Premium Member My Truths - POTD

Quote By Poet "What I have learned, peacemakers are everything."

My truths shall set me free,
to be the creative person I must be.
Always free to live the life God wants for me,
the life to show Him I do care for Him.
Truth can come in many sizes,
it is all about how we look at our life.
My truth about giving and receiving one's love is priceless,
some things in life one cannot put a price on.
Love in deeds and words are a must,
I will not give out pain.
For that is what this world so freely gives out,
my truth wants to live in peace and kindness daily.
Showing I care for the world,
my truth and Thee shall always be alive.

Premium Member The Space Between Stars Is Not Empty

As I sit here upon this full moon,
it is October not hot June.
The comets whiz by playing a happy tune,
they make me want to swoon.

The space between stars is not empty hooray,
it is filled with colors of blue and gray.
I love to watch by night and by day,
being filled with both the moon and sun spray.

I see this pretty space beltway,
the shinning diamond stars have much to say.
Each star has a roll to play,
out here in this pretty space buffet.

Premium Member Three sides to every story

Many have told me it's all about "me"
every time I hear that I want to flee
let's talk it over
don't act like a rover
I always like to make it about we.

What can I say to you about "myself"
I feel you put me on a bookshelf
hearing your many words
you speak like a bird
I must always be true to thyself.

Now we have me, myself, and "I"
can you see it through my eye
there are three in one
guess it is all done
asking why I must always try.

Premium Member POETRY IS A DANCE

Poetry is a dance of words and feelings,
                                  Bouncing off my inner ear;
                            Laughter, tears and joyous giggling
That only the writer's heart can hear,

A tension playing against life's strings,
                      Vibrating wildly to my soul's quickening pace;
                              Rushing, gushing, struggling to be
The first upon the mighty page.

Premium Member You live in a fantasy

What a pretty day,
sitting watching bees play.
My yellow sunflower bends.
I am perched up high,
friends will go by.
Dragon fly and a fairy are friends.

Premium Member The Author of Forever's Serenade

When the author of forever sang
his serenade,
‘twas longing in a virgin’s heart,
the strings he played.
So liltingly and stirringly
did words cascade,
they conjured scent of rose bouquets
in serenade.

Of everlasting love he crooned
in serenade.
Bliss never is inopportune.
His lure was laid.
As sweet refrains flowed through her veins,
the vow he made
was happiness without an end
in serenade.

Upon the troubadour who sang
the serenade,
she smiled, led him by the hand
to grassy glade.
And there beneath a blushing sky,
beguiled maid
succumbed with heady soul that rang
with serenade.

The author of forever, who
croons serenades,
woos the maids, then into the
horizon fades.
His lyrics penned are fiction; he’ll
be not delayed
from moving on, oh vagrant bard
of serenade.

My Opinion

She's too skinny. She's too fat.
He's too white. He's too black.

She's too pretty. She's not hot.
He wears stripes. He likes dots.

She's too peppy. She's too sad.
He's too cheerful. He's too mad.

She's too quiet. She's too loud.
He's too humble. He's to proud.

She's too much a lady. She's not enough.
He's too weak. He's too tough.

She's too lenient. He's too strict.
I can't have a conversation without pitching a fit.

It's too old. It's too new.
I want more than one, but I'll hate having two.

It's too original. It's too much the same.
I don't care if you say it's awesome, I say it's lame.

Too young, too old, too short, too tall,
I have standards to uphold, and you'll conform to them all.

Although we don't see eye to eye,
And our opinions are as different as whole wheat and rye,

I won't unfollow, I won't ignore.
I'll shove my opinions through your front door.

I'll shame you in public and criticize your name.
It's not "just a movie". It's not "just a game".

Your misery is my happiness, unless I get what I want,
And I'll get what I want through threats and insults, hatred and taunts.

You will confirm until we agree.
This is all about me, me, me.

Premium Member A Jill Nursery Rhyme

Did you read about me going up a hill,
that was with Jack not with Bill.
Guess you know my drill,
"Jack and Jill" sure had a big thrill.

My dear friend "Little Jack Horner,"
loved sitting in the corner.
I wanted to be outside but he was a mourner,
he would also read about being a foreigner.

"Jack Be Nimble" was sure quick,
our fun neighbor was never sick.
Pretty candles he did pick,
jumping high over the lit wick.

"Jack Sprat" and his wife,
she carried a big knife.
He had no fat in his life,
she had only lean with strife.

Hope you have enjoyed reading about me,
I am Jill and I want to be set free.
Yes, on that hill I hurt my knee,
that fall made me pee.

Premium Member Petals of Pain

Quote By Poet "The pretty rose has thorns to keep her safe."

My life starts as a lovely rose bud,
I come in many beautiful colors.
Red roses tell a story of love and romance,
while white roses show herself as innocent and pure.
My buds will open up to show my face,
a face of beauty and pain for some.
Memories from the past roses,
they hurt as if from today.
While my thorns are to protect me,
will they protect you?
Remember when you took my petals off one by one,
making a wish on each petal?
Some came true,
some hurt you through and through.
My soft petals with perfume,
were not meant to hurt but they do.

Premium Member Books Unread

Why is the middle where I put a book down?
My anticipation dies at that half-read interlude.
I lack the discipline that keeps me inbound.
A famous author's endings should be praised, and not eschewed.

Premium Member The Cat Nursery Rhyme

Cat cat wear your cap,
Cat cat go catch a rat.
Cat cat paws to tap,
Cat cat can you rap?
Cat cat now take your nap.

Premium Member Autumn's Author

Dancing, laughing, praising
Psalms of leaves, breathtaking
Whispering joy – kindness
Poetry so stirring, earthshaking

It’s the time for creatures
To gather their nuts and leaves
Hope invites gentle blending
Heart and soul who loves, believes

Smiling like the moonlight
Who silences the stars, nocturnal
Blessings raining through life
Assuring the spirit of the eternal

It’s the miracle of a prayer
The feeling that cures each doubt
Who abides in those who trust
Have faith in God’s wisdom throughout

Falling through the sunshine
Dreams echoing beauty and peace
Creating sensations of creativity
Compassion that will only increase

It’s the autumn, vibrant and inspiring
Who rises through the hills, thrilling
Reassuring – blessing the entire world
With a joy that is alive, so fulfilling

Breathing light, like a fire from inside
Roaring beauty, graceful – uplifting
Reminds the spirit to believe, to know
It is God – Autumn’s author, gifting…

The heart, mind and spirit – with this
Wonders – rousing the sweetest bliss

Premium Member Robert Lindley a Great Poet and Author

ROBERT LINDLEY A GREAT POET AND AUTHOR

This poem is dedicated to a good friend and great poet and author for whom I have enormous admiration.

Robert Lindley, a good friend author and poet,
You have Shakespeare in you, I know it,
Because your poetry is so exquisite,
It just flows, without any prerequisite,
A poet of note, humble, you never flaunt it!

I am relatively new to Poetry Soup,
And all the other members in this group,
Know how awesome you are, and that you go back,
To your teens, writing this magic, what a track
Record, to you I bow as I am sure do the troupe!
