indistinct chatter
sweeps through my mind
like wind through trees
in winter's high pitched shrills
as memories twirl
in a spiral of thoughts

my heart pauses
beneath fragments
of shrouded warmth
once found in love
and this diminishing sun

where rains have come
between winded breaths
