A Billion Soul Mates

A Billion Soul Mates
By Rick Rucker

I don’t think that there’s one “soul mate,”
No more than there is a “perfect” date.

In searching for a match,
I easily found a glorious catch!

To say I love her, makes me a liar,
She simply set my Heart afire!

When I saw her, I felt Doom,
There she was, across the room,

I knew my Heart would not long last,
It would burn up very fast.

I saw her first, then she smiled,
Suddenly, my Heart went wild!

Her face was like a Vermeer painting,
Now, I was afraid of fainting!

I knew that I would fall in Love,
And said a prayer to those Above.

I was struck so hard by her beauty,
I forgot to do my “duty.”

In my hand, I held a rose,
But I was frozen, head to toes!

In front of me, the Love I seek,
Why can’t I get my tongue to speak?

Finally, with an effort heroic,
I tried to appear quite stoic,

And not drool all over her,
That we ate is still a blur,

The first thing that I recall,
When escaping from my thrall,

We were standing near her car,
The best date I’d had, by far.

As I watched her car leave,
‘Twas then that I began to grieve.

I knew I’d made the date a mess,
What she thought, I could only guess.

Driving home, I thought it through,
And decided what I’d do,

I’d not call her, in that way,
I wouldn’t have to hear her say,

That she’d not see me more,
Which would drop me to the floor!

After an agonizing week,
I called her, and in a voice quite meek,

And asked on another date,
“Yes,” her answer, I can relate!

A dozen more have we had since then,
We’re planning on what happens when,

We’ve become more than each other’s friend,
And we will be together ‘til The End!

And so, I’m trying to let you see,
That if a common guy, like me

Can find his Love, with this few dates,
There must be a billion “soul mates”

For each one of us,
A dozen on the next bus!

If you’ve not found her, don’t despair,
She’s just around that corner, there!

Between a Million and a Billion Morning of Yesterday, There Is Only One For Today

Between a Million and a Billion Morning of Yesterday, There is Only One for Today

Those who does not enjoy today maybe there is no more time for them to do it tomorrow, and every mistakes that we have committed for the first time yesterday, we won’t want to repeat those today.
Life is so comparatively so enjoy every second to be always cheerful and positive, because a smile give more joy than tears.
Acceptance is the answer to many things and then go on with our life, because we are alone in many cases.
Even we are standing along, we should keep thinking optimistic because there always be good opportunities arrive to us after setbacks, a bad day does not meant that we will be lousy for the entire week, month, year or life.
Have incessant self-confidence with faith then all will be well again, there is no mountain too high, so we always have the way to get to the other side if we take the time.
Just look back into our own life, sometimes we’re moving abit forward or backward, but we still can make it to the end, there are plenty of other opportunities to use if we want to put our effort.
Today we can start again and put an end to the past, change our life by starting it right now, never waiting for something better as time wait for nobody.
Between a million and a billion morning of yesterday, there is only one for today and I would never want to let this day go by without telling You “never give up, there is always a solution for everything”, if we want to accept it, want to go search for it, or decide to give it up directly.

I wish you a healthy life.

Premium Member A Billion Colored Rain Drops

I'm falling, falling, up from my rage!
Words unwound in convoluted strings.
All my thoughts rejected by the page.

I am a lost bird with backward wings.
Trying hard to escape my restraints.
Words unwound in convoluted strings.

I look towards heaven and the saints.
Grasping for answers to set me free.
Trying hard to escape my restraints.

An upside down backwards symphony.
All those notes I wish to contain.
Grasping for answers to set me free.

Like a billion drops of colored rain.
Waiting to be absorbed by my pen.
All those notes I wish to contain.

I will never be the same again.
I'm falling, falling, up from my rage.
Waiting to be absorbed by my pen.
All my thoughts collected on the page.

A Billion Ponds
----------------

I came to the land of a billion ponds
where they said there would be (one day) a million more.
A billion ponds shimmered in sunsets;
lined up purposefully for my delight.

A billion birds or more perished on these ponds
and they made twilight unbearable for me,
these billion birds on the trillion million ponds.

So I went away from ponds - all of them - far from the million,
or was it a trillion - the numbers in my head...
I went away from them and all the birds
but tweet of them on Twitter to the millions, (who forget).

A Billion Butterfly's

If she was the sun then i must become the moon...
Shes the bullets 2 my gun my obsession i consume...
How can i hold my tongue you fill my stomach with cocoons...
A billion butterflies now my hearts an open wound...
I never understood how our hearts were so in-tune...
Cupid got me good sniper tactics with the zoom...
I wanna be your king the only title ill assume...
If loving you is pain then ill never be immune...
Suppressed the beast in me so easily ..like light dissolving gloom...
A flames forever great full just to know it evolved from fumes...
A door that never closes hides a portal that we never use...
She grew a rose inside my heart a place i thought could never bloom...
Present , Past and Afterlife...One day I shall become your groom..
The day that you become my wife your hearts forever shatter proof...
Passion everlasting burns and yearns for just 1 simple truth...
To see your heeart forever smile theres nothing else id rather do.....

One In a Billion

Eyes shift left and right filling,
With every one in a million,
Or should I say one in a billion?
Willing to believe in the odds,
That each of us were born with a purpose from God,
To be unique and one of a kind,
One spinning fantasy built on a fallacy,
That we are all individuals,
When we’re really residuals of line,
Stretching longer and stronger as time passes by,
As depressing as it sounds,
I’ve hit the ground,
Slam.
Open my eyes shifting left and right filling,
With one in a million or should I say a billion?
Maybe she’s willing to deliver me from rock bottom,
Throw me a rope for all is forgotten,
I see a sliver of hope in your smile.

