With the tremulous dark vista so far and yet so near
Abandoning my defences ~ I stand in awe ~ not in fear

 Virtuoso Maestro unleash
       a Composition Grandioso
              To Overtures of a Symphony
                   herald the raging storming Tempo
                                   Staccato Strains cascading
rapid torrents of Treble and Tremolo
                    Rhythmic Beats a Prelude
to an intensifying Triple Time Scherzo

Silken sail unfurled I embrace the storm of your tempestuous symphony
Crashing~ drifting~ floating~ flowing~ tasting ~awakening my melodic epiphany

                               Effervescent chilling thrilling air as
                    Allegro whelms Allegretto
                               Electrifying sizzling Musette ~
                                         Trills a mesmeric Capriccio
                           Registers booming Bass Notes
                    rumbling within your thunderous Vibrato
    Echoing claps of thunder Prompt
                a spectacular Cadence Crescendo

I release my Spirit to gratify every phantasy in its sight
The soaring Tempest of my Soul liberates its own Philharmonic flight
Inhibitions abandoned as I succumb to your Music of the Night

Footnote:
By way of musical term allegory, I have endeavored to dramatize and romanticize the Awesomeness of an Electrical Thunderstorm and simultaneously likening it to the rush of tactual Sensual, Sexuality and Emotions experienced in romantic instances. I felt that the instrumental rendition of ‘The Phantom’ Musical, aptly accentuates the trepidation, anticipation and elating sentiments portrayed in the various elements of my poem.

Hey there Mister Bobby May,
I am sure I speak for all
When I say,
That you are a steadfast poet
On Soup, your poems are of note,
Your charm and warm charisma
Are like hot chocolate and vanilla
Ice cream,
Your passion for poetry sails
On fluffy white clouds that
Journey in your vivid imagination,
With breath-taking fertile fascination,
Arriving at Awesome destinations,
Elating us all with your intense
Poetic creations,
So although it’s your poetry contest,
Perhaps I and many others
Would, with the fondest
Of thoughts, choose you as a friend,
Because the gems you have penned
Deserve to be mentioned,
For you always seriously evoke
Our devoted attention.

This poem is not for Bobby May’s contest.
It is for you Dear Bobby May.

Premium Member The Returning Smiles

The Retuning Smiles

i see beneath pairs of almond-shaped, green leavess
On white fabric, flowers set with four heart-shaped petals,
The color of sun-kissed blueberries,
Decorating the smocked sundress of the pig-tailed toddler
.Hanging over the crook of her mother’s arm, and
With her dazzling, black eyes looking all around
For some reason to be let down
Just as I was passing by,

Happy to see a pretty little child. and say, “Hi!”
The way any older woman might,
Wishing to receive a second’s gift
From the beauteous youth of the child’s smile.
But, she leaned into her mom’s chest, shy, seeing me
Stand there, one hand eagerly waving along with
My saying, “What nice flowers all over your dress,”
Diverting her attention from me down to what she wore
— The bright hearts scattered over her knees,
Causing a slight smile as her head lifted,
Which I shared, showing her my own happy,
     big, slightly giggling smile,
To which her mom leamed in to kiss
Her darling girl nose to nose, thus blessing
Away the shyness…so the little girl
Shifted to sitting tall on her mom’s elbow
To seriously size me up
for herself, eye to eye —
For some moments —
While I almost lost hope.
Until at last her creased lips started to part.
The corners of her mouth rose, showing
Her several front, white baby teeth,
Set to share her smile,
Elating me, so I announced loudly,
    “How pretty you are smiling!”
But when i lifted my eyes to see
Her reaction to my gleeful words,
There was no child, nor mother there. Even
Gone was the street I assumed
    I’d been walking along…

And neither had I been dreaming, but
Speaking as I had into the air beyond my bed.
I’d been hallucinating. Another instance lately
That comes out of the blue, while wide awake,
Likely caused by the prefacing of exhaustion and
    horrid pain I sometimes feel
Crossing my sight and mind with a
Boosting interplay with people who’re likely to smile ~

Who come, then go.

Premium Member If I Were the Color of Love - 1

If I were the color of darkness
Night blackening my vision
While my eyes twinkle gentle
Like the stars, drifting in song
Caressing the sky with tones
Of life beyond the blessings

If I were the color of laughter
Lighting the soul with joy
Elating the world with warmth
Vibrant and pure, feelings so true
They cry out with delight
Insight into the heart’s beauty

If I were the color of storms
Rainbows pouring across the noon
After the rain has departed
Left only the music of pastel lines
To embrace the mind who sees
God’s artwork flowing over the trees

If I were the color of silence
Serene and soulful as peaceful dreams
Faded into the smiles of kindness
Brought to the one who knows only
Prayers felt on the heart’s shadows
Praising the Lord for His stillness

If I were the color of blessings
Sent on the wings of angel’s breath
Shining on hopes and devotions
Reflecting on the simplicity of joy
That lingers on the touch of His hand
Reaching down to my spirit with a caress

If I were the color of love
I would sing to God above of the many
Miracles He’s given me in this life
And thank Him for grace, faith and more…
The sense of purpose that comes from
Living for the Son who is so pure and good!

