He never stopped preaching
About the color of my hair
So I kept right on bleaching
and now there's nothing there

Rules For Having a Side Chick

Let's go through the rules for having a side chick
I know a lot of people won't like this
A few guys get one, when their relationship starts to get strain
Make sure you save your side chicks number under a mans name

Delete all messages that may look suspicious
Text her like she's a friend, don't put any kisses
Don't fall in love or try to fulfill all her wishes
Always remember she's nothing but a mistress

Never buy a present for a side chick
Only give her a present if your main girl didn't like it
Never spend time with her on Christmas or an important day
Cause she's just meant for fun, she's not meant to stay

Don't slip away from quality time with your main girl, to contact her
Your main girl is your priority, your side chick doesn't matter
If you've got a girl you adore and are happy with where your life is
Then you're dumb if you go and get a side chick

He said, “Chick-flicks I do not like.”
As they settled into place.
“I need violence, shoot-up scenes,
And at least one good car chase.”
But he promised to watch with his girlfriend
Full of embarrassment and disgrace;
Half-way through the movie
Tears streamed down his face.

“Why was he so mean to her?
And those girls sure were good friends.
I didn’t think the illness
Would consume her in the end.”
He tried to hide his sniffles,
So a cold he did pretend.
She knew he had a touched heart
Every time he squeezed her hand.

Now every one of his Friday nights
Is a movie night with her.
An emotional outpouring
Is surely to occur.
He wonders all week long
What new story might be offered.
Cuddled up on her living room couch
Is the venue they both prefer.

My Favorite Things As a Middle Aged Chick

Night sweats and crazy
Hot flashes and lazy
Mood swings and a body (?)
That looks pretty shoddy

Eating and bleeding and wanting to scream
These are a few of my Favorite Things

When your doctor
Says a shocker
that your
Uterus is a lobster

I simply remember to pretend I'm filled with glee
and then
I forget that my uterus is in atrophy

Premium Member Diamonds In Her Heart

She was the plainest buzzard in the chicken coop.
Man, is she plain, the roosters used to say.
But one rooster gave her a chance. They shared a nest.
She had diamonds in her heart. He told people
But they did not believe, for those diamonds were
Reserved for him and theirs. They had a fine time too
Until the farmer ran out of food. The rooster thought of her fondly.
Wondering where she had gone, not realizing it was not her choice
To never share his nest again. The chicks knew, peeping the horror story
To every animal in the barnyard. None of them spoke peep though.

I was born in May, my nest was in a hole of an old tree. Mother had made
the nest warm and cozy with hair, fur, and dead leaves. I often wondered
where she got the hair. I had seven siblings in the beginning. Our home
was in a boreal forest in Northern Canada. I soon realized I liked the cold.
Of course, in the first days of my life I was helpless, mother and father fed
us. But, by eighteen days I had sprouted wings and was flapping them a lot.
I thought I was ready to fly but mother would push me back into the nest.

Mother's songs were so beautiful with trills and whistles, soon I was singing.
Sadly, I lost some of my siblings to predators, owls, hawks, even squirrels.
I am a Boreal Chickadee, a songbird, I am sure you have heard our songs.
I forage on confer branches, probe the bark. Our home is in trouble, it is
being cut down, and we are dramatically threatened. I am afraid of where
I will go. For now, I forage the boreal forest with a small flock of friends.

we sing sweet trilling songs
that drift through the trees for miles ...
                   as snow gently falls

My Chick

You’re skin and bones, chick.
Compassion commands me stop,
stare, on my path, where you sleep.
I see dryness, hear stillness, feel silence.

You’re skin and bones, chick.
Were your chirps for worms
silenced in unsound Mother’s ears?
Your wings, too weak,
too still, on your first, failed, flight?
Your plume-less limbs
Coverless in cold night?

Uncovered corpse, bony chick.
No shore water to wash away
your undug green grave
in a low, lonely juniper.
My eyes wash me in salt water.

I have a path; yours ends here
your bones sinking, my brain soaring.
Which frightened robin, fleeing my footsteps,
was your misguided mother? So unlike mine,
who saw her child, underfed, and said,
“You’re skin and bones, my chick.”

Baby Chick

Born a new baby.
Life ,such a beautiful thing.
Be gone baby chick.

One Slick Chick

There is an old saying....
keep your friends near, but keep your enemies even closer...

This is a poem about a very smart Chick...
Who was very resourceful and very slick...
Rumor had it there was a Wolf, and he had a way...
Of taking advantage of everyone on any given day...
He had terrorized the neighborhood for the very last time...
They had a town meeting , and all agreed...
That the only choice was a dastardly deed...
Chick volunteered to take on the challenge...
And majority stated, he had to explunge...
“I’d love to have you over for dinner on Friday “ said Chick...
To which Wolf stated quite arrogantly, but quick...
It would be my pleasure...see you at eight...
There was a beautiful shining Harvest Moon, when Wolf arrived at the gate...
Come sit in my hot tub, said Chick turning on some tunes...
Dinner should be ready very soon...
The water is hot , said the Wolf...
Ahh , but your body will feel so much better...
Just relax and drink this wine, dinner will have much more flavor...
Hours went by...then the doorbell rang...
It was the Pigs, from town known as the “ gang “...
Quick grab a chair and please be aware ...
That I have slaved all day for this affair...
One which will change your perception of me...
I might be a Chick, but as you will see...
I have accepted the challenge, and done my best...
So do me a favor and please honor my request ...
Use your best table manners, and please do not squeal...
And for everyone’s sake, try not to “ Wolf “ down this meal...

The Chick

Under the shelter of the mother’s wing
a baby chick can hide,
nourished and safe from the cares of this world
as long as there he will abide.

Yet, he has to be able to
learn to share and share alike,
for he has brothers and sisters who want what he has
like, for instance that pretty new bike.

Consequently, the wise chick says to himself
why, I am going to strike out on my own,
why I’m too big for the wing stuff
and what would my friends think back home.

What the chick doesn’t know won’t hurt him?
Hey, I’m sorry my friend that just isn’t so,
why there are devilish weasels waiting out there
when they see him alone after him they will go.

So, my son, I mean dear chick
the time comes so soon that you gladly will fly away,
but wait just a little bit longer
and under momma’s wing learn to trust and obey.

Hot Chick

High maintenance, Lots of patience
Trying to stay out of police stations

They drive you nuts, With their butts
                          You better have
A million bucks, I wish you luck
                     You know your stuck

                          Nice clothes
                        Expensive stores
                        That really blows

                    Nice cars, Fancy bars
                        G-string panties
                        In their drawers

          High maintenance, Lots of patience
                        There's an explanation
                          For our fascination

                   Double d's, I guarantee
                             We all agree
                     That's what we need

To go broke, Let's try and cope
                      This ain't a joke
                      Let's take a vote
                     This song is dope
