Best Finality Poems
His eyes looked worn and full
of a lonely lifeless existence. Lost
in his world, wandering through.
The heartfelt pains are the
heavy burdens he carries with him.
His body and feet aching from
the miles of foraging through the
cold dark mean, city streets.
The Holidays are hardest for
him as he remembers vaguely
his first Christmas with his parents.
For a moment that thought
brings a warm loving feeling,
engulfing his heart releasing a
tear.
He then sees a family through
a picture window as he slowly walks
by, listening to their joyful
expressions of festivity.
Remembering his and escaping to
avoid the pain of his thoughts of
his family.
His clothes are worn like his teeth.
Needing medical attention, he deals
with the physical pains along with
the mental ones, on his own.
He finally sits down, puts his
hands over his head and breaks
down crying uncontrollably. Releasing
his life's experiences all at once!
Relieving all of his hearts pains,
through tears. Finally giving up!!

A beauty of the finest splendor…captivating
Seizing the rooms attention on the inhale
Now a shrinking shell of her former self
Caught in a chemical coma to ease her pain
Murmuring fate in silences void…foreboding
Her eyes not seeing the milieu’s approach
Those illusory walls protection now ravaged
She stands naked before bereavements eyes
As the nights pass I sit at her bedside…steady
No corollary thought as the clock keeps pace
I allay the fear by a whisper looking for lucidity
While her random gasps for life squeeze within me
Soft regrets for the misery I’ve caused…repentant
Adrift in the words I bellowed in toxic anger
Yearning to drink of the venom washed over you
To share one moment in the clarity of forgiveness
The scent of a spring dawn’s beauty fills the air…mocking
Stroking your hair I stutter out my final goodbye
Ready to be chained to the morose you absolve me
Taking with you my weighted anguish with simple words
Mom opened her eyes one last time and said…I love you too…
I accept Death's finality,
it's been a while since I believed.
I've lost the convictions of youth,
viewing Faith through cynical eyes.
It's been a while since I believed:
my prayers dwindled to a few.
Viewing Faith through cynical eyes,
I dispute what religions preach.
My prayers dwindled to a few:
it's hard to accept; yet it's true.
I dispute what religions preach,
now that my life's nearing its end.
It's hard to accept, yet it's true:
Faith is a transitory state.
Now that my life's nearing its end;
I no longer believe in God.
Faith is a transitory state;
I've lost the convictions of youth.
I no longer believe in God,
I accept Death's finality.
I caught a glimpse of my mirrored reflection
but dared not stop to take a closer look
for I feared my eyes would be an open book
with lines I wanted no one to read but me
No brush strokes of my brush or pen
did I want to capture with my sorrow seen
It was an absolute absurd notion
to paint the pale countenance on my face
as I walked and wallowed, lost in time and place
Since no longer does he exist in this life
I sometimes feel I am a mirage, a sullen shadow
The merest gossamer ghost of floating flesh
I know because it's what the mirror saw
With the whispering wind, I aimlessly drifted
A dreamer without a dream of what life portends
wandering in the darkest nights, depending
on the sun to rise when dappled Dawn opens his eyes.
I didn't go gentle into the nebula night
for I feel jealous when moonlight fondles the sea
feeling more pallid than Luna's light
and an echoing emptiness washed over me
I feel as if I am an alabaster phantom
my skin the transparency of a colorless hue
Procol Harum's whiter shade of pale
miserable that somehow along the way, I failed
and so it was that later...
I went gentle into the nebulous night
without the need to hem and haw
without the want to rage or the urge to fight
for the dirge of death burns in flames of finality
With my eyes wide open, I couldn't read the words
I'd written for they were blurred on the page
My eyes might just as well have been closed
for exposed was the room I'd kept locked
behind the cage of ribs that protects my heart
My silence is not anger for having lost him
without so much as a final word of goodbye,
one last smile or the chance for my eyes to weep
My silence is not bitterness, just anguished awareness
It's an umbrella I wanted to open against the weather
That storm of emotional pain I knew would arrive
I chose not to open it so the torrent of my tears
would mingle with rain, but beneath the gloomy skies
one look into my eyes would give my heartache away
If he were still alive, I wonder what we would say
Two Dogs at the Gateway
By Sy Roth
They slurped their saliva,
huge globs,
big, barking mouthfuls
dripping from their jowls like milky icicles
Teeth-bared lips,
They guarded the gateway.
Pleased by their vacated spittle,
their noses now sniffed the air, and
like a marching band of electric ants
they ogled the nearing invader.
Anew, the soppy, conglomeration of spittle
wells at their muzzles
forming a frothy milkshake
determined to expel the approaching trespasser.
His hands stretched out flat in peaceful kindness,
prophylactic, heavy-breathing
moseying him to the gateway
wraps him in a pulsing eagerness.
A satyr’s blessing upon him as he approaches
Where the two dogs growled ominous presentiments--
Twin Cerberuses,
Headache kin of dashed wishes.
Evening shadows stifle all desires.
Lips part in anticlimax.
He rolls to the other side
away from the yapping hounds,
away from the uncomfortable pauses,
away from the anticipation
onto a sterile, flattened field
where done yet reeks of a flaccid fantasy.
A grotesquery of mordant imagination
content to sleep on the other side of the booming roar
away from the slurping beasts,
he drops hands down to his side.
