The Virus of 2020

The Virus of 2020 It was a month ago when the virus Came to call – the coronavirus Slipped in on us with arm out to grab Hold of our lungs and not be for us The month ahead was for games and cheers We never thought of deaths on doorsteps Our sports cancelled – the very idea; Lives disrupted and plans were unkept For each friend wherever you may be Far beyond our miles our doors our years I gently prod your heartstrings to send Thoughts of comfort to overshadow fear Our hearts heavy with weight of unknown New rules to follow to keep us fit Through social distancing may we find That apart we were really close-knit Keep in mind all we need to help cope Stay home build new memories Practice good hygiene and use lots of soap Get to know your wonderful family Far beyond the recesses of our hearts Our Heavenly Father knows and sees Our dismay and confusion jumbled- Longing for comfort and clarity “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble”** Pray for one another offering hope As through this plague we struggle “I sought the Lord, and he answered me And delivered me from all my fears”* So, my friends, give much care to yourself Rest during this time and keep God near - Evelyn Pearl Anderson *Psalm 34:4 **Psalm 1:2

"Stay home and build memories". We will never forget the virus of 2020, Evelyn. There is so much good we can learn at this time. If we truly love others, stay safe at home, and appreciate the time we have with those we love. Amen

Evelyn. You are so right. God has His reasons. Maybe this is so we will appreciate our neighbors more when we are let out of captivity.

Surely we learn something about ourselves and our neighbors during this time and practice a little kindness. Thank you for commenting.
