~ What Papa Taught Me ~

    Save, don't spend
      The good times will end

    Extravagance, for fools
      Frugality rules

    A penny saved
      A penny earned

    A dollar wasted
      Independence spurned...

    Inflation, deflation
      Whatever the situation

    Cash is King
      Credit ~ bling

Sales - Day After Christmas Contest

Awoke with a feeling of deflation
The razzamatazz is over pressie’s given
Then a thought arouses me with a smile
Whilst the men watch the sport on this boxing day
A few cans in reach
We females can hit the sales with parking queues for a mile

Like a rugby match the people snatch and run
So much on offer, it’s all in the fun
You don’t try it you buy it cos it’s less than half price
A bargain is a bargain , wouldn’t usually look twice

You go home laden with things you know you’ll return
Was a bargain yet not quite what you yearn
Wearily you slip off your shoes with a big yawn
Food’s in the kitchen, help yourself, this maid is tooo worn

Been a wonderful day, so different from Christmas
Yet they both need each other to emphasise the past

                  One Year Later

There is a strength in compassion,
a courage in the compassionate,
not a faint desire to be of service
but a triggered response.

There is a power in sadness,
not in the tears or deflation
but in the determination to
persevere, to rise again.

There is a force in unity,
the inexplicable rumbling
of hearts, beating in response
to the hearts of others.

There is a passion in oneness,
in focus, in belief, determination,
a love shared, nurtured, shielded,
cherished, and necessary.

Premium Member Revelation Or Implantation

Like the speed of light a revelation
came; knowledge entered portals of the brain
Then the thoughts disappeared what deflation
A seed planted with light wisdom a gain

Darkness a seed of Satan's devices
Slipped into the brain's portals quietly
When darkness floats in, sits, all pay the price
The body, soul, and spirit dies nightly

An implantation of evil that grows
A darkness that spreads with thick evil wings
The web spreading out 'til emotions enclose
Blackness covers the brain, heart, feelings

At the speed of light, wisdom opens doors
Darkness settles into a being's stores

Premium Member Elation To Deflation

As I worked out at the gym one night
My eyes were captured in sight
By a beauty so young
With a curvy pert bum
She winked, was that the green light

Over the weeks we chatted and dated
My breasts she says, are so underrated
I said what can I do
To enhance them for you
And make you feel so elated

Oh honey, would you do that for me
When I undress you'll like what you see
They'll be so inflated
And I'll be glad that I dated
From flat chested I'll be so busty

So of to the plastic surgeon she went
Saying my money has been really well spent
I'll call you later my dear
At the gym don't you fear
In your mind you'll be full of torment

I waited and the call never came
Middle aged I'm just not in the game
I've been so well done
By a curvy pert bum
My bank balance will never be the same

Anti-Ode To Rain

The big 'R', do you actually know what you're doing
To our week nation,
Absolute panic stations, feckin banter deflation, endless duration
Eternal damnation the foundation, our country's creation.
No shortage of hydration in any location,
Sure isn't Patsy livid, the crops are bad, explicit gyrations.
Sure no wonder there's emigration by the dozen every week,
Has given or society an ugly mutation,
Gets lubrication each day thanks to you.
There's a sad wet dog in the station
Contemplating rotation.
You rain on our frustration, wash our sins for we have
Offended out of hatred and vexation,
All we're looking for is some compensation.
Rosary beads in homes nationwide and Bridie is saying the rosary
For a chance of salvation, god love her she's my relation.
The forecast gives us the temptation to believe,
Subtle touch of authority has us buying flip-flops, frustration.
We have brain cells you know, we give into temptation,
Because in this situation we can find our own destination.
Just sayin aviation is our saving grace from drowning captivation,
And there's as much chance getting compensation
from you as we are from a cheap flight cancellation.
Rain we've had enough, because we're ready to make a revelation
And through your bitter tears you'll hear our declaration.
We're out for palpitation then leave you to your desperation,
Because as a population, it's our dedication, inspiration and vegetation
That are emanating through your drops of dislocation.

