Best Energizer Poems

Adding Clarity To Ray Gridley's Limerick

Ray Gridley has a possible diagnosis
Alas, rabbits do catch viral myxomatosis
Since Jan's is a famous banging bunny
Who stays far from field and ANY honey
Energizer Bunny will bang on till unconscious!

Premium Member Polar Bear, I Am

I'm a polar bear, just that.
          Don't ever call me bi-polar
or I'll angrily maul you to death!

            Take a good look at me;
             I'm a hulking menace.
        Don't let my elephantine size
        fool you. I'm surprisingly agile;
           fast enough to chase down
                    an Arctic fox!

        I'm a formidable apex predator
and wanderer of the North Pole.
             When you don't see me,
           I'm probably in hibernation.
             My hunger is unslakable.
I can eat up to 10%...

of my bodyweight in 30 minutes!
My dense coat and body fat
insulate me so warmly that I...
        sometimes overheat in summer.
When I do, I cool down by
          plunging into the ice-cold sea.

Did I mention I can stand and
fight on my hind legs? I'm like the
     energizer-bunny; incessantly mobile,
       roaming hundreds of miles across
             the barren Arctic tundra
in search of seals and fish.

              I'm all dressed in white;
     the snowbank, the perfect camouflage
for me to suddenly sneak up on a prey.
Invade my frozen kingdom at your peril.
I rule the arctic wastes like the king lion
                  rules the Serengeti!

Premium Member Pantyhose Stress

Dedicated to My Son, The Bedtime Kissy-Keeper Giver

Like a virgin to stressed messes surging,
I struggled with bridges on parental ridges
when I wore both mom and work britches.
Young years adhered pleasure steered twitches
but grown changes sewed pressure stitches.
I changed to a day and night striving
female getter-doner; an energizer twit-nit
who conquered to-do lists into done bits.
I became every weekday employee,
pay postured towards green seen garnered.
I was more a get-byer than I was a
future green funds keen accumulator.
Nightly, I morphed into dinner’s meal cooker
still dressed in work time's pantyhose stress.
I dreamed of a pajama seamed frame
before next becoming a kitchen mess cleaner,
homework tutor, tub time clean scrubber and
loving night-nighttime book reader.
I found no awakes take was sweeter
than my child’s beddy-bye kissy keepers
and prayed my son’s most precious styled love
would counter the stresses that I was made of.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

If I Just Could

If my heart
could stand alone
Hold on its spirit's
greatest energizer
I'll let it kneel at your side,
give you praise.....
for you alone!

If my eyes will be blind
for the next day,
I'll wish one thing
I could see
Before that darkness
dissolve my soul,
I want to see
your radiant beauty and splendour.

Coz I read your eyes
As the heavens above,
The lunar brilliant picture
of the rare blue moon.
The lips of ocean
in breeze of snowy winter,
Golden relics of angel's coveted
wings of light.

For you alone
dearest heaven on earth
My life, glory and strength
For you alone
dearest crimson lips
The one I really
missed the most.

Now the special day had arrived
I speak my love to you my love.
For this heart only speaks of you
I'll hold till next time I see you smile.

Premium Member The Galloping Gingerbread Boy

I am chasing a galloping gingerbread, and the little old man and the
Little old woman and a rake and a fork and a spoon are helping me
When another villager begins yelling at the top of his musical scale,
“Christmas is here! Christmas is here!”

My eyes pop open. I am disoriented, not knowing where I am at first.
The galloping gingerbread cookie has turned into a galloping real-live-boy!
I must have fallen asleep on the couch, after sitting down for just a minute.
Three children in the form of sixteen battalion of horses

Hit those stairs like percussion instruments.
They have discovered that Santa left half of a frosted cookie.
Two are screaming while the oldest one devours it.

My husband plods in from the kitchen and smarter than Nero,
Forks over a chocolate-milked, double sugared, coffee. My hero!
I see you got finished, He says to me, the wrapping-present-queen
I nod. I was going to just sit down a second, before I came to bed.

He smiles, knowing how fast sometimes the energizer bunny
falls down in total exhaustion mode, in the form of his honey.
Max throws himself into my arms, warm pajamas and all.
A galloping gingerbread cookie, in the form of a live doll!

Splitting Easter Hares

T'was Easter morn and she thought it strange and funny,
Her basket contained neither chocolate, eggs nor money,
But there laid in the Easter grass,
To the surprise of the happy lass,
Was a package of batteries signed " Energizer Bunny".

Description of my love's Easter basket this morn, she found in the hay barn.

