Best Free And Easy Poems

Long Weekend

Harry Jayson was a banker never at fault
he ignored any personal assault.
He was free and easy-going
nary a care showing
until Friday night he got locked in the vault.

Free and easy
So they say
Not knowing or caring
Your eyes meet
Your fingers touch
You light that spark
As you get caught up
In each other's words
You feel that electricity
It's all around you
Burning through your skin
Sweet sensations engulf
You into bliss

Hunger

Walking down a crowded street

with a cool breeze at my back

smells from a food vendor linger

and I stop for a seafood snack

I sit upon a nearby bench

and stare off into the wayward night

the moon she peeks around the clouds

and a lonely star is shining bright

My mind drifts off into that wayward night

to a time when all the stars would shine

a time when it was just you and me

and everything seemed right

Oh how I hunger

I hunger for those times

when words were loud

 and feelings strong

and nothing could go wrong

Oh how I am starving

 starving for those simpler days

where thoughts roamed free and easy

the winds were soft and sweet

 our muse was much ablaze

and not a feeling was asleep

Premium Member A Whole New World

Since writing this collection of narratives

Poetry has taken on a whole new meaning for me

It allows me to express my inner thoughts

Without restrictions

To concentrate solely on the message

Without the sometimes daunting task of rhyme

A feeling of free and easy

Previously poetry had always been about rhyme

But I have since realized

Poetry can take on many different forms

This is the beauty of poetry

By the positive reviews I've been receiving

Seems like most people are in agreement

The day I started writing narratives

Was the day a whole new world opened up to me

Thank you Rebecca

Not much to say;
Touching aftermath

Passing clouds
Candy floss chit-chat;
Without a word

Lovers in the park
Saturday evening trysts;
Cheery revival

~~~~~~~~~
Free-and-Easy
Way to go;
Redundant tour guide
Aloha Hawaii
Polynesian fare;
Smiles surfing free
Fly away now
Missionary quest;
Complains surge
No much change;
Wishful thinking
Here and there
Notice the debris;
Broken spirits loiter
~~~~~~~~~

Lost souls loiter
Shackled by fate;
Seemingly hopeless

~~~~~~~~~
And when he died
So much sorrow;
Now an urban legend
~~~~~~~~~

