Cousin Tallie

My cousin Tallie
was a real-life
award winning
beauty queen
from age six to eighteen

The kind who seems
a cardboard cut-out
Southern stereotype
all big hair and hype
manicured nails and
well arranged...
assets
but in reality
there was much more to Tallie

Her favorite movie
was Fried Green Tomatoes
and as far as movies go
it was good
but I never understood
until much later
why she loved it so

At first I thought
she was obsessed with the dish
she just 'had to try' fried green tomatoes
with fried catfish...
But it was actually
more about “Towanda!”
the primal, female battle-cry

And there was something electrifying
heartbreaking and mystifying
in the way she had the nerve to
let loose
a hullabaloo
screaming “Towanda!”
without reserve
fully, freely
like a woman
on the very edge
with nothing left to lose
and that was true

Tallie'd been abused
but somehow
nobody chose to see that part
that she actually had
had a heart
that someone had torn apart
Now Tallie's a badass
with blue-green hair
and a hard edged manner
devil-may-care
she has a tattoo
for each person she held dear
far and near
dead and gone
and no one knows why
she's evasive, withdrawn
as they spew out their judgments
in-between their
slow Southern
matter-of-fact yawns

With all the details noticed
while picking her to pieces
how did they miss the moment
her innocence was taken
faith in mankind shaken
How the barefoot, crazy-haired Tallie
running free, suddenly
stopped entirely, sparkle gone
certain sadness in dark eyes
and full-grown
this woman appeared
world-wise

And while they wonder
who the father of her
latest offspring could be
I wonder where the
adorably incorrigible
little Tallie is-
that used to be

Premium Member Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly kisses on his head
On that beautiful, early morn,
Welcoming him into the world,
My adorably, sweet first-born.

Butterfly kisses on his neck.
He'd giggle at feathery touch.
Butterfly kisses told him that
His mama loved him very much.

All through his earliest childhood
We kept playing this happy game.
I gave him butterfly kisses
And he returned the very same.

Babies turn into teenagers
And a little kiss on the cheek
Was the most that he could manage
And was all that I dared to seek.

And then as he grew tall and older
Another claimed all his kisses.
He had forgotten all about
Our game of butterfly kisses.

The saddest time of all my life
When they told me my son had died.
Forgotten were butterfly kisses
In the million of tears I cried.

But when I'm tending my garden
A butterfly lands on my cheek.
I know that he has sent them
Those butterfly kisses I seek.

Cinderella Missing Her Shoe

Adorably cute
in my hand-tailored suit...
searching for my Cinderella missing her shoe;
among the prettiest faces, someone will stand out
with eyes that are somewhat blue...
and running into a handsomer guy,
it won't discourage her from finding her delight...
hiding behind others without the perfect alibi!

Come out of the loud crowd,
beautiful one...show every apparent charm:
the delicacy of your womanly gesture;
and I'll reach out in kindness,
to subdue the fears of your first encounter!
Come out of the dim shadows,
incredible one, and accept my dance...
a request from my eager lips;
think of where we'd be tomorrow indeed,
when everyone has left and we ecstatically breath!

All the glamorous girls on the dance floor,
drinking heavily and laughing hysterically,
can't be compared to you; and what I'm looking for
is not just another amazing beauty,
but that certain winkle of shyness and more ingenuity!
Be that Cinderella missing her shoe, looking straight at me;
letting me gently slip it on,
so that this tender moment can become reality...
before our memorable, romantic night is gone,
and we'll remember nothing more than fantasy!

Premium Member Ode To Petra

You are a Venus of beauty multiplying at night,
As your City Lights adorably carpet each mountain,
The moon smiles above you with its gleam so bright;
A breathtaking view which a repertoire cannot even contain
In admiration of your panorama springing like a fountain.

The sun rejoices each day upon your vast splendid arid ground,
As spectators stride along your cascading stream of gorges,
You enchantingly cradle them into your bosom blissfully around;
Your architectural stone-mountain range spectacularly astonishes,
You are a Rose City- all is agog with your carved stones in red roses.

