I recently read the following quote which prompted this write...
"DON'T STAND TOO CLOSE TO THE HEATER, BABE. PLASTIC MELTS,"
                                                  attributed to one named, Chelsea

He often spoke of love and sweet romance
words that easily dripped from his tongue
but she caught on to his lies and deceit
and he was the one who had been stung
for when she pressed for something more
his plastic disguise melted in the heat.
He was exposed from the mask he wore.

Disguised

Summer's wearing a disguise
Which sunshine lovers do despise
For, though we welcome it today,
The raindrops seem prepared to stay.

According to the news reports,
It's also way too cool for shorts
And jacket wearers get a boon
'Cause they've been needed all through June.

Though muggy weather's not for me
And it's been great without A/C,
Since summer season's now begun,
Ditch that disguise and show some sun!

Disguised

Disguised,
some memories disguised
in sad appearance.
A fading love
can never really fade,
and between hope
and silent danger,
will always be a hidden place
under a tree which offers
calm and shade.

Premium Member Disguised As the Truth

Entangled in reality;
you're trapped in depression's web.
And sometimes, you feel overwhelmed
as your emotions flow and ebb.

Buried within myths and clichés;
the secret of happiness lies.
And the tides of hope rise each day,
only to fall within your eyes.

Time choreographs the setting;
and a bleeding sun dies for you.
And blind-sided by your beauty;
it's easy to believe it's true.

Frustration and disappointment
reduce fantasies to a tease.
And your heart seeks sanctuary;
from a lifetime filled with unease.

Wasted years and corrosive tears
levy an extravagant toll.
But you pursue undying love;
searching every heart for a soul.

You are leery of all the lies
doggedly disguised as the truth.
And yet, like a breeze rustling leaves,
desire stirs the passions of youth.

Disguised Angel (I'M In Love)

My lady you must have been sent from above
Immediately we clicked
You fit me like a glove
I don't know what it is
But you better not give me a kiss
Or it could lead to something bigger
Probably you having kids
Figures...
My sensitivity button triggers
I didn't think it was possible
My hormones appear to be unstoppable
I see you in my dreams
Smile bright your white teeth gleams
Hair kept nice
No trace or flakes
Or lice
No disrespect but I admire your body
So many doors to go through
Like Trump Tower's lobby
Will I enter the right one
Probably
You are the very best
To have you I am very blessed
If you leave the feelings may be worse
The sins I have pledged
Mark of the beast
I'm cursed
I see you as a disguised angel
The number one territory
I'm here to claim you
A metaphor for my feeling
My right leg is sore from the one-knee kneelings
If I cry my eyes are the oranges can you see the peelings
Goodness that walk, so full of grace
No girl can take your place
At putting a smile on my face
The only girl to share the food on my plate
Walk hand-in-hand through Heaven's gate
My Angel is what I call you
Animorph like a cow how I go moo
You are no ghost so I won't say boo
I love you and I know you love me too
Doesn't it remind you of that song from Barney
Your love has a fire don't pull the alarm on me
Like a knot of bodies we can never untangle
My solid spirit
My baby
My Angel

Pen Disguised As a Hair Clip

Sat to jot down limerick in log book
Inept to find my pen carried miffed look
Probed my mum who lay on bed
She guffawed and slapped my head
The clutched one tumbled from hair as I shook

Devil Disguised As Cancer

You try to lead a auspicious life,
Trying your best to mirror Christ,
Well done my faithful servant is the remark you want for your fight,
Church is your Paradise,
Everyone thinks you are swell,
You have the faith of a mustard seed like Jonah inside of the whale,
Suddenly out the blue rapid pains invade your body,
Oh Lord I trust in you,
My faith will never disembody,
Until one day you give in to pain and frantically need a answer,
The doctor sheds a tear,
I'm sorry but you have cancer,
Stage 4,
Now you are in your last days ,
This is not a phase,
Your days are blue even in the mist of sun rays..
Your family is in a rage over this information,
Hopeless despair engaged like a Jew in concentration,
Separated from humanity equals abrupt insanity,
Cancer can be depressing,
Chemo is very stressing,
Fatigue forbids you from assessing your blessings,
I know its very difficult ,
Just hold on and continue to pray,
Because at the end of the day,
God has the last say...

