Premium Member Beautiful

Baby birds on a branch, musically twittering,
Evening sunsets and dawns radiant and wonderful;
Animals, great and small, all these are so fascinating,
Utterly lovely is a forest draped in tangled vines graceful.
To me, all these things are divine, sublime and so alluring,
Incredible, exquisite things inspire me to write poems delightful;
Family stories told by elders, in the night with candlelight flickering,
Until the end of time, I will write of these things that make life colorful.
Lovely scenes of creatures grazing and horses in a meadow, free and running,
Light upon my garden flowers, snowflakes falling and all things, oh so beautiful.

I believed I saw you
at the top
of Carteret Street
Beloved*
But it wasn't you
Just the inspiration of you

I thought I saw you
at the end
of Ocean Avenue
Chinaski*
But it wasn't you
Just a whiff of you

I walked to Liberty Park
And I saw you
In a ray of sunlight
Bandini*
But it wasn't you
Just a shadow of you

I thought I saw you
On the boat
With your laughing eyes
Manolin*
But it wasn't you
Just the sea
that remembered you

And there at last
I saw you
My Little Prince*
on your cloud-tree
This time it's safe
I see you

Aby M.

Premium Member New Beginnings

Natalia’s expecting her very first child
Early morning sickness thankfully it is mild
When feeling first kick, husband and wife smiled

Baby names chosen for girls and boys
Eager friends buy clothing and soft toys
Great excitement at Natalia’s due date
Isaac and Natalia simply cannot wait
No sign of contractions, the time drags by
Next day labor and baby gives a hearty cry
Incredible joy when they take baby home
Now life’s complete with their son Jerome
Getting into routine, they’re finding it strange
Sleep deprivation – both hope that will change!

Getting to say it
In this real life
Even if we said it

To each other
Without saying it
 To each other

While saying it
To each other.

Premium Member Golden Lady

Golden Lady

When I was little my mother used to tell me...
Life is not a novel
I chose life as a theater
When I was little my father always told me...
Take it easy
I ran headlong into life
Free like a river...

The present of the moment
Or the moment of the present...

When I was baby my mummy used to sing to me...
Ayo néné...
Touti Néné...
And I sang it when I became mother myself
When I was a baby my daddy used to sing to me...
You are the sunshine of my life...
And I forgot it

The gift of the present
Or the moment of the past...

When I came to New York...
People called me Golden Lady
And looking for Golden Lady...
I found a Stevie Wonder song

When I was little I called my Grandpa'Thanks...
And in my little voice I'd tell him
I just call to say I love youuu...
And I'd hang up

For a moment in the present
Forgotten in the future...

Thanks New York
That brings back wonderful memories of childhood

Oops ! I forget my Grandma'Ola

She cried
All the tears
Of her body
Of his heart
Of her mind
Until
Only his soul
Can reveal herself
Can transform himself
In the flood of the Nile

This is the way it is
That flew away
The first Imperial Aquila
Lonely
Heavenly
Invisibly
In search of fourteen pieces
Stolen
Scattered
Dismembered

Of her Love

My Loving Anguish

My Selfishness is not Egocentric
It is not even Acidic
Though it makes me Agonistic
For It is the mere Lyrics
Of our Love, so Apostolic!

Till the end of Times,
I will be singing the Rhymes
For I will be seeing in Dreamtimes
You and Me so in love with our Pastimes
That we have been playing in all our Lifetimes.

What would life be without this Anguish
To molest your Nose is such an Accomplish
But to molest your Heart is even more Fairish
Alone in your Cave you may pretend to be Ogrish
When in fact you are yearning to be Actorish
Let go of all your Freakish, Roughish and Toughish
Be Vampirish!
I am yearning to be Your Relish

Faith you Personify,
So be the Handsome King of the Sky
The One who will Mystify
The whole Creation
With His Proclamation
Of being King of the Korai!
Meanwhile, I will be the Aby
Suffering for Redemption,
Praying for Salvation,
To be Appeased for my Sin
That of having been your Sin,
Yes, you, the unkown Djin!
All I did was to be naked in your Bed
To please you with my stubborn Head
Does that make me an Egghead?

Contest : First love poem
Contest to be judged by : Poet Destroyer
About the poem :
It is about the love of a girl for a guy whom she sees as a God, she loves him so much. And her love is selfish, she wants him at any cost. She was naked in his bed, that made her sinful, she later managed to molest his nose and now wishes to molest his heart. :)
