Best Empty Promises Poems
You time my heart
Day and night
you see my innocent heart
Night and day
you think of me
Day and night
You fill my heart
Day by day
With empty promises
You fake a smile
At night fall
When I need you the most
You fill my heart
with empty promises
I thought I was wise
Days will make me wise
you lofty empty promises
Haunt my soul not
from that lips of you
I thought you were an angel
But it was just a dream
You left at the crack of dawn
Filled my bed with empty promises
Time wont pass me by
Leave me and I will be free
Your heart owes me nothing
But just empty promises
Go in peace and love
I need to have an everlasting promise
you empty promise
I send you away
Send you away in light
my soul is free
The freedom I deserve
Go in peace and love
EMPTY PROMISES HE MADE
His vows on a piece of paper he wrote
It was written; I quote,
"In happiness and in sadness,
In poverty and in wealth,
In sickness and in health,
I will love you until death,
I will give you the joy you gave
to your parents at your birth."
End of quote.
He changed like a weather
He changed his attitude
He became so rude
His actions were no good
He became abusive
He became manipulative
Love was lost
He became involved with other women
Went to late night parties with other men
He saw himself as the only family's voice,
acted as the boss
Even applied for divorce
His vows he did not keep
He made his wife to weep
Because of his EMPTY PROMISES.

I can recall alot of empty promises you made.
And I can remember several times when you got my hopes up,
Then crushed them like it was nothing.
These feelings I know well.
Because I always let myself fall for it.
Even though I knew what would happen.
I always thought you would change.
That's a lie.
I always hoped you would.
That maybe just once,
You'd want to be a part of my life, for good.
But who was I kidding.
You couldn't even remember my birthday.
I don't know if I can ever forgive you, for what you've done.
The day you came to the hospital to see your granddaughter after she was born,
I let my hopes get so high again.
And no surprise you crushed them.
I might forgive you one day.
But I'll never forget.
And I'll never let you hurt my daughter.
Like you hurt me, your daughter.
empty promises, what do they mean?
Empty promise, what do they say to the listener?
Empty promises, do you ever hear them?
Empty promises, I want no more,
Empty promises, to hear them is so very hard..
Apathy, so common in my world,
Apathy, it is everywhere,
Apathy, everyone is willing to share,
Apathy, no more can i stand to bear.
Laughter, I hear it all the time,
Laughter, with my eyes open, closed,
Laughter, Its a constant song, to my aching ears,
laughter, I no longer fear..
Empty Promises, they hold no water, no more meaning,
Apathy, its hear to stay Im sorry to say,
laughter, society is filling my world to the brim,
Absense, I will now pratice,
Absence, I will now give back to them,
Absence, NO longer am I hear,
Absence, I have a plan, please dont reach out your hand,
For its too late, You had your chance,
Im taking a Permanent Stand..
GOODBYE!!!!.............................................................................................
The wing of my thought is mountains of disappointments in my skull. The birds clipped their wings descending to heaven. The boulevard to my house is full of thorny grave killing my feet. The heart earthquakes every moment I think the fear of failure in my garden gate.
The smile cloud of darkness black memories fighting for freedom colonizes my mind. All friends ruined in their memories hijacked and hacked to death with singsong of caricatures protracted idle talk calling for political changes.
Over thousands years under the shadow of death pelting lit lamp to serve my community. I hunt happiness to feed my burning soul, and calling hustlers on the streets. I condoned war to establish peace, I ignore poverty to stay focus and glorify the Almighty Allah.
Which my community never realized, systematically I dashed an argument to beat sadness in my rivers of thinking. The night descends and yearning for powers to fly miles from home, the thunder roars all night
People thinking fly the entire night like kite on storming day, the rain keeps pouring down to shape the world and all night we juxtaposed. The earth oozes musky smell which reminds me of about abandoned child in my community.
The left becomes the right the night becomes the day, they crucified the truth with falsehood. he women lost their pride for digging gold on the streets of our community to make end meet on the face of political warfare.
The flowers no longer impressing to the eyes of the world, and death rains in to cleanse the sins man committed on the lands. So that they will be learn to prepare for the arrival of the unknown.
