I sit alone as evening claims the day,
with common crow my only confidant.
I watch the sun sink slowly in the bay
while musing life and love so nonchalant.

As night descends upon my humble soul,
my furtive feelings ponder kinship lost.
I’m missing precious love that makes me whole;
my dearest darling gone at such a cost.

And woe I say, why did she go away,
and leave my heavy heart in agony;
behind, my shallow spirit here to stay;
she cast our love away so damnably.

Alas, I rue thee, my ascetic life,
and long to lance my heart with wretched knife.

Fairytales and Love

************************************************

Clouds burst their rainbows amid the night....

Cascading showers in loves colourful lights

Glitter became the stars which filled the sky

Inside my heart and afore my eyes ~

Into my soul did they come to rest

Atop palettes of dreams; their dreams bequest....

What you knew and what I thought

Who I am and whom your not

As time it tears this page so fair

Confetti streams, tis where I'll find you there....

Your voice rose gold
touching deep beauty
If I were a cloud
I would rain kisses all over you
It was no secret that she was in love with the rain

Landing on paradise
blown away like a hurricane
Lifting me of my feet
floating in your beautiful words
To set sail in strong love storm
Dance with me in grace
If love is gentle like you
Long gentle kiss awaiting warm and soft lips

Holding hands your grace
joy lights up inside every shadow
Dreaming by candlelight
The obsession tiny diamonds from heaven pour
Take me with you into your dreams
where I will be happy and free with you forever more

Within the angel rays of sunlight sparkle
A tantalizing sensation wowed by the gaze
Together we will travel through
the unknown path of rose petals
Twelve red roses softly blush scarlet
wishing in the heavens for you
we will sing in another world angel

Maiden of the ocean whispering waves
Each one salted with your spices
Let the waves hypnotize us
In Magic moments we shared so much more
Trying to soak everything in, not wasting any time
Dream of a thousand lifetimes beyond compare
Gentle winds kissing you a queen in four corners
within warm pockets inside fingers of air

Premium Member A Lament For Lost Youth and Love

I mourn for the death of my former youth,
a time of innocence and naive bliss
which hid from me life's dark, unpleasant truth,
     but now holds all the pleasures that I miss;

a time of handsome beauty, brawn, and thews,
as of Greek gods in their Olympian prime,
like Hercules of fabled strength, sinews,
and might of past renown from mythic time.

But, O Cupid!...how I do most pine for
your renewing of my dead, barren life,
which now lusts for the nubiles of folklore,
whose maidenheads can quench my burning strife!

Because of my decline's ever-growing years,
I've lost both youth and love as old age nears.

Love Is Not and Love Is

Love is a small big word

Many times written

but easily mispelled

All ears can hear it

All eyes can read it

but few will feel it

Only the special ones

will understand

this four letter word

which makes all the difference

when we walk hand in hand.

Tell me,
My dear friend,
My beloved brother,
My trusted ally,

Till when are we going to let
The autocrats
The dictators
The despots, and
The tyrants govern us?

Till when do we intend to allow these
Barbarous
Vicious
Immoral, and
Unholy glory-seekers rule our lives?

Till when are we going to permit these ignorant monsters,
To imprison,
To torture,
To maim, and
To kill their own people?

Till when are we going to observe these savages;
Attacking,
Occupying,
Enslaving, and
Obliterating smaller nations?

For how many more millennia do we have to witness the devastation of
Humanity because of these morally impotent criminals who
Instill tons of hatred in the hearts and minds of our fellow humans?

Tell me, my friend, my brother, my trusted ally,
Isn't about time to revolt against such malicious rulers?
Against such practices?
Against war?
Against ignorance, and
Against injustice?

Has not the time come to replace these bloodthirsty evil men
With virtuous men?
With men of a loving heart and mind?
With knowledgeable men?
With compassionate men for peace?
With men of wisdom and justice?

Come now, my fellow human,
I wish you would agree with me.
I want you to agree with me.
I beg you to agree with me.
I implore you to agree with me if you, too, wish to see a
Fellowship of men and nations that cares for each other and is:
Kinder,
Nobler, and more
Loving,
Otherwise,
The afflictions of humanity will never end,
Unless, as Plato* has indicated in his Republic**,
The wise and the just would rule the world
Or
Those who rule the world become just and
Wise!

