Through Her Eyes Only

I brought her into this world,
But she is like a mother to me,
Darkness is the only colour for me,
Though I see the beautiful world,
Through her eyes only,
Every morning she holds my hand,
She walks with me in the garden,
Tells me the beauty of nature,
I see the magical creation of God,
Through her eyes only,
She sits next to me,
Tells me how water changes its colours,
When sun’s rays fall into the pond,
How swiftly the fishes change their directions,
There is only darkness all around,
Though I can see some light of hope,
Through her eyes only,
I can smell the roses,
I can feel the intense heat of the sun,
I can listen to the mystical sound of chimes,
But I can see none of them,
She clasps her little fingers around mine,
And makes me see beyond the darkness,
I remember to live every day,
Through her eyes only,
I cannot see my child,
But she is the apple of my eye,
I live because she is in my life,
I feel my existence in this world,
Through her eyes only,
I might give up on life,
But her indomitable will,
Helps me to survive,
I fall in love with the darkness,
Because it brings me closer to my child,
And I can see a beautiful life ahead,
Through her eyes only!

A female infant, born blind, was abandoned by her parents inside a church. The girl grew up not knowing her real parents. She was raised by a priest.

Many years she stayed in a room behind the church altar. And every time there is a mass, she hears everything and she sings while the churchgoers are singing different hymns.

Inside her room one night, she touched the big statue of the Virgin Mary asking... if the image can give light to her dark sight? Every night thereafter she did the same thing -- praying, hoping to see the beautiful world one day.

One night, an angel appeared before her telling her that she is beautiful. The girl said, "I wish I can see you right now! I can't even see my face in the mirror..."

The angel responded, "The light that you were asking for long time ago is already there in your eyes. You don't see me, but you can hear me. If you can feel me, then you will believe that I am real. If you will believe you are not blind, you will be!"

One Good Friday night, the girl was visited by the priest in her room. The priest noticed that the girl looks very exhausted while sleeping even after calling her name loud and changing her head pillow. The priest wanted to inform her that he will be gone for a while, but returning on Easter Sunday.

Two days later, the girl woke up with a big smile on her face, seeing everything around her all beautiful -- clear and bright.

For Your Eyes Only

Come walk with me I have something to show,
Close your eyes and I can't tell you where we'll go,
Do not peek because it might just ruin,
All I can say it's a special something.

Before you open your eyes I have something to ask,
It's not a trick question or some kind of task,
And by the way you bite your lips I know you're curious,
You're probably wondering if it's quite serious.

So while I get down on my knee upon this sand,
I promise not to let go of your shivering hand,
Keep you eyes closed no cheating please,
Just bare with me I know I tease.

So I guess my question is,
Oh wait I think there's something I missed,
Let me just find it just breathe for now,
I'm sorry I'm doing something I never knew how.

My question is 'Do you think you can open your eyes?'
Because I have here something for you I hope you wont despise,
And if you can't bare to talk just nod your head,
Or maybe an approving kiss instead.

Let me wipe what I hope are happy tears,
Please forget all your fears,
I am here whether you don't like it or you don't,
Because to leave your side I won't.

You are my psychedelic serendipity,
My crazy curiosity,
But just simply,
The only one for me.

They said we'd never make it
They said we would not last
And though we've had it rough, dear
For us, the dye's long been cast

They don't seem to understand it
They don't have a single clue
That though we have our problems
There is a magic glue

A glue so rare and precious
A glue so exquisitely fine
Forged out of our young love
Making you forever mine

We have a precious daughter
She is the forever bond
The union of our souls is she
Of whom you are so fond

Today as I watched you sleep
I longed to kiss you awake
With passion dipped words to say:
“Wake up, sweet love let’s make!”

And so I teased and I pleased you
Laid your head on my bare breast
I smiled at myself for I knew
That would bring on all the rest

I was not disappointed
You made me scream and sign
With techniques tried and true
You took me to the heavens high

And now you're getting older
You're climbing the ladder of time
Remember when you're old and grey
I'll still think you are sublime!