Never Quit 1

Never give up, won't call me a quitter
My heart's like soap water, so nasty and bitter
Do it big, call me gigantic, it's going down, Titanic
Got the heart of a lion, never see me panic

Call me a mute, done things, but I'll never say

Cross me, and like a rental, you gon' pay

I'm on top of the cake, not talking icing

Got a million dollar car, but no license

Like a bad student, it got suspended

I keep moving, the law gets offended

On the road to money, never running out-of-gas

Got my foot on the pedal, can't let you pass

Never drunk driving, sober, till I reach my destination

I get money, it's an instinct, no hesitation

I ain't the energizer-bunny, but I'll never stop

'Cause I'm on a mission, like a special opt

Try me, get smacked upside-the-head, whack-a-mole

Slide on fools, like strippers do on a stripper-pole

Won't stop till it's over, I ride to the finish

My mind's focused, so watch how I win this

Kids Can Be So Funny, a Memoir

Kids can be so very funny
Especially when we see them laughing and sunny.
I remember wiping my son's nose so runny
After he had been going like the 'Energizer Bunny'.

Parents are proud when kids first learn their shoes to tie
Or learn to ride a bike on their first try.
Sometimes my son would make me cry
When he wanted to play 20 questions of "Why"?

Their faces are filled with a happy joy
When they receive a brand new toy.
Sometimes I used that age old ploy
Of saying, "Don't cry now, you're a big boy".

It is hard for me to try to write
A few words about trying to fly a kite.
I guess you would call it my solo plight
To relate how I recall the beauty of flight.

Kids jog our memory of the things they've done
Like blowing out a candle when they were one.
We can never go back to those days of fun
But our 'Kids will always be Kids', be they 6, or 30, or 61.

Clue-Who Murdered the Easter Bunny

It’s been ten days, the Easter Bunny is gone with hardly a trace,
The Missus is inconsolable- an Easter basket-case,
Evidence in plastic bags, some fibers and some fur,
The family suspects foul play, the police, they do concur,
This once pristine meadow has senselessly been fouled,
Safety and security has now been disemboweled,
“Mark my woids!” Bugs cried out “Sample that bastids’ blood!”
“No one hates rabbits more than that twisted Elmer Fudd!”
“You’re paranoid” Rodger snorted “the one who murders for kicks...
is that obvious cereal killer, the rabbit from the box of Trix,
“Wrong again” sniffed Uncle Wiggly, “you’re no kind of private-eye”
“But speaking of tricks, when you see her next, tell Jessica that I said hi”
“You can’t just point your finger and tell the police to slap on the cuffs”,
You’re so afraid of your own shadow; you’ve filled your pants with cocoa puffs,
Peter leapt up “A demented rabbit killer, it’s McGregor that’s plain to see!”
“He’s got my clothes on a pole in his garden, hanging in effigy!”
Wiggly shot back “…or is it gang related? Their alibis are somewhat frail”,
“Exactly where were those thugs, Flopsie, Mopsie and Cottontail?
“Hanging around Thumper and Br’er Rabbit; I tell you they’re all the same!”
“Do I really have to remind you all how Thumper got his name?”
Borrowing their hole deeper and deeper, down into that rabbit hole
Theories and explanations, none of which could console,
It will make little difference, because now there will be no Easter
The debate will go on and on, as scared rabbits talk out their keisters,
In a squalid little burrow on the wrong side of the rabbit tracks
Amid the empty red bull cans, lies a bloody axe,
On the handle of the door a “do not disturb’ sign is hanging
And in the bedroom is the Energizer; but it’s not his drum he’s banging,
There the recent widow is doing what bunnies do best,
Meanwhile across the field they are laying her hubby to rest.

An Old Fools Worry

An Old Fools Worry

I’ve been a silly jester
Nearly my entire life.
Even as a goofy school kid
Way before I had a wife.

I’ve always found real pleasure
In making people laugh.
But the problem is so often
It’s from the making of a gaffe.

I find as I’ve grown older
At times a bit more feeling.
Words can more that sting
They may leave a person reeling.

I admit, at times I’m careless
Something strikes me funny
I take off with it a runnin’
Like the 'Energizer' bunny.

But sometimes as I’m leaving
I’ve just been the silly clown
I sense upon my victims face
A held back, “hidden” frown.

I’ve even sensed much worse
It’s become a growing fear
That when I’m gone, the pain
Has even caused a tear.

The problem as I see it is
The ones we love the most
Because we know them best
Are oft our unwitting host.

I’ve always felt that they should know
I wouldn’t ever mean to harm
But that don’t stop the hurt
From the twisting of their arm.

An old friend used to say:
You can’t know the public’s mood.
Nor where this person’s been
Or what just happened to their brood.

What news they’ve just been handed
The experience they’ve just felt.
They might have rather now
You’d have struck them with a belt.

I so seldom pause to sense
Who may have kicked their cat.
Or where impassioned minds
Fervent thoughts are focused at.

So with that I’ll summarize
Let you know what I’m drivin’ at.
The very next time I start my spiel
Signal “It’s not your turn at bat.”

Cause life, I’m finding, is short
So if my way of silly teasin’
For whatever be your reason
Is at all a bit displeasin’.

Just tell me so. Make it clear
A moment of forced laughter
Isn’t worth losing a good friend
Certainly not, for ever after.

