Best Financially Poems
I was told...
A happy marriage is based on communication
A healthy marriage is based on
understanding each other's beliefs and differences
A fine marriage is based on
respect, trust, and love
For better or worse
In good times or bad times
Forever till death do us part
Perfection we crave
But... what perfect aliens are those
defying all odds
Then I learned... there is no such
perfection in our kind
Even a happy marriage can fall apart
when the important become second
Even a healthy marriage can
fall apart when stress arises
Even a fine marriage can fall apart
when the essence of trust slips into doubts
Yes I believe... it all comes down to HOW we
treat each other
So... for better NOT worse
Be in it because it's what your heart desires
NOT what your mind fools you to want
Be in love with each other with all your heart
and soul NOT you have no choice but stay
Need each other physically and emotionally
NOT just financially
And be in it because life would be meaningless
without each other
And last but not least... appreciate each other
Perfection is when you smile genuinely!

President Barak Obama has an economic stimulus plan
to move the nation out of this financial quicksand
with foreclosures and jobs lost the situation is depressing
over $700 billion to get us out of this recession
but I know that all my help comes from the Lord
and God won't let me write a check that I cannot afford
the God who made Heaven and Earth has never let me down
the God who created me won't let me financially drown
He is my source, He is my strength, He is my right hand
and since money is not the god I serve I trust in His stimulus plan
for I know my God is able to keep food on my table
I know my God will always come through whenever a bill is overdue
I know my God is up to the task to give me all that I ask
God's spiritual stimulus plan is my daily bread
infused with His promises that keep me spirit-fed
and no matter how dire my circumstance
I turn to God and He extends me a branch
for greater is He who is in me than what is in this world
and greater is what He has promised me than anything from man I've heard
He suffered for me, He died for me, His blood was on the cross
there's nothing He won't do for me so I won't suffer anymore loss
the joy of the Lord is now in my hands
my God's spiritual stimulus plan
and even when my back's against the wall
the God I serve won't let me fall
and even if my 401K has diminished
the God I serve will replenish
and even if my stock portfolio tanks
the God I serve has a full spiritual bank
exceedingly, abundantly and above all
the God I serve will answer my call
in all things, in anything and in everything
there's nothing that my God cannot change
my God is able and on His word I do stand
trusting in Him to revive me with His spiritual stimulus plan

As snow flakes fall to cover the side walk my people get tired of the side talk
Work for me You won't be financially but at least you put a couple gifts under the tree
At least you can get your car fixed while I pull off in a new mercades
Oh ya make sure you fill out the paperwork for welfare
I will have my secretary sign it while I set by my pool in Bellaire
Have you ever been there you can smell the sweetness of success in the air
How is Jamal doing
I almost cried when I heard someone was at his school shooting
Thank goodness my son goes to the same school as the son of Patrick Ewing
You can stay in my guest house if you thinking about moving
Rent free that's the least I can do for someone who works for me
I was going to stop by but that part of town is too rough for me
I wanted you to meet my daughter she just got her masters degree
So she can take over the business after me
You know how important it is to leave a legacy
What collage is Jamal going to or is he still going to the army
I hear they pay for college tuition
I told my son its not worth it when your arms and legs missing
But I understand Jamal got to do what he got to do
Giving Jamals hand he got to move how he has to move
Well I have to go watch for the stocks on the news
See you on Monday I hope your situation improves Peace
I don't know what you came to do
But I came to praise the Lord
To proclaim His anointing spirit
And with Him to get on board
Jesus came to preach the Gospel
To spread the holy word of God
To let the people know that
Oppressive behavior comes not from the heart
Today many people of color are suffering
Financially and legally as well
We're the most disadvantaged, the most killed
And the most incarcerated in jail
Our minds have been colonized
Our history diminished to naught
They call us savage and undisciplined
And say we can't be taught
Red lined, stopped & frisked
Under counted in the census of the nation
No federal dollars to our communities
As we're constantly under dissipation
I don't know what you came to do
But like Jesus i came to speak power and truth
For those issues that plagued his time
are now plaguing mine too
As there's nothing new under the sun
But we need to believe
That if we tap into our Holy Ghost power
There's nothing we can't achieve
To be the change in the world that we want to see
We must make it come about
By embracing the resurrection power of Christ
And with true faith to work it out
I don't know what you came to do
But I came to take a stand
For I've been delivered and empowered
By the Sacred Blood of the Son of Man
I don't know what you came to do
But I came to battle and fight
As I'll no longer sit in complacency
But challenge the status quo out right
To put the devil on notice
And give hope to the oppressed
To cause a shift in power
And get our circumstances addressed
I was created to be free
And not a prisoner of any man
For I'm a child of the Heavenly King
And For me He has a plan
As homelessness isn't my destiny
Nor is poverty my goal
And like Jesus I came to change the world
And take from the oppressors control
I don't know what you came to do
But I came spread the Gospel of Christ
To let my enemies know that I will now
Lead an abundant live
Yes the battle may be long and protracted
But I'm in for the long haul
As I don't know what you came to do
But I came to tear down strongholds
Every small sore is numbing pain
As if morning can't see the rain
Every small touch on your light skin
Makes the world like it stops to spin
Teardrops can't mend your heart's sorrow
As if night has no tomorrow
The days are counted like a few
May God still give you lots of new
For my mother who currently and coincidentally suffers from breast cancer and undergoes chemotherapy. I may not be that financially stable to help because of my condition and we had some differences before, but may this poem find you a morning sunshine and a holding rail. Thanks to my sister In law Christy and my brother Marvin and all who extend their sympathies