Premium Member Devoid of Sustenance

This night of misery my essence rapidly descending
Tears like summer rain cascading
O for this dark wintry night prolong
Breaking heart aches so forlorn

Circumstance, distance always impeding
In silence apprehensive heart conceding
Devoid of sustenance waiting in anguish
Quiescent alone in sorrow I languish

As posts interweave deferring
Father Time nonchalant delaying
Yet, essence nourish essence elating
Unadulterated love relaying

Tonight, on borrowed wings my heart must fly
To sheltering warm arms in which I'll lie

Premium Member A Song for Christmas

At Christmas when earth is laden with snow
The world sparkles with a silvery glow
There is an exuberant atmosphere
Of peace, hope and an abundance of cheer.

Bright paper chains hung across the ceiling
Stirring the elating festive feeling
Fir trees magically decorated
An annual custom throughout the ages.

Come all people, o’er the earth
Share the glory of Christ’s birth.

Standing below street lamps, carol singing
The jubilant sounds of church bells ringing
Children waiting with anticipation
Santa’s visit to their habitation.

Chocolate coins displayed upon the tree
The little Father Christmas handkerchief
Placed inside stockings filled with candy treats
For the children, when rousing from their sleep.

Come all people, o’er the earth
Share the glory of Christ’s birth.

Family and friends share the special day
That commemorates Jesus Christ’s birthday
Joyfully merry, all day long they sing
In honouring Jesus, born King of Kings.

In a manger Mary's baby boy lay
Nestled gently on a bed made of hay
Angels watched o’er Jesus day and night
The child who was sent to shine Godly Light.

Come all people, o’er the earth
Share the glory of Christ’s birth.

Premium Member Paper Airplanes

Paper Airplanes
I made paper airplanes decades ago
One super creation I named Zoomo
Once my Zoomo and I took off in flight
Lift off was on the first stroke of midnight.

I was the pilot and what fun we had
If the folks had seen us they'd have gone mad
Freedom's elating, no hullabaloo
Able to do all things you wish to do.

First stop just had to be a moon landing
Though the surface was not fit for standing
The moon said that he was made of soft cheese
If we weren't careful we'd sink in with ease.

So we took off to meet Venus the star
She was so beauteous it was bizarre
Her hair was a stunning shade of bright gold
And many stories from the past she told.

She told of her romance with Adonis
A hunter to whom marriage was promised
But by a wild pig he was killed outright
Now she rules o'er love and beauty by night.

Then we zoomed higher and higher up sky
And heard angels singing as we flew by
Zoomo said we were close to paradise
So I then u-turned our speedy device.

Realising soon day would be dawning
And had to fly back home before morning
We arrived safely and I got in bed
Just as mother said "wake up sleepy head.”

Premium Member The Ballad of Daphne and Jack, the Sequel

Gather 'round me, my dears,
I'll continue the tale
Of a princess and her pirate lover.
Of her crown unencumbered,
They pillaged and plundered
As they wandered the seven seas over.

Crimes maritime were elating
And invigorating
'til Jack noticed a bulge in her tummy.
The princess first was offended,
But then she comprehended
He would soon be a dad, she a mommy.

Two months later, one morn,
Daphne's baby was born,
She said, "Time to rethink our position.
If we stay here, our child
Will grow wicked and wild,
We must provide better, milder conditions."

Jack's crew were confused
When he told them the news,
All they knew how to do was be pirates.
None of them had a dime,
And all too far past their prime
To go home and move in with their parents.

Jack chuckled and chided,
Their fears he derided,
And then much to their mirth and enjoyment,
He said, "We'll start a new industry
That sells hospitality
And offers year-round and seasonal employment."

Do you remember the king?
That mean, stingy old thing
Died alone in his big empty palace.
But before his reign ended,
His will was amended,
And Princess Daphne inherited alles.

She thought the place would work well
As a swanky hotel
Or a posh B&B just for pirates.
But Mad Jack and his gang
Were arraigned and then hanged,
They should have kept their retirement more private.

And thus, dear ladies and dudes,
My narration concludes
About Daphne's and Jack's days of glory.
She turned her dad's mausoleum
Into a pirate museum
And made a killing, some say,
Conducting tours every day
For visitors who'd pay
To hear a pirating princess' story.

