The flames in the woodstove dance
Bringing warmth to a cold, rainy day
Mountain weather is up and down this May
Flowers are blooming in sunny days of chance
To show off their colors and bring hope
Smiles, freedom and laughter in sight
Birds all around are taking flight
Nature brings relief and scenery to cope

How will I cope?
All I have is in my blood, though
It leaks now, and drains through
The Lord Whose mercy,
In Him, I have faith alone, as solid as stone.
A father figure, worth his guarantee,
His name, Amaro, (like tomorrow), here you see,
a Latin name which means a bitter tree.
His name, Amaro, spurned with faith as master key;
when duty called, he, Gramps, was nominee.
His name, Amaro, he would harbor family.
His son had died by accident, a cop,
three tiny tots were blessed to live by neighbor Pops.
When Mommy left, wound tighter than a top,
three youngsters found their rest and did not drop.
Pops took them on and raised them in his shop;
three teenage boys who loved him best, love would not stop.
They’d learned his trade with expertise, he knew.
In auto skills, he’d taught them well. He’d trained his crew
to understand when customers are few
in people skills, we need to take an open view.
He soon found out when bills are overdue
in business skills, the three could teach him something new.
You’ve read right here, of how to climb the ropes,
Amaro understood. His faith has raised my scope;
he made mistakes, I never heard him mope.
Amaro saw that raising boys takes more than hope.
Three lively guys who pushed his envelope,
Amaro understood, a pop who learned to cope.

for Richard Lamoureux, Bring My Character to Life Contest.
The light of Day and the darkness of night are like Metaphors
For the light in our lives, but also the darkness where upset occurs
Glimpses of light are like hope through life's struggle
Just like that little light at the end of the dark tunnel
When pain is dragging you down into the darkness
Those capsules of light awaken you from inertness
They warm our hearts reiginighting our inner spark
When the light conkers the night and drives out the dark,
Its those tenderhearted times that stop us from falling apart.
The glistening stars are balls of light that fight against the night,
Like knights of the light there armour shimmers, glimmers bright
Freckles puncturing the abyss despite the blanket of the darkest eclipse,
The light of the moon pushing through it cannot be missed or simply dismissed.
The moon is like a big bright balloon surrounded by stars of all shapes and sizes
soon on the horizon the sun will burn through the darkness
as it slowly rises,
Dispersing the darkness of the night, just like the darkness that plagues your life,
The sun will rise with the brightest light, and everything will eventually be all right
Light will always shine through even on the darkest night you'll see a star or two,
No matter the pain or suffering you're experiencing look for those glimmers of hope, that's the light shimmering,
That's what will pull you through the darkest times those little glimmers of light
Some are big bold and brass others mere twinkle shooting past in the dead of night,
Finding the light in life will bring hope that even in those darkest of times
You will see, It's going to be all right
Hope is about tomorrow and the dreams we imagine.
Cope is about sorrow and the means we manage.
Can I learn to cope when they say no hope
Will I put up a fight when things are not right
I'll learn to cope there is always hope
Everyday in a prayer I thank God I am here
This cancer brings strife but I had a good life
A disease of the body cannot blame anybody
It attacks on its own leaves no one alone
A battle I will fight my friend till the very end
And I wont feel alone I am going home
Where loved ones wait inside heavens gate
Carolann Crowley P.S I have been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer where
the treatment would be unspeakable with no guarantees of a cure so I have
decided against any intervention

Having a Hope gives you comfort and
courage to cope when illness like
Cancer appears, the love of a dear
friend is always near.
A friend will help you to
cope with the emotional strain,
sharing your pain with you
as the treatment you have
and go through.
Just remember you are strong
and crying tears is nothing
to be ashamed of or wrong,
you are allowed to express
sorrow and tears as this
helps release your
inner fears.
Throw all your anxiety upon a dear friend whom
you can confide and trust
and always depend.
Letting your emotions
and feelings out is simply
a must.
Take One Day at a time,
do not worry or fret try
and forget about tomorrow as it has not
arrived yet, so focus on today
and may you get through
this with the unending and
loyal support of those who
love and care for you.
My Dear Friend I am
Here for you, thinking of you
and praying for you
Best Wishes
Always remember this;
A vital part of cancer treatment is the loving
support given patients by family and friends
Deceit injects hurt with its sting,
piercing a heart struggling to cope.
And reality starts to slip,
adrift with no anchor of Hope.
As trust wanes, lies proliferate:
snagged on the edge of deceit.
And innocence gets compromised;
for a sense of feeling complete.
It is hard to face betrayal:
summoning all your strength of will.
For love's illusion gets exposed;
purging dreams that may linger still.
Fueled by fear, doubts resurface,
threatening to destroy your heart.
And emotions intensify;
as memories tear you apart.
There's no shortcut past heartaches,
no magic spell, or quick undo.
And you drown in a sea of tears:
thinking love has abandoned you.
Yet love has never left your heart:
like a sponge, it absorbs your tears.
And Hope offers you a fresh start,
free of past frustrations and fears.

