Premium Member My Thoughts On Psalm 23

Beside the still waters he leadeth me
Shepherd of my wandering soul
I do not want for anything, you see,
My shepherd has made me whole.

I have walked the treacherous path
But I did not need to be afraid
The rod and staff my shepherd hath
I can lie down in both sun and shade.

When I am tired and, oh, so weary
He renews my spirit, replenishing,
Restoring my spirit when I am dreary
Goodness and mercy are my finishing.

I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
And drink of the living water of life
The shepherd gives to all his adored
Who seek peace and flee from strife.

Premium Member 12-31-23: A Number's Existential Crisis

'Twas the twilight of the year
     a twinkling tiara.
December 31st, digits dancing dunes
     in the Sahara.
One, two, three, one, two, three,
     it's a prance.
A numerical Irish step dance
     given a whimsical chance.

In the calendar's corners,
      a magical mystery unfurls.
As the date spins and swirls
     like a jester's jingling twirls.
One, two, three, one, two, three,
     in a line.
A date so divine,
     it deserves its own shrine
          so fine!

But wait, what's this? A satirical twist!
The date's just a number
     it doesn't exist!
One, two, three, one, two, three,
     what's the fuss?
Wait… all dates are human-
     created
          YES, by us!

The numbers are shocked
     feeling quite superfluous.
In the grand scheme of things
     oh so ridiculous!

So here's to the New Year
     let's raise a toast.
To the date that we've come
     to boast the most.
With champagne that sparkles
     and tastes like the sun.
2023 is yet undone
     run from the old
          to the new one,
               run, run, run!

In the canon of the digits
     a lesson we see.
Time is a construct
     as fluid as the sea.
So let's celebrate the moments
     both big and small.
For, in the end
     they're the most
          precious of all.

Napoleon Bonaparte
1769 Corsica is where he got his start
One of the greatest commanders in history
His manner of death a 200-year-old mystery

Napoleon played it close to the vest
With his armies he was always the best
But 'twas nothing he could do
When he met his Waterloo
Lived his last few years under house arrest

Napoleon drank the water and headed for the loo
He did nothing different than you or I could ever do
Be kind to your skin and protect your bone-a-parts
Remember that's where good hygiene starts!

Premium Member Psalm 23 - Modern Version

The Lord is my Poet
I shall not fret

He notes me down in white sheets of paper
He rhymes my life at all times

He holds the pen
He writes a new song in my heart
For His glory's sake

Yea, though I go through the
valley of the shadow of blankness
I will not be afraid
For You are with me,
Your pen and Your ink, they comfort me

You prepare a poem for me
in the presence of my friends
You anoint my head with ink;
My paper runs over,

Surely lyrics and songs shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will be held in the hand of the Lord
Forever

Premium Member My Rendition of Psalm 23

The Lord’s my shepherd, my soul He doth keep,
I shall not want, for I’m His well-fed sheep,

In green pastures, He makes me to lie down,
Leads me beside still waters of renown,

My soul He restores, protects and feeds me,
In the paths of righteousness, He leads me,

Yea, though I walk through the valley of death,
I’ll fear no evil, for You hold my breath,

You’re ever with me, Your love makes me whole
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort my soul,

You set a table for me midst my foes,
You anoint my head, my cup overflows,

Goodness and mercy will sure follow me,
I’ll dwell in God’s house for eternity.

Before the Gates of Alahsar - Version - 2 - 23

Chapter..........1..........Part..........2..........3b.

The mounted riders,
they speed forwards,
Turvehr did kick with heaven's power,
his mighty horn tearing and rending,
His eyes,
afire with hates desire,
his coat,
it did shine like the raven's wing,
when kissed by Sol.
He was the destroyer of the evil fire,
to rend,
this was his work this day,
his heart a living flame,
pure hatred was his song,
to kick, toss and tear,
this would be his killing way.

Turvehr was a terror,
a light destroying the dark,
his horn now caked in bloody gore,
hatred ruled the battlefield this day,
great indeed was his majesty,
the glory of a darkened dawn.
Women watching,
cried out with fear,
when e'er an enemy came to near,
for love indeed, this day was born,
for Turvehr,
the king of the Unicorn.

