The Butterfly Cocooned

Noon
Beneath higher twig tips,
    my heart flutters
Near converging branches.

My cocoon
Rests
Mid-high the strength
    and distinctive character
Of a gnarly tree. Embracing me.
This, my home…Cocoon.

Night.
This essential place,
Protecting
Above the swirling world,
Puzzling with its mixing motions
Of lights, colors, temperatures,
Until...

Cocooned

Just like a butterfly trapped tight,

her folded wings await the flight.

Cocooned, she fears what to expect

             ...

Cocooned
Winter's crisp yet early breath whispered to me this eve
A yearly session as we, the cold and me, gather
Conferring when, when can I join her, join her as she
gallops wild and free-

Life has been cocooned, reigned tight and sensory
deprived-
all I cry for is...

Premium Member Cocooned In Solitude
Alone with aqua alpine air
The calm cocoon of cotton clouds
Permeates peaceful patience
Taught by teardrop tranquility
Nestled in nocturnal nests
Murmurs the meditative moon
Here, the hallowed hush of heaven.

Cocooned
Loneliness and sadness
Are my constant shadows.
My unsolicited friends.
They keep me company
In times when no one seems to understand.
They chose me to be their companion.
But, in retrospect, did I choose them?
I always wonder.

Over the years,
I tried to secure
     my joys
        my happiness
 ...

With perfect obsession
I shrink-wrap
to your contours -

cocooned;
butterfly will never escape my mania.

Cocooned within
embryo awaits
a moment
of elation
when birth
will release
the offspring
to a new adventure.

Wings enfolded
in prayer like slumber
will yield to
the currents;
aloft
beauty leaves
its gentle impression
upon the air
and the sighted
will breathe in
a moment of
elysian bliss.

Premium Member Cocooned By Bliss
Cocooned by bliss, no finish line
The serpent takes its path
All we do, is with love align
Each breath, holy sabbath

When soul begins to learn
Exiting erst ways stern
Renews within bliss burn

Feel here now this
Cocooned by bliss

Cocooned
I’ve been cocooned for three straight days
Within my warm apartment,
Accomplishing assorted things
And writing (my department!).

Though sick at first (which made me sleep),
I read and watched some cable,
Then made some photo books when I
Felt better and was able.

Some crosswords kept me occupied;
A book held my attention.
I...

Cocooned In a Single Being
I do not seek words of praise
Or words that you may think that I might like to hear
I seek the purest heart and soul
Sincere,

I seek not what money can buy
But rather, I seek what money cannot buy
Health and happiness

I seek not your smile when you...

Cocooned
the words fall over the cliff of my lips
and as they fall they die.
nothing says the way I feel
except your lullaby.
the one your old piano plays
late on a winter's eve,
I lie upon your dark green rug
and blend into the weave.
To get as close to nothing
underneath...

Cocooned Magic
It creeps and crawls upon a twig,
         for every inch a loathsome
         squirm;
disgusting thing, such hideous sight,
         that hairy, spiny,...

Premium Member The Dread of Winter
The approach of winter she silently dread.
The cat is meowing, demands to be fed.
She checked her to do list that ran thru her head:
get to the gym, to the store to buy bread,
finish the book that she's partially read..
She scolded herself to get up from...
