Living With the Hard of Hearing

Hello can you hear me
Speaking louder is key
Make sure they see your lips
Talk slow and clear

TV is too loud
Barraged by too much sound
Silence cannot be achieved
Not even a thought can be perceived

Words misconceived
Offense received
Information missed
Miscommunication persist

Effects the young
Effects the old
Problem is ignored
Wishing their hearing was restored

Assistance they need
To help them succeed
As their hearing fades
Thankful for hearing aids

Feeling of Freedom

Clustered by the world into a cubicle fortress
a corporate seat in boundaries of white walls
daylight dreams fade into colors of sunset
in moonlit shadows, feeling of freedom calls

engulfed in darkness, night yearns for the sun
to explore beyond galaxies, to a new horizon.
butterflies celebrating in ecstasy of freedom
a voice in heart breaks all shackles of reason

Open my cage, I have grown new wings ,
into an effervescent breeze ,O, set me free
barraged in waves of long forgotten tunes
the blue bird says, now the sky belongs to me.

Standing on a mountain, I can see the world
blurring all maps, in voyage of a sea unseen
wild flowers tamed in a pretty vase on table,
words flow liberated into a free verse serene.

Lost To the Meme

The masters of mad mountains,
the dark dwellers of deep,
the misty myth of memory
slips into soulless sleep.
The timeless, tangled tree-tops,
the perfect placid plains,
the eyes of heirs eternal,
now bore the barraged brain.
Amidst the active androids,
sharp, scintillating screens,
the lore of lasting legends
just melds to mindless memes…

Our Future Imperiled

The Genie is now out of the bottle,
and referred to as ‘The Net’

Where hackers are countries unto themselves,
empowered worldwide—great threats

Able to intrude and disrupt at will,
weaving a new kind of hell

With privacy raped and freedom attacked
—barraged, our future imperiled

Paradoxical Thought

I live in a box where I'm constantly barraged by a personal concoction of paradoxacle thoughts and it haunts me -
and at the cost of any and all of my previous notions,
I question my very existence
as a prawn in the shadow of an infinite ocean.
In the face of adversity I wade through a vast uncertainty,
disect to reveal a dichotomy that evades intellect universally

rendering the fruits of my efforts in vain,
the only knowledge I've gained
is the knowledge that I don't truly know anything-
and if it mattered at all in the past it was thanks to the knowledge I lacked.

curiosity leads to questions,
and their answers breed concern
everytime I make a connection it only reveals to me there's more to learn.

I'd be remiss not to admit I miss the bliss of ignorance-
things were so much simpler before the connections commenced to wreck my conscience

Am I On Or Off Track

Am I On or Off Track

About train crash with questions were barraged
Do they think that it had been sabotaged?
So on tracks improvements may be made
While several lives away already did fade.

God, with all of your generous consideration
How could this have happened to our nation?
Those killed were many of our brightest
And you would want to know very finest.

Why in our thoughts exists much turbulence
Trying to make sense out of all the suspense
Chances are they might be a mother or dad
Was not one of them, and God I'm sure glad.

Have some of the facts frantically been hidden
About happenings in Boston and are forbidden
Our loved ones endured one last single breath
So the Boston Beast should be put to death.

Has Poetry Soup ever had two poems of the
day by the same person before. That would
be interesting.

The snow of winter has melted
Spring's warmth a golden touch
Freedom at the creek with the wash
Only through love can hurt be lifted
And if fear didn't flow awash
Of those many harsh words and such

A pensive mood her expression
Deep in thought 'bout her plight
Just a shadow of his presence
Gave her whole being oppression
But this creek her pleasance
A wild garden space a delight

The rhythm of the water's sound
A coolness of the rush
Bare feet being cleansed and massaged
Free space, quiet, thoughts being drowned
Negative being barraged
Babbling and chirping help to shush

Premium MemberThe Vampress

Deadly pumpkins, their harmonious hum
The rates that the goblins move is greater
When the skeletons come out never dumb

The neophyte, a devoted hater
Brought forth ideas of evil barraged
The rates that the goblins move is greater

Her neckline was sumptuous, with corsage
She was the vampress, taker of others blood
Brought forth ideas of evil barraged

What a torrent she is with her black hood
Waving at all her pumpkins, skeletons
She was the vampress, taker of others blood

She strikes strongly, swiftly breaking tendons
Taking down the mightiest men around
Waving at all her pumpkins, skeletons

She is alarming even without sound
Deadly pumpkins, their harmonious hum
Taking down the mightiest men around
When the skeletons come out never dumb

We Will Stand Together

We will stand together what a wonderful vocation,
despite the wars and conflicts in many of our nations.
We will stand together in these our days of need,
despite a world filled with power, envy, lust and greed.

We will stand together no matter what the cost,
the battle's now beginning the victory's far from lost.
We will stand together defending all that's right,
not buckling from the pressures or being put to flight.

We will stand together and that is our decree,
despite our being barraged by endless bigotry.
We will stand together, hear our mighty battlecry;
Victory for Jesus Christ and that is not a lie!

Freedom Costs

Past decade decayed in a mist of crimson
Last barricade barraged to escape this prison
The Shades of grey flow through my faulty prism
Light betrays - plain sight - guards march me back to my chasm
Cleaning crew - white suits - red spatter
Leaning cruelly towards me - empty eyes - soulless laughter
No body
Chains hold me
Cold so coldly