My Life Was Full of Gratitude and Love

medallion dreams now turned to grey,
wild flower scented sheets once laid
on the line held with clothesline wood pins,
now all I can do is hang on to that rope line
for dear life;
      (gripping goodbyes)

I sit at my sill inside the nook and
watch generational bonds form.
I look at my hubby and say with pride,
     "look what we started, sweetheart..."

Sixty-five years of marriage with
eons of photo frames lining the walls-
for he is my mate to my soul;
                              my line to my life.

I've worn my heart on my sleeve
since the first time I gave my heart
away-
        (high school sweethearts)
I was young,
fell in love too easily;
trusted blindly
but
it was worth every prick to my heart-
every bloodstream that flowed with
pain.

my skin untoned,
wrinkled with spots of age;
beautiful scars worn for years have
finally mended and healed-
for no longer am I scarred.

they say it time and time again....
but honestly-
no I don't wish I knew then what I
know now.

for it is through growth I lived
a life completely full of affection.
I know what it's like to fall in love so
deep your toes curl,
I know what it's like to have two sisters
choose death over life-
I know how it feels to embrace
a daughter on the day she was born,
   and
I know how it feels to be loved so
unconditionally...
even the angels weep.

to be grateful is to have lived;
and that is what I shall die saying...
                            "blessed am I."
             (gripping life)

Forevermore, I am your lover, Orfeo…..
My arms wrapped softly about your kness
As you strummed your guitar, Orfeo,
Your love songs, floating in a Brazilian breeze.

Our life and love, was never meant to last.
Yet while we are young and filled with mirth,
Knowing we are doomed by tales from the past.
Let us samba, making love while still on earth.

We shall wake from our silken, sleep my love
Watching a glorious sunrise in Rio.
Your hand warn in mine, like an Angel from above,
Te adoro, mi Amore, Orfeo, mio!

Poem Inspired by the movie, “Black Orpheus”
Based on Greek myholgy…
Regarding Orpheus and Eurydice.**in the movie
version, she calls him,”Orfeo.”

Faith, Hope and Love

have faith in yourself,
then hope will follow life through,
                                                 making life complete,
                                              the driving force is loving
                                              needed for peaceful living.

the wind was roaring
an open road forever-
           trees a blur of green

My brother brought him home for supper one day,
I recall it was a beautiful warm day in the month of May.

I hung on the back of his powerful motorcycle, happiness
Oh, this was love! I had never felt such joy- in my young heart

He was everything that my parents hated
Rough, streetwise, a real bad boy, reckless
To me he was a guy that God himself created
He left me breathless and my memory is endless
But a life with him would have been dumb and careless

One resolution
Smart measure, full screen intake
Trinity means love.

From morn till night, light
Soft potent gems beckon us
Main ingredient, love.

Nutrition is gem
Light, airy rejuvenates
Strong ever ready.

Old friend is light weight
As jogger I'll glide through air
Steel stole feather's joy.

I feel glow of light
Frame pictures of healing light
Silent New Year's gift.

A heavy laden gut
The weight of a heavy heart
All time thief of our joy.

Each crescent moon rewinds time’s notes
and sweeps me back to our blessed haven
where long has stayed my peaked presence.
I would love to be back in our cozy cabin
where we grew magical feelings of happy.

All of our shared yesterday seconds
were love expressed while money distressed
and both such ways were my life’s best days.
We could barely afford a potty when on our
first anniversary you wrapped a Scottie puppy
inside an old jalopy that was red bow capped.
A car some might call shoddy mapped our
love in endless feelings of freedom's happy.

Tonight’s moon knows our fiftieth anniversary
soon comes, it poses then my life will be done
and with Scottie, you will greet me in our old jalopy.
I have long prayed to regain our embracing love
within Heaven's divine feelings of happy.

LIFE AND LOVE - double

the stockyards
a hoard of brown steers streaming
such trusting innocence
this outrage in the dust
i want to cry

then this

love moment
a fated brown beast
catches my eye

*Yesterday an eighty-six-year-old priest was decapitated inside his church
in Normandy, France by two terrorists.
I dedicate this Etheree to his memory. God help us all to find a way to live in peace! RIP noble priest!