Million Dollar Why Not a Billion Dollar

A million dollar does not go far
Now a billion dollar will be able to share
A poem that points to reality
With simple words that give
A point of view that does not sin
Without complications of understanding
A meaning of each star above
Point to the sky where all the planets are
A simple view to reach
Normal people can understand
A movement of modern ideas to bare
Kept only to millions now given to billions
A mass of proportion that eye can see
Baring the length of words that can cross
A land, the sky, and the barren sea
Words are hard to say but money does
A simple method that all have done
Giving to others when cannot
An obligation to our nations with trust
Knowing that this poem can reach feelings
A sharing method that we all have
Bound by our gifts with a dollar bill
A country can teach methods and skills
Most people in the world has hard times
A grieving heart is hard to heal
But just one out of billions is a shield
A hope of kindness a movement of ideals
Comes a moment, a test of wills
A certain people with humanity stand
Wall that is invisible protects the land
Almost done with all my words
What is a million compared to a billion
A document of silly distortion
Just say a billion it's reasonable
A modern symbol that we have changed
Billions of stars full of land and water
A chance in our future to expand
Why fight for more when more is out there
A simple thought, yet cannot understand
Our minds are set and we have met
A life of looking far beyond
Beyond the millions and billions of stars
And we have people here that are
Our hope and guide to make peace
A word from our star could be good
With words that could pause time
A moment that all people may see
That each and everyone’s worth
A million, no a billion dollars or stars
So this poem is just to say, hi! World
A word or two is all I can do
Because I hope I reached all of you
A message with love that is true

One In a Billion

Its hard for me to find the words to explain.
Everything that you've invested, tears, sweat, and the pain.
Your dedication is a small measure of your worth.
In my eyes, a better woman has never walked the earth.
Life hasn't been easy, yet you took it in stride.
Noone suffered such hardships, and yet you do it with pride.
You made miracles, even when it wasnt enough.
What else, if that doesn't define a mother's love?
Telling you now, if you don't know how important you are.
I'll go out on a limb, there's no distance too far.
Cause to put it simply, i owe you too much.
My respect, admiration, and unconditional love.
You are my beginning, my end.
You're every woman, you're my sister, my mother, and friend.
A search for you wouldn't turn up none in a million.
You're irreplaceable, mama, you're a one in a billion.

One In a Billion

one of a kind
rarity of a person
opinions that come real
integrity with a guarentee
mindful thoughts of inspiration
freight not of a unsecure nature
cause of just honor of a man
billon to one that it will come true
the possibility whats real activity
the opportunity of a person to
be the same is one in a billion

Premium Member A Billion Seconds

There's a billion seconds in thirty-one years
My libido's worn out right up to my ears
So I guess I must believe
Mind blowing to perceive
Cruising at 82 like someone kicked me in the rear

A Billion Light-Years in the Past

Star Light
Star bright
I look to you for the solution
Tonight
Are we the offspring of
Single-cell
Are viruses invading us
In Sedulous successions
Does evolution drive intelligence
Or does intelligence drive evolution
Star Light
I wonder how far away you are tonight
with the solution
A billion light-years in the past?

A Billion Ways To Say Three Little Words

A BILLION WAYS TO SAY THREE LITTLE WORDS

There must be so many ways to say the same exact thing
Like, take this offering I was commanded to deliver to you from the Spring
And in the summer I shall say “take these my sweet”
As daisies rise from the ground to bless the finesse of your feet

There must be thousands of adjectives and numerous nouns
More words than there are tidy and tiny towns
Now let me say this in a different way to you
you will never find words birthed anew
You will seek yet never find a new way of what to say
When it’s so loudly defined by a willingness to pray
Are you bold enough to promise vows that you will one day keep,
Or will they, such as a corpse, be buried six feet deep?

How shall I react when she says three words so small yet so sacrosanct to me

Will her lips form each syllable clearly so that I might understand and let it be?
Well where is she already with her supposed proposal billions before have done and said?
Instead of my beloved the minister meandered closer and whispered the three wrong words, “your fiancé’s dead”

One In a Billion

one in a billion

you’re one in a billion
you’re very unique
a treasure to know
a diamond to seek

see with the eyes
that came with your birth
it’s not what a magazine
tells you you’re worth

you’re one that matters
who has a great fate,
it’s your own perfect being
walking through your gate

it’s not what someone says,
that you are or that you’re not
any changes you make
is for your being most sought

each of us is a gift
that belongs to the whole
like a puzzle makes a picture
together, is our magic to unfold

Premium Member If I had a billion dollars

not a piddly million,
I would buy myself
a ticket to your concert,
and blast back to the past
of 1999

dance dirty feet
in the grass
to one my favorite songs:
‘If had a Million
Dollars’
to The Bare Naked Ladies

in a long wraparound
silk skirt, hair down,
and smiling like a fool

If had a billion dollars
I'd buy myself
a thick slice peace of mind
and a thinner cut of blueberry pie
alamode

If I had a billion dollars
I would buy bright green
running sneakers,
kick back and sprint!

to the year that I decided
that I would keep you around

longer than the day
the pumpkins were ripe
for picking

our dog, Mama,
was still alive
and the air was full
of cinnamon
and spiced possibility

A billion dollars
and a time machine
could make it happen!

If I had a billion dollars
"I'd buy your love!"
