Premium Member Write Me

Put down your remote
     pick up your pen
     write me

Make me current
as I could only be written
     in this very moment
     (but make me timeless)

Assign words to
     smells, sounds, tastes, sights
     that only you sense
     (but make me universal)

Recall every poet
     (but be yourself)

Recollect every writing rule
(so you will know when and how to break them)

Make me enigmatic enough
that I can’t be comprehended on the first pass
(but intriguing enough to want seconds)

       Season me with swagger
         to inspire the timid
       Saturate me with hope
         to comfort the downhearted
       Imbue me with faith
          to inspire the seeking
       Permeate me with love
         to bless the lonely

Don't sweat it if others do it better than you
    (they don't know your heart)

Put down your laptop
     your briefcase
     your phone
     pick up your pen
     and write me

     (I am your story)

Kids Were Playing

Kids were playing outside, in the playground.
Swing, slide, sandbox and Mary-go-round.

One was sitting inside, with bottle in one hand.
Thought of things that will never be comprehended.
Paper notes on the table, sketches of ideas.
Scrambled, messy, illogical, the Arcadia.
Revolver in the other hand, with bullets that wisely shine.
Shot was fired, point blank range, never miss.

Kids were still playing outside, in the playground.
Played, played, played, as death never be found.

Premium Member A Helen Keller Kyrielle - Hk

When Helen Keller was a child,
both deaf and blind, she acted wild
until her heart was helped to melt.
Seen or not, beauty must be felt.

Sweet sights and sounds she knew not of.
She barely comprehended love.
In youth, a bad hand she’d been dealt.
Seen or not, beauty must be felt.

A favored doll, dear Helen clutched,
yet things were nameless that she touched.
Words on her hand a teacher spelt.
Seen or not, beauty must be felt.

One day the young girl’s whole world turned.
Her heart perceived the words she’d learned.
With joy thereafter Helen dwelt.
Seen or not, beauty must be felt.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Life Is

Life is a long walk,
The path meanders,
The path undulates.

Life is a sequence of doors,
They open of their own accord,
Until the final closure.

Life is a book,
Ancient and voluminous,
No one has read to its end.

Life is a hill,
Our purpose makes us climb,
Our ambition pushes us further.

Life is a battlefield,
We don’t fight with guns and knives,
Our weapons are our will and determination.

Life is a mystery,
Some things can’t be comprehended,
The deeper we search the
 more intricate they become.

Life is a race,
We run at different speeds,
Some fall out in the race.

Life is a train,
We embark and disembark,
At our various stations.

Life is a tussle,
The evil against the good,
The unseen against the seen.

Life is a timeline,
It can’t be trapped,
It flows like a stream.

Premium Member The Ballad of Daphne and Jack, the Sequel

Gather 'round me, my dears,
I'll continue the tale
Of a princess and her pirate lover.
Of her crown unencumbered,
They pillaged and plundered
As they wandered the seven seas over.

Crimes maritime were elating
And invigorating
'til Jack noticed a bulge in her tummy.
The princess first was offended,
But then she comprehended
He would soon be a dad, she a mommy.

Two months later, one morn,
Daphne's baby was born,
She said, "Time to rethink our position.
If we stay here, our child
Will grow wicked and wild,
We must provide better, milder conditions."

Jack's crew were confused
When he told them the news,
All they knew how to do was be pirates.
None of them had a dime,
And all too far past their prime
To go home and move in with their parents.

Jack chuckled and chided,
Their fears he derided,
And then much to their mirth and enjoyment,
He said, "We'll start a new industry
That sells hospitality
And offers year-round and seasonal employment."

Do you remember the king?
That mean, stingy old thing
Died alone in his big empty palace.
But before his reign ended,
His will was amended,
And Princess Daphne inherited alles.

She thought the place would work well
As a swanky hotel
Or a posh B&B just for pirates.
But Mad Jack and his gang
Were arraigned and then hanged,
They should have kept their retirement more private.

And thus, dear ladies and dudes,
My narration concludes
About Daphne's and Jack's days of glory.
She turned her dad's mausoleum
Into a pirate museum
And made a killing, some say,
Conducting tours every day
For visitors who'd pay
To hear a pirating princess' story.