Oh, Petra! You’re widely admired with your unique environment,
A treasure of the world, the Nabataeans’ magnificent masterpiece;
A haven of everyone’s dream to ride and walk on every pavement,
Catering sumptuous experience in lavish pleasure making all feel at peace,
And ‘tis ballad of mine isn’t even enough to laud your great wonder and grace.

Rongali Bihu

Rongali bihu

Rong cascading down
the days around April fifteenth
jotted over the almanac
(Rong bihu or Rongali bihu, the Assamese gala)
luring New Year for the Assamese peeps and their culture

Rong gleaned from Vishuvam - the Sanskrit word
Rong elucidates vernal equinox
Rong typifies joy
like lovers discreetly conclave in the cavern
when two bodies melded with one soul
Rong caught a whiff of fresh kopou phool perfume - Foxtail Orchid or Dove Flower
Rong is humble abode of the shameless parasites Cuckoo
enduring the rythym of Assamese peeps and their culture

Rong is the dance of life
Rong is the food celebration
Rong is the offspring of love and happiness

#and in background, I can hear my beloved 80's hit song - 'O Xun Toradoi Nasaba Morom Lagakoi' (O My Dear Beloved Don't Stare Adorably) ...

Princess - a Sparking Beam Lighting My World

Filling the blank space of the heart hey my oxygen of love You braced the sand near the shore with an enriched almond in my life,
Oh my damsel !! Stupendously You are my love!!

Dipping in the soul of your's, relishing with the bunch of Jasmine,efflorescence is flushing on my way,
Oh my Queen !! Universally You vanquished my heart!!

Aster of my life,blooming Rose, alluringly captured the entire morsel occupying with an astounding charm of your's,
Oh my babes !! My lucid crystal,You shines forever!!

Heuristically resolved my problems filling with the stiff breeze unwrapping the emotions of love,
Oh my angel !! Happily You wrote the fairy-tale of my life!!

Near the samui bay, as like a relation between kit and boodle you spinned the petals of my life,
Oh my princess!! Drooping in your eyes I felt daunted!!

Implanting your waving leaves on my heart, melancholically removing the sad ness of my life,
Oh my lady !! zingels rangged in my refracting prism of soul!!

My starlit darkness is been flared up as if You are the brazen periwinkles balancing my world,
Oh my Pearl !! Lying in your shell of clam, Oysterically I Would love to clump throughout for all season!!

Adorably my dame-chick had gleefully connected me with every piece of my soul lusciously vibrating me,
Oh my doll !! Mirthfully You hit my heart a million times & blithely the spirit of yours made me solve the entire puzzle of life!!

Uh-Oh I Think Im Falling For You

Uh-Oh, I think im falling for you,
the way your lips are always turned upwards in a smile,
how you can make me blush without even meaning to.
I think Im in love,
with the way my heart races when you come near me.

Uh-oh, I think Im falling for you,
how everytime I have to leave,
you hesitate just a second.
i think Im in love,
with they way you hung around whenever you could.

Uh-oh, I think Im falling for you,
the way you speak french, and I have no idea how to repeat,
the way you failed so adorably at speaking my language.
I think im in love,
and im scared you'll beak my heart.

uh-oh, I think im falling for you,
But are you who you say you are?
are you going to take my heart and crush it cuz you can?
I think Im in love,
But Im too scared to admit it...

*stupid teenage drama. why couldnt life be full of happy endings? :'(

Reprehensible Savagery

Reprehensible Savagery ©

'Pon reading tragic headline...,
     aye experienced grief alone,
no matter the killer (Chris Watts,
     thirty-three years
     of Frederick, Colorado) unknown
     to me, the sheer brutality,
     whereat he killed Shanann Watts,
     Bella and Celeste,

     his once adorably beautiful,
     now ceased wife
     and daughters ages thirty four,
     four, and three respectively
     (purportedly via strangulation)
     reflexively did i groan
particularly, the propensity to kill
     with in sinew weighted bone