Mad Scientist of Poetry

It's hard to breathe-poor respiration
Stomach hurt due to a combination
Of starvation and constipation
I feel like bad inflation
I need deflation
Get me a doctor to perform the operation
To make it in this world its mad desperation
I refuse to make adaptation to nonsense and instigation
I'm so sweaty more wet than condensation
Precipitation
Evaporation
Body so glossy it's like anatomy lamination
So I dry off like fabrication
I wish I was make-believe like animation
My own choice my own obligation
First start with an observation
Then evaluation
A problem in the atmoshere? Bad radiation
In 360 circulation
Earth's manipulation
Creates a bad situation
For the population
To feel a bad sensation
Like planet domination
Due to poor human reputation
The ultimate retaliation
Is Revelation
...As the #1 selection
Regardless of complexion
Object of every girl's affection
Lookin for the best connection
As a correction
From going in the wrong to right direction
It's like an infection
I want success so bad I get an ********...
In addition
To my subscription
To a perscription
To my addiction
Of the worst possible condition
Avoid the infliction
And affliction
Of pain of a titanic description
So I jail my anger with no jurisdiction
But I still face conviction
For kickin the automobile of anarchy into ignition
Can it lead me to a contradiction
Or a mental restriction
While I sleep I have recognition
I'm not the disease but the cure or is that a premonition
Or Gods intuition...
This is literal
Critical
And pitiful...
Beware we are almost at the completion
Of Earth's depletion
It's no secretion...
Could it be distinction
Or extinction...
From gov't corruption
To volcanic eruption
We are the production
Too late for interruption...
Any confession
Any suggestion
If you want to end the world here's the succession...
In conclusion
This is purely retribution
For distribution
Of pollution
No illusion
No confusion
No dillusion
Just an intrusion
Erase the constitution...
There's no prevention
Of the redemption...

Premium Member Upon My First Rereading

I've written things that were good,
and I've written things that were bad.
I've written things that I first thought were good,
but upon my first rereading were already starting to lose their luster.

I'll give it a while, and then come back and check on it,
because a little time can give a better perspective.
On that second time back through it,
the balloon is showing signs of severe deflation,
and I press my lips together in irritation,
like evidence of bad behavior is starting to show.

Often, there is a good reason for a trend to exist,
and sure enough, the following time I'm questioning
myself about why I even wrote the stupid thing,
and I crumple it up into a ball and throw it in the trash can,
but not before I take the little balled-up paper
and crush it between the desk and my balled-up fist
a few times, just because.

I had to do it, though, I had to write it.
I think back through my life about many things I've done.
Did I really have a choice?

Stock Market Stroke

Thronged investors at the allotment bazaar
Large cap bearish
Scripts at fall.
Awaited ingenious and expertise capitalists
Then brought into
Scripts at down.
Mid Cap bullish
Scripts at rise
Wavered SENSEX
And small cap ingress
Gives the once over like a cliffhanger rise.

Beginners rapacity and analysts variegations
Former’s paucity and latter’s accrued funds.

Pulled blue chips
Superior position
And more towering price
Then again a new firm
Offering a bid price.

Broker’s commission and depositories dematerialization
Varied revenue
Over investors capitalization.

Inflation hikes and deflation brought down
Again a widespread decline in the GDP
Brought the whole market to pull down.
Analyst’s accrued funds and NIFTY’s superbia
Top thirties jackpots and investors allocations,
Sharply jerked down.
Brainsick market
And a quidity beer bar,
A full-time financial express
And the morning tea NDTV regular.

Beginners’ luck to fill the pot
And a period later
The crow sated the piggy bank pot.