Premium Member Ice On My Igloo

Ice on my igloo
  roads frosted over
Cursed, cutting cadaverous cold
deathly chill from Calais to Dover

Thought it was nippy
  but my fingers are numb
Arctic algidity all around
  winds whistle, envelop my town

Why must we endure
  gelid, glacial Siberian air
Is warmth only comprehended
when to harrowing cold it's compared

God creates effortlessly, Himself medium, substance-source almighty – nothing can rub, manifest resistance to His Will --

God rested. Think not of fatigue...nor of a project completed, written in stone unchangeable, for God’s complete-perfect also allows for change-perfect. Think more in terms of the rests in musical compositions, heightening the experience of sound – think of the negative-space in art, that allows for imaginative schemes of enhancement. God can create and be finished simultaneously, ongoing. God is in and out at the same time. Up and down at the same time. Death is also resurrection eternal. The only finite is when man limits his understanding, attempts to reconcile flawless, endless continuity, by using fragmented thought patterns, our lagging sense of spiritual/physical reality. We see only bits and pieces of truth at a time, nothing comprehended entirely as it is (The I Am). As we evolve mentally, spiritually, physically, we draw from and add to the endless streams of conscious untold universes (countless dimensions)~ thoughts are substance. Not seeing anything clearly, fully, in its entirety, what we compel, reason, will out, through the eyes of love are man’s greatest attributes and revelations.

She is sitting idle, pondering about life,
thinking the aim is not just to survive.

Trying hard to follow the theory,
'live every moment and don't worry.'

She thought doing this would be very easy,
thus judged those who were not exemplary.

But realized, like money, success doesn't grow on trees.
Have to look for new paths, opportunities to seize.

She perceived, have to work hard day and night,
bleed from her palms until she gets that thing right.

Comprehended, everyday getting up is a fight,
but watching the sunrise is also a delight.

She now understood, life treats all equally,
some have guts to accept, others beg and plead.

Now it's up to her who she wants to be,
a brave soldier or a cry baby.

Learnt, life's utterly brutal, doesn't even have a sequel.

It means there was never scope for suspense,
have a happy ending or terrible one with many amends.

Premium Member Christ the Word Became Flesh - John 1: 1-14

There He was in the beginning
the living word being divine
for He was with God at the start
in creation everything was fine

In this word indeed was life
despite the darkness shined His light
sending forth His servant John
bearing witness of light to banish night

This enlightener was coming forth
who was here but we did not know
even all we have this word had made
not willingly received Him despite His show

For He came to His own people
and they refused Him their true Lord
but those that did believe upon Him
were drawn by His divine cord

This came to be by God's will
as the word showed forth His glory
this Christ was full of grace and truth
as God's son displayed the gospel story

(1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.)

No House Built On a Bridge, Part Three

3.

Or down yet another city street,
This Way down that grand Hiway,
That Third Eye opened:
Random patches of dandelion manifest,
Climbing the overgrown commons by the road;
Disappearing out of sight -
By the cracked, sun-blanched sidewalk;
Golden and deep emerald green dandelion
Over the smog-choked horizon.
Humanity on the brink,
Sliding down that proverbial 'slippery slope" -
To the proverbial abyss of our insouciance, to
Our bourgeois folly, infernal cruelty fed by witless greed,
The more mundane, mere surface of all things, as they may be.

But again, surely, this can't be all that is: So mean, so toxic.
Refreshed, one looks again, looks with eyes wide open with
New Saving Knowledge.
Now the patches of dandelion seem even more startlingly
Alive and vibrant.
They seem, somehow, almost "more real than real".
Illumined, they appear hyper-real, dazzlingly brilliant,
Appear preternatural, mesmerisingly coronal, and
Opulent, yet as though man-made, like ethereal origami,
Like the sun itself, another Saving "Point of Navigation" to
the Hidden Infinite Divine Source behind all things mundane.

"Jesus said [to Judas Iscariot], 'Come and I will teach you ...
about a great realm and a boundlessness whose measure no angelic
race has comprehended. In it is the great Invisible Spirit ...'"

--- The Gospel of Judas 10: 1 - 5

"God is one's very 'own'. It is the eternal relationship. One realizes Him in
direct proportion to the intensity of one's feelings for Him. Don't be afraid.
Always remember that somebody is protecting you."

"He who is really anxious to cross the ocean of the material world will somehow break his bonds. No one can entangle him."

--- The Holy Mother, Sri Saradamani Devi, the divine consort of
     Sri Ramakrishna

"Mary [Magdalene] said [to Jesus Christ], 'Lord, is there a place which [lacks truth]? The Lord said, "The place where I am not!'"

--- From the Dialogue of the Savior

"God is a dyer. As the good dyes, which are called 'true', dissolve with
the things dyed in them, so it is with those whom God has dyed. Since his dyes are immortal, they are immortal by means of his colors."

