A lovely button pops out in the summer sun
pick her up and she will bring you luck
Walks along the beach, a seashell spun
by the silk of the ocean, a little red truck

Coconut sensation a radio pinned upon the ear
the sky is blue, the sea is foaming
Snapshot memories, eating lobster on the peer
bathing suit strap lowered, barefoot roaming

The day after, seagull dreams ocean connections
I stitch her to my heart and she feels just right
Clothed in her light she is a special recollection
of me finding a shiny button, ... at the beach.

her kisses taste like something dandy
such a sexy smile
her heels clicked she so dancey

skimpy bathing suit is perfect
what is a man lefted to do

Premium MemberAutumnal

Put away your bathing suit the dips in the pool are done
get the rake out of the garage, jumping in the leaves is fun.
The Halloween decorations include the ginormous spider;
exchange the ice-cold lemonade for hot apple cider.

The summers end raced tirelessly to the full autumn stop,
and the rain chills more with each pounding drop.
The heat of the sun fizzles out with each windy howl,
and the moon glared its face with an ice cold scowl.

Early fall boast trees with the most fiery bright hue
but time marches on colors become brown and gray stew.
Around the campfire people gather around and sing
as a church group leader strums his six strings.

Autumnal is the transition from summer to winter
Its weather patters are nestled in the center.

What a Woman Wants

“All a man really wants, is a girl who looks good in a bikini.”—Jack Freestone

All a “man” really wants is a “girl”
who looks good in a bikini?
All a woman wants is someone
who really doesn’t care, or is it
just to feel warm sea-side air
caress her chest instead of nylon
and play once again, summer child,
outside a body of which she’s too aware,
alive in movements unbound by eyes
and unweighted by prudish gravity,
to wade into the froth of waves breaking wild
around her, an improvised dance that swirls
in cadence to life’s rhythms, wise
to no man’s guile, unresponsive to his gambit.

The Swimsuit Issue

Martha’s* on the cover
Of a famous magazine,
Her cleavage in her bathing suit
Just waiting to be seen.

At 81 years old, she is
The oldest woman yet
To grace the swimsuit issue,
Posing like a young coquette.

I just don’t understand it, though –
What message is conveyed?
That age won’t hinder beauty
When it’s sexily displayed?

To me, that’s just obnoxious,
For a getting older perk
Is accepting that pretending
To be young just doesn’t work.

Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue.

Everyone Should Read My Poems

Take my each poem
then apply to everyone
may like to read them

when he liked to landscape
did cut down my each drape
then tried to escape

when (she)(he)(Jill)(Bill)(Jan)(Stan)(they) etc. would covet
instead of saying shove it
always did love it

When She (He) etc seem so cute
Would begin wearing bathing suit
While he(she) was a brute,
which was a tribute
cost a loot of loot
Instead of a being a bathing suit
with a horn that had to toot

when wearing a repellent
had been horribly hard to tell it
(she)(he) etc. was shot with a pellet

when it was above all(which way)
to call cards she was way to tall
how the (which way) dice (chips)(cards) will(did)(had to) fall
(game we had to call)
(dealer was a doll)
(always would appall)
(was seen in shower stall)

Poem Without a Boat In It

Do you remember that long-ago summer
Camping out down by the lake?
You, me, your sister, and my mother
And all of the memories we’d make?

Fishing, we found, was a pointless pursuit
For all that we managed to hook
Was the shoulder strap of your bathing suit
And I laughed at how silly it looked

Then I swore with a mock-vengeful note
That every last fish, I would catch ‘em
Someday in my very own fishing boat
And I’d call it Michelle’s Attachment

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about friendship
It’s that it takes two for smooth sailing
On our don’t-let-it-come-to-an-end ship
It’s the small things I find worth regaling

It’s been many years since that fateful day
When eleven-year-old me made that vow
And my non-existent boat, by the way
Still has your name on its bow.

Premium MemberMurder of the Innkeeper

Do you remember the night the Innkeeper’s body
Was found in the pond behind his B & B, Sherlock?
Of course, how could you forget? We were
Meeting him that afternoon for his opening tea!