Alahsar still had her gates,
mortal men,
their lives, they did lay down,
numbers falling,
Demons they did crawl,
The end of humanity? Dark hearts filled with hate.
From the gates a mighty moving,
womanhood coming forth with great haste,
Hate-filled eyes and voices of venom,
yelling out thunder as they come forth.

Now, into two groups,
these shield maidens do split,
one group heads for the Dunlaven bridge,
the other group, the fight on Badicha,
still, the foe seemed many more.
the Arlaghs ever to the fore,
a mighty foe begins to push,
the might of dark within each beast,
to hold this foe,
it would take mighty strength,
yet, strength was failing,
the Arlaghs, then, did mighty push.

Then to human dismay,
upon the left flank,
spiders, wolfs and their riders attack,
from the trees they come,
Arlaghs, they also come with this attack,
the cavalry on the left flank,
they are taken by complete surprise,
horses scream in fear as they begin to fall.
riders also crying out, as they die this day,
some shall lie on the bloody plain,
others within the bellies of flesh-eating enemies,
on seeing this, the women warriors hurry forth,
no order had the golden king given,
they had come,
against all orders.

Still, humans stand,
much blood does flow,
man and woman,
power did show,
children watching from on high,
as parents and friends slowly die,
Dark man fighting, vengeance dead,
the Tigress, she is spreading fear,
a bloody day for one and all,
"Blood For Blood," the mortal call.

To Be Continued.

Premium Member Your Heart In His Hands -Proverbs 23: 26

Listen well to your heavenly father
He speaks to you from heaven above
His best intentions He has for you
His words are always filled with love

The Lord is asking for your heart
for that’s where He wants to dwell
so from there to guide and direct you
on the right path away from road to hell

Look to Jesus your saviour and friend
watch always with your eyes to observe
everything that your saviour does and says
learn whatever happens to keep your nerve

God’s ways are full of wisdom and light
the master creator in all things to know
He knows the end from the beginning
do as He says then you’ll steadily grow

So keep your heart in His hands
always observing well His true way
keep in step with your saviour
follow on until your eternal day

(‘My son give me your heart and let your eyes observe my ways’.) Proverbs 23: 26

Heart Song 2-23-10

Sometimes you make it so hard to breathe,
the tears start to flow again and yet i can still see,
but your all that comes to my mind,
the look in your eyes,
flooding my vision, drowning my smell,
my heart beats faster and if i were to compell,
my heart would sing in rejoyce as long as i had you,
stealing with your words and kisses my voice,
and ill lay and croon so softly the words i love you,
your arms wrap around me and my breathing slows,
calming me from my panick, letting me know,
that your here with me, we're in this together,
and that you promise me, that youll love me forever,
daddy threatened to take you away,
baby, my love, what do you say?
you tell me that we'll be fine,
we'll make it through one day at a time,
you make me feel strong, like it will all get better,
my faith is in you, and my heart wont grow heavier,
one day soon our lips will meet again,
and we'll be together till the end,
we'll make this work, we have to try,
and if we fail, my love wont die,
for you my love will always be real,
it will live forever, and be solid as steel,
strong as dimonds, smooth as river rocks,
our love will live forever more in our hearts,
they wont stop us, though they can try,
we'll take it slow, our love might hide,
but it will always be there, and will always live on,
forever more, in our hearts song.

Incineration of Love God Madan (Cupid) 23
Originally written in Hindi by my late father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor
1899 to 1994. The work was written in Hindi somewhere around 1965-70.

Editing and English version by Ravindra K Kapoor.
Hindi Title ‘Madan Dahan’ 23

Rati* saw her husband burning,
In the fire of God,
In great panic, she ran to Him,
Terrified and trembling.

She prayed the three eyed,
She is becoming orphan,
The expanding fire would destroy all,
Including her beloved husband.

Prostrate at Shankar’s* feet’s,
With deflated pride and ego,
She murmured in weak voice,
To arouse His kindness.