Sweet sexy swirl
Curves curl cute;
Vital statistics flaunt

~~~~~~~~~
Children at play
Power struggles start;
Parent referees
Rattling your cage
Razzing my berries
Premium Member Time Well Wasted
George talks about 'Them Cowgirls,"
While Willie's "Blue Eyes Are Crying In The Rain."
Tim talked about "Back Then"
And Bucky admits "It Was A Different Life."
Toby is a "Man Of His Convictions"
But Brad is "Better On Line."
Josh "Stopped Loving Her Today"
But Kenny said "She Can't Be Anything But Mine."
Does that mean one of them will have to "Walk The Line?"
Kenny says "Don't Blink"
Or you may find Tim is "Already Home."
"Tear Drops On My Guitar" has Taylor like Lambert
"Famous In A Small Town."
I arrived "Down In The Boon Docks"
Only to find Rodney was "Going Through Hell"
Rascal Flatts hit the "Long Broken Road"
Telling my Billy "You Are The Only World I Know"
Tracy Lawrence was talking to "The Keeper Of The Stars"
And Lee Greenwood was asking "God Bless The USA"
Toby Keith was bursting with pride as he said "I'm An American"
And John Michael Montgomery was busy sending  "Letters From Home"
Darell Worley asks "Have You Forgotten?"
Toby Keith replies with "The Taliban Song."
"Yee Haw" hollered Jake Owens
While Steve Holy "Got A Brand New Girl Friend"
Direks says "Free And Easy Down The Road I Go."
While Tim and Faith were telling each other "I Need You."
Josh asks "Would You Go With Me"
As Dierks Bently agrees with me " Every Miles A Memory"
Kenny C. said "You Had Me From Hello"
But George prefers the "Beaches Of Old Mexico"
I saved this special song for the end.
Alabama's "Angels Among Us"
Every time I hear this song I break out in a cold sweat.  Many years ago my
granddaughter Mariah in Casper, Wy was attending the summer camp, on
Casper Mountain, for her boys and girls group. This group included handicapped
children. Friday afternoon the children presented a program for the parents. It
was magnificent. The children helped the handicapped children get on and off of
the stage for their part in the program. The finally began with all of the children on
stage.  They played Alabama's song "Angels Among Us" but the children all
preformed it in sign language. There was not a dry eye in the audience.  A well
deserved ending to a successful summer camp.
God Bless, Cile
Vaping Ain'T Worth the Risks
Vaping Ain’t Worth The Risks
To vape or not to vape, perhaps say  the venerated Shakespeare …
If only he were alive this day , he might also got to make a choice…
Back in his Victorian times, it was probably just tobacco and pipes …
What is obvious is this human weakness is still spread far and wide..
There are those who smoke, merrily they puff away..
Nary a worry at all what others might do or say…
It is their smokers’ rights, they puff in reply…
Should you ever glare or glower at this lifestyle…
There are those who choose not to smoke in earnest…
These are the ones who are in awe of their conscience…
They are well aware of the many horrifying pictures…
Amply displayed on the outside of every pack of ciggies…
The cigarettes companies, giants in their chosen  industry…
Well aware of the changing trends, funded research for alternatives..
E cigarettes, puff away uninhibited, it is like the real thing…
Not to worry, it is healthy, it can be nicotine free…
Decades later, today we see this boom in e cigarettes….
Only now it is repackaged to sound more appealing…
Vape gadgets, sophisticated little electronic gadgets..
And a multitude of different flavours to fit all kind of budgets…
Hear ye, hear all, this is the latest smoking fad in the market..
No, my dear brethren, it is no longer smoking, that’s so passe..
Welcome to vaping, it is chic and it is cool, what’s your flavour…
No it is safe, in Malaysia, there is no regulatory restrictions whatsoever…
Pray, to those who do worry what they puff in before they exhale..
Kindly go through the articles below and pray, be firm and say nay…
Smoking or vaping, it is just the same evil in different packaging…
Stay healthy, live free and easy, and enjoy life by not doing vaping….
Take a Walk In the Park
Take a walk in the park,
It’s the time for bonding;
It brings joy and gladness
To parent and offspring.
Take a walk in the park,
It’s a great chance to play;
A moment of laughter
To brighten the new day.
Take a walk in the park,
And you shall be amazed;
Up close and personal,
See lions face to face.
Take a walk in the park,
Let your mind understand;
Beasts are so important,
As they’ve roles in the land.
Take a walk in the park,
It’s not free and easy;
You must buy a ticket
From teller for entry.
Unload the stress and frets,
Leave worries in the dark;
Think of the grace as you
Take a walk in the park.
Seaside Nostalgia
As I wandered free and easy,
all along The sandy shore,
Dipping toes into the sea edge,
listening to The tidal roar.
Surrounded by the sounds of summer,
heated by The sun,
Noisy,strutting seagulls eating,
Laughing children having fun.
I came upon a punch and Judy,
loud and raucous, puppet show,
Fond memories of a childhood stirred,
is it that long ago?
Oh! no it isn't Punch, said Judy,
Oh! Yes it is the kid's replied,
It's right behind you they insisted,
hurry! hurry!go and hide.
Donkey rides, passed by,
and as I reached the pier,
I thought, I'll have an ice cream,
or perhaps a pint of beer.
for tea some fish and chips,
before it gets too Late,
A day out at the seaside,
is nostalgia on a plate.
Intelligence, it seems, is very expensive.
It makes you work to gain advantage.
It makes you pay to find success.
It’s the law of supply and demand.
To learn, one must also be willing to lose.
The scarcity of human resources,
Even in a world of eight billion souls,
Requires that smart be given a price.
Whatever is gained in acquired intellect
Must be paid for in common currency.
It must be exchanged in honest trade
For worthless things like obsolete thought,
Small-minded prejudice, childish superstition,
And limiting, hidebound tradition.
One can never get something for nothing.
Everything needs to be earned.
Everything comes at a cost.
Everything. Everything, except dumb.
Dumb is free. Dumb is free and abundant.
Dumb is free and attractive.
Dumb is free and easy.
Free dumb. Free dumb all day long.
Free dumb through the night.
The supply of dumb never runs out.
Get your free dumb here, folks.
There’s plenty free dumb to go around.
Free dumb yourselves into
Thoughtless, trivial oblivion
While watching The Price is Right.
Ignorance is always in fashion
In the land of free dumb.
And though it costs us nothing,
We’ll ultimately pay with everything.
That’s just how the market works.
Special discount in aisle five.
Let free dumb ring!
Open Season
Shooting fish in a barrel with an AK-47
Or merely tripping on the bench in the park,
Where the leather whacks on willow
And a stairway to heaven
Plays in the lost pavilion in the dark.
Cucumber in white bread with the edges curling up,
A whiff of road-kill crawling on the breeze,
How I miss your scented pillow
When the final Winter frost
Melts from off the branches of the trees.
Declaring open season on the women I have known,
A turkey shoot if ever there could be,
Yet my aim was way off centre
Crass one-liners blithely thrown,
Lucky horseshoes in the dust of misery.
Daisy chains that strangle like a razor sharp garrotte
When seemingly so innocent and sweet,
I still shiver when you enter
In your shades of reds and blues
Open season on the free and easy meat.
Premium Member Mushy Or Silly
Bunches of sillies are attacking my brain
Trying to push the mushy stuff out
Gonna be a knock down drag 'em out affair
From the rooftops I wanna shout!
Have no idea which one I'm rooting for
Mushy stuff has been doing great
But you guys are clamouring for the sillies
So woe is me, I'm in a hell of a state
So free and easy, gonna let it all flow
Whichever takes over is fine
This poetry stuff sure can turn my crank
Puts zest in my big behind
Now there it goes, the sillies are winning
But the mushies aren't very far
Really love life, it's just clicking along
Like out for a drive in my car
The wind, the smell of the morning air
A hint of jasmine we capture
The absolute freedom of the open road
Nothing compares to this rapture
Seem to be rambling on quite a bit
Losing control of my thoughts
Sometimes even I don't understand me
Damn sillies are tying me in knots
But have no fear, I WILL persevere!
Things will sort themselves out
Clicking along as if everything's fine
Till the winner wins out by a snout
Riding the Carousel Again?
Have I jumped on the carousel again,
the one with no brass ring?
Where no matter which horse I ride I will
end up spinning in circles of despair?
I do not try to wonder why
for, with no ego, I believe jealousy plays a role.
Although I start to befriend, attraction begins,
searches for what is missing follows me everywhere.
I could talk free and easy when I saw you a friend,
yet now I am clumsy, nervous and timid.
I found you a kindred spirit, similar journeys shared.
That kind of understanding is attractive in its own way.
I twist in the wind, in the maelstrom I’ve created
just in trying to be a friend. Again.
I open myself up to the stories of the downcast
and to have an empathetic ear seems to drive them wild.
Maybe I bring it on. Maybe I ask for it.
Perhaps a part of me enjoys this little game.
I haven’t liked it so far and can’t tell if this is real,
but – man – I am really into my neighbor’s girl (idiot!)!