Broken Logic

borders drawn and refused entry
my thoughts limit themselves to their flawed counterparts
seeking answers from those who never question authority
hiding behind those who know the truth that they were merely told
wishing to be held one last time closely by someone they thought they loved
ink spills onto parchment and produces an image of long forgotten angst
smiles of hollow-headed individuals who speak in groups that never translate

portions of a broken mirror still reflect what we have yet to see
bloody fingers fumble through the mess that is organized at our ends
alliances with enemies to progress to a place that we find surreal
holding our hands out for payment and receiving just advice on how to live
smelling the acid that pours from our lips and poisons our process

holding our flag high while reciting an anthem to those below
promising that we are equal while explaining our differences
the blind will hear and the deaf will see

motors make noise and move the people forward
while all they wish to do is look back upon what they left behind
pay no attention to those who hate what you create for they do not understand original thoughts
hate has been around much too long and we must advance towards a better life

the stanzas end with a response that you never thought could be comprehended
broken down to your knees, you stand in the ruins of your collapsed dream
you smile at the skies with clouds that promise to bring relief in due time
though nothing can come close to the pain that you felt when you realized she was gone

take a star from the expanse and cast it behind your shoulder
follow the sun and lead yourself by the moon
smile no more and frown no less
we will all be together eventually

pieces of us will be reflected in broken mirrors
but we will be together
again

On a Lonely Bench

Sitting on a lonely bench,
Memories got me blenched,
Your heart I tried to clench,
Though, the rains got me drenched,
From hearts I needed to entrench...

Your words not retrenched,
From things I wanted to bent,
While you often tended to bend,
Without letting me mend...

You, I tried to fend,
You borrowed and erased the times I used to lend,
Manipulated and used by you,
Pretending to be a friend...

From hallows I ascended
From errors you descended,
My life wished to be attended.
Even though, you got me expended,
My hands were still extended,
Even though, you got me offended...

The times I misspended,
You still condescended me,
Though, the changes were about to be impended,
I was still amended,
And I was still intended...

But, I was not comprehended,
Even though, you were condemned and untamed,
While I was aimed to be blamed,
Still, more thing you wanted to borrow and gain...

Although, this is the end,
The ways, I will paint,
For the pains to get unbended,
As I contemplate nature and life,
With memories that swayed and portended,
As my soul slowly transcended,
While sitting on a lonely bench...

Premium Member Coming Home

I’ve been adrift on the sea, a lost soul of ideal inspiration
Tossed asunder amongst realities harsh waves of the incomplete,
A disembarked being, caught at the mercy of a thundering riptide
Of indecision, floundering, drowning alone, with no life preserver
To cling upon!
Rolling waves crashing against my bare exposed mental flesh,
I’ve know the deeply threshing under currents of the starving mind,
Of the uninspired, the de-mused, without imaginations glory,
An orphaned child without thoughts infusion!
Once I disembarked on a sinking craft, a vessel without sail or wind,
Ideally wondering having no true course, or no dead reckonings landing
Point of reference!
A voiceless refuge unable to scream for help, to and fro so did
I just rock upon the waves of homeless, and helpless,
In this self- inflicted imprisonment so did this castaway dwell,
In this empty ocean, alone mariner aboard a sinking ship!
But than a far off light shown, it burned at my blind eyes,
With such brilliance did it so shine, as if by a magic I
Couldn’t understand or comprehended, my tiny boat
Find its way into a safe sheltering port, many open
Hands reached out to this lost soul and pulled me
Upwards towards inspirations dry land!
Voices spoke gently unto me in the whispering winds
Of imagination, your free here, you’ve come home
At last, soar, fly be at peace now drifter, you are welcome
Here amongst thy kindred!
Standing at the dock of acceptance, I turned and watched
My tiny ship torn apart by the hurling waves of change,
Then I realized that many others were still left on this
Ocean of aloneness, and how lucky I was to find my
Way home at last!
I’ve found my place in this big old world at last,
Here where I can express myself,
Amongst others whom have excepted me for myself,
On this island called the internet,
In a cyber-family, amongst my friends and kindred,
I’ve finally come home at last, in a place
Mixed with diversities beauty,
In this poetry soup of humanity!
Here I’ve tried my anchor, no more a wander,
Just a voyager remembering, looking upwards
At an inspirational sky and finally able to bath
In the guiding wake of my own imagination,
And sharing it with others of my own poetic
Experience, thank you for the welcoming,
I’m home at last!
