Take Me

Be still, oh, my heart when perplex by vexation. Joy can grow scarce when the soul endures deflation. Do not let my ways instigate aggravation. Let not people walk locked in great indignation. When the world around me seems lost in gyrations, Let not my days pass with scriptural starvation. Help me recognize and evade grave temptation. Let me rise above sin’s eternal damnation. Your love has walked with man since Adam’s formation. Sometimes my soul cries for heaven sent elation. Teach me to worship with righteous adoration. Take me to your valley of peaceful salvation. 1/15/2017 Written for the 12 x 12 Monorhyme contest.
