Ugly Praise

O POVERTY!
You who paid a courtesy call to that peacefull affluence home
With a diamond portfolio
And at your departure enquiry unveiled it a Pandora's box
That the son turned rebel against the father
And the daughter hearken no more to mother's rebuke
O poverty!
You, who dragged that man of irrationality to the court of nature,
And there in gave him an ignoble defeat.
O poverty!
You apprehended that woman of extravagancy tortured her
And taught her the lesson of frugality
O poverty!
Your fruit is sour, insipid and intoxicating.
The man who live by it for long jeopardizes his span
O poverty!
He who accommodates you accommodates sorrow
He who embraces you beckons doom
O poverty!
You, who vandalize a whole land without a nuclear explosion
And pour water of tears onto that healthy face
Having robed off her hope.
O poverty!
You silenced that wise retched man in the gathering of the intellectual
And gave that rich fool the privilege of giberish.
O poverty!
You, who strikes your victim with a sword of broken heart,
The one who compete a path with you mocks his life
For no offence in calling you one of the sibblings of death.

The Good Ship Dreamtime

This is the good ship Dreamtime
And she sets sail every night
Weighing anchor for her cruise
With the fading of the light.
Her passengers are all dreaming
That they are all still awake
Suffering from insomnia and waiting
For the arrival of daybreak.
Her crew are all phantoms
Spirits of the sleeping brain
Watching carefully over
Those on this ethereal main.

There are screams and moans
And some of them quietly weep
As they journey through the night
None realising they are asleep.
She drops anchor to disembark
Just before breaking dawn
Transporting the travellers home
To their own bed early each morn.
Where they awake exhausted
For each of them still think
All through that long long night
They’ve not slept a single wink.

The good ship Dreamtime then
Fades quietly from their sight
Until the next dusk when She’ll
Reappear to cruise another night.
Every night She cruises
Answering their call
And no matter how many ask
She accommodates them all.
She is the good ship Dreamtime
Who, in her own special way,
Helps sleeping insomniacs turn
Each sleepless night into day.

REMEMBERING

Age sedates the imperfections of youth
excuses passions and
accommodates inexperience
Yet we heap glory on the culture
of their newly discovered experiments.
Often we tremble to see them go astray
biting away at civilized norms.
But when they reflect our dreams
of hedonistic excesses we smile
and wonder how to recapture the fire
that now simmers; a burnt out ember
of a flaming heart.

Senses of My Summer Play

I have swept the sidewalk and watered the flowers- the yard is perfect you see
Afforded the time to swing in the rocker and drink southern sweet tea
As I sip from my favorite old fruit jar- a steady northern breeze accommodates
My thoughts wonders back to recall the best remembered days-
of youthful summer s gone by
What precious memories to an old man like me- whose senses have dulled – now denied
I gladly endure and believe in the best of cures- the wonders and joys of youthful age
So I will tell you heartedly what cannot be forgotten- senses of my summer youthful play
The sting of my palm while playing catch with my older brother-
who died when I was thirteen
Or the flicker of lighting bugs caught in a Mason fruit jar –imaginative fairy queens
A croaking daddy bullfrog while fishing on Pine Lake – just Tom, Dad and me
The earthy aroma of freshly cut grass before playing ball at the little league
The sweet watery meat of a stolen watermelon-the farmer knew it was me
A dip in Pear Creek wearing nothing at all- with a summer’s kiss from Mary Ann-
- when I was fifteen
Playing pirates and Tarzan in the back yard- under the laughing- weeping willow tree
Or the July Ozark Mountain visits to grandmother’s house - I still believe she loved best- only me
The carefree rides- wind in my face- on my new Schwinn bike with my best bud Steve
The mournful tears as I watched Old Yeller- when I thought I was too old to cry
I will stop for now- there are reddish clouds with filtered flashlight beams filling a dusking night
For it’s time to eat my bread and wash for bed- I hope my dear wife will not be snoring tonight

Peter the Artist

Moments inscribed by thy heart and mine
Slowly dissolving by the passing of time
Ululating false to our tailored truths
Paving way for decaying shoes

You seek for balance and I fancy peace
A contradiction to my restless ease
Un-reflecting love in the midst of your eyes
But nothing defeats the power of denial