Premium Member What Is Worship

What IS worship?
You may not know
if your bored, stare into the air,
recite without insight,
sing without glee,
do not know if you’re free…

What is worship?
It’s a kinship
between you
and the King.
It is looking up…
It is falling to your knees…

Do you hate the thought
of being humbled?
I hate the thought of pride…

God sees us in our lowly stance
and picks us up to take us
on the greatest ride.

The chariot flies.
My eyes are closed…
My eyes are open…

I am breathless at the glory…
How can I NOT praise Christ!

What one of you would humiliate yourself…
What one of you would give IT ALL UP…
What one of you would allow the extreme…
What one of you would suffer, be betrayed,
have all your friends run away, be slapped
and whipped and not cry out for heaven’s help…

…to the death, bleed out
…even then be mocked
…betrayed by YOUR creation

Why worship…why NOT?

Worship is NOT
berating
hating
yawning
but elating…

Mercy and grace
likewise not pondered
and then you wonder
at His justice…

what about ours?

As for me and my house
we will gladly leap and holler,
sing, raise hands with wonder…

gloriously wonder at the God
who loves this needle in a haystack,
who lets me feel the fullness
of my soul…his salvation
makes me whole.

Premium Member Star Seeds

As night time sets in, my arms wrapped around you, waiting
Feelings of warmth I share with you, mine inside totally are elating
A field of darkness springs from the horizon emanating
Star seeds infinity planted throughout it, germinating
I hold you as still water surrounds us, your beauty without debating
You exceed all expectations exceptionally in a word, obliterating
My unhappiness that was brewing and percolating
As you enjoy a dozen red scents, twelve times more happiness, I wish for you than I'm relating
Your enchanting, extraordinary, respecting you even after those growing stars no longer radiating

Premium Member The Utopia Untrodden

Have seen an utopian lane, amidst the thicket, latent In the abode of the clouds, in the lap of the tranquil wilderness, far far away from the mundane mist!
A wheezing sparsely inhabited hamlet, Khonoma, a centuries- old settlement, so green, so serene!
Its' pristine unsullied views, lush wilderness, verdant bushes, aromatic wild blooms, resplendent orchids, rippling rills, are untouched and sacred!

The Angami tribes, the thorpes' dwellers lead an uncustomary simple life, crammed with ancient, timeless traditions and practices, with nature's absolute accord!

The unique panaromic cultivation practice, terrace farming, sprawling on the slopes makes the very sight elating!
Look, the remote richest biodiversity region is twirling with the endemic scented native flora and fauna, the boscage are cramming with untamed wild colourful fruits!

The revered cultural bird, the grey-billed Tragpon, is intoning from the bushes, making the milieu frolic!
Myriads of colourful birds are migrating to nestle in the sacred bushes of the mystic rills!
The pellucid drops from the misty mesas of nearby cascades are playing with the colourful pebbles!

Far from the pandemic, the cherubic hilly terrain is bustling with cerulean rills, shrouded by tropical rain forests and stepped paddy fields!

How finite are the rustic folks' wants and needs, the primitive shanties to dwell, the crystal cascades to quench, the crops of the golden fields to feed the mouths, the vibrant fiestas with nature's changing seasons to celebrate!

A paragon of men and nature in absolute harmony, is lying placidly, the transcendental picturesque tableland, Khonoma, the wheezing green hamlet, an utopia untrodden to bless the naive natives of the far flung highland!

" Sometimes in quest of no man's Utopia, we may miss the existing unleashed Utopia in proximity, yet untrodden " Quote by poet

Let Me Touch You

Please let me touch you, I really must, you see
Your being is so special, you mean so much to me
I need to touch you daily, please, won’t you be so kind
I’ll touch you when you want me to, so be it you don’t mind

Please let me touch you, it would make me feel so good
It would fill me with such happiness, but if you only would
My touching you would please me like you would never know
If you would be so kind, please then accept my request just so

Aah, there it is, that’s perfect, do you see just what I mean?
My touching you is elating me like you have never seen
The response is great; it’s turbulent, yet so inspiring still
The very touch of you, my darling, it gives me such a thrill

Heart of the family when special moments are shared
Offering a warm welcome after a hectic day at work
Meaning a blissful haven to find peace and comfort
Enjoying each moment of your life with happiness

Smiling when you remember an anecdote from relatives
While you are celebrating festivities with your family
Entertaining with the late night movies and shows
Elating by hours with fun and great amusement
Transporting your mind to the days when you were a kid

Hearthy food is prepared in the kitchen with a touch of love
Obtaining the satisfaction that your dear ones are well attended
Molding a bond so strong that persists for a lifetime
Enshrining for the next generations through the years