Can't take no more
I just can't cope anymore,
The pain is debilitating,
The addiction consuming,
Both exhausting.
The dark corners of my mind are closing in, there all I can see clearly,
The demonic whispers fill my ears loudly,
I feel the reaper staring at me, his watchful glare burning,
I wonder what he foresees,
He watches waiting for me from his lair,
He desires my delicious death,
He thinks I'm unaware,
Part of Me wishes to Grant his wilful wants,
Maybe freedom lies in giving him the correct response,
No one could care less they don't understand it's relentless,
Another flare up here we go again,
As i lay lame they have the audacity to complain,
Need more morphine why can't she just abstain,
They spit with such destruction and distain,
And they wonder why my mind is so full of Darkness rain and thunder,
Dying doesn't scare me anymore,
But being alive without living, I can't do it I desire more,
It's something I cannot continue to go on and ignore,
This fear terrifies me so much more than knocking on death's door,
Death seems a sweet sound of serenity a sound I pray for,
Just to feel free from this pain that I cannot continue to endure,
Pretend pity and false worry anger and aggravate me,
The insincere statements hide their sly sinister lies they decree,
They whisper behind my back without knowledge or understanding,
Explanations seem to land on deaf ears confounding,
Am I a damned being left to simply exist on this plane in pain,
How am I to fight for my life without a cure to gain,
Please I beg I pray save me from being the Walking Dead,
Help me raise from this pit this coffin I'm left two lie in rotting away in my betraying bed.
Cope
Bragging to my friends,
About the night of our brawl
Waiting for hours,
And he doesn't even call.
Looking out of the window
Watching the leaves fall,
Unable to take the absence
Of the person I called.
I walked down the hall
Into the same protocol,
As I discover my way out.
I hurt myself without a doubt
And after I'm noticed,
The person I loved,
Doesn’t even ask
What happen to her?
So now I'm gone
And he doesn't even mind,
What kind of life did I have to find.
Now he's at his wedding making a toast
And I'm no where to be found,
With nothing, not even a boast.
The Virus of 2020
It was a month ago when the virus
Came to call – the coronavirus
Slipped in on us with arm out to grab
Hold of our lungs and not be for us
The month ahead was for games and cheers
We never thought of deaths on doorsteps
Our sports cancelled – the very idea;
Lives disrupted and plans were unkept
For each friend wherever you may be
Far beyond our miles our doors our years
I gently prod your heartstrings to send
Thoughts of comfort to overshadow fear
Our hearts heavy with weight of unknown
New rules to follow to keep us fit
Through social distancing may we find
That apart we were really close-knit
Keep in mind all we need to help cope
Stay home build new memories
Practice good hygiene and use lots of soap
Get to know your wonderful family
Far beyond the recesses of our hearts
Our Heavenly Father knows and sees
Our dismay and confusion jumbled-
Longing for comfort and clarity
“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble”**
Pray for one another offering hope
As through this plague we struggle
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me
And delivered me from all my fears”*
So, my friends, give much care to yourself
Rest during this time and keep God near

I cry EVERY TIME I come here, But I just cant stay away
Cus I know you ladies are all feelin..... what I'm feelin.... EVERYDAY!
I read your posts and cry, my heart breaks for all of you
As we share the deepest sorrow, that we wish we never knew
I don't know why we're destined, to share this awful fate
wanting our loved ones back ,but NO we have to wait
I'm NOT suicidal ....although it briefly crossed my mind
as you all KNOW the "maddness" of being left behind
We wonder if they are happy....We wonder if their "ok"
We wonder if we had a chance....what exactly would we say?
We wonder if we could of saved them....IF we only knew
We wonder if they can feel the hole, left in our hearts...... X2
We cry for a minute EVERYDAY (sometimes a lil' more)
Holding dear the memories of happier times before
Before that awful moment, A parents worst nightmare comes true
And changed our lives FOREVER....Thats what I share with all of you!
I know im not alone struggling with faith and hope
It's not like theres an option...THE ONLY PATH IS COPE!
Just really wanted to let y'all know, the energy here is ...so real ..so deep!
Also , "Thank-You" for the lifelong friends.... AND ones I've yet to meet!

Your sitting all alone waiting for your heart to
break.
Through trials and tribulations one seeks the power of
the most high cause one doesn't know how much more
one can take.
Alone in a dark hole,
disclosing all of your unforgetable woes.
Asking the question, Is this the life i chose? who knows.
For as the the outline of water, falls down off your
face,
You feel the core of empty space that hit's you hard and
raw in that loving place.
Pain,
Strain,
and no emotional gain play's at it's own
symbolic beat
Pressures of hidden treasures measures the timeline
in victory of it's own defeat
Turning pages of different rages only compounds into
disfunctional stages.
Seeing the shadows off reflection in the mirror looking
for hope,
Not wanting to see the true face,
When your trying to cope.

How do you cope with today?
You can't ignore it -
It won't go away.
The kids all laugh and say,
"It's easy!"
But that's not true,
It's not easy-peasy.
When I was young,
Did I say the same?
Is that what I told the oldies
And played the game?
Maybe I did play it the same.
The day comes and the day goes,
And I have gotten oh so slow.
Kids just say, "Come along gramps, move it along!"
I think you just carry on.
'Cos how do you cope with today?
It just won't go away!