Overjoyed to learn sharpen skills
Onyx sky that once had a chill
Did change my life through Goodwill
Was at wits end as my pc died

Learned that help is a call away

Most females have forgotten that it takes more than
just being a woman to qualify as a lady.
Many women think that being sexy is all about
T & A, and not about inner beauty and the attractiveness of a gorgeous mind. Hence, they have put these ideas into their children growing brains.
So many of our young girls think sex is love, that's sad.
Way to many females don't even know what a classy lady is, they think it has to do with societies class system. This is because they have never met a classy lady, only trashy females trying to convince everybody they have class, all while their ass is hanging out!
The problem here lies in good role models, for all ages. Just because a woman is financially successful does not make her an appropriate role model. Having money and having class have NOTHING to do with each other. Fortunate girls have been blessed with good role models who were truly a class act ( hence their actions were in concert with their character as women). Some of us were shown a classic classy lady in our grandmothers, mothers, aunts, sisters and friends. Many were not that blessed.
Raising a daughter with class, confidence, intelligence and inner beauty can be a tall order in today's world. The media has twisted these values substantially. Parents, you know what you have done or failed to do. Instilling integrity, fidelity, honor and character is your job when raising a child. When a young person without basic values is turned loose upon the world, that word "classy" can determine there future. I know the task is difficult, but think of your love for your child. Do you condone trashy or promote classy? Kids can't be left to teach themselves ethics and self worth. I challenge parents to step up to the task and give your kids the gift of good parenting.
Paraphrasing old Albert Einstein,
"Compound interest's man's greatest invention".
But you'll be financially in trouble,
Expecting your buying power to double,
Because he never factored in for inflation.
Choose to be Happy
I am happy because I choose to be; my life is far from perfect.
Others are content but I make conscious choices to be Happy and to be a positive person.
You don’t have to be rich or have a lot of money and material wealth to be happy.
Many wealthy people are poor in Spirit with all the money, fame and things that they have.
This Christmas Eve night as I write this poem I think about how I manage my money focusing on my needs first and then my wants.
I ask myself: Can I afford that? Do I need this? Can I wait for the store price to go down and get that dress on sale?
I hope that once I am financially stable with a decent job I can have a coat drive for kids age 1 through 16 in Trenton, New Jersey when every boy and girl gets a cute new coat and I hope that my story inspires others my battle with mental illness over 19 years…
No one knew his background, he did not speak of family
Not even the one left, whom he felt was a burden
His younger sister with whom he’d been out of touch
Financially, he was doing alright, handsome and perfectly fit
Friends wondered why he wasn’t dating
When asked, he’d merely laugh it off
If they only knew the burden he bore, haunted by his crippling addiction
A demon that had seized his body now hungered for his soul
Making its lustful demands at will by day or night
At first he seemed to keep his secret well, appearing as, just one of the guys
While apart, he rode the subway daily
With eyes of a hunter he surveyed
A different girl he took each time, In his home or some dark street corner
When he had no access to girls, alone, he’d easily play “solitaire”
Or browse the magazines and internet
Secrets like acorns take a while to grow, his were no different; just biding
time
Til the day of discovery arrived unannounced
Hidden files on the office hard drive
Confronted, he walked away in shame, and some ray of light seared his mind
At home he bagged and trashed his toys
Especially his favorite, the laptop
Temptation came fiercer and with maddening force, took him on a binge
That night he sank to the lowest belly of the beast
Ignoring his sister’s desperate call for help
When he'd had his fill of a sordid, assortment of lust, a flicker of conscience
emerged from within
Off he ran in the cold, pouring rain to find his sister alone
Alone, in the bath with her wrists cut; her precious life slowly ebbing away
It was mercy which kept her alive, barely, and by her hospital bed he sat for
three days!
Later, outside her room in the parking lot as he left, beyond broken he fell
upon his knees
And through his tears and the rain, he cried out loud , “God have mercy!”
That’s how a man, bankrupt; without love or self worth gained a second
chance...
At a most pivotal time in his life; in need of redemption
The shackles of addiction laid broken in torrent rain...free once more to be
himself.

