Notes About The Poem

Disguised

I recently read the following quote which prompted this write... "DON'T STAND TOO CLOSE TO THE HEATER, BABE. PLASTIC MELTS," attributed to one named, Chelsea He often spoke of love and sweet romance words that easily dripped from his tongue but she caught on to his lies and deceit and he was the one who had been stung for when she pressed for something more his plastic disguise melted in the heat. He was exposed from the mask he wore.

oh Lin the quote and pic are perfect, I know many who wear masks and sadly people cannot see through the deception. my 'mask' is to use humour and I write poems to make people laugh and at the end of the day no one but us knows what is really going on in anyone's life except our own but I don't try and make out I am something I aint!:-) hugs jan xx

LOL Lin it's not a word I'd use in speech but it seemed suitable in this context :-) hugs Jan xx

I usually cringe when I see the word, 'ain't,' but from you it's funny. Your humor is not a mask, Jan. It's 100% who you are. Thanks for taking a look at the twins.

I think we all wear masks, metaphorically speaking. I have known a few women who fit your poetic description, Lin. Nicely penned:)

I thank you for the visit, but I must disagree. I don't wear one and I know many others who feel that hiding behind a mask is an act of cowardice. If a person is truthful there's no need to hide behind a mask, metaphorical or not.