Adjective Dream New Bloodcontest

A dandelion sun floats in a
Ty-D-Bowl sky, and
dewy young girls with hair
like shining copper pennies
and unsalted butter
bathe beneath it.

With faith born of MTV,
they worship Ocean---
her heavy metal fury,
her power ballad calm.

But Eros interrupts,
sending her own virile priests
with Bowflex bodies and
Energizer loins
to defile the idolators.

Ocean rebels
and paves the lazy sky
in asphalt clouds.
Sharp quills of rain sting
both priests and congregants
as they run for cover.

Eros laughs.
Ocean waits for another day. -5/16/2015

Daddy's Little Princess Ii

Daddy Little Princess...
Daddy’s little princess, my bundle of joy, my reason for living, my happiness in the winter season
Your warm penetrating eyes scream you’re mine…
Daddy’s little princess, my motivation, my energizer bunny, my special baby
Your gentle sunny smile melts my heart…
Daddy’s little princess, my hope, my secret ambitions wrap in the palm of your hands
Your soft delicate demeanor makes me see the world a little better

Premium Member Inherent Energy

Trains, planes and automobiles all require fuel
But the best form of transportation was a gift from God
Clad in socks, abused on jogs, squeezed into heels
When it comes to moving people, let's give feet the nod

Energy is something we had, not purchased
So let's take a few steps back in history
In olden days, we walked where we wanted to go
Let's prove we can get around without an Energizer battery

Premium Member Walk With Me

Walk these streets with me
Observe the cracked sidewalks
That poor people walk
And rich people balk
Look at the dilapidated strip malls
And broken down concert halls
Once resplendent and representative of the American Dream
Now a bitter reminder of an empire in decay
And it's not okay
But we're living in the ghost of glory
A former empire set on fire
We're in dire but led by liars
Serenaded by choirs of bugs and mice
It was the middle class who paid the price
Whose feelings might as well be chiseled with ice
Because we're melting in the pot
As our dreams begin to rot
With nary a thought from the billionaires
Who will be there but without a care
Walk these streets with me
Look at the hopeless eyes
Starving and fed up with lies
We sold the American Dream
For an American meme
The gears of capitalism keep turning
As the cities keep burning
We greased the gears with blood
And enough tears to cause a flood
Suffering so much we can't fight for our own life
As the media sows seeds of division and civil strife
And when you speak out
They'll break you down and make people doubt
But walk these streets with me
Look at the grafitti on the walls
It's heartfelt and more inspired than what the media calls
Cinema which is just there to distract
From the fact that we're on the wrong track
And even worse on the wrong train
Filled with those who COVID-19 has slain
But if I have your attention folks
Don't forget he who called it a liberal hoax
Look at the fires in California
Look at the water level rise
We're on a path to demise
Look at the hurricanes
Every summer bringing fresh pain
Look at the wealth increases of Bezos, Musk, and Gates
The grass is greener on the other side but this is our fate
Walk the streets with me
And look with me
The Panama Papers
The Pandora Papers
The convenient death of Epstein (he didn't kill himself, did he?)
All to protect the cowards in power
But like the energizer bunny we keep going
And going and going and going and going
Only the batteries are finally dying
And the leaders play games and are lying
Knowing we're running out of time
Just walk with me and look at the grime
Look at the America you don't see on TV
It's where you will see me
And millions just like me
And maybe you'll see this idea that we're free
Is just a fantasy

Premium Member The Meeting Place of Poets

Your opinions make me feel welcome
Your inspiration keeps me going
Going like the Energizer bunny
Going like a train on a high speed chase
Chase with a passion
Chase for the sake of it
It is with love and kindness you share
It is the simple knowledge that you care
Care for what I say
Care with a dripping honesty
Honesty that speaks volumes
Honesty that helps me improve
Improve steadily
Improve gracefully
Gracefully I take it all in
Gracefully tasting
Tasting the sweetest triumph
Tasting the most bitter pill
Pill that fills me
Pill that becomes obsession
Obsession that swallows whole
Obsession over little things
Things are but possessions
Thing can't compare to the human thought
Thought that turns into action
Thought counts, but useless without motivation
Motivation is hard to find, but
Motivation is your specialty
Specialty, sweeter that grandma's cookies
Specialty to die for!
For morning when my day begins
For late at night to calm the stress
Stress of the constant tug-a-war
Stress that you my friends can relieve
Relieve like ice on a hot summers day
Relieve like spray to keep mosquitoes away
Away on opalescent wings
Away my worries fly
Fly to the top I will!
Fly beside me, for you seek the same place
Place where jigsaw puzzles reset themselves
Place where poet exchange greeting cards
Cards in flowery pink and violet
Cards in onix and dreary gray
Gray seems bland I know, but
Gray is black and white, the marriage of war and peace
Peace isn't easy to find,
Peace resides here I believe
Believe...
Find...