Inspired by the HBO movie, "Shame"
Started out as Best Friends, you couldn't keep us apart.
Our love for each other was strong, nothing could tear us apart.
Then we got married and had our baby girl,
We were Happy in life and love, and felt on top of the world.
We felt invisible, we were on a good track, both had good jobs, nice cars and financially, we were in check.
Then I got sick, and soon you would follow, our vows put to test, tension and strain unfortunately followed.
We started to resent each other, angry all the Tim, and fight continuously, communication was no longer, our relationship was breaking, our family tree crumbling.
We began drifting apart, strangers we would become, we know longer even liked each other, or the people we had become.
We both now have a person, we confide in and trust, no longer is this person you nor I, we can't communicate with each other and have both lost faith and trust.
Our relationship is getting crowded, barely room for you and I, for both of us to have a third person, new best friend, confident in our lives.
Slowly we began separating our lives as a couple, and had some hard talks and understandings that we could continue a married couple.
The only thing that is left between us, is our Joelsie, the apple of our eye, our family tree.
I hate that she has witnessed the destruction of our lives, and seen the separation from Husband and Wife.
Now its time for the next step, its time for us to move apart, we must do this for each other and our daughter before we farther tear each other apart.
Its sad and scary, for all three of us, but I'm hopeful in the long run, its what we needed to happen for you and I and what we in the end deserved.
This may be the only thing left we can do to save this family, to save whats left of our friendship and respect, and to both walk away snd keep our dignity.
I hope we can coparent and keep things out of the court, work together as a team again, and together brave this storm.
If our child can see us getting along as friends and some kind of a new family, coparenting, not fighting, and using hurtful words between us, what a life and a example that would be.
South Africa xenophobic insanity
I have a shame to say I am South African now,
Look how barbaric is our fellow citizen are,
What a damage they have caused to our country’s image,
Image that one man spent 24 years in prison to create it,
They call it democracy, how it came they forget,
Dozens of our freedom fighters spent their life in exile,
What is exile we don’t even asked ourselves,
They spent their lives in outside countries illegally,
Fighting for this freedom,
They were treated with respect,
Treated with dignity,
And received any assistance in their endeavor ,
Endeavor to fight for this called SA,
Assisted by them we now call foreigners,
It takes foreign country for us to deliver the export,
It takes the foreign country for us to receive the import,
It takes the foreign country to boost our economy,
Whoever is a refuge must be treated with respect and dignity,
If you know how it feels like to starve, sleeping in cold, killed, suffrage and etc
For once put yourself in their stand,
They are people regardless of their status, legal or illegal,
Help them and love them the way you can,
If you are a human being in right mind,
Listen to their story how they landed in South Africa, their trip,
We are not sure if this democracy will last forever,
What if we starve in future and forced to become foreigners in their countries,
Or we need their assistance, financially or materially,
What about our businesses in their countries?
I believe anyone who is xenophobic is insane and need urgent mental evaluation.
Love your country and other countries as well,
Love foreigners, help foreigners like you will like to help your neighbor or relative,
I repeat the above lines a million times. Human must feel for human.
I'm watching the downfall of the nation I served
Leadership bought by the middle East has me unnerved
Our flag waving in glory still makes this old heart swell
But our chance of survival is that of a snowball in hell
Our pride's been replaced by government subsidized laws
Free homes, free phones, free care, we no longer fight for a cause
Dependent on government we can no longer be called man
Just jackasses and sheep, no longer part of the plan
The end of an era with a system that's beginning to smell
Our chance of rebuilding is that of a snowball in hell
The state of the union has working Americans irate
Too many dreams have been shattered since 2008
Financially destroyed by a man on a mission, pray tell
Our chance of achieving is that of a snowball in hell
I Hate Home Depot!
I hate Home Depot!
Just the sight of that
orange and white sign
makes my stomach turn.
However I know every
square inch of that store,
I’ve spent
thousands of hours there
as a paying customer.
I know what all is in the
garden section for all of the seasons.
I know where to go to find the
nuts, screws, nails and bolts. I can guide you
through the wallpaper and
the paint section.
I’ve bought sheets of plywood, lots of pcv pipe,
dozens of American Standard toilets,
ceiling fans, light fixtures, HVAC systems,
generators, even a riding lawn mower.
I’ve bought paint and waited to have it
mixed properly. I’ve rented
and driven dozens of their trucks before.
I’ve bought power drills, leaf blowers
screwdrivers, hammers, cabinets,
patio furniture, a refrigerator, an oven,
and an air conditioner.
I’ve even rented a carpet cleaner too!
But I could care less, if I ever step foot
in a Home Depot ever again. All of my hours
clocked in that store went to the benefit
of my ex.
He was the one that financially,
emotionally and personally
gained from my presence in
Home Depot.
So what was the point of me acquiring
all of that knowledge that didn’t benefit
me at all then and probably won’t benefit
me ever again?
It seems like such as waste of my time
and energy now.
Believe me when I say
I would rather watch paint dry than
go to Home Depot, I mean ever word
of that statement!
One summer I practically read all of
War and Peace in the orange and
white store from Hell!
But I can show you how to repair a large hole
in a piece of sheetrock. I know how to
paint the inside and the outside of a house.
I know how to install travertine in a house,
slanted and straight.
I have installed granite countertops,
hardware for a sink and the basin too.
Many other home improvement projects
I learned there.
What a fool I was!
Oh well, that’s life.
Who knows maybe
someday I’ll use some
of that knowledge that I
hated every minute learning!