I gravitate to morbid fascination
Nothing less than your voluptuous facaad
That convicts me in a mental facility
Which accommodates my gorious rhapsody

We've become a retinue my shadow and I
To your mysterious adventures you'd left behind
I still see thee as my moon and stars
But do free me soon from these prison bars

You are a breeze of the ocean on a Summer's day
If not carols on a Christmas day
Perhaps affection to a heart tormented by dismay
Peter, loving you was not a mistake
...just a gentle kiss to compose my quake

I Am Fear

I AM FEAR.
I am fear,
The chair without legs,
I am fear
Carrying a dry chest
With bold inscription of
Neglect.
I am fear
Darkness and regrets friend,
I have slept in my shameless
Shell,
As I heard
Hell never smells,
What will be my rent if
She swells
Like the balloons head?
Inside is full of sweat
Still, I can't take a step,
I missed the gentle air
Following towards excel,
Should I spank myself
Or who do I tell that I fear
Even before taste?
As you calculate, those
Outside speculate,
Many would insinuate that
Your date would eventually
Fail.
I let them say cause
There heart is a cage
Who accommodates permanent
Stains.

Those are not the scent of roses in the breeze.
It is more like the smell of aged provolone cheese.
It wavers along with some olive oil and oregano.
Those are some scents I already know.

Who is lurking nearby do I suppose?
It is none other than my dear Hoagie-nose!
She is a woman I can’t possibly forget.
Everywhere she follows me this Italian coquette.
This ragazza has a kiss as sweet as anisette.

This little woman always accommodates a man.
That’s why she drives around in a mini van.
She makes sure the fellow is nice and comfy
in the back of her Chrysler Town and Country.
There was a valuable lesson I would learn.
The flames of passion gave me a third-degree burn.
We crossed the Rubicon to the point of no return.

My Hoagie-nose and I will tie the knot in June.
We will be joining forces around the rise of the full moon.
Yes, this little Italian doll is the one I must choose.
Her daddy made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Community

I belong to the local community
The loving home where local hearts belongs
I belong to the rich soil of the planet earth
The soil that accommodates the less privileged
It is the soil that proudly conquers every land
Soil where seeds are proud to crack out and shine

I am the daughter of the local community
The water proof of every leakage above
It is the sand soil that builds quality homes for orphans
The clay that visualise the creative minds and bring them to exposure
The cloud that rains down the drops of hope to the hopeless

Communication is the main subject to my community
Local comments are the pillars that support its empire
Communion is their strength to carry on
They intends to be communist in every battle
In their policing forum Justice is their main priority to put safety first
Community is the place where wishers become reachers of the riches
Where bitter hearts feel better when they arrive home
Because is the only foundation of the place called home
Together we can! The meaningful slogan for my community
Amandla! Awethu! The powerful words that fought for peace
Nkosi sikelela! A song for peace that protected the community and make it united forever!
Wathinta’umfazi wathinta’imbokodo! The strength of the local woman who sacrificed to build a better society for all
Siyayiqoba! And indeed we can beat it to become the over comers among other communities
Vuku’zenzele! Our pride ability to give back to our best community
The community that brewed our own democratic rights
Freedom and ability to achieve more are bred in our local soil
To become the reality of what local people are born for
I am proud of my own community where I suckled the milk of batho Pele
The pillars that hold the weakness of every household
I am proud to be born in the local community

Community where criminals are sons and daughters of our own soil
A community that always find a way to call those criminals the illustrations to demonstrate the ability of justice for all
Home where mobs are craving to attack yet minimised to eradicate the spirit of taking law into our own hands
A place where Mzansi bios kops are hosted to expose the true talents of our local hearts

Jellyfish

Here comes our man with briefcase swinging.

Has an opinion on every currency topic.

Likes to discuss issues with a passion.

Words can be bent broken and hyphenated.

Yesterday hello fort on option A.

Today hears about option band.

Embraces it as if it was a diamond.

Tomorrow it’s option C for sale.

A jellyfish that bobs and weaves with every ripple.

Who knows where it stands or swings.

It all depends on where the wind is blowing.

Accommodates itself to every passing blowing whim.