Disguised Blessing

. Broken
                                  hearted lover
                             dreaming of her again.
                           He refuses his future now.
Without her he feels time refuses him.
                        Breathless in pain’s radiation,
                           He could not now fathom,
                            heart was blessed ...not
                                      Broken.

Through faith, hope, and love, we will find true meaning.
Whether it's slavery, the holocaust, or ethic cleaning;
Whether by captivity, by extermination, or by lynching;
Atrocities have haunted mankind since our earliest beginning.

Many may contend that Jim Crow died and is being resurrected, on the rise.
Perhaps the question remains whether or not, like Satan, he went in disguise.
Is it not evermore true that if mankind fails to learn from history,
is it not equally true that we are condemned to repeat it?

Resurrection applies only to something which has died.
Anything less than fatal blows will allow hatred to survive.
The fact that Jim lives doesn't mean that many have not tried.
That is, tried to put him to death; rid him forever from society.

In most localities, he is dead, but only in the realms of legality.
By habit and acceptable societal behaviors, he continues to live.
Yes, there are far fewer acts of inhuman lynching like Emmitt Till.
In many hearts, Jim Crow's presence and deadly stench are not killed.

Busing, public integration, and housing policy did not really kill him.
The light bulbs have been changed, but the new ones are rather dim.
There are entities like animals that hibernate until a new season.
Like the devil in disguise in Eden, he lurks until there is a reason.

Jim is like a lifeless idol empowered by the hate and bigotry of mortals.
Or like a 'Scare Crow' in a garden to keep unwanted fowls from morsels.
Jim Crow is empowered by lies and ignorance; and he thrives on false narratives. Regardless of color, continent, country, or culture, we must fight against Jim Crow with our lives.

Disguised

Disguised

chameleon skin

If my sea weed is greener,

the coast is clear for your sheep's.

      Your lions faces are meaner,

         than my innocence of friendship.

Rebellion being

       Destroy my child's placenta.

As you wish,if it makes you lighter.

In all, homeless are you in "mans" agenda.

At the abyss of the "cordis",am left none but happier.

Premium Member Angels Disguised As Strangers

This poem is dedicated to my therapists
Ryan, Russell, Ken and Rafael.
This is a true story.

Where did it all go wrong,
A simple fall led me to my,
Body becoming alien to me.
My brain is not listening,
It's like I have disappeared altogether.
My mouth gives no words,
Only a language that no one understands,
Only pity is all they know.
I have thoughts and feelings,
But they lie dormant,
Just like my body.
I can't move only by the hands of strangers
Who talk and I just listen.
Months go by and I feel,
My muscles talking to me.
I begin moving,
My brain is awake.
The tears fall and these strangers hold me,
As I realize they are no longer,
Strangers but my angels.

Disguised

You're so full of kindness;
         an inspiration to us all.
A fallacy of encouragement;
         your empire soon to fall.

Unconditional commitment,
is what you claim to hold.
Shoddy defamation of character,
         will finally come unfold.

You may have deluded them,
but I'm keen to your charm.
Your satirical hidden agenda,
         no room for false alarms.

Trying to manipulate a master,
         was a humiliating attempt.
Seeing my kindness as weakness,
         has created this contempt.

Empathy I feel for you;
         for ignorance is truly bliss.
Hoping deceit would damage me;
         a densely expected remiss.

Take off that mask; show yourself.
         So everyone can honestly see.
The evil disguised behind the words,
allow the truth to set you free.

Disguised

Nonsense in a family of lies
Rushed to know of why tears are cried
Where there is joy, Envious are their eyes
Support in words of trying times
Yet unavailable when life begins to beat
Curious to know of things that make you weak
Behind closed doors, phone rings of sneak
Stories told of which they peek
A changing story as each begin to speak
Never honoring triumph
In those envious eyes
Called family in which they are "disguised!"

Dracula is alive
Disguised as another
Darkness swirls around us
Danger may be lurking
Do not get distracted
Dare to get acquainted
Death by a nibbled neck
