If I had a billion dollars

not a piddly million,
I would buy myself
a ticket to your concert,
and blast back to the past
of 1999

dance dirty feet
in the grass
to one my favorite songs:
‘If had a Million
Dollars’
to The Bare Naked Ladies

in a long wraparound
silk skirt, hair down,
and smiling like a fool

If had a billion dollars
I'd buy myself
a thick slice peace of mind
and a thinner cut of blueberry pie
alamode

If I had a billion dollars
I would buy bright green
running sneakers,
kick back and sprint!

to the year that I decided
that I would keep you around

longer than the day
the pumpkins were ripe
for picking

our dog, Mama,
was still alive
and the air was full
of cinnamon
and spiced possibility

A billion dollars
and a time machine
could make it happen!

If I had a billion dollars
"I'd buy your love!"