Eileen Manassian Ghali

A Little Background:

I wrote this some time ago for my husband, but I added to it to post it today. I met him when we were twelve, he asked me out at 14, I accepted him at 17 when I came back from the States, I married him at 26. We were neighbors, but our families were rivals of sorts. Regular Montegues and Capulets. His parents threatened to disown him if he married me. He was willing to go through the risk. This explains the beginning of the poem. It's been twenty years now. We are still together. The Title of the poem, a song by Sheena Easton, was "Our SONG."

For Their Eyes Only

They are the eyes behind the glass..

No line of sight for them..

There's shadows playing in the dark....

                             and only certain darkness...

No light to show the way..

the smooth surface of this plateau,
one you ache to know- with risen tips
following these curves and the valley again-
increasing the echo- with whispered lips of me
repeating- for your eyes only

Just For You and Your Eyes Only

You are sweet, charming and delight,
For your eyes only,
For your entire you,
I stand firm and fight,
Your feminine look, body is slender,
Your firmness, your waist,
Your listeners are all wrong,
But you, you are always right,
What can I say?
Everything is good,
And beyond description in you,
About you,
You all,
Together as whole,
You are the creation of the might!

For Your Eyes Only

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

I can’t decide what I want to hide
But I don’t have anything to show
To conceal all one feels
The fog’s obscuring all that I know
Conditions find the light that blinds
Clarify these blurry lines
I beseech you
Cut the cursed tie that binds

Through My Eyes Only

I look at life like a double rainbow. My sad times do not interfere.
I look at them as a mid-life break until my bright sun reappears.

Even if the sun doesn't shine, the skies are dark with dispair.
I look for that double rainbow, and I know there's love in the air.

My eyes take in the beauty, that this life has given to me.
I've quietly listened to birds sing, and I can brag that I've climbed a tree.

Through my eys only I can see my life, and every time that I've been blessed.
With all my friends who've held my hand the times I've been depressed.

So if your eyes can see the love that life has given you.
When you find that rainbow you'll know just what to do.

You will have your rainbow don't let sad time interfere.
Just look at them as mid life breaks until your bright sun reappears.

Silenced Virtues - For Her Eyes Only

Today I just wish to be silent
let my presence soothe all your pain
my fingers will touch your bottom
as my eyes watch over each grain

my virtue will be more than tested
as I breathe in the air you breathe
taking the moments to notice
you, instead of my needs

love it will not be wasted
as I drink in your every thought
time, sitting still, still is moving
and with feelings it can never be bought

listen as my heart fills the silence
don't let our feelings ever get lost

For Your Eyes Only

Oh that sweet love we crave
Freely given would enslave
Yes that yearning to belong
Just like the words to a song

Those feelings of sincerity
As love sleeps in parity
Slumbers deep, deep within
Purist hearts, dreams begin

Beyond the stars at rainbows fall
Dawns first light or sunsets call
I will reap this love I crave
And live the dream that she gave

In summer, I drag old bones to the beach.
High surf and bikini clad women teach
that, shining in the sun,
there are some kinds of fun
that are for me, not my eyes, out of reach.

Dear Milt,

I said I would...

                         *

The eager young man was a loner
Too timid to ask out Ramona
That outrageous flirt
Hitched up her short skirt
He’s now got an enormous, er, um... AHA!.. Desire to phone her???

                         *

What do you reckon? Poet Laureate? Knighthood? Fame? Fortune?
Hmmm... who organises those stars in the sidewalk?

For Your Eyes Only

For your eyes only
I give to you
The words that I can't speak
Yet each one is true

From somewhere within
This timeframe of life
You came along
And fit in just right

You make all the mundane
Not seem so bad
You're an uplifting spirit
Whenever I'm sad

There's an attraction down deep
That I can't describe
Leaving my words all bundled
And my mouth tongue-tied

When we met in this life
It had to be fate
Cause we formed a bond
That never will break

My words lack the feeling
My heart knows you deserve
Most writings come easy
But I'm at a loss for all words

I'm sure it's not chance
That brought you to me
Each time that you're near
An Angel I see

Your like Christmas morning
When I was five
My excitement abounding
You make me feel so alive

You deserve so much more
Than my words can express
I fallen short
So now I digress