The emptied bottle's contents
Are swirling down the drain
But when tomorrow comes
She'll pay with pills and pain
Her meager meal is forgotten
Flushed down the greedy pipes
But when tomorrow comes
She'll just go on to cuts and stripes
The cigarettes are gone now
"Im gonna quit I swear"
But when tomorrow comes
Those words were never there
The drugs are in the trash bin
The needles thrown away
But when tomorrow comes
She'll play a whole new game
The razors in the dumpster
Awaiting tomorrow's hurt
Because when tomorrow comes
The promises are worth as much as dirt
Your promises hold no meaning
Like old, brittle plastic they fall apart easily
I held onto them once, long ago
But now they have become nothing
Dead and meaningless
The words reverberating through my head
I want so desperately to hold onto the belief-the hope-that you’ll hold true
But you never do
And like a fool, I never make you
I never hold you to your word
But I do not believe it anymore
Your promises mean nothing
Your promises contain nothing
They do not come like a promise should
They do not hold, the fall and break, like abandoned buildings
Left without the care they so desperately need
Left, alone, to be forgot
Left, to rot
Your promises…are not promises
Because you just forget
You always forget
But I never do
I hold on to each and every one
With a false, dying hope, that maybe…you’ll remember
Just one, remember just one
It’s all I’d need to restore my belief in you
But you continue to make dead promises
Never holding up to what you say
Never
Never
All I ever get are empty promises
Nigerian graduates,
Suffering because of unemployment,
believing in government’s empty promises.
A meaningless hope on a janus-faced entity
governing sadistically.

We came down
The mountains and passageways
We came down
In search of new days
We came down
To live life in our own way
Only to find
The same dump of decay
Dictated by many
Ruled only by one
Our only freedom
Is owning our guns
We came down
The oceans and waterways
We came down
Like fish in a bay
We came down
On the quest for the new land
We came down
Because we can
Hope for our freedom
Has been forsaken
Results now show
We were sadly mistaken
We came down
The mountains and passageways
We came down
And were betrayed
Empty promises.
You begged me to stay.
Told me your life was falling apart
And i was the only way.
My hopes rose.
I awated those words to come from your mouth.
And now it all amounted to nothing.
You lied again.
Bad.
Your broke my heart again.
Sad.
Now nothing to do but sit here and wonder.
What is going to become of this? Is all i can ponder.
isn't it funny how we say
'there's always tomorrow!'
when every moment of our life ahead
is like dice tossed on a board
what are the odds we live?
there is anticipation in every moment
yet we make plans for years later
we break hearts like we'd live forever
we hold back from making amends
we promise ourselves we'll be better tomorrow
Empty promises which hold on weight
Blowing aimlessly in whatever direction the winds chooses
Whispering lies and deceiving the most strongest of minds
The hollowness entangled within your lies torture the very innocence contained throughout
my dreams
Shattering every existence of hope
Launching them into an abyss of darkness
Surrounded by a sea of victims who have suffered a similar fate
No greater than my own misguided trust
You promised me the world, but only gave me the slums.
You promised me the moon and stars, but only gave me ashes.
You promised me happiness, but only gave me heartache.
You promised me love, but only gave me pain.
And when you promised to always be true,
I didn't realize it was only to you.
Empty promises..
You smothered me in lies..
Then you said your goodbyes..
A con in disguise you were..
As you lured me in your web of treachery..
You played a fools game..
As I drowned in your chess pool of madness..
Soaked to the skin in your lying web..
Hurt and betrayal join hands as one..
Empty promises made..
I do declare..
that I lay it to rest..
I have been deceived..
Now it's time to bereave and let go..
Empty promises ..
Goodbye to all the pain..
As I remain sane..
I join hands and remove the pain..
Stop telling me it's all right
when I know that it's not
Stop acting like everything's okay
as if I had forgot
Don't tell me this means nothing
when I know it means so much more
Don't tell me things will change
because I've heard it all before
You'll keep making empty promises
as if I don't know they're all lies
Yet, I still can't let you go
You are my demise