I recall how we were questioned like common thugs
Because we were on the property, thus suspect,
But I had suspects of my own, though I kept quiet,
The police, however, showed us guests no respect!

You and I had no motive, no weapon, no animosity
After all, we were only the afternoon company,
But we knew his wife knew he was sleeping around
And his chef was so jealous!...and so contrary.

Then, there was the note no one shared with us,
So the Innkeeper could’ve decided to do himself in
After all, I was told he had debt out the ying-yang
At least he didn’t shoot himself after drinking gin.

You know I did not do it, and I know you’re innocent
But I am suspicious of her wearing a bathing suit,
And I’m told she had his wallet, credit cards and all
Now, she has the B & B up for a quick sale, to boot!

Premium MemberA Lady Called Lulu

There once was a fat lady called Lulu,
who liked to swim in the deep ocean blue;
in a bathing suit mini,
meant for a lady skinny;
one wave and her bikini went askew !

Premium MemberBehind Sunglasses

I was at a friend's pool after school.
She loaned me this impossibly tiny bathing suit
I looked at it skeptically but I didn’t ask whose it was.
It smelled faintly of chlorine.
we were supposed to be alone
her older brother came home
his eyes settled on my skin
like a wash of immediate sunburn
It was awkward and thrilling to be watched
I pretended not to notice
behind my sunglasses
I ignored him
My friend noticed. “Perv alert, let’s go in.” she said.
I didn’t want to go but I didn’t let it show.

Premium MemberSwimming In the Moonlight

When swimming in the moonlight
In a warm, secluded place
No need of a restricting bathing suit,
Since there’s no one else in sight
Relax and enjoy the solitude,
Bathed in soft glow of moonbeams
Meditate on nature’s finest gifts
And revel in your heart’s delight,
Not so often available, it seems
Take time to explore your dreams.

Premium MemberSeasons Impression

A few yellow leaves, diminutive bless.
The subtle birth of Fall— my eyes impress.
Verdant green—deep visual for my dreams.
The season’s frisk—Jack Frost snips at the seams.

Soon the froth of frisky leaves, everywhere.
          The flamboyant tango, showering flair.
               And oh…the burning Autumnal passion—
the sizes and shapes, bittersweet fashion.

I forget my bathing suit, bundle up,
          vigorously jump into loving cup
of apple cider, pumpkin pie and leaves.
Season’s change, cheeky-warm, with knitted sleeves.

Premium MemberWaffles

Waffles - Sunday night supper
Butter melting yellow in the
Crispy, tiny square pockets,
Sweet maple syrup and fat sausages,
Glow of lamplight flickering
On dining room window panes
And the warm glow of family
Gathered in happy chatter.

Waffles for breakfast with
Softened butter, cinnamon sugar,
Or strawberry jam, freshly made.
Morning-hungry family with
Plates proffered, everyone clamoring
For “more waffles, please,
And don’t forget the sausages!”
Bathing suit clad, stoking up
For a fun-filled day at the beach.

Waffles, the best comfort food,
Warm and oozing with sweetness
A counter for your misery
When you’re in bed with the measles
And can’t go outside to play.
Waffles hot from the iron
Or popped up from the toaster –
No matter, just keep them coming!

Premium MemberThe Book of Esther

Each time I see a swimming pool,
I think of you and smile.
Your breaststroke and your butterfly
Could dazzle and beguile.

You aced your screen test with Clark Gable.
Don’t be bashful, drop a line.
You had entanglements with Tarzan.
Come on in, the water’s fine.

You frolicked through the Aquacade,
So dangerous when wet.
Your million-dollar mermaid played
Queen Neptune on the set.

Fox claimed Sonja Henie’s fluid waltz across the ice.
MGM framed Esther Jane’s aquatic edelweiss.

Each time I see a swimming pool,
I think of you and smile.
A pin up in a bathing suit.
Van Johnson liked your style.
