As I Watched The Fiery Red Sun Slip Behind The Mountain

As I watched the fiery red sun slip behind the mountain
I tossed a silver dollar in the wishing well fountain
My dear wish was for the hand of my very passionate lover
And life together that such bountiful happiness covers
She that tells me, "my darling, my sleepy head, rise thee from bed"
Let us sightsee this world, and watch that huge falling ball of red
Me there pretending not to hear, but my lover knows my game
She laughingly dances right on over and yells out the same
And then she lays a very soft and a long passionate kiss
And that is the sweetest blessing that I did not want to miss
I reached out to snatch my lover into our large silk bed
Saying, "darling let just stay here and make sweeter love instead."

As I watched the fiery red sun slip behind the mountain.
I tossed a silver dollar in the wishing well fountain.

Midnight Verse-Introducing: Red Fiery and Poet Destroyer

The raven sky colored with white clouds
lifted its veil
Patiently waiting for its radiance to reveal
I watch these stars while you bathe in the sun
Our two world's apart, still the sky is one
The sunlight touches my warm feet,
While the gentle breeze embraces your heart beat

Stardust and Nightingales paint the sky
worldwide
As the sun turns in, now it's my time to hide
Tonight I embrace the same stars you slept with
Dreaming while you savor the sun made myth
This night I tuck my nightmares under my pillow,
Bathed by the stars, you romanced with your glow

Thank you so much Poet Destroyer for collaborating with me...Hugs Red

Premium Member Mirrored Thoughts - With Red Fiery

In another time and age
we could have written a new page
crossing paths on land or sea
brushing cheeks with destiny.
With youthful zest and joy
our ardent quills employ
to mix your ink with mine
with passion so divine
and then the words would flow
to set each heart aglow.

If our souls could sing and rhyme
beyond the horizon of time
to mirror our words with perfection
with utmost sincerity and affection
to bring distinct colours and shades
we seal a bond that will not fade
as we reach for eternity
bathing in blissful affinity.
Mirrored thoughts on a new page
in another time and age.

Premium Member Fiery Blue Eyes

Standing by her hospital bed, I didn’t feel the pain
Instead, I felt sorrow that she looked so very frail
Like a rose that’s been sitting in a vase far too long
Slowly losing petals that leave it looking like death
And I knew that it was her time to leave this place

Her strength had always been apparent to her family
She didn’t ever stop except to take a slow drag from
Her Winston, something many believed would kill her
Yet, she didn’t die from smoking, but from living longer
Than she might have expected to live when she was young

As I stared down at her closed eyes and remembered
Dread seeped through my veins, making me tremble inside
Leaving me with a melancholy that would lead me toward
Depression, then despair, and back into fear and tears
That rain down on my soul like a shower pours over the earth

I was drowning in my own words which would not come
Words of compassion and warmth, wailing out a echo of hope
That she might live through this mysterious illness that left her
Feeling like she couldn’t even open those bright expressive eyes
Which had always shown with compassion and insight and wisdom

When I left her there that night with a light kiss on the cheek
I didn’t know it would be the last time I would see her here
On this dismal ground where she had left me to live my life
Despite her death and the grim reminders of her beautiful spirit
Which color me in hues of blue, like her eyes, fiery blue

This Fury-Fiery Moment of Hot Sensual Love

This fury-fiery moment of hot sensual love nourishes us now,
As we move from a caress to razor-close, then to lover-close,
Intertwined as one in a true tempestuous storm sparkling afire!

We share such a white-hot passion with a boundless fiery desire,
Blending us deeply in a fury-fiery emotion of love’s true inspire;
Bringing us to this apex with lust as love and love in lust’s hour!

This magic moment melds our passion into a true alchemy of love.
This prized-perfect passion purrs us now into satiated contentment,
As our hearts bask-bright in a fury-fiery moment of sensual desire!

Down where the wisteria's leafed
Blossoms gone but not forgotten
The magnolia buds are poppin'
And clouds cover morn's risin' sun

The distant dove coos at daybreak
And I've never seen a fiery horse
What were Elisha's thoughts right then
Or this an everyday sight of course

From Gilgal to Bethel and to
Jericho the two did depart
On down to the Jordan where
Waters Elijah's mantel did part

On the other side of Jordan
Elijah asked Elisha his desire
Elisha wanted a double
Portion of Elijah's spiritual fire

Elijah could not promise this
Only God could be the giver
If you see me when I'm taken
Then this gift too will occur

As the chariots of fire and
horses pulled them asunder
Elisha saw Elijah taken
Quickly in a whirlwind's dust stir

As the thick clouds and fog drip mist
And roosters crow in the hollow
Will this wet day be the day
When lifted up all Christians hallo

may love spark again? of course

     flames tuckered time for amour?

OF AN EBONY HUED MID-SUMMER NIGHT DREAM
(Apropos of We Kings, Queens, and The Fiery Furnace)

Indeed, this is a day the Lord has made:-
Considering last night’s revelation dreaming,
Waking up into this day the Lord has made,
I must enjoy and be glad for being still vertical.

Although “The Great Dream” may have been deferred,
Indeed, it has not been forgotten and deterred.
Oh, they may have murdered its dreamer, but
His and our liberation dream is immortal:-

Looking out over the horizon of our challenged life,
It is realized that we Exodus people have come a long way;
Survivors of the blood-stained shadows of horrific death:-
And we have come this far on the sojourn by faith.

Yes, we have come this far by an inherent faith—continuing
To maintain and sustain us in the present perils of our lives:-
And as African-Americans, surviving in this deemed “promise land”,
We’ve had and continue to have a special kind of relationship with God.

