Loralei’s green eyes flickered in the dark,
Noticed by males, especially Clark.
She captivated him in every way.
He reminisced about her most of the day.
Truth told, she was totally unaware.
Of his bold prowess, and that he did care.
He came courting and met her stout brothers.
Her grandma and one of her stepmothers.
They put him to work on the family farm.
Let him feed the bull without any harm.
Loralei noticed he was lots of help.
He was strong too, not like a little whelp.
Loralei and Clark promptly fell in love.
A blissful marriage honored from above.
They were Meriwether Lewis and William Clark,
Her name was Sacagawea.
On an expedition they did embark
Finding the passage to the sea.
Down the Missouri they traveled,
Then slithered 'round the Snake River bend.
Rocky Mountain weather and sickness battled;
At the Columbia River they'd end.

Since I was the oldest of three sisters with a mum,
As my dad had died when I was at an age young,
I thought I’d join the navy to help out my family,
But I excluded the black segregation code anomaly.
In training our instructors gave us our work, hard,
But you could work up to being the mates, guard,
Of the officers, an intimate situation, all food made,
You would know everything after a while, anticipate.
Because I was black, I could only serve an officer,
But I was told the job was essential, but felt inferior,
Even though I knew many men that were jealous of me,
‘Cos we used to train men in flag control and gunnery.
We felt like a mobile target as planes bombed often,
The ship got repaired when it was replenished, ben,
But one morning after I’d been out, Cinderella Liberty,
Another black man came down, there was a calamity.
It was the Pearl Harbour bombing and the ship got hit,
Torpedoes fell onto us but did not explode, not writ,
But they went right into the hull and made our ship tip,
Such that eight minutes later the ship was history, a quip.
Upon the command abandon ship, I got through a port,
‘Cos I just knew not to put a life jacket on for passport,
We got to the walkway outside the captain’s cabin,
And then swam for Ford Island, our own safety to win.
I was hit in the head, the shoulder and the leg,
But was with a corpsman, a nurse, who had the peg,
Who saw me to Ford Island First Aid Station, his duty,
Then I went to the submarine base hospital, a casualty.
My friend Dorie Miller from when I was at school,
Saved the captain and his officer, he did not fool
With race, when on board the USS West Virginia,
But only got the Navy Cross because of his colour.
He should’ve got the Congressional Medal,
‘Cos that was what you got for that pedal;
He only didn’t get it because he was black,
Which is not fair when I pensively look back.
SUICIDAL LOVE.... by Lakeyia Clark
One night drinking, questioning the reality of her fate
Lead her heart into a slump of love vs. hate
Everything that was once there is now dead and gone
Washed away after the storm, she's now left alone
He thought he could trust her and ended up hurt
Now they are only what at first they never were
She was in the wrong place at the wrong time
Questioning herself trying to recall everything in her mind
Screaming telling the attacker please stop and a series of No's
Been thrown around and then into a unconscious state she goes
Who could she run to, who would listen
She thought it would be him but he said parts of the story were missing
Trying her best to convince him that it didn't happen by consent
He told her there was no more of them and out the door he went
Don't turn your back on me is what she tried to say
But he wasn't hearing it, he turned his back anyways
Her heart says pursue him cause this is who she wants and needs
But she can’t get through to his heart if he's holding tight to the keys
The victim of a scandalous scheme is never good for anybody
It'll make the most confident, loving, and trusting individual feel and appear as a nobody
The trust that was once there is no longer alive
To him she is fake and everything was a lie
Love for the man but confused as hell
Not the first time she's seen this but is now tormented with hell
Hate for every attacker forcing her to have a void towards men
Thinking that her man was the one she could trust, cause he was Heaven Sent
In her mind she wants to say leave it and let him be
But her heart says go after him you've given him so much of me
So do she put her heart on the line and risk a homicidal love
Or does she pretend like it’s not there and settle for a suicidal love
The truth was first revealed and he don't see it as foul play
A suicidal love cause she was a victim and he chose to walk away
Metropolis didn't have any more phone booths which wasn't fair,
Clark Kent now having to change out in the open air,
one day while he was changing,
elderly ladies started fainting,
thinking he was some stripper from Chippendales.
The Rain…(the reply)(By: Lakeyia Clark 09/05/09)
If it’s always a rainy day...how can I see the sunshine
If the clouds never move...am I wasting my time
The clouds are like giants that I have to face
I’m an overachiever of course but will I win the race
Do you hear the rain and how its pouring down
Where is my happiness...it can’t be found...
Wanting much more for my child than I ever had
I still try to make it throughout the good and bad
Wrapped up in bondage from the things of my past
This pain is deep inside and I'm just wearing a mask
To cover up the pain that’s rooted deep within
To cover up the past and the hurt that nobody can mend
I don’t want to deal with it anymore
But I know I have a child to live for
The ugly truth has been revealed
In not so many words yet this is how I feel
With hatred and bitterness towards each and everyone
Men are viewed as predators and the damage is already done
But I try not to let that hold me back from succeeding
Though I'm happy now, my heart keeps bleeding
Bleeding from the beatings, cries, and scars
I try to erase them but they are what they are
Permanent damage to an innocent soul
Sleepless nights and I carry a load
Every night I sleep with the pain
Running from pain to be with what won’t hurt me
Crying out for happiness and to find my sanity
Every day I walk in the rain
But if I walk the other way what would be there
Would I be setting myself up for something I can’t bear
Would it be more of pain and less to gain
Or would it be a way for me to see through the rain

For the Reverend Jacqui Clark, of the church of St.John the Baptist, Devizes, with love
God loves little Jacqui Clark
With all her kind and merry ways
Bright darling candle in the dark
Dear joyful soul who lights our days
Thank you, Jacqui, for the love
You bear to heal our hurt and pain
For blesséd manna from above
Flows forth from you
Like gentle rain

Remember how we used to sit next to each other in 7th grade. Till now you were a friend that always stayed. When others would talk about me..... You told me let go. Silence it set your yourself free. Not only were you beautiful outside. Your inside turned this man into what he was ment to be. You planted a sprout that turned into a great tree. I was a nobody that you had interest in. The place your friendship took me to made my world spin. I became this outcast just to fit in. Next thing I know you were along side. For some reason you stayed just for the ride. The innocent girl now a punk rocker. I'll hold you in my heart a unbreakable locker. God losing you hurts so bad im shaking. Know without you I wouldn't be a artist in the making. These words I write today wouldn't exist. We would say rebel make a fist!!! Even after you moved. The true friend you really proved. Made sure I was a good dad. To know your not without your makes me sad. Called my words sick. Said I was real to keep it slick. You left this world leaving a mark. Inside this chest you ignited a spark. So rest in peace. I know what you'd want. So these tears ill cease.

Caitlin Clark this, Caitlin Clark that
your name is magic, you're the Cat in the Hat
You’ve got folks so mesmerized
they don’t see you’re undersized
In a tizzy, fans shell out their dough
Don’t they know you’re skinny and slow
Over you the media's ablaze
all they print's effusive praise
Yet not a word about this corker
~ your new pro team is mediocre
Mr. Clark,
That's your name,
After 3 years,
You felt my pain,
You broke up with me,
Like its a game,
So now you wishing it can change,
I dont want to turn back,
But its hard,
You were my first love,
And the one that broke my heart,
You have moved on and so did I,
Did you make the right decision telling me BYE?