Stranded In the Rain of Routine

tears roll down your cheeks like pyramids of deflation
i never know how to fix it, so i choose to listen
what i discover are emotions that are oftentimes stranded in the rain of routine
we need to get the blood of our origin flowing again
knowing this, i reintroduce myself as that shy guy you met and fell in love with years ago
you, in return, let your hair down and put that same flower in your hair....on the left side
you then reintroduce yourself and we begin to playfully flirt and reveal new things about ourselves
it is somewhere in the heart of all the rediscovery that we begin to know each other again
the rain of routine stops when the TV is turned off and our ears are retuned in order to naturally and genuinely listen
our hearts begin to skip beats like jovial pebbles thrown from an inquisitive kid's hand
we renew and revitalize the love so tainted by the acidic stain of dissipation
laughter permeates the room in our minds like skyscrapers of inflation

Take Me

Be still, oh, my heart when perplex by vexation.
Joy can grow scarce when the soul endures deflation.
Do not let my ways instigate aggravation.
Let not people walk locked in great indignation.

When the world around me seems lost in gyrations,
Let not my days pass with scriptural starvation.
Help me recognize and evade grave temptation.
Let me rise above sin’s eternal damnation.

Your love has walked with man since Adam’s formation.
Sometimes my soul cries for heaven sent elation.
Teach me to worship with righteous adoration.
Take me to your valley of peaceful salvation.

Premium Member Straight White Privileged Silence

Listen to sterile silence
nursing homebound fans
wavering white noiselessness
of silent futile passing

Absence of passion
hope
care
happiness
or creased
and reasoned
nearing deceased sadness.

Hear this void of madness,
lack of hunger
or parched thirst
for conversation
splendid nutrition
scandalous emission
empowering immigration
enlightened emigration
or angry fear emanation
of forced solitude migration

Into mortal loss
of sensory reception
political deception
economic perception
theistic inception
septic conception.

Smell nothing.

Taste everything
becomes dust
delustered rust
lust for transcendent
disembodied consummation
omnipresent transportation
omniscient evaporation
full latitude
for fragrance-free
plastic platitudes
feckless attitudes
disdainful blows
against further fertile emanations.

Sing where nothing
settles into rounding octave rings
to never
ever want to dance
in robust spirals
forming springs

Against depressions
felt repressions
thought impressions
known suppressions
unheard deflation
worn through integration
transcultural conflation

Of pantheistic elegant circling Zeroes
absorbed by a monstrous
monopolistic silent
slick supreme One

Listening to sterile silence
nursing homebound fans,
white emptiness
of silent
restless passing.

Glare at isolation.

Rake loneliness in.

Sleep with solitude
if you dare
to care
and share
yet without an inch
or squeezed moment
to spare.

Economic Sea

Amidst the world of commerce and trade
Lies the foundation of our daily brigade
Economy, the heart of our monetary system
A complex structure that we can't help but listen

It's a web of transactions and values
Where supply and demand leads to venues
Where products are sold and services are bought
And every penny counts, or else it's for naught

The stock markets rise and fall like tides
And investors fear a recession that hides
Inflation and deflation are two sides of the coin
That can make or break a nation's join

The GDP is a measure of growth
But at times, it only reflects a mirage both
Unemployment rates can hit the roof
And bring the entire economy down with a woof

As we delve deeper into this world of money
We realize it's a system that's not funny
For it affects every aspect of our lives
From the way we eat to the roof over our heads and our drives

So let us learn to navigate this economic sea
And try to build a world that's free
From the shackles of poverty and strife
And where prosperity is a part of life.

The Racing Certainty

collects his benefits from hole in the wall

Luck is on his side, that's his school of thought

His mate has given him a hot tip, good man Paul

the stable lad, he's in the know well he ought

Because he said put your shirt on this one

A racing certainty, can't lose, a walk over,

He enters the bookies, nothing can go wrong,

Writes his betting slip, looking over his shoulder,

Planning to double his money, odds not too long,

Five minutes to the start, he counts his returns

In his head, stalls are being loaded, starter ready

Flag drops stalls open, there off, his stomach churns,

hustling and bumping for position, he feels unsteady,

He's watching the race but his mind begins to wonder

Starts thinking what treats to buy for his three kids

A lovely bouquet of flowers for his devoted woman

Get a take away, perhaps a Chinese sticky spare ribs

Things will be great when this racing certainty comes in

Then shouts from other punters, roaring get in my son

Then came the realisation, devastation, deflation,

No such thing as a racing certainty, all his money gone.