During our living experiences here during and after debilitating slavery,
We’ve seen, heard, felt, and responded to the Word of God in ways that
Are unique to us as an African people of God; for indeed, as chosen ones,
We’ve always been able to sing and praise God in truth and in holy spirits.

Reflecting on the truth of ourstory, it is realized that we are of a people
Whom many would have expected to have stopped singing and praying
A long time ago; yet, from generation to generation, we’ve just kept on
Singing and praising and trusting in the love of God and His redemption.

Indeed, sacred revelations continue to bring us from extermination
To exaltation, from degradation of dignity, from nobody to somebody;
With wide wondering eyes on the prize, we continue to sojourn onward
For our eyes have seen His glory as we have continued marching in His truth.

Indeed, we not only believe but know that in the savior’s favor
Life is and while our perils may endure here a little while longer,
We know that a liberating joyful stay here on earth is on the horizon
Promised by that very present help to those who live in good trouble;

Thus, let us not be exhausted nor deterred by the ghost tyranny
But with undying faith and spiritual strength, let us victoriously
Demonstrate that we are not of the children of Sisyphus’ fate;
But living reflections of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego:-

Premium Member Death Blows a Fiery Horn

In a chariot of fire in the sun
blew a pale horse and pale rider’s last breath,
and on your grave sings a haunting raven
in the shadows of the valley of death.

Between trembling leaf and pohutukawa
the undertaker’s men stood grave and bier,
and brave stoic life filled the living hour
  forevermore a day, a week, a year.

These time echoes rise up from its bones,
and that lone raven's song on pit row
pipes through the rushes beyond the tombstones
where time cut short above stood still below.
Yet I fear death itself I shall not mourn
when its flame bearer blows its fiery horn.

But far more does sound a haunting in me
as if your faint voice my ear passing through -
and I trapped betwixt next world and earthly
sit this day communing with God and you.

Today I upon this ploughed earth sullen gaze
and hearken in the blooms the winds of death!
Its cold foul blow that bodes ill all my days
dares to breathe on me its cankered breath.

These time whispers rise up from its bones,
and that lone raven's song on pit row
pipes through the rushes beyond the tombstones
where time cut short above stood still below.
Yet I fear death itself I shall not mourn
when its flame bearer blows its fiery horn.

Premium Member A Fiery Lick

Something about paint
I absolutely adore!~feeling more
fluid-thinking when wearing an
old smock, branded with dashes and
blobs, to my mind each
one a stripe of rank with starry
splashes my medals –

like coral reefs

like florescent algae

a new canvas primed, runny
with liquid motion; I thrust
my igniting brush...somewhat
sad when all is dried and
framed; yet the good ones
remain tacky to the touch,
delightfully smeary to
the eye~like the wetted
hands of children, bringing their
innate patterns into active focus --

I think, when it comes to poetry
the ocean will never be entirely
emptied: what mysterious lyrics
lurk in such black, unrhymed depths –
by the magma-vents, like moths
writers are drawn to eerie glows,
shadowy forms~dauntless, ready to
risk even death for fiery licks
and rapturous cuddles....

Fiery Feelings

To smile again
After so much pain.
Long lost yearning
Fire still warmly burning
I'd rather a smile more than a kind word
Emotions speak volumes that cannot be heard.

Life drifts by
As time slips by
Caught in life's tidal flows
Gently ebbing time seems slow
The calendars years are subtly weathered
My hopes and fears are muddled and tethered.

My grip went stray
You slipped away
And drifted from my life
That hurts worse than a knife
But life likes cycles and a second chance
As the monsoon returns so does romance.

Premium Member The Best of Times

Splashed myself with Jovan musk..
to cover up sweat from the docks.
worked all day, back ached.,but I swear,
I'm comin' to see you bright-eyed one.

'Cause you were the best of times,
you were the worst of times, and
I swear to always love 'em both...

Quick fill up for the trusty Mercury..
picked through my favorite tapes,
while miles of curvy road fade to twilight.

Sister Fran said 'she'll be down in a minute',
I sit and talk to her and brother Tom..,
while you preen and finger the Aqua Net..

Fashionably late to the Sadie Hawkins dance.,
let it sway and twirl in your Farrah Fawcett waves,
acted bored at the tinsel covered gym,
friends in decoration committee made so fine..

And I care about you so, never want to let you go,
it's sure to break my weary mind.

Pull you close to let the street lights play..
pass my arm around elastic waist,
jean pockets were made to hook a lover
and I always love that bright eyed face.

Two fiery eyes shined in the best of times,
stormy reverie in the worst of times, and
I swear to always love 'em both...

Premium Member Fiery Spirit Leaps

Slowly pacing a captive rail,
her gaze pierces beyond red stars
eyes with burnt ire, a tigress howls
bellowing through jungles afar;

As pride of theme parks, she deplores
the ropes leashing an alluring gait,
others like her, in silence weeps
on circus grounds, in king's estate...

Sleek beauty wrapped in orange-black
her linings torn as branded fur,
oh Sumatran lynx, endangered
as man becomes the beast, she prepares;

When nature guides a fired escape
towering leaps endure what’s wrong,
and moonlight scans bold tigress' maze
on fields where her spirit belongs.

Hot to hold; a flame of gold glowing so bright,
spitting sparks into the unlit night.
Bending – leaning – dancing wave
standing tall and brave;
crackling - warm
light.
Insects swarm
into dooming plight,
soon they are gone, out of sight
into hot flame, deadly- full of bite.
Hot to hold; a flame of gold glowing so bright.