times gone by,
     where expletive laced epithets
     incessantly did drone
nearly activating trip wires,
     a blood dripping knife,
     would be shown
to police, unless...I took my life,
     cuz immediate regret would well up

     resulting with an agonizing moan...
hence after perusing morbid
     (somewhat inexplicably fascinating)
     screaming tragedy ado
admit sadness overtook this chap,
     what wrought motive,
     (albeit premeditated)
     for him to construe

such an atrocious, ferocious,
     heinous, et cetera grew
some crime toward innocent wife
     (she supposedly knew)
intuitively felt and possibly
     foresaw the slew
how her life (a grotesque
     mass square aid )

would meet one gross violent death
intimating marriage frayed
ranking as "FAKE,"
     or Eff for failing grade
yet tidbits publicized twas shaky match
     from get go, no heaven made
nor wedded bliss -
     her precious life paid

as well two preschoolers
     (cute as a button),
and expectant third progeny (male fetus)
existence extinguished by, "killer"
     the husband, who went
     into a deadly tie raid
now guilt upon
     his conscious heavily weighed.

Seven For Chaos and Order- the Inseparable

 The Inseparable Chaos and Order

I love being a confusing clutter.. caring not to cure it;
Cutting off the classic for the colour- filled chaos;
I am the craft of being creative in my own chaotic way;
The nature of Nature itself, is curved towards chaos;

But the orderly order is so amazing, I always awe and envy;
Often achieved and obtained by the most honoured;
Adorably astute to always accept me even amidst all my inadequacies.

Premium Member Santa Hits the Snooze Button

That was an extraordinary Christmas for Santa Claus,
his twentyfifth year of wintry journey without any pause.
He decided to make it a special celebration of gifting on his part
to the children adorably unique presents, he’d carry in the cart.

In colorful foils he packed with care the gifts through the night,
loaded them on the sleigh until the dawn’s first sunlight.
As on downy snow-laid track the reindeer led by Rudolf charged,
the chilling wind hit his face, made him aware he was so tired.

He spotted a bench under a tree while crossing the sunny park,
thought he deserved some rest after the night’s hard work.
He knew he would find ahead no other better place to choose,
so, he slumped on the bench, and soon slipped into snooze.

Rudolph heard loud sound, didn't know it was Nick's snoring bout,
got scared of the danger looming large, she had no doubt.
With loaded sleigh the reindeer ran away as fast they could,
leaving tired Santa to enjoy the frozen sleep in the wood.

At sharp sound of cracking trees under the burden of snow,
when he woke up fazed, reality to his senses came a bit slow.
On the trail engraved in snow he ran, caught the fleeing reindeer.
He was sure when he gave the gifts, him the children would endear.

The Auburn Lady and the Blue Night

Auburn lady envious of the blue night with its gleaming, capturing stars;
those rare diamonds, belonging to the silent and vast Universe,
you've stolen to adorn your undulating hair,
brushed by the July's harebrained breeze,
so temptingly soft and adorably fair;
if no admirer or lover seeks you, can I offer you my first dance?
Your melancholic look is fixed downward,
and you refuse to look above, nothing excites you tonight;
your external beauty cannot be resisted or ignored,
and will an harlequin, in his vividly colored costume, make you smile?
I'll play the flute brightly and make him dance to cheer you with his wit...
until your sadness leaves no sign on that sad face!

The shrill sound of the crickets can darken your spirit; listen closely, auburn lady...
sing along with the blue night, while your musical tones become the chords of my harmony!

Premium Member Just For You

I sing a song to you baby of mine.
You’re dreaming of adorably sweet things.
You safely rest on soft clouds as you lie,
And angels hold you in their feathered wings.

You’re new from Heaven and still have the scent
That you have carried down to Earth to share.
I wish you could speak of stories you know
Of folks we loved who now await us there.

My darling, in my arms you’re warm and safe.
We rock slowly to a sweet melody.
I’m so grateful to God that you’re the one
He has so lovingly chosen for me.

You will soon wake to find Mommy is near.
Sleep little baby with nothing to fear.