Mr jellyfish floats through like a pirate.

Is not the owner of his opinions.

Plucks them from his neighbours.

And retails them in original packages.

Take pity on our man.

Who runs away from his own thoughts.

Leads a secondhand existence.

The object of derision and or scorn.

Leaking pontoon predicts my departure
Impatient yacht chases nautical next
Mislaid terrain erases my history

Grim authorities in obvious places patrol
Timidity prescribes aghast of tranquil abiding
Windwaken, I'm admiring the Sea of Revolt

Remarked upon in wonder, venture presents
Treasure indiscernible beneath tumbled tumult
Bold abandon condoned by bow of rationale

Faithful lungs serenade the speed of sails inflated
Turning back causes hair whipped vision to opaque
Potential's yell propels me from return's persistence

Society's twine allured by Twitter lunacy
My social media expels expiring bubbles
Sunk with rusty ruins of past governing

Continents are considered impediments
Ballast beckons ocean of observation
Jubilation journeys my adjournment

Angels guide navigation wide eyed
Fleeing seabirds call for recognition
Wave over waves of sweeping search

Unlikely dream festered in slumber of time
Shaken awake by inspiration's finger nails
Carries message of necessary momentum

Voyage for knowledge graces me
Extremeties are empty, planets drift
Virgin space accommodates galaxies

Ninety-seven percent of all U.S. currency
Contains a trace amount of cocaine
Sniffing your George Washington's every day
Causes a mellowing of the brain

If we were able to live on Planet Mercury
Each year is only 88 days there
Well holy kadoodle, at that astounding rate
I'd be 300 and still have my hair

The world record for the most babies born
By one woman is sixty-nine
My guess is she was perpetually pregnant
Imagine all the washing on her line

They say a broken clock is always right
A couple of times every day
If you're having trouble figuring that one out
You should seek some help I'd say

The G in “g-string” that those dancers wear
Stands for “groin” I've heard it said
But if a dancer weighs over 300 pounds
It would stand for “gross” instead

Way back when, nagging wives were punished
By being forced to wear a bridle
Think I'll refrain from commenting here
For fear of serious reprisals

The male praying mantis cannot copulate
While it's head is still attached
So the female accommodates by ripping it off
So much for a possible rematch

Although they may not want to admit it
Women fart as much as men
But they fart in a much more ladylike fashion
And never lift their leg or bend

Ode To Ouster Order At Home of Imperiality

gale to bluster, sleet to bluster, worst whacked are hobos around huts cluster.

nowhere to doss, tempest to toss, yet another sucker punch sweeps across.

with big boot to field, with big stick to wield, arrogative hosts of imperial capital always have big deal to yield,

so august the majestic center, so wretched the lowborn hobos, ouster order seems to get it best addressed,

with wish we roil, for wish we toil, how come repayment of repellence proves us a foil to the soil sordidly steeled?

humanity they tread, hostility they breed, how bleak it is to plead for the creed they've professed!

empty as the firmament is, vast as the earth, no habitat for us o'er the horizon strides caste chasm.

much as we wail, much as public opinion vociferates, the sacrament highest held hails from their behest.

astray our kith and kin adrift our kismet, ashtray accommodates our enthusiasm, echoes with their gleeful spasm.

ouster order, peremptory, outrageous, sledgehammer; its wide-ranging aftermath ne'er to be redressed.

Clouded Thoughts

Around my mind a linger of her existence plies, I'm evoked
An expression of joy my face accommodates, simply on this note
A thought of you causes my heart to skip a beat, beautiful like jazz
Not the voodoo though but I still feel locked up like I'm in Alcatraz
A good thing because it aids in appreciating your absence when I'm alone
Missing you hurts more than when I broke my clavicle bone
I love you too much to consciously inflict on you pain
Done it in the past but in His grace, never again
Maybe you the best thing that happened to me, maybe you not
Not to sound cheesy but to complete the rhyme, you are hot
Sometimes having you still seems kind of surreal
Want to experience with you the culture of Brazil
Like the sands of time, my love for you seems endless
Some of my dreams instigates we one day share address
You defined 'love' to me and redefined the essence of life
I'm convinced but I'd wait till time evinces you are my wife
