Premium Member Rusted Memories Decaying
Ravaged and forgotten, I await my fate in this junkyard,
Under the fierce sun and pouring rain and snow . . . but,
Still within this rusted frame beats a soul and memories, and
There was a time when I was truly loved-
Every person admired my style and...

Premium Member Decaying Headstone

Mossy vines camouflage decaying headstone
Thus hidden and fallen into disrepair
Foliage ever swallow so it cowers
Deeply weatherworn lettering embraced there

Threads of piercing light filtering through windblown
Limbs surrounded by trees, ferns, and wildflowers
Strewn mounds of decomposed fallen trees below
Cool nature's spirit aspirating showers

Premium Member A Decaying House
In my youth, I found a decaying house,
and ignored the whispers; it was haunted.
Its rotten porch and roof were in shambles,
but lots of fun things were left unwanted.

Every kid knows, nothing's more alluring
than an old building with an unlocked door.
I couldn't wait to bust out...

Premium Member Abandoned Decaying House
I walk into the abandoned decaying house I was born; thought about knocking, then laughed realizing no one would be in. For so long I wondered what it looked like. I couldn't leave until I did.

     At that moment...

Some even must decay
I am still missing you

Decaying Undead
Cough, blood everywhere, sneeze
Rotten flesh, wracked in disease
Brainless, basic instinct to eat
Cannibal, horror that they greet
Wanderer, on the road to no where
Dead eyes, unintelligent stare

Groan, the cry of death
Violence, like a junkie on meth
Shuffle, lack of balance
Virus, for the living zero tolerance
Decay, everyone will die
Apocalypse,...

I'm awake, but where
A decaying grey surround
I'm floating, I drift
My soul, swallowed by the breeze
What of me now, diminishes

Decaying Greens of Autumn Leaves
I ventured by forests
And saw many trees;
Nourished and flawless, the nearest all seemed;
Also, mystified and green…

But as it came, a swift breeze,
Some trees began to wither
From a promised seasonal disease…

As it came through, the invisible & deadly zephyr,
Autumn leaves began to fall and appear;
Vanishing was...

Decaying Crimson
Decaying crimson overpowers my words and thoughts
Shy and scared
Silently sitting in the dark
Your overwhelming blue terrifies me most

Premium Member Decaying Stairs
I can sense the stairway
It goes on and on upwards
The stairs are decaying
Beyond, continue onwards

I don’t know where they go
As they stop before the top
They bring an eerie feel
Rustic looking as they stop

There is moss that grows here
Giving a feel of great awe
I would sure...

A Decaying House
I stopped in front of a decaying house
That takes up some space on a busy road
I stepped up on the porch - it's not my house
It was not my house - never my abode

Those are ferns in the garden doing well
I would have planted those...

Decay, decays?
        Never, this oak lives forever!
Bit by beetle bugs that on me did graze.
        Birds my bark did sever.

Premium Member Completely With Myself
When I am completely with myself, immersed in my reflections,
All the day's works are done - mundane and monotonous,
From far away in the past, an endearing picture emerges to me,
Surreal, yet distinctly visible!

A house which was left abruptly with no warning,
A porch where...
