest colds I've had in a long time! Thought I'd let you know I'm on the mend:)