Tomorrows march on and the gateway,
a finale wrapped in the twins’ slurping,
slams shut.
Disenchanted
The harbinger of consequence unexpected
that blows cool breeze or fetid air in mind's inner spaces_
Then wafts away to not ever comeback! For so unwanted,
those misleadingly obsequious embraces...

Why is it that the deepest love
is not enough to hold you?
What demons still torment you
even as loved arms enfold you?
Though the skies are dark and grey,
the sun will shine another day.
Why is it you don’t know this?
God takes us through the winter’s sting
with his sweet promises of spring,
and pleasant days of bliss..
The sun is shining bright today.
You wouldn’t wait. You went away.
I wake up in a bed barely rumpled
to confront truth of jarring, endless ache -
I am broken, my pale heart beats crumbled.
My nonchalant is an ascetic fake.
My furtive thoughts imagine you as dead.
Finality could be absorbed by me
quicker than abandonment’s gift of dread.
Love ifs of heart-wish will not set me free.
Longing to be numb or somehow just gone,
I sit in the hole of my once whole heart.
I struggle to simply, tightly hold on
and humble myself that healing might start.
He who once asked me for lifelong embrace,
left me holding just pain lacking all grace.
Every decision made has a cause and effect
Gaining wisdom requires taking many missteps
In this unprovoked endeavor you are captain of ship
And abandoning your crew can cause faculties to flip
It hinders discernment making thoughts race to conclusion
Even knowing what was rendered must have been an illusion
Facts become fables as your vision becomes blurry
Friends & family become distant as you scoff on your journey
Leaving traces of brilliance in the errors of your ways
It leaves you broken down and beaten left with nothing to say
You can call it confusion or onset mental illness
But those who experience this know just what they're doing
Stepping over the edge is somewhat of a tragedy
As if life is some sitcom met with drama emphatically
It's such a shame to see great minds get destroyed
With so much sorrowful heartache what then to fill the void?....
The moon breathes motion,
choreographed slivers of silver
parting inhaled memoirs of
you (blanketed in chips of rays)
and me (daintied in drowned damsels)
We drift together protected by
layers of skirmished words
thawed upon mist of morning
wants and dread of darkness
breaking once unbreakable needs
The flimsy pulse of distance
hides the beats within our song
as the tap-tap-tapping carries
sound beneath silent shores
of untraveled fleshy touches
Something happens when we accept our own defeat
There's confusion and silence ego trip wakens from sleep
Without knowing we abandon our plan to continue
Justifiably argued grandiose our opinions
Even though there's a part clinging on to the truth
Snuffed with malice deniably wrapped in reproof
We ignore it in spite of the honesty seethed
Bringing shame to toughest of men to their knees
I would offer solutions garner values and proofs
But Noone cares about honor and conviction, they lose
Genuinely said I just wish I could help
Even if I'm rebuked I will forgive you for myself
Funny isn't it? One day we will all be dead
And therefore I can die knowing there was nothing left unsaid....
Finality, And Beyond
The person who wrote this book is dead
Though he never really lived
Beyond the written and the read
And every word WAS a lie
I think I knew him once
I think I knew him well
I think he killed himself
But he didn’t go to hell
He was delivered from it
And he thought that he could tell
Everyone to be okay
But it didn’t sell
So he decided, without change
He could no longer dwell
Around the ones that he loved
And bid them fare-thee-well
The person who wrote this book was never alive
Though he’s not really dead
The road of life has been along for the drive
As he stares over the wheel with a foot made of lead
Life is not finite
We live to live
Not solely to find our place in the limelight
Be and Exist
A tryst must be made to come true
Do not evade and elude
Life is your chance to be you
Shudder at commonality
True vitality is found only in duality, or three-ality
Escape reality and exist where and how you wish
We can only BE
When we see the big picture
Do not accept fixture or fixation
Become a mixture of elation and excitement
Enlighten the mind so that life may not bind you
Instead, retread previous ground
Abound and rejoice in your choice to inspire
Revel in the muck and the mire
It may just wipe clean the stain of wasted time transpired
Oh death your sting will plea
rejoice cancerous vile flesh.
And scab bandages the angel's plea.
of bliss to rest from arrogant men.
Mode I do abhor the card
casting of my flesh moray.
Lipstick stains and gill vanguard
tears swift by tram alleyway.
My memories the broadsword
thing left to hold me to thane.
Womb called life resale abhorred
permeability train.
Headed in the quest of
finality.
Today spits chicken parts true to the path
Losing ground confusion and rock and roll
Whirlwind brain cells
God is watching
No disappointing Him
All fears and mistakes
He has seen it all.
Impossible to stun or surprise Him.
All that is is Him
Love heals your cuts and bruises.
His love
Nothing ever happened
That He cannot forgive.
The simple solution is letting go.
Black holes fall into themselves
Fall into yourself
God's gravity will never change.
Today is the day, this minute
In this moment, moments will free
All the feared little blocks
That occupy your brain racing
Melt like dissolving sugar in hot broth.
Give up to Love
The same love that moves the stars
And the rodents at night
Is the love that God wants you to have.
Imagine a time when stress and anxiety are looked
Back on as a mistaken note.
God is Love is God.
Give up, our only task
Is begotten of God: to breathe in the
Love and never have a concern again
